The first book I started and read last October.
Upon finishing it I started a new chapter in my life - resuming my driving licence lessons after years.
It was my third book by this author in 2019, something I won't do again since I have only 5 more books to read by her.
This book is what the title says «Dreams Notebooks»
It is a selection from the author's 11 dreams notebooks that she is writing since March 1997.
Just like the author, Zyranna Zateli, for me dreams are a fascinating place to be, and they're also a bank of ideas. Many of my short stories are based on dreams I saw. And reading Zateli's book I recognise a few dreams as scenes from books by her I read previously.
This is a very gorgeous edition in hardback, with ideal font and spacing, durable paper and beautiful cover.
We cannot easily categorised this book: autobiography, memoirs, journal, fiction, dreamction?
Maybe it has its own category, dream memoirs, dreamography
Maybe it doesn't need to be part of a category after all.
My mum, my grandma, my aunts: every time they meet on the veranda they always talk about their dreams.
And when a professional storyteller like Zateli narrates her own dreams, it is like eating your favourite mummy-recipe by a professional chef.
She wasn't planning to publish her dreams notebooks in book format, but since she was already late with the third and final book from her trilogy (With the Strange Name Ramanthis Erebous) she wanted to publish something as a distraction, to appease her fans.
I will read everything by her, even her shopping list.
So it's obvious that I liked this book and recommend it to anyone interested in dreams, Zateli, and Greek fiction in general.
