Lucca knew enough to protect his heart. He wrapped it in ice and told anyone that would listen he didn’t want a mate. To get his point across he went back in time to what he called an “easier life.” The last thing he expected was Tempest to fall into his lap. Now he has an arm full of female, and he doesn’t want to let her go.
Tempest woke up before she was supposed to. She was running from an enemy that wanted her dead. The more she fights, the weaker she gets, then she falls into Lucca’s lap, her mate. She knows that to protect him she’ll have to leave him.
They are being stalked, and the only chance for victory is working together. First, they will have to deal with their past and put to rest the evil that makes them shy away from having a mate. Then they will have to move quickly because the ones that want them dead won’t wait for them to fall in love.
Number three in the series of the A'Rouk brothers. If you like sci-fi stories with romance, you will enjoy these books I recommend starting at the beginning though so that you understand everything. I have read both of the other books, this one continues with the family fighting against evil entities. Now we know that there are two groups that are trying to kill the mates and destroy the earth. We just don't know who the second group is. The men fight the Darkness but the women have this other group after them. I greatly enjoy reading these books. We still have three brothers to go, can't wait! The extra prequel book about Aran's twin from the Love Me Harder series is included with this story. Looks like we will be getting another series about a different group of created men. Looking forward to it!
I loved the first series, Love Me Harder, about the Dare Brothers, and the same goes for the A'rouk Brothers series. Lucca and Tempest's journey was a bit different. They still had to defeat the Darkness, but Tempest had several other unknown entities trying to kill her! The story grabbed me quickly and didn't slow down until the final word was read! I love it when the characters from previous series and stories are integrated into each new book. It is like keeping up with the characters even though their story is, for all intents and purposes, complete. Best way to read these is to start at the beginning with Aron, Love Me Harder book 1! I also read the bonus novella at the end of the book...Aron's Twin, prequel to The Broken. Another connected series in the making!
Lucca and Tempest tore my heart out more than once. I'm glad they were able to put it back eventually. The characters are great, I really liked Tempest's sassy side. The plot is fabulous and the writing definitely kept me invested from the first page. Great book Serena Simpson!
NOTE: You should definitely read the Love me Harder series before this one, as it introduces the main characters in this series and the peripheral characters as well. Additionally, be sure to read this series in order otherwise you'll miss the over-arching story line.
I absolutely love this book and I love the series and I Can’t wait to see what happens with Dante. I’ve read all these books twice and looking forward to seeing with you right next
