He was born in Moulay Driss Zerhoun. He studied law at the Mohammed V University and graduated in 1976. He published a collection of short stories, six collections of poetry and one novel. Some of his works have been translated into French, Spanish, Russian and Dutch. He wrote articles for several Moroccan newspapers like Al-Alam and Al Ittihad Al Ichtiraki.

Je me suis baladée avec l'auteur dans les ruelles de l'ancienne médina de Rabat, découvert plusieurs aspects de la culture de la ville et fait connaissance de ses protagoniste. L'auteur vous plonge dans la complexité psychologique de chaque personnage.
Par contre la lecture était un petit peu lente et l'histoire pas trop captivante à mon goût. Je me suis ennuyée un peu et me suis forcée à le terminer.
