Ahora sí que entiendo todas esas reacciones que leía en redes. Madre mía! Qué pasada!
Pero no es solo la última viñeta, es todo lo que pasa y cómo pasa, y Richard,... Por cierto, adoro a Catesby, sale tan poquito que me quedo con ganas de verle más. Buckingham también me gusta mucho aunque por otros motivos: es un personaje muy interesante y da mucho juego.
Estoy deseando ponerme con el resto. Lo que he disfrutado con este número!

Probably THE BEST ONE so far.
It surprised me a lot this volume, like A LOT. I was in shock every single chapter. The last one!!! I can not believe.

Przeskok w czasie względem ostatniego tomu nie jest najprzyjemniejszym rozwiązaniem. Wszyscy wyglądają teraz inaczej i nie umiałam się zorientować kto jest kim, fabuła też przyspieszyła i ogólnie zrobił się jeden wielki misz-masz.
Wiadomo, jak co tom plot-twist na końcu, ale przez zmiany w wyglądzie bohaterów, nie wiem nawet o kogo chodziło XD
Kolejny tom jest już ostatnim, który przeczytam, więc mam nadzieję że seria zakończy się dla mnie z przytupem

OMG I can’t believe it!
I was wondering where Henry went? I can’t believe he is a bloody killer 😲
And ick, Edward is a useless hedonist- not fit to be king at all 🤢
It’s interesting because all these characters have flaws- mostly flaws 😅- but its intriguing to see what they will do to achieve their goal. It’s still pretty messed up though- everyone is paranoid and resentful and cunning up to level 10 😭

May 2018: 5 Stars
Once I got used to where everyone was at in the time skip, I really enjoyed the story. I'm not sure how this Act will compare to the first one, but time will tell.
As for that major reveal at the end, I will only make two statements: LEAVE HIM ALONE. LET HIM BE AT REST.

Comienza el segundo acto de Réquiem por el rey de la rosa.
Años han pasado desde la última batalla entre los York y los Lancaster donde los primeros se hicieron claramente con la victoria. Siendo un rey sin oposición, Edward se limita a reinar Inglaterra y ha vivir la vida siguiendo sus más bajos instintos. Debería ser un momento de paz dentro del seno de la familia York, pero los resentimientos de George por su hermano mayor rompen la buena ventura de los hermanos.
A todo esto, Richard se limita a seguir los mandatos de su rey y a vivir únicamente por el bien de los York y dispuesto a todo por protegerla. Pero las cosas se tienen cuando una mujer que se dice ser una bruja se hace amante del rey y Richard se percata de que el paraíso no está en el reinado de su hermano sino en la corona
Un tomo espectacular donde la historia no deja de crecer y mejorar. Este cambio de tono ya comenzó en tomo 6 y nada hace presagiar que la acción y las intrigas decaigan.
Para mí, uno de los shojos que más estoy disfrutando.

At this point, Richard is the only person left in the House of York who's levelheaded enough to be king: George has always been an idiot and Edward is too busy indulging in debauchery to rule. Just when you thought this series can't get more extra, Aya Kanno throws witches into the mix. Not to mention that reveal in the last chapter! It's super obvious who he's supposed to be and I'm so excited to see the new role he'll play in the story.

The manga skips all the years of more-or-less peace, during which Richard spent most of his time in Middleham in the north and fought the Scots in the borderlands. King Edward took to feasts, women and all that. And the nobles are getting restless. Many unfortunate things happen and everybody's plotting again.
Which brings us to the second act of this series, as Kanno dubs it. I very much enjoy the story still even though there is a couple of things that I don't like even when I was prepared for them. One thing is Anne, who's left sad and lonely. I had tiny hope she would become an ally to Richard (because I knew there wouldn't be true love between them in this story) but looks like all she'll have is misery. (Sorry to go on about this but Richard & Anne are my historical OTP... and even though I know this is more based on Shakespeare plays than real life.)
The other thing is Beth, the eldest daughter of Edward and Elizabeth. I have a bad feeling Kanno will bring the stupid marriage rumour into play later...
But, those aside, the plotting and stealthy forming of alliances and the really-not-subtle dropping of hints for things to come are intriguing and tension-filled. The witch plotline brings a fantastical flavour to the story, it's not my favourite thing but I don't mind. It's entertaining for sure.
The art is superb as ever, this volume had more beautiful clothes and elegant figures that the previous one. Feast for eyes.
And oh boy that last page!

Yo ya no se qué decir sobre este manga.
Cada tomo que leo me hace flipar en todos los colores, y la historia cada vez se pone más fuerte y con giros tremendos.

REREAD 2024: Aquí aparece un nuevo personaje que me encanta y se reúnen más que son de mis favoritos. Y TODO LO QUE PASA?? DIOS MÍO😭 DRAMA Y DESASTRES.

"Las desgracias suceden cuando menos te lo esperas. Pueden impactar poco o calar en lo profundo del ser, dejando heridas para el resto de tu vida. Ten una cosa clara, nunca serás el mismo cuando lo sufras."
Este tomo ha jugado conmigo. Me ha tenido en tensión desde el inicio hasta el final, algo en lo que esta obra es experta. Sabe muy bien como crear tensión o desesperación, y más aún como transmitirlo.
Aunque si que es cierto que es bastante introductorio, ya se están moviendo los hilos para un nuevo derramamiento de sangre. La presentación de nuevos personajes a la trama y el salto temporal que da, donde se nos muestran las cicatrices de los anteriores hechos o el daño irreparable que tiene en sus vidas actuales.
Muchos de ellos han tenido que abandonar sus fantasías juveniles, donde vivirían muy felices con su verdadero amor, y aceptar su dura realidad. Otros no pudieron afrontar el pasado, olvidándose incluso de sí mismos. Incluso algunos siguen esperando entre las sombras su gran momento, en el cual harán lo posible para alzarse y triunfar. Todo esto se enlaza muy bien en este tomo, y solo hace que quiera seguir con esta obra.

Oh dear, time skips are difficult. They all look different now ... well, some of them, but I didn´t recognize Buckingham at all!
This volumes was about Richards and Edwards brother George entirely. I feel so sorry for him.
I don´t even dare to read the next volume. I watched the play of Richard III in the theatre 4 years ago, so I know what is going to happen to him. Only I didn´t like the George in the play as much as i like George in the manga.
I am still sad about Edward of Lancaster. He was - apart from Henry VI- the purest soul here.
This manga comes to show what ambition and the strife for power can do to you.
And it´s even worse, when the strife is not your own motivation but that of others.
There are some characters with a real hunger for power and it´s their hunger and devours the souls and lives of others.

This volume has a timeskip after the events of volume 7. Richard seems like all he is doing is going with the flow, Anne has a child(presumbly Edwards(lancaster)). He looks super cute with her hair by the way.
George is now a raging alcoholic(who drops his baby by the way WTFs George.)
Edward is cheating on his wife and now doesn't seem to care about her. It's a mess. This is one dysfunctional family. I kind of feel bad for her ya know. She may have seduced him to get what she wanted but now he kind of threw her to the side.
Buckingham got a glow up and now is giving gendo ikari vibes.
A lot of fun, a lot of weird. This series just keeps getting weirder, but until something weirds me out too much ill keep reading it!

I really enjoyed the timeskip actually, I was wondering if they were going to depict the events leading up to the start of Richard III but it's nice that the events were rearranged such the marriage with Anne happened first, then we got the timeskip. Like how the new players were introduced, such as Beth and Jane. Love Richard's slight tweak to his appearance, he does look more mature and jaded. And obviously... looooooooooove Buckingham's new appearance.
The ending of Vol 7 did leave me some doubts and I am not surprised with the reveal at the end of Vol 8, knowing what that character does in the play, I'm interested to see how the character is implemented in this.

Woow este tomo es increíble, no dejan de suceder cosas que dan mucho que hablar. Mi pobre Anne 💔 no merece ese trato. Edward cada vez peor... aunque el personaje de Jane es bastante interesante.
James Tyrell también me da la sensación de que será un personaje intrigante. Aya Kanno sabe perfectamente que deja los tomos en lo más interesante...

To think I'm not even halfway through this series yet. This volume in particular was very unhinged.
It always amuses me to read Kanno's blurb at the end telling me she's the author of Otomen, especially after a volume of so much sexual debauchery, depression, and violent imagery. Shoujo manga is truly a spectrum.

OMG ESA APARICIÓN FINAL, OMG OMG.
Y diré más. Qué bien juega la autora con el tono shakesperiano de la obra. O sea, esto es la guerra de las dos rosas, sí, pero no porque sí, sino porque Shakespeare. Y se nota MUCHO la influencia no sólo de las obras en las que se basa, sino también Hamlet o Macbeth and I think it's beautiful.

This volume was literally so good! I can’t stop winning with my reads lately. Richard is also very Viktor from arcane coded to me. Like the androgyny, the struggle, the self sacrifice. It’s so good!! Richard is such an endlessly interesting character. I am enthralled with the plot at this point in the story too.

Como el anterior tomo.. vaya intensidad! Me ha encantado el salgo temporal y poder ver a los protagonistas mucho más adultos y retorcidos que en tomos anteriores. Ha sido un tomo muuuuuy intenso y ufff.... esa viñeta final! 🥲❤️🩹
