Another stellar novella collection from Barbour. Love the theme of this one because, really, who doesn't swoon just a teensy bit at the mention of a Texas Ranger?! And there's a great prologue and epilogue that anchor these stories in a very satisfying way. These Rangers are under the direction of Captain Sterling who oversees their work routines but it is the captain's wife, Etta, who has the final say on 'her boys' personal lives. And that means these Rangers are about to meet their matrimonial matches! This is just reading goodness all 'round.
The Ranger's Reward by Gabrielle Meyer -- A routine check on an isolated widow turns into anything but for Texas Ranger Griffin Sommer when the Markham gang show up at the ranch. Griff suddenly finds himself undercover. playing the role of husband to Evelyn and pa to young Harrison . Cue toe-curling kisses as tensions rise and danger threatens. Woot! A heart-pounding read-in-one-sitting kind of novella.
More Precious Than Rubies by Lorna Seilstad -- Hearts collide when schoolyard sweethearts Violet Tatienne and Texas Ranger Whit Murray reconnect on the train during a robbery. He's sworn to bring the robbers to justice but Violet has a vested interest in hunting the villains down too -- they stole the gems she was transporting to her father's jewelry store. Cue the fireworks as this exasperated ranger tries to curtail Violet's inexperienced sleuthing while doing his own. Great blend of humour and danger and sweet romance.
Jesse's Sparrow by Amanda Barratt -- Sara Byrne has escaped a life of prostitution and has finally saved up enough money to rescue the girls she left behind in captivity...until she becomes the victim of a stagecoach robbery. Left stranded and penniless, Sara has no choice but to accept the help of Texas Ranger Jesse Rawlings. Her past has made her wary of men and trust for the ranger doesn't come easily. Luckily Jesse has a compassionate heart and the patience of Job. This story has a more serious nature than the others and the author has included a heartfelt note appealing to readers to take a stand against human trafficking in all its evil forms.
The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y'barbo -- Classic star-crossed lovers with nefarious villains thrown in. Ava Becker and Texas Ranger Ezra Creed were an item once upon a time. Now they are thrown together again when a horse thief connected to the notorious Markham gang pays a visit to the Becker ranch. Heated emotions unmask a deeper yearning as these two set out to find justice...and lost love.
Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis -- Ranger O'Neal Brewster has a thing for pretty bank teller Augusta Ferris. He flirts and she deflects but O'Neal is sure she's destined to be in his future...until the bank is held up and Augusta is taken hostage. Now it's up to the intrepid Ranger to track the Markham gang and rescue his damsel in distress. Only there's a whole lot of feisty buried beneath the bank teller's prim exterior and O'Neal is in for some surprises. Humour and action make this a super fun read.
Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough -- Micah McCullough is working undercover as a member of the notorious Markham gang. The Texas Ranger has a plan that runs to ground when the gang kidnaps a young woman who they believe can create counterfeit money plates. But though Laurel Underwood is a prize winning silversmith she knows she will be unable to deliver on the Markham's demands. Suddenly Micah's mission switches from information gathering to rescuing the lady hostage. Tension and fear heighten emotions and Laurel and Micah soon discover that escaping to freedom holds untold promises if they can spend it together.
Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch -- Branch Kilborn is the last bachelor Texas Ranger in Hartville and he aims to keep it that way. And then Constance Spanner witnesses a murder and he's tasked with keeping her safe until she can testify. Tough ol' rough-around-the-edges Branch is suddenly intrigued, But he finds that Constance is a guarded woman whose grit and determination are more than enough to keep him at bay. Which, oddly enough irks him to no end. Subtle humour add to this action-packed conclusion to the Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers Romance Collection.
My thanks to author Lorna Seilstad for providing me with a copy of this book.
I liked the premise of this collection- each story features a Texas Ranger that is working to apprehend members of a notorious gang of robbers, and they each fall in love and have some success capturing at least one of the outlaws, with the final story wrapping up the case. I enjoyed the writing style and storytelling of some authors more than others; my favorite was probably Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough. It was interesting and unique from the other stories with Micah undercover and Laurel as a prisoner of the gang. The subplots with Laurel's relationship with her father and the young son of one of the outlaws brought depth to the romance and showed admirable qualities of the main characters. I also enjoyed Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch because Branch is the least likely of the rangers to fall in love and adamantly opposed to it, so his journey towards romance was fun to read ;)
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)
Saddle up and get ready for adventure and romance with the Company B Texas Rangers! Set in 1866, Hartville, Texas, a town settled by the Hart family, introduced in the delightful collection, Seven Brides for Seven Texans. The Hart brothers and other characters pop in and out of the stories, but this book has a colorful cast all of its own, centered on the brave, chivalrous and loyal Texas Rangers who have come to bring in the terrible Markham gang once and for all. They are like the knights of old, or a band of brothers as they work together bringing justice. The stories all build on the previous one, making it feel like a full length novel, complete with a nice wrap up at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed them all!
"Courage was feeling the fear yet choosing to act." Full of action, adventure, and tender romance, each story has a dangerous brush with the gang putting a ranger and a lady in peril. The women in these stories rise to the occasion, and are a real variety, from a young widow and her son, a former 'soiled dove', to women in business, and former loves. They have a strength and fortitude all their own, sometimes complicating the situations with their own plans. The faith of some brings inspiration, as they quote Scripture and pray for help and courage when in danger. "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear." Psalm 46:1,2
A thoroughly enjoyable collection, sure to delight readers who enjoy clean western adventure romances. Recommend! 4.5 stars

Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is a romantic western adventure with a healthy dose of humor and faith! As readers make their way through these happily ever afters, the balance of variety and continuity blur the lines between the lives of these normally solitary rangers as they unite and justice prevails. I heartily recommend this story to fans of sweet western romance and (fictional) Hartville, TX!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
Great collection of novellas about Texas Rangers. These were a breed apart, men who upheld the law all over the great state of Texas. Perfect read for a slow day or vacation . Or just anytime. None are very long and they are so sweet. My favorite was Amanda Barratt's contribution. But all are good!
*My thanks to the publisher for a preview copy of this book via Net Galley. My opinion is my own and honest.
"I'm not looking for a woman." . . . . "You might not be looking, but one might've found you."
Return to Hartville, Texas where you will enjoy reading this delightful collection of stories regaling the merits of romance, especially when attraction of the feminine nature manages to arrest some of the toughest men on the face of the earth; Texas Rangers. Ranging from a young widow to a silversmith, from a hat maker to a countess; a former soiled dove, a jeweler and a bank teller; they each successfully prove that under every silver badge beats a heart just waiting to be captured by love.
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is a collection of seven great stories by seven great authors. These stories include: The Ranger’s Reward by Gabrielle Meyer More Precious than Rubies by Lorna Seilstad Jesse’s Sparrow by Amanda Barratt The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y’Barbo Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch Prologue and Epilogue, also, by Erica Vetsch It is a tough choice, but Erica Vetsch’s Guard Your Heart would have to be my favorite. Great collection! 5 plus stars.
I love when authors collab on a similar subject. I have read all of these authors before, so I was familar with their work. Each story is easy to read, unique and interesting. Each bring their own flair to the table. They are all woven together in this amazing collection. I absolutly loved it! Thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for a copy of this book.
I love this kind of book, where there are multiple stories written by different authors, but the same characters appear in each story. It intrigues me how the authors collaborate.
This book takes place after Seven Brides for Seven Texans.....and I am not sure which collection I like the best. The Hart family from the other book make some appearances in this one. It was an enjoyable read....all 7 stories.
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is a captivating collection of western novellas that revolve around seven hunky Rangers whose lives take unexpected turns with newfound loves. Each story is peppered with elements of danger, mystery, and romance, and I especially love the underlying theme of faith that runs through them all.
I adore anthologies, collections, and series that share common themes, characters, and settings. The focus on Texas Rangers, who serve as protectors, adds an extra layer of fun, intrigue, and charm.
Choosing a favorite story is challenging because I found each one enjoyable in its own unique way. The distinct voices and nuances of the writers make every tale a delightful read.

Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is one of the best books I have read for 2017. Seven great stories and authors. Where to begin.
The Ranger's Reward by Gabrielle Meyer
Griffin Sommer, Griff, is sent by the Captain to check on Widow Prentis. Imagine Griff’s shock as he sees Evelyn is a young woman with a 5-year-old son. They take him in to eat dinner when the Markham Gang shows up with one of their men shot. Playing as Eveylyn’s husband they take the man in and try and mend him before Cass, the leader comes back with his father.
The Markham gang is why the Rangers are in Hartsville to finally get rid of this gang. But Griff has an even bigger problem. How can he get information from the man who killed his ranger father and protect Evelyn and her son?
Griff and Evelyn are great to watch as she was so down on herself for never being able to do things right. Her ex-husband always told her she was no good. It was nice to see them both grow with each other.
More Precious than Rubies by Lorna Seilstad
Whitt is getting tired of the Markham’s getting away and when the bandits stop the train he is on to get some jewels he is shocked to see Violet. He learns that the jewels were for her father’s business back in Hartsville. They needed these to keep their shop going and survive.
Violet is shocked to see the man who left her long ago to be a Ranger. Can she trust him to help her find the jewels without losing her heart again?
Whit and Violet were fun to read about. The care she takes with her dad is nice and the way Whit finally comes to grips that he doesn’t have to leave Hartsville to find a better adventure is fun.
Jesse’s Sparrow by Amanda Barratt
Sara has escaped a life being a prostitute and promises the other young girls she will be back to save them. After a while, she as saved enough money to go back and save the girls. On her way, the stagecoach is robbed and they take her carpet bags.
Jesse takes her back to town even though Sara doesn’t trust him. Will she let him help her find the money and help find the girls?
This was a touching story of keeping your word and helping girls that don’t need to be in that line of work. Sara also learns what it means to trust a man an honest man.
The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y’Barbo
Ava is back home from overseas as the man she just married had died. She learns that the man who is to buy her brother’s horse is the man she loved all along but left her.
Ezra is shocked to learn that Ava sold the horse to another man after he already paid a few weeks ago for the horse. Ava insists she helps him find the man in Austin that bought the horse and get it back but will Ezra be able to get answers he is looking for and the horse without losing his heart again?
These two were fun to watch as Ava can give as good as she gets and Tiny her guard is fun to read about. This story will keep you on your toes.
Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis
O’Neal is making his monthly deposit and trying to ask Augusta a question when the bank gets robbed. O’Neal can’t do a thing as it is at the Markham gang and they know he is a ranger. They take Augusta with them as a hostage but can O’Neal save her in time and catch the gang?
O’Neal and Augusta are great she tries to cook for the gang and they don’t like it much and let her go and she runs into O’Neal. They worked well together and was fun to watch.
Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough
Micah is working undercover in the Markham gang when a woman they kidnapped is helped in one of the cabins. Laurel doesn’t know what she is going to do as they want her to make counterfeit money. Lane, one of the gang members son, brings her food and they talk and become friends. Micah tries to help and Laurel is fond of both. She escapes and Micah and Lane go with her as Lane has a secret.
This was a fun read learning about Lane more and Laurel is stronger than she thinks. Micah was a caring man.
Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch
Branch is in no way ever getting married like the other men in the company. He sees women as holding them back and getting in the way. The men can’t concentrate as part of them misses their wives. When e has to guard the Spanner sisters he is not sure he can put up with the oldest Clarice.
Constance is the witness to a murder but when the gang mistakes her sister and threatens her Branch is to make sure she stays safe to testify but can he keep from falling for her? What about her who trust no man.
I really like these two as neither one wanted to fall in love or get married and the author does a great job with these two stubborn characters.
*** I am voluntarily reviewing an Advanced Reader Copy of this book***
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers was a delightful and exciting story! It was wonderful to step back and visit Hartville again! And to catch up on old friends. This book was very exciting to read! Each story had its charm and characteristics. I loved how the stories centered on Texas Rangers - a tough, law abiding group built solidly with muscles, stubbornness, and grit. Each story is covered with action as they try to catch Markham gang. And you cannot forget the romance!
Prologue by Erica Vetsch And let the story be born of the Seven Mighty Rangers. A great lead into the story from Erica Vetch! The Ranger’s Reward by Gabrielle Meyer A Texas Ranger sent on assignment to check on a what he thinks is an old widow, gets more than what he bargains for. Griff and Evelyn have their fair share of playacting to do, but when it is all over, they discover far more worth in each other.
More Precious than Rubies by Lorna Seilstad This is a great quote! “The storms will come. They always do. But we must remember where our shelter can be found.” Whit expects adventure all his life. Violet is shy and leads a quiet life as the jeweler’s daughter. A train robbery brings these young sweethearts back together. And together they discover more than adventures but treasures of the heart.
Jesse’s Sparrow by Amanda Barratt Sarah runs for freedom. Captured as a child to be used and abused into prostitution. Jesse meets her after her stagecoach is robbed. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. Love comes along with trust.
The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y’Barbo Aza and Ezra were supposed to elope. A continent, a lie, then restoration brings these two back together. Aza and Ezra work together to get his horse back but they find something more valuable than in each other.
Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis Augusta is a bank teller. O'Neal comes to the bank to deposit his earnings. A bank robbery happens while he is there. They take off with Augusta and he is hot on their trail. These two cook up a scheme to get the money back and love stirs up.
Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough Micah's undercover. Laurel's been kidnapped. He becomes her protector in the gang camp. Together they escape. Together they find value and love.
Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch Two people more determined than ever not to marry. Constance ran from Shrevport because of false accusations from her ex-fiancé. Branch a fierce Ranger set in his ways. These two are thrust together after Constance witnesses a murder and Branch is ordered to protect her. Love and marriage doesn't seem impossible.
Disclosure statement: I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors, including Netgalley. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
What I loved: My favorite part of this type of collections is the deep connection between each story. Instead of seven completely different stories, it feels like one overarching story when you get a peek at each swoon-worthy hero. And who doesn't swoon over men whose duty in life is to protect and serve? Each hero is depicted with his own quirks and individual personality, but they all have the common thread of a commitment that goes beyond the standard citizen.
I also LOVED how this book was set in the same place as Seven Brides for Seven Texans. Characters from past books reappeared and you got to see bits and pieces of the Hart brothers all over again. Books that connect and series that connect in this way are my absolute favorite.
Favorite Story: While all seven stories are good, my absolute favorite was The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y’Barbo. (And actually I have changed this at least twice, so you know the stories are good.) I loved how the heroine was a determined spitfire and not one to just standby... which also leads to heaps of trouble. Ezra is a great hero with a soft heart.
Who would like this: Anyone who loves historical stories with strong heroes, heroes whose profession is a lawman, heroines who range from stubborn to docile, and dangerous situations that bring couples together. Those who especially like connected storylines will love this.
Rating and Why: I give this story 5 stars. If you haven't figured it out, the connectedness of all the stories really bumps the rating up. However, the action, dialogue, and characters are all excellent. Some stories are better than others, but I can't think of one that I did not enjoy, and usually, in a collection, there is one that I am meh on.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this story on #netgalley through the publisher for review purposes. The opinions above are completely my own and not influenced in any way.
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers Romance Collection: 7 Rangers Find Love and Justice on the Texas Frontier
The year of 1886 is a busy one for the seven Texas Rangers tracking the infamous Markham gang across Texas. Chasing the bad-guys does not stop them from finding love, far from it, in fact it is during this hunt they each find romance, often in surprising places or circumstances. Each story is filled with challenges, dangers, humor, surprises, faith and romances. I like how each story is connected to the other stories with some of the same characters in each one. I also like that we revisit the fictional town of Hartville, Texas in which we were first introduced to in the Seven Brides for Seven Texans collection. It is great to see some of the characters from that book in this collection. I enjoyed reading the historical notes at the end of the story, The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y’Barbo. Historical notes always add to the story it is related to. The prologue sets the “stage” for the characters and gives the Texas Rangers their orders and the epilogue ties up everything nicely in this heartwarming romantic western adventure.

Barbour books has taken a bit of a turn with this particular novella collection. All of the stories include the same characters, the same plot line, and the same villains. Seven young Texas Rangers have been transferred to Hartville with the task of capturing the Cass Markham gang who have been terrorizing the area.
The captain of the group is recently married and his wife is anxious that all of the rangers in his command also find the joys of marriage, and therefore makes it her mission to match them all up. Each ranger finds himself in the company of a woman who is his heart-match, and through the machinations of the Markham gang, finds the woman in trouble and it takes all of his best tricks to rescue her and capture the gang.
As it works out, the gang is captured one by one as the rangers fall one by one to a woman's charms. Because each novella ties into the previous one and into the story as a whole, it is really better than most collections like this.
Five Stars, Two Thumbs Up, and a Texas Ranger to come to your rescue.
My thanks to Barbour Books for allowing me to read and review this book.

A troop of Texas Rangers are brought to Hartville, Texas in 1886 to capture a notorious gang of outlaws. The result is a story of love, God hand, and finding the woman that was meant to be yours, especially when your not looking for her. I liked the continuing but separate stories of these men and woman and how God brought them through danger, courage and determination, and unexpectedly by a gang of outlaws. There are 7 stories in this anthology focusing on each of the Texas Rangers who have come to town. These stories give a second meaning to the town's name of Hartville, for the family who settled there and the hearts given in love by these men and women.

Guard Your Heart by Erica Vetsch December 1886 It's been almost a year since the Rangers have come to Hartsville after the Markham gang and when the businesses are starting to be robbed the towns people are wondering about the Rangers. Constance is running from scandal in Shreveport, LA and has come to live with her sister. They work together in the dress shop. When Branch comes in to warn them about the gang hitting the general store, he can't forget about Constance. She can't forget about him either. They end up at the hotel restaurant eating at different tables. When Branch is called away from the meal the woman isn't happy. It was a nice group of stories that were intertwined with love, courage, and God putting the right people together even though the circumstance might not have been the best. It showed the with his help and courage and determination you can find the person your meant to be with in the most unique situations.
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is a compilation of seven stories written by seven different authors. This is the second book in the Lone Star Brothers series. The stories focus on the rangers stationed at Hartville, Texas while they are on the hunt for the Markham gang. While the stories contain new characters, they also include characters from the previous book in the series, so it is best to read them in order. The stories are well written, easy to read and enjoy. The Rangers are strong caring men who put others safety before themselves and their needs. The stories are fast paced, action packed, suspenseful romance stories that build on each other as the Rangers work to take down the Markham gang as they terrorize the area with train, stagecoach, and bank robberies as well as kidnapping and murder. The Ranger's Reward by Gabrielle Meyer focuses on Ranger Griffin as he returns to Hartville. Making a brief stop to check on a young widow, Madeline, they encounter the Markham gang and are forced to pretend to be married. This is a sweet suspenseful romance story that shows how far Griffin will go to protect others. More Precious Than Rubies by Lorna Sielstad focuses on Ranger Wit while he is riding on a train. The Markham gang hit and steals the jewels Violet is taking back to her father's jewelry store. This is a suspenseful romance story that shows how determined Violet is to reclaim what is taken from her, while Wit does what he can to take care of her. This story points out the courage they have, and the feeling Wit has about courage is feeling the fear yet choosing to act. Jesse's Sparrow by Amanda Barratt focuses on Ranger Jesse and Sara as she tries to leave the life of prostitution. Rangers Jesse and Griffin happen upon a stagecoach that has been attacked by the Markham gang. Jesse just wants to go home but is caught up in helping Sara as she helps her friends also leave the life of prostitution. The Countess and the Cowboy by Kathleen Y'Barbo focus on Ava and Ranger Ezra who planned to marry. When her father found out and sent her overseas to marry a count. Her husband has died, and she has returned home to find the ranch hands caring for the ranch. Knowing a prized horse has been sold to Ezra, she left another man take it when he shows up with the money and story he was sold the horse. Together Ava and Ezra hunt for the horse, getting caught up in situation with the Markham gang. Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis focuses on Ranger O'Neal and young widowed bank teller, Augusta. While making a deposit the Markham gang attack the bank. Augusta is taken hostage by the gang and the Ranger go to rescue her and get the gang. Augusta outsmarts the gang and gets away. One evening while working in the shop, Constance witnesses a murder. Her sister's tendency to gossip about it, makes her a target for the Markham gang and Branch is now assigned to keep her safe. This is a compilation of wonderful novellas offered by Wild Heart Books. I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this story; this is my honest review.
A great collection of novellas. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and these are my voluntary and honest opinions. I was not required to leave a positive review.
The Ranger’s Reward Griff’s and Evelyn’s affection for each other is fast paced, but realistic considering their circumstances. They are threatened and have only each other to trust. Little Harrison is adorable and he learns to love Griff quickly too. Theirs is a very sweet story with a happy ending as Griff finds the answers to questions from his past, Evelyn finds a man worthy of her heart, and Harrison gets his Papa.
More Precious Than Rubies Whit finally finds the adventure that has always been right in front of him. Violet is not the girl he remembers, and Whit just might be ready to think about settling down. They have many dangers along their journey, but they are better together. They both learn the value of surrendering the future to God.
Jesse’s Sparrow Wow! This story deals with hard issues and the determination to be free. Sara has suffered and endured much, yet she still goes forward trying to rescue her friends. She has a deep faith in God that carries her through the hard times. Jesse, though hardened as a lawman, has a compassionate heart and a drive to see justice served for all that suffer. Together they take down some evil men and rescue some precious souls.
The Countess and the Cowboy Ezra and Ava overcome betrayal in the past to have a future. They are a great pair when they work together. Ava is feisty, strong-willed, and bold enough to stand up for herself now; Ezra is a hardened lawman with a passion for justice and honor and a soft spot for Ava. Tiny is a good character in the story with his simple approach to life; he brings some humor to the plot at times. Ezra’s Native American ancestors brings interesting pieces to the plot.
Simple Interest Augusta Ferris is quite an unusual woman; she holds her one against outlaws and plans her own escape. O’Neal and she make a good team at outsmarting the outlaws and getting the goods back. Their romance is sweet and there is humor throughout their interactions.
Partners in Crime Micah is a great male character, such a tough guy but with a heart of gold. Laurel is strong for a woman that gets kidnapped but her compassion is still given to Lane. Lane made the story click together well. The three of the make a good team. I thought this was a great story, equally balanced with bad guys and good ones. Also get to see a little of the Hart brothers and their families again; good bonus!
Guard Your Heart A great conclusion to the collection and the demise of the Markham gang. This one is action-packed! Constance and Branch are both fine with singleness, but one run-in with the gang pushes them together. They are great together!
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers starts on January 1, 1886 in Hartville, Texas when company B of the Texas Rangers is sent to hunt down the infamous Markham gang. Honorary “Mom” of the group Etta Sterling thinks it is time for “her boys” to settle down. Each story features a different Ranger as he works to protect the citizens of Texas and take down the Markhams.
The Ranger's Reward by Gabrielle Meyer features Texas Ranger Griffin Sommer. When Griffin stops to check on “Old Widow Prentis” he finds a lot more than he expected.
More Precious than Rubies by Lorna Seilstad features Ranger Whit Murray . When Whit is reunited with Violet he sees what he left behind. Violet kept him on his toes. I loved the appearance of Chisholm Hart from Seven Brides for Seven Texans !
Jesse's Sparrow by Amanda Barratt *Warning Sara is a soiled dove. Her story is heart wrenching and a tough read. I would caution a parent reading before a young adult. * This was such a beautiful story. I loved getting to know Jesse and Sara. It was touching to see them learn to trust and fall in love.
The Countess and The Cowboy by Kathleen Y'Barbo features Ezra Creed was left behind when Ava went to Europe to marry. When she comes home a year later they learn that things are not as they seem. When they have to work together to catch a horse thief it makes for a hair raising adventure.
Simple Interest by Susan Page Davis features Ranger O'Neal Brewster who has to save a hostage, but she is spunkier than he gave her credit for. I love seeing the ingenuity of Augusta and how they work together to foil the robbers.
Partners in Crime by Vickie McDonough Micah McCullough is undercover and has infiltrated the Markham gang. What he doesn't expect is the Markhams to take a hostage. Laurel has just been named best Sliversmith at the county fair. Laurel and Micah's story was sweet and full of adventure.
Guard your heart by Erica Vetsch features Ranger Branch Kilborn. As the last single man standing in his company Branch does not understand the appeal of Marriage for a Ranger. God has a surprise in store for him when he meets Constance.
I loved this book and returning to Hartville. I hope that the authors will come together for another anthology. I highly recommend this book and will read more by these authors.
1) •The Ranger's Reward• by Gabrielle Meyer 1886 The youngest & newest Texas Ranger, Griff Sommer needs to prove himself. Hopefully, he can find out who killed his father 20 years ago. For now he's given menial jobs, like checking on some widow. But things take a drastic turn and the 2 of them, along with her young son end up fighting for their lives together. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/8/2025
2) •More Precious than Rubies• by Lorna Seilstad As the Rangers continue to seek out The Markham Gang, Whit comes face to face with an entirely different threat; one to his heart in the face of Violet, the woman he left behind. Honestly, she was a bit annoying in her leap-before-you-look attitude, but I did like the romance. A cameo from Chisolm Hart from the previous Novella collection was fun as well. ⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/9/2025
3)•Jesse's Sparrow• by Amanda Barratt This story shines a light on sex trafficking, which makes it a bit heavy. Jesse is an incredibly kind man of faith & a Texas Ranger. Sara has escaped her imprisonment after 9 horrific years. Danger is everywhere & she is forced to trust Jesse. ⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/9/2025
4)•The Countess & The Cowboy• by Kathleen Y'Barbo. I enjoyed reading Ranger Ezra Creed's, story especially his Comanche lineage. When Ava returns into his life they work together against members of The Markham Gang & rekindle a love they both thought lost to time. Ava is quite tough as well. Good tale! ⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/9-10/2025
5)•Simple Interest• by Susan Page Davis O'Neil & Augusta's harrowing adventure after a bank robbery goes sideways & mixes danger, faith, and grit, plus a bit of romance. I like how she could whip out a scripture to fit every situation. I have a horrible memory & can't do that! It felt natural to read, whereas w/some authors it feels forced. Well-done! ⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/10/2025
6)•Partners in Crime• by Vickie McDonough Micah, Laurel & Lane's story really held my interest. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/11/2025
7)•Guard Your Heart • by Erica Vetsch Branch and Constance's story was a my favorite. He is the most opposed to Texas Rangers and females mucking up the works. But, when the newly arrived milliner witness a murder, he is forced to protect her. Happy the Hart family shows up in this one. Very good Western romance! ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read 9/12/2025
I purchased this collection of Novellas from Thriftbooks.com. Adding Reviews for each one as I go.
Not as good as •Seven Brides for Seven Texans• novella collection by most the same authors & based in the same town.
All thoughts and opinions are mine alone without expectation or compensation.
A must read for Western romance fans! Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is an amazing collection of novellas from seven favorite Christian fiction writers. Filled with romance, mystery, suspense, & faith, this collection definitely kept me quickly turning the pages.
In 1875 Texas, the ruthless Markham gang sparks terror across the Western frontier. It’s up to the brave Texas Rangers to bring these thieving outlaws to justice. As they investigate each crime, they find love in the most unexpected circumstances.
In The Ranger’s Reward, Gabrielle Meyer brilliantly kicks off this collection with a heartfelt story of a forced fake marriage. A ranger sent to check up on a young widow & her son soon find themselves trapped at the ranch when the Markham gang arrives with a wounded man in need of tending. I loved how forced proximity & needing to work together make love blossom.
Lorna Seilstad, Amanda Barratt, Kathleen Y’Barbo, Susan Page Davis, & Vickie McDonough creatively continue the story with train & bank robberies, rescuing children from child trafficking, a countess accused of horse thieving, & a silversmith forced into counterfeiting.
Erica Vetsch Author concludes this fabulous collection in Guard Your Heart with a young woman who’s finally able to bring down the gang. I loved how this story wrapped up everything & justice is finally served.
I absolutely enjoyed each story in the collection. Each is unique with the common thread of Captain Sterling, who’s the head of the Texas Rangers, & the town of Hartmann. There are some crossovers where characters from previous stories appear in other stories, but each novella is easily read as a standalone.
I loved reading about these courageous heroes & the amazing women who capture their hearts. Highly recommend to historical & western romance fans. I received an advanced copy from Celebrate Lit with no expectation of a positive review. All opinions are completely my own & voluntarily provided. 4.5 stars raised to 5.
After reading Seven Brides For Seven Texans I simply had to read Seven Brides For Seven Texas Rangers. Imagine my surprise in finding not only the almost identical author lineup, but also the same setting of Hartville, Texas. That continuity made the story even more enjoyable as old book friends blended with the new.
Seven Brides For Seven Texas Rangers was exactly the book that I needed right now. A nice mix of danger and romance in a fun Old West setting. I've been busy lately so I haven't had the time to sit down and read through an entire novel which made this 670+ page book just right with its more bite-sized novellas. Each novella is its own complete story but the overarching storyline of bringing the Markham Gang to justice tied them all together quite nicely.
As with the previous book, the authors did a good job with continuity etc. As a reader it always amazes me how multiple authors, in this case 7, can work together to create an almost seamless transition as the storyline moves forward.
Seven Brides For Seven Texas Rangers was definitely an entertaining read as it blended mystery with a western. Honestly, thanks to it containing 7 different novellas the book has a little bit of almost everything. Train robberies, hidden identities, kidnapping, betrayal, secrets, you name it. And then there is the delightful historical romance that I've come to expect from Gabrielle Meyer, Erica Vetsch, Amanda Barratt, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y'Barbo, Vickie McDonough, and Susan Page Davis. These ladies really know their stuff with the genre.
Anyway, it was an enjoyable read and one I would recommend if you like historical romance and/or stories that you can read in a single sitting....
(I received as copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are entirely my own.)
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers is a wonderful novel full of novellas that all tie together, that you will not want to miss out on! You get to meet seven different Texas Rangers and the seven women who challenge them. Maybe annoy them a little, or a lot, and definitely challenge them at every turn, plus of course, there is romance that pops in too.
I would say my favorite novella was The Countess and the Cowboy. I am a huge horse lover and definitely could empathise with Ava having her favorite stallion sold. To lose a favorite horse to a Ranger is one thing, but for that horse to then go missing. Ava sets out to find it even though the ranger thinks she’s involved. She’s not. But she’s going to be. Especially once she finds herself in an outlaw’s camp.
Each novella read quickly. They were engaging. And they all tied together somehow. I had no problem hopping from one to the next. I love collections like this because it feels like you’re reading several novels instead of just one. They’re also nice for when you don’t have a long time to sit and read but rather can sit for an hour or so and finish one novella, come back later and start with the next.
This is a re-release of an older collection with a new cover, etc. It’s also a second collection. The first collection was Seven Brides for Seven Texans. So if you enjoy this one definitely read the other collection.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book, which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. I was not required to write a positive review, nor was I compensated in any other way. All opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the FTC regulations.
I've now had the privilege of reading both Seven Brides for Seven Texans and Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers, and let me just tell you the second volume did not disappoint!!!
I love how each of the authors unique voices shone through and made each story so wonderfully exciting and fresh. The variety of tropes and tones kept me eager for the next story! I love how the stories, despite being written by different authors, each contributed to one cohesive story. Again, Erica did an INCREDIBLE job organizing the collection!!!
I adored getting to see glimpses of the lives of the characters from Texans since the close of that book! I ESPECIALLY loved how many of them had large families!!!!!!!!!! It isn't common enough that there are actually large families in fiction, and I think it should be far more prevalent.
Each of the stories offered wonderful characters and themes, but I think Amanda's story's theme was the most poignant for me. I love how she used the motif of the sparrow throughout her story and used her story to deliver such an important message about the worth of souls in His sight, no matter how the world sees them.
Overall, this story was such an incredible collection! I can only hope there will be another installment soon!!!!!!!!! If you enjoy sweet, Christian romances with beautiful themes and wonderful characters, you should definitely read this book!!!!!!!!
I received an ARC of this book. My opinions are my own. A positive review was not required.
Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers by Gabrielle Meyer, Amanda Barratt, Erica Vetsch, Susan Page Davis, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y’Barbo, and Vickie McDonough is a collection of Christian Historical Romances. The paths of extraordinary women intersect with the paths of seven Texas Rangers who strive to capture the notorious Markham Gang.
Each story in the collection centers around one man and the woman who winds up capturing his heart. From a widow to the daughter of a jeweler, a bank teller and more, these stories will capture your interest and keep you reading. No two leading ladies are the same, but they all fall in love with one of the seven Texas Rangers while on a quest to capture the notorious Markham Gang. If I was asked to pick a favorite story, I would be unable to do so. I will say once I began reading I found it impossible to put this collection down. I wanted to read it all in one sitting.
So if you want a collection of Christian Historical Romances, check out Seven Brides for Seven Texas Rangers by Gabrielle Meyer, Amanda Barratt, Erica Vetsch, Susan Page Davis, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y’Barbo, and Vickie McDonough. I definitely recommend this collection.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
Christian Historical Romance has been a favorite genre of mine for a long while. Seven Brides for Seven Texan Rangers byGabrielle Meyer, Amanda Barratt, Erica Vetsch, Susan Page Davis, Lorna Seilstad, Kathleen Y’Barbo, and Vickie McDonough is the latest book I have read. It is a Book 2 in the Lone Star Brothers series.
I dove right into the book and could not put it down. The setting is 1875 in Texas. The Texas Rangers are on the Hunt for the Markham Gang before they attack the Frontier. The journey the Seven Texas Rangers takes them on is not only about upholding the Law, but they are distracted by women who try to win their hearts. I LOVE that each Ranger meets a different woman and each woman is at a different stage in life. The Rangers know what their journey is about, getting justice for the Frontier, although their Hearts are being tugged by the women they have met. I was amazed at the Rangers approached their duties and took time for LOVE! The stories in the book focus on Faith, Trusting God's Plan and add in a bit of humor. I TRULY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Christian Historical Fiction! SWEET, SWEET BOOK!
I enjoyed reading this collection of stories that are full of action, adventure, and sweet romance. Set in the year 1886, the Texas Rangers are in full pursuit of a dangerous gang of outlaws. Given the mission to bring the deadly Markham gang to justice, the Texas Rangers based in Hartville, Texas, find themselves not only facing the most dangerous mission of their career, but they each find the bride of their dreams.
Even though written by different authors, the storyline flows smoothly all throughout the book. I loved the way the prologue set the stage for what was coming next in the book, and the way the epilogue tied everything together at the end. I liked all the characters (especially Miss Etta, the captain’s wife) and each storyline kept me reading to see what happened next. This is one of the best Old West collections that I’ve read in quite awhile. This collection is sweet, clean, and has mentions of faith throughout the book. If you enjoy reading Christian historical fiction, you’ll enjoy each story in the book.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
A great collection of stories with a theme of Texas Rangers awaits readers in this book. I like how the emphasis is on working together to capture a notorious gang. Each story highlights one of the Texas Rangers as they use their skills to keep others safe. The authors flow well from one story to the next as we get a birds eye view of how this time period had its share of men who tried to outrun the law.
It was fun to join them on their adventure and meet women who interact with the men of the law. The stories illustrate faith, forgiveness, redemption and second chances. What I liked was how each story features how overcoming hurts can lead to second chances. Emotions run high as healing is not always easy when it comes to trust.
This collection of stories will bring readers hours of encouragement, overcoming things from the past and facing danger. Faith is well represented in each story and I appreciate how the characters are flawed but able to find grace in each situation.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
