Conversationalist coach and Author Zoe McKey has written a thorough and in-depth book on what it means to be brave, courageous and to keep going when times are tough.
The book is a great little nugget of inspiration as it dives into how you can make higher choices when you are confronted with two paths. As the author gets into chapter 3, we learn not be fooled by quick overnight success. The ego is an elusive enemy and can fool you into doing things you don’t really want to do, even if you know they are wrong. As Zoe tells us, we can manage ego by doing first things first, practicing humility, and keeping your goals to yourself.

If you fear making decisions, chapter 4 is for you; by not making decisions we can do as much damage [and more] than making bad decisions and failing. By not worrying so much about judgments and public opinion, we can do the right thing by making a “small” decision.

In chapter 5 we learn that to be courageous doesn’t mean invincibility. Courageous people are probably more vulnerable as they take more risks and put themselves out there to experience failure. The author gives some good examples of this. Chapter 6 we get a great lesson on managing fear and the steps to take to better manage ourselves when we are scared. You can overcome your fears by doing one little thing that scares you.
The other topics in this book teach us how to take up opportunity when it presents itself, the lessons you can learn when you test yourself, and start doing the things that are necessary by planning for them. My favorite chapter is ten, and here we can learn the value of trusting other people, a lesson that everyone can benefit from.

The Bottom Line:
This was a great little read that I finished in just under 90 minutes. Chock full of great tips, strategies and exercises for building more courage into your life, “Catching Courage” will have you chasing fear instead of running from it.

What a great book

Zoe is a prolific author with multiple best sellers. This book is yet another example of that.

She shares a lot of great stories, but what I find MOST helpful are the questions she asks at the end of each chapter. She helps you reflect on the lessons in each chapter by asking two questions at the end that help you apply the concepts she discusses to your actual life. I think it's a great way to write a personal development book.

Life is a daring adventure or nothing.

The quote reminds me of the times when I should've taken action and instead, I just stood there frozen for quite a while doing nothing. To change is to have a shift of perspective.  Try to force yourself to practise to do one thing you fear a day, to expand the horizon of your mental strength and courage to challenge yourself.

Having the curiousity have an indefinite impact on how you view courage in conquering the so called world of fear.

Each chapter is about a topic and questions at the end of chapter to ask ones self. Interesting and helpful.
