This is my first Shadow Claw book. I know, I know. I have them all; I just haven’t had time to read them yet. I got this as an ARC from the author, my review is voluntary.

As a newbie to the series I did find all the people to be a bit confusing at first. It did interest me in reading their stories and I had no problem following the current story. This book deals mostly with Kevin and Nina who I believe starred in Desired by Alpha Bear which is the second book in the series. Nina is pregnant and is carrying the next Calliagh. There are some who don’t want this baby to be born, or those who want the child for their own purposes. When Nina is found unconscious, Kalen and Ammara ask to take her back to the fairy realm where they can better help her. Kevin agrees, but Nina is comatose and does not seem to be improving.

I will not spoil the book for you by telling you more. There will be a birth and a betrayal. Prophecies will be seen that will shake Nina to the core. War is coming.

I haven't read the earlier books in this series but found it wasn't too difficult to follow who was who once I got started. I really enjoyed how there were so many different supernatural creatures working together especially as they still let loose their natural way even when together if they are stressed etc so you don't forget what they really are. The pace of the book is good and I liked how there was an under current feeling of things being held back from helping Nina which kept you turning the page. I am now going to go back and read the first 4 books and look forward to also reading the next book in this series.

I was given an Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for an honest review.

So happy to be back with all our Bear, wolf, witch and elf friends! Everyone is happy and anticipating the arrival of Kevin and Nina's baby into the world. Then there will be three powerful Caillaghs for the first time! Unfortunately, there is always something sinister waiting in the wind to cause problems. So much happens in this book you don't want to miss it! It's another fantastic installment in this series provided to us by this talented writer. The title says it all!

This one had me in everything from tears, to anger, happiness and out abd out fear fir all of the characters, baby Dahlia is born as the 3rd Caliegh and of course the darkest of dark witches want her and it's upto the Shadow Claw and their allies to help save her and possibly humanities future. 4.5⭐'s and put your big girl/boy boots on it's gonna be a bumpy ride in the next book !! I received a gifted copy of the book and am voluntarily choosing to leave an honest and unbiased review.

Really enjoyed this book and the series. This about Nina and Kevin and their expected Child and the trouble brewing which could be a war.

Bad...

Bad things are coming again. It seems like troubles are never-ending! Patience is tested and snarky cuts are happening to often. Will they all survive? Will the hunters decimate the packs and kidnap the cubs?
So much happening that once you start one of the books you are compelled to finish and rush to the next story!
Lovin' this series!

the author seems to have squashed two different series together without regard to characterization and continuity. tbh the first three could have been written by an entirely different author in a different genre. the fourth was a shitshow and this one is... um... relatively internally consistent? the one common thread between the squashed series is the need for copyediting.

getting there

i am delighted that so many shifter breeds are working together. the disappointment from the last book still lingers. the story is strong, the mistakes are fewer. loving the characters.

Good

Well written and characters are great. War is afoot. Can't wait for the next book to see what happens and who the witches are. Good series, a must read

Unfortunately this is the first book I've read in this series. I kind of caught up with the characters, but the author leaves the books unfinished. I'm still trying to figure out what the shift in power is or where it is going. The author is very unclear on these facts. This was a little disappointing because I love bear shifter stories.
