The Settlement

Rate this book
Hilariously twisted romantic thriller debut by Jeff Davis.

Christopher and Catalina "Cat" Andrews are a young, hot, newlywed couple who live in a modest condo in West Hollywood. Chris, who narrowly missed being drafted into the NFL as the result of a minor injury he sustained during his senior college football season at The Ohio State University, now works as a human resources manager for a large communications company. His beautiful wife, Cat, is a Mexican-born bombshell who is ready to retire from her relatively unsuccessful modeling career. Shortly after she finishes her associate degree in Business Administration at Santa Monica College, she lands a job as an executive assistant at a boutique financial management firm in Beverly Hills.
Almost immediately upon Cat's new (and much needed) employment, her boss begins conducting himself inappropriately by making unwelcomed romantic advances towards Cat. Chris, being an HR professional, as well as Cat's husband, is obviously not happy about the fact that Cat must endure such a hostile work environment... so he gladly coaches Cat as to the most appropriate way to handle the situation. When Chris's savvy guidance results in the couple receiving nearly half a million dollars from a legal settlement against Cat's employer, life for the beautiful young newlyweds could not be sweeter... or so they thought.

"An instant cult classic!"

"An ending that will slap you in the face and walk away."

"Hilarious, sexy, dark, and suspenseful....looking forward to Part 2!"

This was a quick read. It kept you wanting more but it also was easy to put down. Good story line but I feel like it could have been more drawn out with a little bit more details. The end left you hanging a little bit but not enough so you can’t tie together what happened, you just can’t tie together why it happened the way it did and if what you think happened truly happened or not.

Speechless. Literally holy shit. Wasn’t expecting anything that happened in the book to happen but I also never read the back and just dive in. Truly great
