Verse Mapping Luke: Gathering the Goodness of God’s Word

Rate this book
In this six-session video Bible study (DVD/digital video sold separately), Kristy Cambron guides small groups through the Gospel of Luke using a technique that revolutionized her time with God known as verse mapping.

Kristy discovered this approach after experiencing a series of valleys—a family cancer diagnosis, grief, and loss—that made her realize she needed a more authentic walk with God. Although she was on the fast track to a rewarding career with a Fortune-100 corporation, had a growing family, and was living out a budding career as a fiction writer, she longed for a way to tap into her creative roots and really dig deep into studying the Bible.

Kristy found the answer in verse mapping, a method of "studying the historical context, transliteration, translation, connotation, and theological framework of a verse in the Bible." Simply put, verse mapping is getting real about studying the Bible. More than just reading a verse, it's about researching everything you can about it to learn more about who God is and how he wants to speak to you through his Word.

In this study, Kristy shares how you can have a verse-mapping journey of your own through the Gospel of Luke. In each session, she will provide you with practical examples on how to:

Take the first steps in verse mapping and learn how to explore the Bible like never before
Customize your Bible study time for a deeper and more authentic walk with God
Overcome packed schedules, push past fears, and make God's Word an essential tool for daily living
Staying motivated in your study to pursue God’s calling for your life
God has provided a feast for you in his Word. He has set the table with an abundance of life nestled between the front and back covers of the Bible. Today is your chance to sit at the place reserved for you and receive all that he has to offer. Whether you have just five minutes today or an hour . . . or whether you are a seminary graduate or are opening your Bible for the first time . . . this is your opportunity to spend some serious time with God.

Designed for use with Verse Mapping Luke Video Study (sold separately).

Kristy Cambron is a USA TODAY bestselling author who writes from the space where beauty, art, and history intersect. She's an award-winning author of historical fiction, including her internationally bestselling novels, THE BUTTERFLY AND THE VIOLIN and THE PARIS DRESSMAKER, as well as nonfiction titles. Her work has been named to Cosmopolitan's Best Historical Fiction Novels, Library Journal’s Best Books, and has been featured at People Magazine, Once Upon a Book Club Box, Frolic, Book Club Girl, BookBub, and Country Woman magazine.

Her new novel, THE FRENCH KITCHEN, is available now -- in which an ex-pat wife haunted by her experiences as an undercover agent in the American OSS during WWII crosses paths with chef Julia Child in a post-war Paris cookery class, complicating the carefully constructed high-society world she’s built to hide her past.

Kristy holds a degree in art history/research writing and spent fifteen years in education and leadership development for a Fortune 100 corporation, partnering with such companies as the Disney Institute, IBM/Kenexa, and Gallup, before stepping away to pursue her passion for storytelling. She's also served as Vice President and a literary agent with Gardner Literary.

Kristy lives in Indiana with her husband and three basketball-loving sons, where she can probably be bribed with a peppermint mocha latte and a good read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this well-presented DVD and study guide set. I've participated in plenty of Bible studies in the past, but never tried something like verse mapping. Not only was this set the perfect way to learn the technique, but it also led me to contemplate so much more beyond the lessons. I especially appreciated this style of study in that I never felt "preached to." Instead, I was led to look things up for myself and make comparisons, which allowed me to come to my own conclusions. I found the verses and the revelations stayed with me well into each week, which, to me, is the true litmus test of whether something is a good educational tool or not.

I also enjoyed Ms. Cambron's personal stories and how she related them to each week's lesson. Those stories alone were inspiring. And for me, this set became an enlightening study during the Lenten season.
