Super interesting study of a subculture in time (1992). Very comprehensive, and as a frequent flyer to 42nd and Port Authority - so interesting to read about these blocks when they were much different than today! Author does belay somewhat of a judgemental POV towards substances / carceral POV, but this is also asking a lot of the 1990s.
