This series has been so much fun! I loved the author’s witty dialogue, the emotional journey, and the beautiful descriptions!
These characters are ones who will stick around with me for a long time! Also, I laughed throughout and yes had some tears!
An awesome thing is at the end when you thing the world is over, there is an additional couple of short stories, which I needed!

such a wonderful end to a fantastic trilogy. one of my favorite bits was that you get 2 small short stories at the end so you dont have to give up the world just yet.
there is no way i can fully explain this book without spoilers but i will just warn you to be prepared to laugh, bite your fingernails off, and cry all in one book. I heavy cried for a good 10 minutes in one of the scenes.
the writing was beautiful and flowed to perfection. this author definitely knows what she is doing to drag you in to the pages and not release you until the very end!

I loved the whole series, but this one was the best.

Once again the author created another amazing story. The books basically picks up where Descent left off and we find out more about how the Seer Silas became and how he was hidden for quite awhile. We are also reunited with the characters I have come to love. The author knows how to create the perfect combination of romance and action. I loved seeing Asha and Aquila's wedding and the fun that they had. Even though the happiness is cut short and they basically have to go to war. I loved how this story came to an end and how we were able to see the different worlds work together, even if that meant they wouldn't be able to go home. The author took a lot of risks with characters that not many would dare to take. Those risks made this story very unique. The story definitely had an ending, but certain details could lead up to other books. Which I really hope, because I loved being in this world. These books deserve so much more attention than they've gotten so far. I can't go in to too much detail without spoiling, but just wow! This book is filled with love and humor, but also with a group of people who consider everyone around them family and who would do anything to save their world.

THIS TRILOGY IS WRITTEN TO PERFECTION.
I can't say it enough - read it now. My heart is going to explode and I have no words to express how much I loved the entire journey. The whole series is so very well-written with just about enough of everything in a YA fantasy novel. It's spectacular, heart stopping, hilarious, HEARTBREAKING, romantic, and fulfilling!!!
I have grown so attached to the characters, saying goodbye is impossible. So very worthy of several re-reads.

You know that heart stopping movie you watched? yes? this book is just.like.that.
It was like they were all real to me. If you noticed, I drag myself to continue and finish book 1. but when I finished, Holy moly!! I can get terminated by reading ebook while on a conference call in the office.
I almost.. almost lash out to the author for not having closure on Lexi and Zaiden. Until I read the post story... and I fell in love...😍😍😍
and I super love the author!!! Thank you!!!!!😘😍

I want to send out a huge thank you to the author who graciously let me review her trilogy, I absolutely loved it!
I'm so sad it's over! It's so bittersweet to have to say goodbye to such an amazing cast of characters. I loved everything about this series.. it was action packed with humor and romance thrown in! I was smiling, laughing and crying with the characters. Everything was so well explained throughout the trilogy that it felt I was really there. The world felt real, and the characters were very relatable and fun. These were stories of bravery, loyalty, love and friendship.. With each character having their own journey to see through to the end.
Severance started off where Descent left off with the Seer and Lexi waking up from what they endured in book 2 in the Upperworld of Tapas. As they gather for a feast before they leave the Upperworld to celebrate the upcoming marriage of Asha and Aquila, a fluffy dragon creature that predicts future deaths gives a wedding present to Asha... the prediction of the death of someone close to her... The problem is she can only save this person, or save the world.
While everyone is trying to keep this character safe, Silas(the Seer) has a vision that they have to save Ranya, (who has been captured and is being tortured by the Asura who she tried to exterminate) in order to destroy all the portals and fulfill the Triputi Prophecy. Let me say, without giving anymore of the story line away that it was packed full of action and there were no "lulls" in this book. The action started from page one, continued through the end, and even continued into the two short stories at the end of the book!
I couldn't recommend this trilogy any more, it was amazing and I couldn't put it down!

Loved this! As with the first and second book it was FABULOUS! Loved the writing style and can't wait to see what else the author creates!

This book was a pretty epic conclusion to an amazing but so so underrated series. The author made some daring choices in this last book and I loved it so much. I shed a LOT of tears while reading it haha, for me that's definitely a sign of a good book.
One again this book felt quite different from the previous one, it does continue the story but it takes turns you will not see coming. I don't think anyone would've guessed this ending after reading the first book. I really enjoy surprising books like this one. I kept talking out loud, 'no she wouldn't do this, would she?', and yes Singh did! I tweeted some updates while reading this book to which the author replied, it was so much fun interacting with her while reading.
The book took a couple of turns that made me think we would never get another book in this world, however in the end we got a sliver of hope for another possible book (series). I have no idea if Singh would ever consider coming back to this world but I sincerely hope she does. Apart from a very enjoyable world I love this characters so much. That's another reason it's so sad hardly anyone knows about these books, I can't find any fanart or merch for it. I would love some magnetic bookmarks with these characters...
his cast of characters is super diverse and so loveable. I enjoyed all the different POV's, this also gave insight to what was happening at different places in the story. Asha is great heroine and I loved that she wasn't simply the Chosen One, this made her a bit more relatable and the whole series more realistic in my opinion. Silas was more of a Chosen One and while we did get to know him more, I didn't feel like I really knew him. While we were definitely rooting for the good guys, it isn't simply because you know all about the Chosen One. The characters surrounding Silas are so much more important to you, and to be honest I didn't care for a second whether he would live or die. I thought that was quite refreshing! Now, Jax and Kelakha I did care about, and A LOT at that. They are so adorable but so strong in their own rights as well. They both have their talents and are important to the story. I love seeing more of them.
The story line around Lexi, Nidhan, and Zaiden continues in this installment and is one of those bold choices in my opinion. I loved Lexi and Nidhan so much in the first book, and to have that completely turned on its head in the second book was quite a shock. We get to see more of Zaiden in this one and I was so conflicted on where I wanted this to go. I loved how this all tied together with the overall story and I definitely needed some Kleenex to get me through the ending.

“Severance” is the third and final installment of the Infernal Guard series and picks up a couple of months after “Descent” left off- just enough time for our heroes to have healed from their last fight.
At this point in the series you’ve been introduced to all of the key players and so you don’t have to worry about new introductions, just becoming crazy attached to your faves from the previous books. A lot of the characters move into their final character arc, but this book specifically seemed to focus on Lexi as she had the most growth to left.
I won’t go into specifics as this is the last book in the series and I don’t want to spoil anything, but once again Singh has laid her heart into her writing and brought forth an amazing story of love, loss and hope. The pacing is fantastic, and this third book specifically really gives you a chance to see our heroes happy before facing a final fight together. There are a lot of hard choices to be made, not always the right ones, but this is a story about humans and humans make mistakes.
The final couple of chapters left me feeling emotionally drained as I cried into a blanket. No war is won without causalities and with such fantastic characters it’s hard not to feel like you aren’t losing a friend.
The book ends with an epilogue based three years in the future, and it has a lot more closure than some epilogues I’ve read (I’m looking at you Deathly Hallows!) And if you’re like me and you’re just not ready to let go of these characters, you can read the two bonus short stories in the back of the book while you private message the author “HOW DARE YOU.” That happened. I did that. I don’t regret it. She PM’d me back and was very nice for someone having been verbally attacked about her novel at 3AM; she talked me down from my emotional break and we discussed some of our favorite books.
I encourage you to read this wonderfully diverse series and fall in love as I have done with Singh’s writing, and then with her as a person.

What a fitting end to the infernal guard series. Can't wait to read the next adventure.

I feel kind of deflated to be waving goodbye to the Guard. The trilogy as a whole was a fast and intense read for me (it was that engrossing!) and now I'm not quite sure what to do with myself.
Severance seems to take a bit longer to pick up than the two that came before it, and that did irk me slightly at first but the further I got into the story, the clearer it became that the relatively calm early chapters weren't there without good reason. In hindsight, they have 'before the storm' written all over them.
There is more than one kick-in-the-heart moment in this closing to a wonderful trilogy, and if not for the two bonus stories following the main text ('Blame it on the Muchenici' and 'The Koh Tao Vampires, Or How Lexi Finally Pulls Her Head Out Of Her Ass'), I might have found myself with a heavier book hangover. They both rounded everything off so wonderfully, though, offering the reader a well-needed narrative hug.
I am happy to have been able to read this series, and I can see myself rereading it in the future. I'd recommend all three without hesitation.

Gripping final instalment to a great trilogy!
Again, I loved this book. As with the first two books, there is plenty of action, romance, friendships, laughter and swearing... as I'm sure many of us can relate to.
The author gets you very attached to the characters and there are some parts in the book that are sad... I'm not ashamed to say I shed a few tears!
I'm going to miss reading these books and I definitely wish there were more... I'm not ready to leave these characters and their world behind, but, I'm also very much looking forward to seeing what the author has to offer next... OK, I'm ready for the films now!! ;-)

S.G.D. Singh doesn't disappoint in the third installment of The Infernal Guard trilogy. As with Emergence and Descent, Severance immerses you in the world of the Infernal Guard. I became attached to many of the characters and shared their triumphs and losses. I hate to see this story end. But, the journey was great. This trilogy will definitely be one to reread. In trying to keep this spoiler free I will just say that I highly recommend this trilogy to anyone with interest in this genre. I look forward to reading the next book this wonderful author has coming out May 1st 2018, Exiled to Freedom.

Severance is the third installment in The Infernal Guard. This series was really fun to read. Am a bit heartbroken, but I can see it sometimes hard decisions have to be made by authors. All the feels are real and I didn't think I was going to get attached to anyone. If you haven't picked this series up yet, what are you guys waiting for. Especially if you enjoy vampires, demons, ghouls and any creature you can imagine. SGD Singh I can not wait to read more of your awesome work.

Amazing ending to a fantastic trilogy by a brilliant author. The last few scenes (and a bunch in the middle) made me sob which says everything you need to know. I was so attached to these characters that when the end came, I really wasn't ready to say goodbye. Can't wait to read what SiriGuruDev writes next! <3 <3 <3

SPOILER ALERT
I loved this book. The ending left me feeling cheated because it skips 3 years into the future. Ive got give my honest opinion so here it is: Aside from Lexi's bratty affluenza and her pinchon for foul language, I enjoyed watching the characters evolve. I must say, I really could have did without Lexi's character but what's a YA novel without a rich brat who is lucky enough to be badass with weapons?
I was so sad when Kai died. My heart ached for Satish. I wish I could have read more about how their relationship progressed. And Kenda and Sashi, that came out of left field. Siri, whered they come from?
I might have missed it but when did Silas wake up after that last battle? How did Satish and Dinesh wind up in each others arms? What about Koko? did he ever find love?
And wow the change with Nidhan? He secrets away and puts the Eternal Mark with Lexi's blood on himself? Why? Yes I know he loved her but they were not meant to be and I thought Nidhan understood that?
Color me completely confused. Poor Zaiden, in the same boat sort of as Lexi...no choice and no one asked him how he felt about any of it. That was not fair. His feelings and his heart should have been taken into consideration. Lexi was so selfish, didnt even care enough to apologize to Zaiden because Hello, he felt your feelings too!!!! He deserved way better treatment from her.
Okay...enough with my monologue of the characters. I truly loved the book. The world created was astoundingly beautiful in my mind...even Atala and all the nasty other places and creatures. The storyline was amazing and it kept me on the edge of my seat from Emergence to Severance. I would love some spin offs or novellas about MY favorite characters, Jax and Kehlahka. They have grown on me and Jax has some qualities I possess. She made me laugh with her attitude and Kehlahka was so cute in his courting of her. Id love to see what this duo could do together.
Thanks for a marvelous trilogy. I will not forget this ride for a long long time.

Beautiful, amazing, exciting conclusion to a great series. All the strong points of the first two books, but even stronger. I do have a soft spot for heroically throwing oneself into certain death in order to save those you love, and this book punched me nicely in that spot a couple of times. :)
Everything comes to a satisfying conclusion - but only if you read all the extra material at the end.
Of course, had gotten the impression that it would conclude with the realm being safe from underworlders for the rest of time - but that wouldn't have left room for great follow-up stories, so I'm not disappointed to have been wrong.
Definitely worth the read.
