Not much chemistry between Sinclair and Stone. Weak reconciliation after denying their mating urges for 5 years. Creating a pack was a nice continuation for the series.

I am so torn with this book. On one hand I loved it, on the other hand it was so damn stupid that I would have ripped it apart if I was in a different mood.

Spoilerish

Both characters were to stupid to live... and I rarely use that term. Sinclair is a handler for a group of assassins but he is to stupid to realize that someone is trying to kill him among other things... he’s literally shocked by so many things.

The relationship if even worse. Where the emotion was really strong and the rest was so stupid... like these guys literally wanted each other for 5 years but stood away because the other thought they weren’t wanted.... I can see Sinclair’s point of thinking in that area but not Stones... Stone barely explains his thinking on the situation. Even worse Stone goes from worrying about how sick Sinclair is and taking care of him because he was poisoned to screwing him... Really?

Anyways, I did enjoy it, the banter was great and the emotion had all the feels, but it lacked in the smarts area. Like I said another day and I would have dogged, so I’m going to rate it right down the center. And you can bet your sweet ass I’ll read the next.

I had so much fun with Bob and Shade’s story, the first novella in this new series by Stormy Glenn, and I couldn't wait to see who would be featured next. Stone. *shiver* Talk about a rough, strong, yummy assassin. I couldn't wait to see how he would work with Sinclair, the current acting councilman of the panthers since the former was taken down for embezzling and other illegal activities. Stone is a panther shifter. Sinclair is a hyena and permanently relegated to a wheelchair after an assassin's bullet pierced his spine. I eagerly anticipated the heat coming from these two.

For whatever reason, Stone seems to believe he can't claim his mate, and Sinclair misunderstood something he said, so they're both being “super-stoopid-menz”. However, an internal plot to kill Sinclair gets Stone back to the council headquarters in order to protect his mate. There's also the question of the multiple teenage shifter children who have disappeared and the former scum-sucking councilman who didn't bother to investigate. Sinclair is positive something is wrong so he sends Samson and Stryker to look into it.

“My situation isn’t too much different than yours, Shade, except I didn’t discover that Sinclair was my mate until after I pulled the trigger.”
“Oh shit!”
“Fuck me!”
“Dude!”
“That’s so sad.”
I expected the first three responses. Bob’s wasn’t one I thought I’d hear.”

(psst… in case you're wondering… I still love Bob)

It was so exciting to watch these seriously strong assassins hunt down whoever was targeting Sinclair. But the very best part was when they all became a pride (something unique to hyenas so that's all I'm saying) and now Stone, Sinclair, Shade, Bob, Samson, and Stryker, are a family. Oh, and don't forget Mustachio, Bob’s Maine Coon - he likes to go to the park on his leash - and he's absolutely part of the pride. *grins*

What a wonderful ending with a resolution to the missing teenagers and a surprise gift from Stone to Sinclair. Let's just say Mustachio might have a friend to go to the park with. Oh, I can't wait for the next installment - I adore this series and all of the men!

*** A shifter love story ! ***
Here we have Sinclair, a Hyena shifter in a wheelchair, who is on the council. In the last episode we saw Shade and Bob's story. Now we have Stone, a Panther, and Sinclair's story, only it is Stone who fired the shot that paralyzed Sinclair. Sinclair stepped into the line of fire meant for another. We feel Stone's anguish and turmoil, because Sinclair is his fated mate.

Sinclair is suffering because he so desperately wants to be mated to Stone. There's a plot twist with missing children being the focus of an investigation. When Sinclair and Stone finally talk it out with each other, things change. We get super hot sex with these two, and our story is tender and sweet in their emotions. This short story has everything we like !
ENJOY !

3,5* So this story starts pretty angsty ,Both MCs knew they are mates and they love each other immensely BUT they are convinced that the other hate them and want nothing to do with them.

We have an easy solution : They finally TALK 😂

The mystery is short but interesting. Also we knew a bit more of the secondary characters and their bond. I will continue this saga, they are confort reading 👌🏻💕

Flippy-floppy.

Ok. So.... I liked the story. The main part, like the skeleton bones of the story. And I'm super happy that Sinclair got his HEA. And the writing and editing were good enough as always. But....

Minor spoilers maybe?

So... 5 years is a long time for misunderstandings and miscommunication. And it doesn't really make sense anyway, after that blowout I went back and read their dialogue again to see if that really worked and it doesnt. Still seemed like stone was a jerk and didn't care about Sinclair at all. And if we are to believe that so many years had gone by with at least weekly communication shouldn't SOMETHING have come out yet? And Sinclair clearly states that one of the rules of their calls was not to talk about their relationship. So... How was all that negotiated in the first place? If stone actually wanted Sinclair from the beginning it Would have come out no matter how guilty stone felt.

Exploding bullet. It lodged in his spine and couldn't be taken out or it would exp!ode. But the original surgeon could have done it but didn't and that's why stone killed him? That bit was confusing. Would it explode or not? And why would it? If it didn't explode on impact for some reason why would it if it was grabbed in surgery and not just explode randomly if he got the hiccups? It's not sentient. It doesn't care if someone carefully snagged it with some forceps. I can kinda get not shifting because that would change the length and shape of the spine and yeah, I can buy that. And yet... He does and no one is even worried. No one even comments on it and the doctor said his animal might be able to walk eventually? What about the effing bullet?!?!

I can suspend a helluva lot of disbelief but these are huge inconsistencies and that makes me nutters.

Still enjoyed the story though. Just had to take several deep, calming breaths.

I liked this story more then the first book. It was more believable and I could emotional connect with these characters. Though the conflict outside of the two main characters was odd and felt as though the author place them there with little thought or purpose. I defiantly thought the first half of the book was well done and made sense. Though there was a discrepancy from this book and the first in this series. Overall, even though the ending was rushed and lacked cohesion; I would read this book again.

Sinclair has now taken over for Councilman James as leader of the panther shifters. He finds many issues that had been dropped or simply not addressed. Among those issues are seven missing shifter teens. If that is not enough, Sinclair has to deal with the loss of his mate and the fact that someone is trying to kill him. Stone knows that Sinclair is his mate but he stays away due to guilt. Now with someone trying to kill him, Stone refuses to leave him alone. He knows he is the best man to keep Sinclair safe.

So much going on Stone Cold Lover. Sinclair feels as if he cannot trust any of the present staff in his new home. He is sure one of them is behind the attempts on his life, but cannot determine who the culprit is. Stone is determined to find that person. This is book 2 of Assassins, Inc. The assassins are a family of their very own and they know Sinclair is their leader and they join forces with Stone to keep Sinclair safe and along the way find out the what happened to the shifter children. Loyalty outweighs misunderstanding while love finally outweighs guilt. The love and devotion between Stone and Sinclair shines from the pages making the reading tender and emotional. Both men have suffered so much. They deserve some happiness. How do they get it? Pick up Stone Cold Lover and find out for yourself. Then join those of us waiting for book three.

While reading Just Bob, I found Sinclair to be intriguing... so, of course, when I saw this book, I jumped right in to read it! Good choice on my part! :D

Yes, Ms. Glenn needs to get a decent proofreader, I feel like banging my head on my reading device every time I read one of her stories... those missing are just a killer! (Did you just catch that? Yep, missing words are a total pain in the ass... just saying!) Missing words aside, I just loved Sinclair to pieces and Stone? Well, as we all know... COMMUNICATION! *shakes head* ;p

I look forward to continuing with this series... Ion would be my next choice of MC to read about... I guess I will just have to wait and see... grrr! hahaha

If you buy a book written by Stormy Glenn you expect some fluff...

And this book is no exception. Ther was certainly a lot of that in here. There was also a bit of angst as a result of... yes, you probably guessed it..... miscommunication. The never ending miscommunication is such an easy way out of a real conflict... I really wished there had been some other explanations to why the two mates didn't get together. It would have made the story more interesting.

I also thought it got a bit too messy in the second half with new elements of kidnapped kids, secret agents, speciesists, prides and how Bob turned out to be an airheaded giggling twins with the maturity of a 10-year old...

If you can look past all that then this is an ok afternoon read.

Me encantó!!! Un libro un tanto diferente para demostrar que no todo es color de rosa y que nuestras acciones pueden traer graves consecuencias y hay q estar preparados para afrontarlas. Sin embargo, con un poco de amor todo es posible.

I had hoped to like this book more than the first one in this series. But Sinclair and Stone's lack of communication an abundance of assumptions drove me crazy. The conclusions they came up with about each other made no sense to me. Literally one open and honest conversation could have saved them from 5 years of grief.

Aside from the relationship drama the rest of the plot was lacking and had some major holes in it. It was obvious (to me at least) who the bad guy was. Everything was wrapped up and over in a few pages. Also even though Bob didn't get a lot of page time in this he still somehow managed to annoy me in this story for the same reasons he did in the first book. So it's another 2 stars from me.

I think this is the best book so far in the serie. I loved the way I instantly connected with Sinclair, it's an emotional book that captured my interest from page one. It was heartbreaking to read about 2 shifters that knows they are mates, just assum what the other person wanted. It was nice when they finaly got together and startet communicating with each other and realise that they had both been wrong. The cat thing thats going on is hillarius and Bob is still the sweetes person in the serie.
