Pandora is a Fairy Godmother who’s never fit in with her own people. Still, she has the power—and the attitude—to step in and help those who others have decided “aren’t worthy” of a happy ending. How hard could it be to manipulate some of the most feared beings in their world?

Viktor has spent his entire undead life being the bogeyman to the paranormal community, and that’s the way he wants to keep it … with everyone else far away from him. But when the opportunity arises to take his revenge on his nemesis, he can’t resist—even if it means risking his reputation and rescuing the damsel in distress.

Halle never expected to find herself in need of a savior, especially one with a reputation like Viktor’s. But she’s used to listening to her instincts, and her cat trusts the strange woman who pops up and claims to have some solutions. After all, if a girl can’t trust her own Fairy Godmother, then what is this world coming to?

I live in British Columbia, Canada; I have all my life. I went to culinary school and studied Pastry Arts, working as a Pastry Chef in Vancouver for five years. But the commute into the city got to me and I had to change careers back to an office. I still work full time; I now work for a sporting goods wholesaler in accounting…which is where my twitchy creative side began to get restless…and as my Baba used to say, “Idle hands are the Devils playthings.” Or in my case, idle hands get me into all sorts of trouble; so I go a little bananas on the hobby side of things. I still love to cook and bake, I do a large amount of recipe creating and the boys at work certainly appreciate being sacrificed as taste testers. I am also a stress knitter, to the point that I had to open my own Etsy shop to unload some of the scarves I make. Realistically there’re only so many scarves a gal can make and keep for herself before people start to judge you…. I also paint when the muse hits me, mostly abstract in acrylics. I love to garden and grow things, have a weakness for all animals, and an un-natural obsession for making jam. I literally made 24 different kinds of jam last summer, it’s a bit of a problem….but there’s just so many different kinds you can create! Who am I to say no to see what Tiger’s Blood jam would taste like? (it’s strawberry, watermelon and coconut by the way….and it was AMAZEBALLS.)
I’ve always had a love of reading, science fiction and paranormal genres have always fascinated me, so once I found myself addicted to romance novels it really only made sense that the sci fi romance genre drew me like a moth to a flame. I only started writing about a year ago, it took me a long time to get Sarah’s Crew to the point where I would let someone else read what I was writing, let alone send it into a publisher. But eventually I did and after one fairly nice rejection I moved on and found Siren. I’ve been so impressed at how supportive and helpful all the other Siren authors have been through this entire process, I’m a little on the shy side so the social media and marketing part of the writing process has been intimidating to say the least. My goal is to keep working on my writing skills and to hopefully improve with each book, and I hope that anyone who reads them enjoys the world that I’m trying to create!

Oh! I enjoyed this one quite a lot! It was funny, sweet, hot and had a little bit of action and suspense. Really about everything you could ask for in a short PNR. It wasn't really deep or anything but just thoroughly entertaining.

Dori is the odd fairy godmother out. She's a bit different. One day she decides that it's not fair that only Prince Charmings and princesses get HEA. Shouldn't the evil villains get them sometimes too? So she starts her own business of finding HEA for others who deserve them depending on your view. Viktor is her first client.

Viktor is one badass vampire. Everyone is afraid of him. See, he has a reputation for killing first and never asking questions later. But are things always what they seem?

Halle is a virginal leopard shifter who's been sheltered by her family. When Conrad, the vampire coven leader and nemesis of Viktor decides to call in a blood debt with Halle's father, he wants his payment to be Halle and he's not taking no for an answer. Viktor to the rescue. Easy, peasy right?

This was so much fun to read. I absolutely loved both mc's. And, I adored Dori. She is funny and had me cracking up several times. There were also a few secondary characters I loved who were funny as well such as Dori's mom and Nan. This is looking to be a great series with this first novella and I'm looking forward to more.

I have to admit that the guy on the cover made this almost an automatic read for me and then when one of my friends read and enjoyed it that was it.

It's a cute sweet funny read which I enjoyed.

Pandora or Dori as she's known is a dark Fairy Godmother.

What—never heard of a dark Fairy Godmother, you say?
Well, that’s because only about one in every one million Fairy Godmother pregnancies result in a blending of wild magic that ends up with a deviant like me.

So Dori is an absolute delight whereas normal fairy godmothers deal in HEA only for the good and righteous Dori decides that villains need everlasting love as well and so her new business is born.

Her first victim, sorry client is Viktor a misunderstood vampire and Halle a leopard shifter who's being forced into a mating against her will to the cold and evil Conrad.

This is a lighthearted cute romance and it makes for a nice entertaining read and I can't wait for the next one.

Unique! Entertaining! Snarky! Smokin’ hot sex scenes! Fairy Godmothers, vampires, shifters and everything in between. This is a paranormal world with a fairy tale twist that I can’t wait to get more of!

VIKTOR (Happy Evil After Book 1) by Sarah Marsh is a novella beginning to a new series that I devoured! This author has a unique voice and easy to follow world-building in this paranormal romance series that keeps you turning the pages.

The character that will connect all the books in this series is Pandora “Dori”, who is a dark Fairy Godmother. She has never fit in with the rest of the Godmothers. She comes to realize that like herself, different doesn’t necessarily mean always and forever bad. She decides to help others deemed ‘not worthy’ of a happy ending to find one with her black matchmaking mastermind notebook.

Viktor likes his scary boogeyman reputation. It keeps others away and leaves him to do what he likes. He has almost completed his revenge on the vampire coven that turned him. Only one remains, Conrad Daire, who is now head of the North American coven. Few realize what lies behind his façade, but Viktor knows him for the psychopath he truly is. As Victor enjoys a drink at The Pit, in pops Dori to tell Viktor how he can ruin Conrad’s happily ever after.

Halle Briggs is a beautiful leopard shifter. She is the beloved daughter of the head of the leopard pard and has become the prize that Conrad wants for saving her father’s life years ago. Halle has spirit and hates Conrad, but sees no way out until a certain dark Fairy Godmother pops in to tell her that she will be rescued, but she needs to do everything in her power to make sure she stays with Viktor. She will have to fight for her happily ever after and her mate.

This novella contains so much and yet is extremely well paced and never seems rushed or missing information. The sex scenes are explicit and sizzling, but I did not feel they were gratuitous. I just fell into this new world and was very sorry to see the end. I will definitely be following this series into the future and hope it continues to make me cheer for the unlikely H/h’s and laugh out loud at Dori’s matchmaking and snarky attitude.

Virgin heroine because her father and brother are "protective".

Brace for rant.

I don't have as big a problem with virgin heroines who CHOOSE to stay virgin, or haven't found that right person, or when the hero is also a virgin.

But I definitely have a problem with heroines who are virgins because their family or other people feel it's their right to control the heroine's sex or love life. The heroine of this book is funny, quirky and confident, from what I read in the first few chapters. She is completely capable of making her own decisions regarding her sex life, but her manipulating, controlling father and overprotective brother take that choice away from her. She doesn't have normal interactions with men, they're too afraid to even look at her because of her family. So no, I'm not going to finish this story with the quintessential virgin heroine and nonvirgin hero.

This is a small part of the story, and I'm sorry I can't ignore the issue of virgin heroines. But sexual experience is such a central part of romance (erotica, no duh) that there's just no way I can read an otherwise good story without constantly thinking how the heroine never even had the choice.

This is such a unique story! I love the idea of a fairy god mother for the ‘boogeymen’. The blurb alone makes me want to read this book and once I started I couldn’t stop. If you’re looking for a unique paranormal romance I highly recommend Viktor. Hell, this is a must read for me. I can’t wait for the next book!

This book was an amazing short read!! I loved Victor, even though he was sort of a tortured soul!! Halle was an awesome woman and the Fairy Godmother? Well, you just need to get the book and read it to see what I'm talking about.

Viktor by Sarah Marsh is the first book in the Happy Evil After series. In this first installment, we have a fairy godmother, named Pandora. (yup, that’s her!) She’s a bit different than your typical fairy godmother, she as we all might remember, creates havoc. So deciding to play matchmaker to the people who deserve a second chance at a Happy Ever After is her latest and greatest idea, after all, doesn’t every one deserve love?

So she goes for vampire Viktor. He has a bad rap that while deserved a long time ago for killing his own kind, he’s deserving of a second chance now. Especially when he saves shifter Halle from a fate worse than death by being mated to coven leader Conrad, a nasty, nasty vamp that Viktor would rather get his revenge on and does so by taking what’s his!

This was a total blast of a book that I totally loved reading. Sarah has come up with a hit of a new series, and having Dori pop up all over the place is a riot! Not to mention her mother and grandmother who appear in the story as well. I loved Viktor and Halle, and I was rooting for them the whole time. I can’t wait to see who is paired up next!

4.5 stars: (review request submitted by the author for an honest critique)

I’ve read countless stories featuring the good guys finding their love and living HEA. I’ve also read my share of stories centering around vamps that aren’t quite as evil as once feared, shifters who marry outside their pack/kind, and misunderstood paranormals who want a new lease on life. Love. Family. Everything.

Those books are common, found in every bookstore. However, what I haven’t seen lining the shelves are books about a dark fairy godmother that wants the so-called villains to find their mates and live Happily Evil After.

In the human world, good and evil can be found in every walk of life. It makes no difference your color or gender. There’s good and bad all around us. The same can be said in the paranormal world — evil and not so evil beings can be found in every coven, pack, territory and so forth.

As we saw with Viktor, not all creatures are complete blood thirsty, ruthless bastards. Viktor didn’t choose this life. Actually, it was forced upon him. He didn’t deserve to lose his family. He did deserve a second chance and thank goodness Dori stepped up to work her magic.

Dori: She is wonderfully mischievous, manipulative, has no boundaries at all, and is quite humorous. If I had a fairy godmother, dark or light, I would hope she’d be like Dori. However, I would insist she’d leave my underthings on. I may not care for wearing a bra but I do like my puss covered.

Other characters I loved…..

How about EVERYONE! Ok, maybe not everyone. Conrad was a douche, an asshat, and a complete psychopath. Kudos to Sarah for creating a character I loved to hate and creating so many characters I loved falling in love with.

Viktor by Sarah Marsh is the first in the Happy Evil After series. I love this series!!! Dark fairies, humor, sizzling heat, and did I mention humor. I loved loved loved Dori. I need more of her in the future.
In this story Dori gets the most unlikely couple together.
Viktor the destroyer of covens. Ruthless, will kill anyone who gets in his way. Has a huge hatrid of his own kind.
You know just cause he has some tainted traits does not mean he does not deserve a happy ending. After all even the paranormals who walk in the gray light deserve happiness. ( Dori's Motto I am sure)
Halle gets a visit from her fairy godmother. Well I will say on the fairy godmother scale Halle will be lucky to survive hers. Halle is sweet, kind, and determined. She will need all of her skills to hook Viktor.
Over all this is one of those stories I did not want to end. I loved it and want more from this amazingly well written series. Bring on the dark fairies and the questionable paranormals Dori saves.

Pandora is a wonderfully sarcastic, pot stirring, fairy godmother.

Viktor loves his rep - he works hard to keep out of people's way. He's been on the hunt for Conrad for years. So when he finds out Conrad is supposed to be getting something delivered...he decided to step in and take it. Oh, did I mention he's a vampire?

Halle is a leopard shifter (sigh, I love leopard shifters) who Conrad has decided will be his payment to cover the supposed debt her pard has. Halle has some spirit and isn't afraid to speak up.

These characters are fun to watch during their interactions! Pandora really does stir the pot, and has a dream to help "the bad guys" find their HEA. I had some great laughs during my read of Viktor.

Fabulous reading. I love the possibilities this new series could have!

Light hearted paranormal romance with the brooding hero and the virginal girl ready to be handed over to the evil villain however the author adds a delightful fairy godmother who isn't what you expect and this typical story is anything but typical.
