DEAD MEN DO TELL TALES:
"I WANT TO COME HOME TONIGHT"
THE HAUNTING STORY OF MARION PARKER
BY TROY TAYLOR

It’s Christmas in Los Angeles, 1927, and a bank officer named Perry Parker receives a bizarre ransom note, telling him that one of his twin daughters, Marion, has been kidnapped and that she’ll be returned if he follows a series of explicit instructions. Little does Parker know, but his daughter is already dead – strangled and horribly dismembered by a madman who calls himself the “Fox.” Although he claims to be a “master criminal,” the kidnapper is actually a disturbed young man named William Edward Hickman, whose plans for a “big crime” spin terrifyingly out of control and end in tragedy, horror, and a lingering haunting.

In this chilling installment of the “Dead Men Do Tell Tales” series, Troy Taylor reveals the eerie true story of one of the most horrific kidnapping and murder cases in American history, from the moment Marion Parker disappeared to the day that her killer swung from the gallows – and delves into the ghostly tale that has lingered long after her death. There are few murder tales in Los Angeles history as gruesome as the story of Marion Parker and it’s one of the strangest stories to ever be featured in the series. It’s also one that will stay with you long after the final pages have been turned!

Excellent Read!

The story of a horrific kidnapping even more gruesome than the Leopold/Loeb kidnapping and murder of Bobby Franks just 3 years earlier. How in the world was the tragic story of 12-year old Marion Parker “forgotten”? The author did an amazing job researching and then presenting this shocking story. I highly recommend this book to people who are fans of the true crime genre. You will never forget this once you read it.

I am a HUGE fan of Troy Taylor's. His books are all very well researched and written, keeping the reader enthralled until the very end. This book is no exception. He retells a tragic tale of a young girl and her cold killer, Ed Hickman. I would recommend this to any true crime enthusiast and the ending even offers a little something for those who enjoy the paranormal as well. Not only is this a great book but it's a quick read to boot.

Truly a good read that covered this horrendous case in great detail. The author clearly did his research but wrote in such a way that made the book flow very well whereas many true crime novels may drag this one definitely does not. I am planning to now look into Mr. Taylor's other works because of it. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in this poor girl's case.

I picked this up in a gift shop while in vacation and couldn’t put it down. I had never heard of this crime and it is written in a breezy style that reminds me of pulps.

Fascinating true crime

I've purchased several of the e-books in the "Hello Hath No Fury" series, all of them fascinating reads for a great price. #6 in the series deals with the kidnapping and murder of Marion Parker, a case that was previously unknown to me. We tend to think of child abduction and murder as "modern" crimes, but unfortunately this isn't the case. Troy Taylor's book is direct and to the point, making it a great idea introduction to this horrific crime.
