When I picked up the book, I was very curious and looking forward to finding inspiration from how the author made these several promotions happen and pull from this.

Unfortunately, after reading the book almost half way through, it really did not resonate with me. I started reading it a while back and stopped reading it thinking I was just not in the mood for this book and now months later I picked it back up and continued reading some more and it is just not grabbing my attention or interest.

Don’t get me wrong, there is some good information in there but the format and the structure of the book did not engage me enough for me to want to continue reading it.

It was mentioned that the goal of the book was to bring actionable steps to being able of bossing up, but it was too much steps for too little story telling to my tastes. There are several chapters, all of them are rather short with a very similar structure of a small story about someone else, then different key steps in line with the idea of the chapter.

If there would have been a continuous story line going across the book sharing the experiences and then bringing up some of the steps about how the struggles were overcome etc. it could have kept my attention better.

Again, there is good information in there, but by wanting too much to bring value to the reader, I think the actionnable steps took priority too much over the story telling that resonate with readers and that gets the lessons to be remembered by engaging emotions and imaginations.

I have also read other personal development books and maybe for someone else who hasn’t, there could be more novelty to the information shared.

I really wanted to like this book, but not my favourite.

Not a bad book at all and I would recommend to some people, but not a must-read for all.

If you are already on your entrepreneurship path, other books might be more suitable as you will find most advice are quite high-level and you won't end the book with the feeling like you have new tools and or that you should change the way you do things.

If however, you are just starting or even considering investing in yourself to make your own path in life instead of seeing work as being this 9 to 5 thing you gotta do to pay the bills, this book could be an eye-opener and set you up to becoming a boss.

Then, once you're a boss junior - just getting started and feeling good about it, you should read How to be a Bawse by Lilly Singh (aka Superwoman).
