Starting a new life isn’t easy, but for Rowan Gray it’s especially hard. The Michigan native finds herself fresh out of work and signs on to be the ship photographer on The Bounding Storm, a cruise ship that anchors in Florida while sailing the tumultuous seas on a weekly basis.
It’s a new world for the passionate spitfire, but the same old problem rears its ugly head when she boards. You see, Rowan can see death omens in her camera, and when they pop up, she feels obliged to save those in the grim reaper’s crosshairs.
Quinn Davenport is a former military man enjoying an easy stint as head of security on The Bounding Storm. As soon as he crosses paths with Rowan, he realizes she’s different. He has no idea how much until it’s too late to turn back.
Together, this duo must fight against fate – and their hormones – to keep The Bounding Storm safe.
This omnibus includes the first three books in the Rowan Gray mystery series. Titles include Welcoming Seas, Murky Seas and Stormy Seas.
These were some of the absolute best cozy mysteries I have ever read! The descriptions of characters weren't only great but quite insightful. I could totally picture them in my minds eye. Each mystery was well thought out and written with absolute perfection. This is the 4 th night in a row that I have been up to 5:00 am. I couldn't put the book down. All her stories give you lots of misdirection to keep you guessing. I read til I finished the last and favorite of the three books. I wonder if she acted before becoming an author. The descriptions of them and their personas was spot on. Just when you thought you had figured it out, something out of left field happened and it all changed. I was actually so surprised and shocked at the end to learn who the murderer was. Shocked! Great Great stories. These were so well done, I think they should be required reading for high school kids. I've never read a story where a true adult relationship has been written in so well! A++ Kathy
Rowan Gray can see when someone is about to die. She's never tried all that hard to prevent it before but with the help of the ship security chief Quin, she intends to try. It's a great story with a few minor flub ups: Incontinuity, overexplaining, high school drama played out by 30 year olds, lack of research, important plot oversights, and calling Rowan by other characters names. Yeah, that nearly ruined it for me. Probably not a big deal to people who aren't veterans but maybe if you write a Marine into your book you should know anything at all about Marines first. I must stress tho, the story itself and the idea behind it is great. I liked the characters and was kept guessing which is something I love in a well written mystery, the fact that in one of the books that was due to a plot hole notwithstanding. 4 stars for the great story. Would have been 5 stars with more care.
Rowan is the new photographer on a cruise ship. Having worked as photojournalist, she is no stranger to death. Quinn is head of security on the ship. They quickly partner up when the first passenger tragedy occurs.
Rowan has a gift that allows her to see the possible death of someone in a photograph. Quinn is a little skeptical, but when her first prediction comes true, he'll quickly come around to help her try to change the outcome.
A little romance, a few murders, and life on a cruise ship keep them busy. I loved their interactions. They fight, but they are also a team.
Rowan Gray Mystery series : Magical Seas (Books1-3) by Lily Harper Hart is an adorable and a truly magical cozy mystery. No, it's not completely a paranormal cozy mystery nor is the protagonist, Rowan Gray, a witch. The only supernatural element in the series is Rowan's ability to spot the death omen near a possible victim. This series is fabulous and I loved reading every book. There is fun, humor, friendly teasing and great suspense with lots of twists and turns. Highly recommend it for cozy mystery lovers.
Love this series. I didn't think I'd like it as its not my usual go to paranormal read. It a bit different in that the ability that Rowan has is peculiar but I must admit by the end of the first book I was hooked. The story line is well thought out and the plot well defined. The character come to life and you can't help to come to think about them as friends. I can't wait to read the rest of this series. On to books 4-6
I love this series. Rowan a photographer has a secret, she sees marks on her photos when someone is about to die. Joining a cruise ship as photographer she meets Quinn the head of security and they investigate when a guest who was marked disappears. A great start to this series of romantic cozy mysteries with strong characters, entertaining stories with a few twists and turns along the, way. I will definitely be reading and listening to more of these. Narration is excellent.
The three stories built on the characters development, although they could be read alone. As a mystery, they were pretty good, with lots of guessing, sometimes to the end. On a technical note, the usage of smirk was way overused...46 times in the three books. I cringed each time I came across it. This has been noticed in new or younger writers- you rarely even see it used once in seasoned authors. It is very distracting.
When I finished the last Maddie Graves book, I was missing the awe and sweet that the series had. I decided to try this series and I’m so glad that I did! Rowan and Quinn are amazing and there’s the quirky crew they work with. Love this series so far! Awesome read! Enjoy!!!
I really enjoy this author. She took things I think about and brought them to life. I considered life on a ship but the small cabins and no escaping during off time is hard.
Very busy and involved book. The characters were devious and some scary. The main characters are evolving and becoming more important and interesting. Good book to read.
Such a fantastic series! I really love the unconventional romance and the interesting community. Who wouldn't love to just try living on a cruise ship for a while?
