Amy Cross has some really inventive concepts. The feeling that you’re always being watched, and even worse, when that feeling is backed by the fact that…well…there’s really somebody following you for your entire life with a camera. Creepy to the max! This had the paranoia notch turned all the way up and I doubt anyone could have guessed how things would end up. So great intrigue and execution here. Jessica, our lead, was a bit much to stay with for so long. And so was the premise. At 220 pages, I’d say this was probably about 70 pages too long. Lots of similar scenes and situations that could have been condensed a bit and made this all easier to get through. At it’s current length, this was a journey that had me feigning interest after awhile. Not that anything was done badly, but too much of anything good is bad. But Cross did a great job creating some scary scenes, especially with Doug and Jessica and then the finale. Both were really memorable and provided great vivid details that brought me right into the scenes. So, albeit a big long-winded, this still was a solid premise and an overall enjoyable experience.

this book was not for me. the first 3 books in this series i loved. this book was a sad finish to a strong starting series.

Disappointing
I was bored, well before I got halfway through this book. It would have been better as a short story. The plot seemed laboured and drawn out. I have awarded previous, books written by Amy Cross, a score of either 4 or even 5 stars but this one was a dud.

This was the most irritating book ever!
This author must not have an editor. In all her books she makes errors with character names, but also she uses he when she means she.
This book was extremely irritating & I was actually hoping for Jess to die! This girl was so annoying I was getting frustrated.

3.5 stars.
I really enjoyed this story overall. I found it genuinely creepy in a number of sections, and it utilised its environment really well (i.e. a lot of great creepy settings like dark apartment blocks and elevators). I was also very curious throughout the entirety of this story, and had so many questions about what was going on - overall, I think that the author did a good job at answering these, however I did have a few issues.
My only problems with the book were:
1) The issues I mentioned above - while I did think the novel had a good ending, I didn't like the parts that were resolved through non-supernatural means, only because they made absolutely no sense. It was a bit frustrating, especially when we were presented with things that couldn't be answered by with logical and realistic actions and situations.
2) I found the main character slightly annoying. Not unbearably so, but some of her behaviour in this genuinely had me frustrated.
3) The ending was a little bit too chaotic, with a lot of things happening really quickly. I've noticed that this is something that has happened in all of the Amy Cross book's that I've read so far, and I'm not really a fan of this style of writing. It comes off as a bit comedic at times, which didn't really fit with the overall tone of the story.
Overall, I did enjoy this novel, and would definitely recommend it.

Amy Cross always delivers. This book was pretty good! I loved how the suspense built up and when the climax in the story happened everything fell into place. There were hints dropped here and there about what was happening to Jessica and I thought they were well placed in the book.
Amy Cross is a fantastic author. She writes about the macabre side of life and I love that about her! She truly is a great writer and I can't stress that enough. Pick up this book or you'll be missing out on something great.

I do enjoy this author's work even if the main character can be annoying...yes, her timidity is explained but sometimes I wanted to shake her out of her passiveness.
This story has an original feel and certainly hones in on today's need for constant surveillance. It was more paranormal than horror, although, it did have its moments and I do prefer the psychological aspects to stories, anyway. And horror is in the mind of the beholder.
There is one thing that annoys me when reading a story - when it is written by an English author and set in England, why does it have American spelling, words and phrases? A few typos, too, but I still enjoyed the overall writing style.

A well paced slow burn
With well drawn characters and a decent storyline, Amy Cross draws you in with a chilling tale of our obsession with the lens. Timid Jessica has been watched all her life. What is worse than that is by whom.

Jessica feels her sanity leaving her as she notices a man with a camera taking pictures of her for her entire life. When her friend goes missing because she notices a camera man, Jessica is forced into a chain of events which lead to her finding out the secret of The Camera Man.

OMG this was one weird story as it made you wonder if Jess if right about everything that takes place through out her life or others are right as she has spent time away in a hospital.
When Jess is released from hospital you does doubt whether she can cope on the outside but she tries really hard but so much happens which makes her doubt her own sanity.
This takes you on a rollercoaster of a ride right until the end.

This was a fun story with a crazy premise that Cross still manages to bring home to a pretty organized and rational level. The paranoia in this story is amazingly well done, it actually had me starting to wonder about the cameras around us in the world and who could be filming who. It's a perfect blend of straight forward thriller with hints of supernatural. Another outstanding character study from Amy Cross.

It started out pretty well, but by the end, it fell flat. Bleah! I like Amy Cross as a rule, but this book...ugh. Some of the action was downright silly. Ok, I can accept some of the truly unbelievable scenes. But some of it is just...well...stoopid. Sorry, Amy. I'll still read your books, but this one is a dog. With fleas. And mange.

And sadly this was my least favourite. You have to read
3 quarters of the book before anything really happens.
The final part of the book exploded and did remind me why I chose to read a lot of what this author puts down on paper

Interesting Concept
A young woman has been seeing a strange man filming her from the time she was five. No one believes her. She is treated for mental issues several times throughout her life. She finds out that she's not so crazy after all. It's fast paced and was creepy good. I give it a three star because it's not one of my favorite books by this author

I loved the originality of this story and the very shy main character, but I got bored a lot. I felt like I was reading the same thing over and over. I feel like this would have been better as a short story.

Delightfully creepy.
I had a hard time putting this down and lost a lot of sleep! How can you not love a book where, in the very first chapter, someone finds a body of a woman with cameras for eyes?

This is quite an original story idea. I feel an editor would help to bring this book to a stronger foundation. Things that need to be fixed are easy fixes. It is better to spend time fine-tuning a book rather than pumping out numerous pieces.

A good book
I enjoyed this story. The suspense is good. It is creepy , especially with the cameras. Is the heroine insane, it is the Camera Man real. I recommend this to readers who like horror.

I enjoyed this book. I like the thought of the story. Started off well, middle was ok but started to drift but then the ending was true Amy Cross style. This is why it got 4/5.

I was disappointed with the Camera Man. Amy Cross is usually right up there with Stephen King, but not this time. I suggest that everybody save your time and bypass this book.

Don't recommend it
The main character kept saying the same thing all the time. Too repetitive and could not get into the story. Really stupid. And the unbelievable end! Nope!!!

One of my favorite authors. This story was a little different from the normal horror story. Imagine being followed by an unknown man recording you all your life.
