Nina Harrington
272 books60 followersNina Harrington grew up in rural Northumberland, England, within walking distance of both heather moorland, and wonderful wild sandy beaches.
She decided aged eleven, that her dream job was to be a librarian because then she could read all of the books in the public library whenever she wanted!
Many years later she took the bold decision to take a career break from working in the pharmaceutical industry to realise her dream of being a fiction writer. No salary. No contract - but following her heart.
That decision had put over 1.7 million copies of her romance books into the hands of readers in more than 28 countries and translated into 23 languages.
Some of these books have won international awards.
Nina loves to read both suspense and contemporary romance, and is still a total fan-girl when she meets her favourite authors at book-signings and conferences.
Nina has worked in the UK, France and Spain, and enjoyed wonderful holidays in countries such as Greece, Switzerland, Austria, Jamaica, India, Nepal, Mauritius, Reunion and Portugal, but is now settled with her husband in Jane Austen country in the south of England.
When she is not creating stories, which make her readers smile, without the aid of pharmaceuticals, her hobbies are cooking, eating, enjoying good wine, and talking, for which she has had specialist training.
Nina currently writes contemporary crime novels and series romance for the Mills and Boon Modern Tempted/ Harlequin KISS lines and Carina UK, plus non-fiction guides for other authors.

Uno de esos harlequines que merecen la pena. Por un lado tenemos a un médico aventurero, Kyle Munroe, de esos que por trabajo humanitario se recorre el mundo. Eso es lo que para él tiene sentido, ese tipo de medicina. Por su parte, Lulu Hamilton es hija de otra médico humanitaria. Murió hace tiempo y Kyle quiere escribir un libro sobre ella, ante el recelo de Lulu. Sus padres se querían, sí, pero la vocación de su madre la tuvo alejada de casa durante largos períodos de tiempo. Por eso ahora, de adulta, tiene claro que si se enamora, tendrá que ser de un hombre que esté a su lado todos los días de su vida, y no corriendo la zapatilla por esos mundos de diorrr.
Esta novelita ganó un premio Romantic Times, y es de esos harlequines que tienen algo especial. Es sencilla y dulce, nada de sexo en cada página. Plantea un conflicto contemporáneo que suena real, dos personas que se quieren pero con estilos de vida incompatibles.
La valoré en su momento 7/10, así que eso sería 3 estrellas y media.

If you are looking for a heartwarming, sweet love story that you won't be able to put down, look no further than Nina Harrington's second book for Harlequin Romance.
This book is hands down one of the reasons I've always loved this line. The focus is on the characters and not sex, which is refreshing sometimes. Not that I don't love a spicy story, because I do.
This story, in particular, focuses on family ties and relationships, as well as coping with disabilities. The heroine, Lulu Hamilton, is hearing impaired, a result of a tropical illness that she caught while visiting her mother in Africa.
She's now working with famed doctor/writer Kyle Munroe on his second book that involves the work of her mother. In the process of doing this, Lulu and Kyle fall in love.
This story was really well written and it showed both characters issues with their parents and their relationships.
When Kyle explains how he dealt with Lulu's mother's death, your heart breaks for him, and you really wish Lulu would be a bit more understanding, even though the news casts doubts on why Kyle is showing interest in her.
There was nothing I didn't like about this book. I could not put it down. Its definitely a keeper and likely to be a book I will read again when I need to feel that all can be good with the world.

Kyle Munroe is part medical physician, part Indiana Jones adventure-seeker -- taking high risks in not only his job but climbing the Himalayas, etc., part author of a very popular book re: his exploits in Nepal helping those in need of medical assistance and then there is the part of him that has never really reconciled his parent's divorce and how to have a long-term relationship. When Kyle returns from Nepal he is asked by his publisher to write a new book re his time in Uganda. The deadline is quick and Lulu is hired to assist him in compiling all his diaries, pieces of paper and other assorted unorganized papers from 9 years ago.

Nina Harrington's second Mills and Boon Romance is delicious!
The gorgeous Kyle stole my heart away! Hired: Sassy Assistant brings a jaw-dropper hero called Kyle who’s rugged, exciting and very contemporary. He’s a medic, an adventurer and a man to simply swoon over. With a smile that makes you melt and a wonderfully unconventional style he’s hard to resist. Guy next door but with stellar hero credentials tucked away in his combat trousers’ back pockets.
Lulu is the perfect woman for him too. Mr Adventurer meets Ms Sassy in a fun and touching romantic ride to love. With poingnant and touching moments too - these two really deserve to be together. So if you want a romance book that has you smiling from the first page and tripping over the pages wanting more, more, more THIS is it. Heart-warming and sassy; buy Nina’s book or regret that you missed a treat.
