So what does a twenty-nine year old, soon to be divorced mother of five year old son, CJ, and a nineteen year old college football star have in common? Chemistry! Lots and lots of steamy chemistry! Their absolute love and devotion to the adorable CJ, is an another undeniable tie that binds!

Seeing as her son’s father has basically been AWOL since they separated, Marin regrets there is no man in CJ’s life to look up to and learn from. Trace Forester, her sinfully hot looking, overly confident neighbor, who is home for the summer, happily agrees to stand-in for the deadbeat dad and play ball with her son whenever he can.

Trace truly enjoys hanging out with CJ, and as you can imagine, enjoys ‘hanging out’ with his mother even more. Yes indeed, Trace is incredibly talented both on and off the football field. Ah, but thankfully he is so much more than eye-candy! This fast paced, sexy read is full of heart and wit.

I enjoyed appearances by Caden and Finlay from the first book in this series called “For Finlay.” However, both are stand alones.

Happy book birthday

Once again J. Nathan had me turning page after page without being able to stop. Her writing flows smoothly with a fast pace feel but without it being rushed. For Forester has the perfect mix of sweet and sexy.

Right on the heels of kicking her self-centered, cheating husband to the curve, Marin finds herself picking up the pieces of her broken life. Wanting to have a good male role model for her son, she asks her neighbor to spend some time playing catch with CJ and ends up swept off in Forester’s very grown up and too attractive for his own good confidence and charm. Age difference aside though, life is too complicated at the moment. Can there ever come a right time for them?

Before finishing college and heading to the pro’s, Forester decides to spend the summer bartending in his hometown. Spending it at his parents’ place wasn’t his first choice but everything changes when he runs into the object of his teen-age dreams and she asks him to spend time with her son. He’d been too young and she was completely unavailable before, but there’s nothing stopping him now.
“I’ve always seen you, Marin. All those years. And it’s just crazy to finally have you looking back and seeing me.”

I’ve mentioned this before and I’ll say it again… diving into a book by one of your favorite authors without knowing much about it and trusting said author to give you a great story is an awesome experience and the trust paid off spectacularly. With excellent writing, character development and interesting plot, Marin and Forester’s story hit all the right spots for me. It made me smile, swoon, fan myself, bite my nails wondering what would happen and ultimately gave me a feel good with its absolutely sweet happy ending.

There’s so much about Marin to like. She sacrificed so much to protect the people she loved most. She’s not only a great mom she’s a touch chick who is strong and brave enough to carry a whole lot of weight on her shoulders and still have the time and energy to continue with the career she had left on hold because of her douch canoe husband.

Trace is sexy, thoughtful and absolutely swoon worthy. He is self-assured which made him seem older, his confidence was enticing. I really liked the time he and Marin spent together and the time Trace spent with CJ was melt your heart cute. I appreciated the fact that he knew what he wanted and didn’t easily give up.
“I was nineteen. I was in my prime. I could have any girl I wanted. But the one I wanted was three houses away with a kid and a soon-to-be-ex-husband. Strange how things happened.”

The age difference between them was irrelevant because the complemented each other perfectly and loved deeply.

For Forester is book #2 in the For You series by J. Nathan. It is a standalone, contemporary sports romance. It’s action heartfelt and sexy and sweet. Told from two points of view.

Reading For Finlay, I loved those characters so much and I definitely had a soft spot for Trace Forester so when I found out he was getting book, of course I jumped on it!

As for the relationship aspect of this book, I sorry to be blunt but here it is: I feel like this is just a mask. A lot of pretty words, but no substance behind it. I don't understand how, why, or where this relationship even came from. Separated from her husband and son in tow, Marin meets Trace (again) and he pursues her. The only start to this relationship is how Trace goes on and on about how frowning up (she's ten years older than him), Marin used to be his fantasy. He's great with CJ, sure, and I won't say that she was in an emotional place and this is the only reason why, but it just felt like such an unlikely couple. I couldn't grasp what they could actually have in common or where it was all coming from. I felt zero chemistry or attraction from their 'budding' romance, just Marin's inner monologue about how they can't be together since he's a teenager and her friends telling her to go for it because he's hot. After finishing this book, that's honestly all I got from the beginning.

I threw my hands up. “Oh, great. Now the neighbors are gonna see you sneaking out of my house.”
“Nope. They’ll see me walking out the door in no particular rush. Because I know what I want. It’s you who needs to figure it out.”

So sure it's cutesy and whatnot (though more cheesy as the story progresses), the first few weeks, but just as I didn't feel the beginning of the relationship, they were all of a sudden head over heels and I feel like I missed the entire thing. Then Trace goes back to college and (shocker), drama comes knocking from every corner.

Overall it's a nice read for its escapism factor, but the originality and execution left room for improvement in my eyes. It just felt - my opinion - average, a been there, done that, sort of story. And trust me, I was more than a little upset by this considering how much I loved For Finlay.

“I didn’t want you hurt.”
“Do I look like I need protecting? Because from where I’m standing, all I need is you.”

I will saw though that I liked the little twists and roadblocks that the author used to turn the plot around a bit. Show a different side of the characters, add some drama, ex husband stuff, etc. It was good, but so insanely frustrating at the same time. What happened to characters that speak to each other? An adult that can properly portray words to another adult? When did ignoring people become the new standard? This is the kind of stuff that aggravated me, ESPECIALLY with said drama going on. And no, I'm not talking whatsoever about the college student, I'm looking at the heroine.

I don't even know how to really end this now. It was a fine read, but I think overall I'm just a bit disappointed. I had such a high bar after first book in this series, I expected that to continue but I guess from these last few paragraphs, you know how I actually feel about it. Always a sad day when this happens, but let's be honest, if the author decides to make another story in this series (Sabrina??) I'd still most definitely be wanting to read it.

"How do you convey what it feels like to get something you've wanted for so long?

This quote pretty much says enough about how this story goes. This is a story of a man's fantasy turned into a reality. But we all know, life never gives bliss without hardships. Or should I say hard kicks?

Trace Forester is a nineteen-year-old (nearly twenty) who knows he's got skills, not only as Alabama's star wide receiver. Even outside the field, he's got it. But when he came home for summer to make some cash before his senior year, it turned out, heading into the draft after the upcoming season isn't his only dream. He has another one that goes by the name Marin, the star of his adolescent fantasies. Seeing her again made him think about those fantasies again and turning them into reality. Because one thing about grown up Trace is, he's confident enough to chase for what he wants.

And he wants Marin....

But Marin comes with a lot of baggage. Her life is somehow going downhill, if not for her five-year-old adorable son, CJ who, by the way, stole my heart even before Trace and Marin did. Marin instantly acknowledge that Trace is a man now- a charming, confident (sometimes cocky), funny, hot-blooded, drop-dead gorgeous man. She just couldn't resist him and his fantasies.

With Trace making his way into Marin's and CJ's lives, everything seems perfect, until it's not....And Marin is forced to make a selfless decision, even though it will hurt all the three of them.

But as much as it hurt the characters, from there story just get better and better.

I ended up liking this one, and mind you, this isn't actually the kind of genre I usually read. The age difference almost discouraged me, especially that the woman is the one who's older. After reading chapter one though, I know instantly, I wouldn't find any problem with the issue. In fact, this little issue is unbelievably what made the story, the romance, even more beautiful. Marin, even at her age, clearly needs Trace, in most ways. And Trace, being the younger one, never appeared as if he needs protecting. The love he'd shown to Marine and CJ was amazing.

As a couple, Marin and Trace made it to my list of favorites. The attraction between them is undeniable and overwhelming in a good way. The exchange, banters and sexual interactions made me smile and sometimes laugh.

…..or you could just do me and all would be right in the world.

That's Trace talking to his fantasy.

Overall, this is a very heartwarming story with a reminder. A story about going after one's fantasy and turning it into reality, despite the hardships along the way.

“I’m thinking you can do whatever you set your mind to.”

And this:
“Thank you,” he said....."For making every one of my dreams come true.”

“What about your fantasies?” I asked......

“Oh, babe,” he said before pressing his lips to mine. “The second you let me into your life,
my fantasies came true.”

I actually dived into this book knowing nothing which I seldom do. This is my fist read from J. Nathan, so I had no any expectation. Reading For Forester, in mere two hours, I can say, I wasn't disappointed. In fact, it left me satisfied which rarely happens when I read short novels as this.

This one is highly recommended to everyone who's looking for a heartwarming, sexy, quick read.

4.5 swoony stars

“I like when you look at me,” he said, his voice vulnerable
“Oh, yeah?”
He nodded. “It makes me feel like you see me.”

We absolutely LOVED this book! It was exactly what we needed and everything we love! Talk about swooooon! This book hit all the right spots and not one, but two sweet guys stole our hearts. One a sexy, sweet, confident wide receiver footy player, the other an adorably cute little 5 year old. Oh dear, the relationship between the big burly footballer and the funny, loving little CJ was the cherry on top of an already heart stealing, romantic read!

This was our second read by J Nathan and again, she completely won us over with her wonderful engaging characters and beautifully sweet, funny, emotional and sexy story! For Forester, was a story about love, self-discovery, and most importantly about listening to your heart!

‘I was nineteen. I was in my prime. I could have any girl I wanted. But the one I wanted was three houses away with a kid and a soon-to-be-ex-husband. Strange how things happened.'

This book had so many elements we love in a story : single Mum, older woman/younger man, a heart melting child, a book boyfriend to die for, a genuine believable romance, a sports element where you really feel the sporting atmosphere, fun banter, searing chemistry and just enough drama to kick start your heart! Yep, For Forester was a winner on all counts; we can’t wipe this happy smile off our faces!

We briefly met Trace Forester in For Finlay (For You #1 – a standalone) as he was Caden’s roommate and immediately after finishing that book we wanted Trace’s story! The cocky number #82 ‘Bama boy receiver really left his mark on us, so we’ve been counting the months to read this book!

“I need you, Marin.”
“I don’t want to need you.”

Twenty nine year old Marin’s marriage has just fallen apart after finding out her dick of a husband has been cheating on her. Marin now has to face the prospect of starting again, being a single Mum to sweet little CJ, having given up her career to be the stay at home wife her husband wanted.

Marin bumps into her neighbour Trace, who is home from college for the summer and who is no longer the teen she remembers causing havoc on his skateboard. Oh no, 19 year old Trace is very much a man…all rippling abs and biceps, but not only that, Trace has a sweet nature, together with a maturity that surpasses his age and the two fall into an easy friendship.

“I’ve always seen you, Marin. All those years. And it’s just crazy to finally have you looking back and seeing me.”

Wanting CJ to have a male influence in his life, and with Trace being a soon to be pro footballer, Marin asks Trace to spend time with CJ and impart his knowledge and be a male support for CJ. A job he’s more than happy to oblige with, because no one can resist that little 5 year old cherub, CJ.

“I want to be the one who laughs when he tells a silly story about what happened at school. I want to be on the receiving end of his hugs because he gives the best hugs.”

Well, as you can imagine, things progress between Marin and Trace. The banter between them was funny and sexy, the chemistry crackled! Little did Marin know that she had starred in many of Trace’s Trace’s teenage fantasies which were about to come true!

“I spent so many nights alone in my room thinking of you,” he murmured against my skin. “What you’d feel like. What you’d taste like. What you’d sound like when I made you come.”

J Nathan did a splendid job in making us believe, to feel the emotional, physical and mental compatibility between Trace and Marin with every beat of our hearts, and if you’re wanting a book to knock you off your feet with heat, sweetness, emotion, a book boyfriend to add to the shelf, and if you’re looking for some serious swooning… look no further, because this book is it! We can’t get enough of this standalone sports series! A definite TBB recommendation!

I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and am leaving my review voluntarily. This was my first book by J. Nathan. I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this story. This was a story about Marin who is a soon to be divorced mother of a 5 year old and Trace the neighborhood boy who is now a star wide receiver and senior in college. Trace has always had fantasies about her and when she asks him to help out with her son so he can have a man in his life. CJ's father doesn't want to do anything with him. Trace takes her up on it. It helps him get closer to Marin and that is what he wants. Because of how persistent Trace is, Marin is having issues with how close that he is getting to her because he is 19 and she is 29. She feels uneasy because of that age difference and how he is making her feel.

Marin's soon to be ex starts to cause some issues because she is trying to move on and he is not liking it. Because of his problem, Marin will have to make some choices even though they may be the wrong choices, she makes them. They will get their HEA but they will have to work for it.

REVIEW: 4 PERFECT STARS
"I've always seen you, Marin. All those years. And it's just crazy to finally have you looking back and seeing me."

I am literally HIGH on smiles right now. This was THE most perfect book to read in between heavier ones because there was zero angst, and smiles galore. OMG....I am officially in love with Trace Forester and have decided that maaaaaaybe I can handle this trope. HAHA! This was a little out of my comfort zone; but the way J Nathan told this story, and the emotions she brought forth, she made it easy to read this book and fall in love with Marin and Trace's love. What a fun, light but sexy, and altogether swoony love to read about too. Trace was a man wise beyond his years, but he had also met his one true love that brought him to his knees, and I love that he stayed true to himself. I smiled the ENTIRE time I was reading this book when these two were together. Whether it was laughing at Trace's so-very-NOT-shy and most definitely NOT humble comments, or when he was being extremely romantic and downright dirty with Marin; I was in love. No joke....I smiled the entire time.

OMG....these two were so hot together. Their feelings were a force to be reckoned with, and I loved watching them fall for each other. Seriously.....ahhhh. I feel like I can exhale. Tee hee! I really loved this book. My smile is legit!! I am super sad that it read as fast as it did though. I could have kept reading their story!! sigh

We had banter: check
We had swoonage: check
We had smiles: check
We had laughs: check
We had SEXy times: check
We had sincerity: check

I seriously cannot be any happier right now....I am still smiling after reading this story. It really was just FUN and so good. Thinking about everything that was going on, one thing that stood out for me was that to some folks, this was so wrong, but to Trace and Marin, this was oh so right. And that dynamic, I found that I actually loved it. These two were so cognizant of what was going on and what others were thinking, but Trace didn't care AT ALL. I felt that Marin's feelings and insecurities were completely understandable and described really well, and that made her very relatable.

I was frustrated a little with how manipulative one of the side characters was being because I hate seeing that happen. I have been in the position Marin was so deviously put in, so I could really empathize with her. I felt her pain and the false realization that her hands were tied. She was backed into a corner and she was made to feel that she had no way out, and that was hard to read. I felt terrible for her, but I will tell you what; the way all the characters came together in this story was incredible. It was a really good mix of characters with different dynamics, but that also made it a more well-rounded story for me; more believable. We all get a little help from our friends now and then, and that sense of community and friendship was well played throughout this book. I loved it!

This is my second book by J Nathan, and if she keeps writing stories like this, I am going to have a very happy kindle. This is the SECOND book in this series, but can be read as a complete standalone -- absolutely no story crossover at all, besides the main characters in For Finlay. I can and will happily recommend this series, and now I need to catch up on her other series!! I am *SO* happy that I "found" J Nathan and read her. I cannot wait to read more.

--> Oh, and if there were ever food related scenes that made me blush - woah, canned whip cream should make it on your grocery list because....holy hell, Trace is sexy AF!

"I've had good sex. This is something else."

2nd read: 2023
1st read : 2019

I was given a copy of this book by the New Adult Book Club and this is my voluntarily, honest review of it.

After reading and loving the first book in the ‘For you’ series, I was really curious about the second book ‘For Forester’ (especially because Trace Forester falls for a ten year older woman).
Just like the first book ‘For Finlay’, this story is also a light and easy new adult read. The story is told in both POV’s. You don’t have to read the first book in this series to read this one.

Marin is doing the best she can but life is difficult for her at the moment. A few months back, she was a happily married, stay at home mother but after finding out that her husband was cheating on her, she is now living alone with her young son CJ and looking for a job.
So the last thing on her mind is having a hot little summer fling with a younger guy but that is exactly what happens when she asks Trace, her neighbour’s son, to spend some time with her little boy. Because the more time Trace spends with them, the more Marin is attracted to him. But what first starts as a little fling, soon becomes more but not everyone is happy about that. Trace’s mother and Marin’s soon to be ex-husband are doing everything they can to separate them. Can love really conquer their age difference, the long distance, the gossip and threats? Or was it never meant to be?

We met Trace Forester in the first book but never long enough to get a good impression of him. So I was curious about him and after reading this book, I can say that I loved his character very much. He was very protective and kind to Marin and her son. He knew what he wanted and he went for it. I loved Marin’s character too. She was intelligent, fun and strong. I really liked Trace and Marin as a couple. There is no cheating happening and the chemistry between Marin and Trace was intense. I really loved Marin’s young son CJ, he was so adorable and I loved the way that Trace treated him, with love and respect.

Although we got an epilogue (thank you!! I love them!!) I would have loved it more, if it would have been longer. It was good but it felt a bit rushed, with a lot of information.

I’m very happy that I discovered this series because I’m really enjoying it!! The stories are easy to read with a bit of drama but not too much, the characters are very likeable, there are some steamy sex scenes and hot football players in it. What more can you want!!
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

3.5*

How I missed that this was an older woman/younger man story I'll never know! I've had this book on my tbr pile for awhile, but if I had realized it was OW/YM I would have read it much sooner- this trope is my kryptonite.
For Forester was a light easy read, that had the potential for a lot of angst and drama. Thankfully, the story was free of any real trouble, other than a few hits here and there from the ex and Trace's mother. What we did get was a story of a woman finally coming into own, after being stifled by her ex-husband, and a young man showing her that age really is just number.
Trace was such a sweetheart! He knew what he wanted and didn't hesitate to go after it. Even when Marin pushed him away, he didn't lose site of the end game. I loved him for that.

I really appreciated that Ms. Nathan didn't have Marin make such a huge issue about their age difference. So many times in books with the OW/YM trope the woman tends to freak out about the age gap, feeling guilty, unworthy- making a bigger deal out of it than it is. You never see that in books where the man is substantially older.

I received An ARC of For Forester by J. Nathan in exchange for an honest review.

This is the second book that I read by this author so it was an easy decision to read For Forester. I can't put into words how much I enjoyed this book. It was fast-paced and the story was well-developed. Readers if you love the older woman/younger man concept, then you will like the relationship that blossoms between Marin and Trace. The attraction that sizzles between the two isn't just physical, it's a lot more than that.

Marin is woman who is trying to get her life back on track after being betrayed by her husband. She's looking for a new start while raising her five-year- old son alone. She has an arrangement with Trace and his presence in her life causes conflicting feelings inside her. She feels an attraction toward Trace and it scares her as well as it heats up her skin. She can't help being drawn in by his good looks and great personality, but their age difference weighs on her most of all.

Trace likes Marin and he wants to bring her out of her shell. He wants her to experience all that life have to offer, to let loose and live for herself. Trace wants Marin in so many ways. He loves being around her and CJ. He feels the natural chemistry between Marin and him. He loves making her laugh and their shared conversations.

Trace always desired Marin for as long as he could remember. She was the woman that starred in all his boyhood fantasies. He never hoped he could have a shot with her. Marin is the only girl that he's ever wanted. He doesn't care about their age difference. He only wants her to take a chance on him, on them.

I just loved the deep sensual love that Trace and Marin had for one another. I loved how much Marin loved Trace and her son, loved how much she sacrificed for them both, and how far she went to protect them. She was an incredible woman, mother, and lover. Trace was just as amazing in the same sense. He was dependable and honorable when it came to Marin and CJ, he loved them so much.

J. Nathan does a wonderful job writing this book and readers you're going to love it as much as I have. It was really good and I couldn't put it down. I thought For Finlay was great, but For Forester is also an incredible read. I had to give it a five star rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐! I can't wait to read another one of J. Nathan's books. They are truly phenomenal.

Unf. That was the noise I made when not only is this college sports romance an age-gap trope.
ONE OF MY FAVES.
It was also the heroine being the elder!

OHMIGOD.

Yes. Yes! I was so excited. It's always usually the guy being older so I fell into this book face first and didn't emerge until I was finished and fully sated.

I loved Finlay and Caden from book one (read it, it's gorgeous!) but Trace and Marin stole me completely. I LOVE THEM SO MUCH. Trace finally getting a shot with his fantasy woman from his teen years. She's a single mom with baggage, but the story focuses on these two so brilliantly I was swept away in hot, sexy goodness.
There's minimal angst and drama ( in both books ) I love that they're character driven and there's nothing that makes me rage and want to throw my kindle.

A definite book for my re-read pile and can't wait for more from this series.

I know have to devour everything J. Nathan has written so far.

This was really good! It was different from the sports romances I usually read, in that Marin was older than Trace and she had a son. I liked seeing their dynamic and Trace interacting with CJ. The story was sweet and I was happy that Trace was a good guy and didn't treat Marin badly or just use her for a hookup. Charles was a dick for sure, but I liked what Marin did when she found out he cheated. She was a strong woman, handling her and her son's lives. She didn't need a man, but appreciative of Trace. I would definitely like to read the other 2 books in the series!

Oh, man. Age gap romance with the hero being the younger AND it's a sports romance. Jesus, catnip or what!!

I bloody loved every second of this book and I need more from this author ASAP.

Highly recommend this series to anyone who loves NA/Sports romance or age gap tropes.

Gorgeous!!

A definite TBB recommendation!........... Click here for full review

Overall I thought this was a sweet romance, I loved Trace - he was a great hero. I liked the heroine but there was a bit of instalove on her part and at times she seemed more immature than the hero. What I really didn't like was the contrived way the author ended a conflict. The hero finds out .

Overall I liked the book but the legal issues conflict(s) were not handled well in my opinion.

DNF at 20%.

FMC is Marin (29) and MMC is Trace (19). She has a son and just moved somewhere back home after she caught her husband cheating on her. Accidentally they meet and she asks him to play with her son.

I came for a MILF story so the age gap is not a problem. But the way she starts panting for him from the first second they met despite the fact that she just started divorcing her husband and suppose to have some time to come to terms with everything but instead this bizarre situation with insta lust with a college guy. He is an unapologetic flirt and it’s like heavy flirting and innuendos. But alright, he is hot and it’s natural despite everything to notice that.

But then starts some nonsense. He just comes to play basketball but she is already comparing him with her husband after a couple of interactions:

“This was how easy life should have been. The fun. The laughter. The focus on our child.”

She is also jealous of the girls he goes on a date with. It’s just.. I can’t connect with MC, she seems immature to me and he is just an arrogant teenager. That’s what he thinks about himself:
“I was certainly a force to be reckoned with.” 😁
It was the last straw for me.

J. Nathan kinda snuck her way into my top ten favorite authors. It all started a couple of books ago when I took a chance on a net galley arc of a book in another series of hers and before I knew it I was devouring everything she put out. And when this book came out I was too dang excited. It was then that I realized, I loved this authors books HARD. Her books are angsty, sweet, sexy, and somehow still manage to make me laugh and grin through out.

I admit, I was worried about this one. Books where the heroine is much older aren't usually my jam, but this author proved me wrong. She made me love and respect the heck out of Trace and even though Marin seemed pretty dang focused on his age, I completely overlooked it because his character was just so dang good to his core.

Stories of single mothers always give me the feels. And I absolutely loved Marin's story. Her insecurities, her reservations, they all made so much sense to my thirty something mommy self.
I loved this one. Great writing. Witty Banter. Super Steamy. Another touch down for J. Nathan.

For Forrester is second read by J Nathan and again, she has completely won me over with her wonderful engaging characters and a story that is so beautifully sweet, funny, emotional and sexy. This was a story about love, self-discovery, and most importantly about listening to and following your heart.

This story has so many elements; single Mum, older woman/younger man, an adorable five year old (who will just completely melt your heart!), a swoony book boyfriend, a genuine and believable romance, a sports emphasis where you really feel the sporting atmosphere, fun banter, sizzling chemistry and a dramatic plot twist.

J. Nathan is rapidly becoming one of my favourite go to authors. I just adore her writing style, the faultless delivery of characters that are perfectly flawed and the endless chemistry and charisma that pours off every page. Readers will fall in love with each unique character and their story. I’m so excited to read more of J. Nathan’s work.

Trace is a wide receiver for his college football team and has always had a crush on Marin, the hot mom on the block. Marin is in the process of getting a divorce from her ex-husband. She notices her young son is needing a positive male influence and asks Trace if he can spend some time with him, she doesn't expect to be attracted to Trace or that the feeling is mutual. With an age difference though and Trace not even twenty yet, Marin isn't sure if she should take a chance with Trace or if he will be giving up to much to be with her. What path will Marin take to find happiness?

I liked this one quite a bit. I was a little uncertain because of the ages at the beginning but Trace is pretty extraordinary and certainly has a mind of his own. I appreciated that this was a bit of a slow build as well. Wonderful read, would check out more in this series.

For Forester was a book I literally inhaled in one sitting. From the very beginning I just hooked, maybe it was the way Ms. Nathan sets the story up, maybe it was that I loved the previous book and knew this one would be just as great, or maybe it was just that I had been craving a book just like this. I love sports romances that isn’t a secret, and behind hockey football is my favorite, add in a hot college football player and a heroine I immediately loved and I am one happy book whore. I got all of those things with For Forester.

Trace is your typical college football player, or is he? He has fantasized about Marin since he was young. Trace is sexy, he is a bit cocky at times, he is funny, but most importantly of all he isn’t just there for Marin, but for her son as well. I loved the scenes with Trace and CJ, you could tell that both meant the world to each other and proves that DNA is not the only thing that can make you a father or father figure, just being a good man can and Trace was just that. Wish I could say the same for Trace’s mother, but well read it and you will understand why if the woman happened to step out in from of my moving car I wouldn’t be hitting my brakes, just saying.

Marin was sweet; at times sassy, but most importantly she was not only a great mom to CJ but protected those she loved, even if it meant causing herself heartbreak. She really bloomed I guess you could say when she was with Trace, he brought out parts of her that she had forgotten about. She really balanced well with Trace, age difference aside which I must note I had no issues about, they made each other better.

For Forester is a book I can easily say needs to be on the TBR lists of new adult romance fans, sports romance fan, or just anyone looking for a really good book because this is the book for you if you are. I loved For Forester and I can’t wait to see what J. Nathan has in store for us next.

For Forester by J. Nathan a fab five star read. This is the second book in the For You series, they can each be read as stand-alone as each book follows a different couple but each story is intertwined in some way. This is the story of Trace, Marin and a lovely little boy named CJ. They are new adult romances so there is some passion but it’s not all hot and naughty all the way through.
Trace Forester is Alabama’s star receiver, he is loved where ever he goes, on and off the field the boy has talents. Women line up to become a notch on his bed post, and there has always been one that started It all, filling his teenage boy fantasy’s and when he comes home for the summer holidays to make some cash, his teen fantasy asks for his help with her boy he leaps at the chance to spend time with them, after all isn’t it every boys wet dream to bend his teen fantasy over the kitchen table, or anywhere in fact.
Marin’s life has just imploded she has just found out that her perfect marriage was a sham, and now it’s time to put the life she had put on hold back to the fore front, starting over again and moving on, what she doesn’t expect is for the teenage boy she remembers to come back into her life as a full grown up hottie hunk, when her life seems to be falling apart and her son needs a male role model as her soon to be ex-husband isn’t up for the job, Trace seems like the perfect option.
The problems arise when what starts as a simple flirtation turns into something more akin to a summer romance, but when a devilish divorce is brought into the situation as well as a significant age gap, that if reversed wouldn’t be a problem but if an older woman goes after a younger man, there is always gossip and when you are related to the towns biggest gossip it seems amiss that she wouldn’t want to be the centre of attention.

Oh my god. Hot AF football player chases the neighborhood fantasy woman and wins! Is that a tabloid headline or what?

May to December romances are a struggle to get right. The realism of their attraction. The ability of the author to make the age gap disappear within the nature of the characters and their development. All things that can seriously fuck up a story line.

Trace is a bit larger than life, and a hell of a lot more of an adult man than his age belies. I really liked that he was the instigator, the driving force. Loved how he really put Marin and his feelings for her in the forefront—even as he was the star on the field.

And Marin. Man, she really had to pull herself up by the bootstraps to get through that divorce. But I loved how she didn’t cower, didn’t back down when standing up for herself and her life. And I loved how she allowed herself to fall in love again.

And I really loved Trace and Marin together. Super sweet. Hella sexy. *fans self*

But just to be upfront, I really had to dispel reality a bit with For Forester. I struggled with the age gap, the believably of the maturity of Trace in comparison Marin. The how’s, why’s and what for’s. But get over it I did, because that damn Trace whittled his way under my skin just like he kinda forced himself into Marin’s life. ~ Missy, 4 stars

For Forester was my first book by J. Nathan, I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and silky the story was. I wasn't really sure what to expect as so many sports romances have such different feels.

The story of Marin and Trace absolutely pulled at my heartstrings. The fastest way to swooning is having a delicious football player fall for a cutie little boy and be his hero. I mean I'm melting. Spending every day, Trace and, Marin's 5-year old son, CJ played basketball, catch, and whatever else charmed CJ. Marin couldn't help but dream of some one-on-one time with Trace fulfilling her fantasies. But life isn't that easy. Trace is everything her ex-douche-waffle-husband isn't. Someone that appreciates her, charms her, eats ice cream in bed with her and is wound like a tiger. Did I mention he's 19 - yeah let's chat stamina lol.

Their relationship didn't come easy; expectations of others and community gossip are tough obstacles to overcome. However, Trace was determined to make his fantasy of Marin a reality. The story was a little fantasy mixed with a harsh reality. Life is full of unexpected turns, but this story ended deliciously and left my heart full.
