When Jake Sullivan's family inherits a riding academy in Brooklyn, NY, they think their prayers have been answered. Unfortunately, the will stipulates they must run the business for one year or any money made off its sale will go to another. Casey Woodrow wasn't looking for love. She was looking for ways to tick off her father. He ruled her with an iron fist and she was tired of it. What she needed was something to really make him mad, something that would get him so upset he'd leave her alone forever. But sometimes what we think we want, isn't always the best ...
Enjoy this first book in the Contemporary versions of Cowboys and Debutantes! Clean and wholesome sweet stories of West meets East and everything in between!
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
This is the first story I have read by this author, and it is a gem of a novella. I look forward to exploring more of her works. Coincidently, early in the story, she mentions Baker City, Oregon, the city of my birth, except it was simply Baker, Oregon at that time. I lived in Baker until I was twelve, after which we lived in a number of towns in Central and Eastern Oregon. It was delightful to read a story set, at least partially, in a part of the country where I grew up. I noted a few errors that missed the editor’s eye, but these were only minor distractions. This is the first offering in what appears to be a 5-book series. Kit Morgan authors two books, and Vivi Holt authors three. They are all contemporary, clean romances. I have downloaded the entire series and expect a number of hours of delightful reading ahead.
Jake and Casey are unlikely protagonists who get together when Jake comes to New York to oversee a riding academy his family inherited. Jake is cowboy through and through while Casey is a born and bred New York society girl who neither cooks nor drives a car. Their single connection at the outset is an interest in horses. They meet when Casey comes for her first horse riding lesson. Their journey to an HEA conclusion is a fun, fast and delightful reading experience.
With the death of Grandpa Joe and the reading of his will, he had an unusual stipulation, which he was leaving his business, Dixie Riding Academy of Brooklyn, New York, to his daughter, Samatha Sullivan’s, children. They must run and operate the business for one full year before they are allowed to sell it. Living in Oregon, and running a ranch, this places the three siblings in a bit of a hardship. Jenny is working two part time jobs and attending college, so it is decided that Tate, the oldest, and Jake, the youngest, will have to take turns going to New York. For the first time, it will be Jake.
The plot will have Jake going to Brooklyn, New York to visit the Dixie Riding Academy and accessing it’s worth and determine what needs to happen to make it profitable, for a possible later sale. He is pleasantly surprised at the size of the business, upkeep, and business procedures, handled by Miss Williams, who is also an instructor.
Jake will meet Casey Woodrow at the Riding Academy, and there is an attraction between them. “He was—real. Down to earth.” Little coffee dates, and getting to know you will come with an invitation to a gala that causes lots of hard feelings, between Casey and her father, and especially with Casey and Jake. Jake feels used, and angry with himself and Casey over her plot to thwart her father’s matchmaking endeavors.
After a few weeks with Jake, Casey knows she wants to continue to pursue her dreams for her future, and that does not work within her father’s plans. Will a suggestion by Jake be the answer? The story is a sweet, clean, contemporary romance with a happily ever after ending. Sometimes in life, you have to take a stand for what you truly want and make your dreams come true. Anything really worth having is worth going after.
Really enjoyed 'Jake'! The story starts with Jake going to check out a riding academy that was left to their family by Grandpa Joe. There he meets Casey and the story unfolds... I loved Jake and Casey! They are so cute together, and although they face some obstacles, they push through and obviously reach a HEA. The plot was good, although the ending was slightly rushed. I really liked some of the secondary characters as well! Overall, a great, clean romance!!

Jake goes to the academy and meets Miss Williams who runs the facility. Jake meets Casey Woodrow a debutant from New York who signs up for a riding lesson and there is an instant attraction. I really enjoyed this sweet Christian romance novel.
Loved this sweet romance. It has just the right blend of sweet and spicy characters. It's not too long, and there were few grammatical errors to distract from the storyline. I received this book in a giveaway, and I'm posting my review to encourage others to give it a try. You won't be sorry you did.
I haven't been much interested in contemporary romance but I like Kit Morgan so I gave it a try. I am pleased I did. Pace is steady. Story line is actually believable and I like the characters.
This was a cute story about love and finding yourself. Jake and his family inherit a riding stable in Brooklyn, they live in Oregon. Cassie is a debutante from NY City and goes to the taBles to go a gap her dad. But they both get more.
Sweet love story about two people from two different worlds. I thought these was really good and I enjoyed reading these. I look forward to reading more stories by these author.
Good read, entertaIning Characters not complicated enjoyed their interaction love shorter stories. Light enjoyable reading just for entertainment to escape with.
It was good, I just think I prefer Kit Morgan’s early 1900s westerns to a modern take on a western. This kind of threw me because it was modern but still a four star read in my opinion. A clean romance.
His family got left a riding stable in Brooklyn. So he had to travel from Oregon to New York to check it out. Her friend had a horse boarded at the riding stable and God works on mysterious ways to get two people together.
