Introducing Book 2 in the SHADOWS OF MAGIC series! You know that awkward moment when one of your mortal enemies hires you to kill another mortal enemy? They say the enemy of your enemy is your friend, but I'm not sure that's true. In fact, I'm not quite sure why I took the job. Neither is Daiman. Apparently, druids don't like being hit men. Who knew? I don't like making hits on people, either, but this might be the only way to find out the truth about my past... ...and stop Philip before he figures out how to turn me back into the crazy, mass-murdering bitch I used to be. From the author of RISK BE DAMNED, a new fantasy series full of magic, snarky druids, kickass heroines, punch-in-the-face worthy villains, and just a dash of romance! Perfect for fans of KF Breene and Rachel Carter!
Natalie Grey grew up in rural New England, surrounded by a lot of vegetables and relatively little excitement. Therefore, she was obliged to make up excitement by pretending to be a knight, mage, jet-setting international assassin, jedi, or (occasionally) a shape-shifting dragon. She read everything she could get her hands on, from Lord of the Rings to Modesty Blaise, and eventually started writing her own stories full of what-ifs and snarky put-downs. Now she lives with her two German Shepherd mixes in the frozen wilds of Minnesota, and does a lot of inventive swearing while she shovels.
This was my second time reading and it held me to my seat and reading even more than the first time. Of course, I must admit, most of the time it was on the edges of my seat! Nicky and Daiman's romanic hideaway is intruded upon by the representatives of Acadamh, the Coimeail. Surprisingly they were not there to capture or kill Nicky, but to hire her to track and kill Terric. Although she knows both she and Terric are being used as scrapgoats, she agrees, knowing she had to find him anyway. What follows is full of enough action and adventure to satisfy any Urban Fantasy fan. Ms Green has taken a unique view, making the heroine from the most hated person in history. Nicky's discovery of herself and her magic is a journey that in itself that is both interesting and compelling. Considering Ms Grey's unique talent, I feel confident that each of the following episodes will even surpass this one.
