Can Gray help his new office manager clean her dirty laundry? Or will the mafia princess hang him out to dry?

Since leaving the FBI Grayson Jennings has found peace in his life with his job as a forensic accountant with Deep Six Security and he treasures it. It remains that way until Michaela Girabaldi is hired as the new office manager for their east coast office.

The smart-mouthed Jersey girl strolls into the office in red high heels with her bags packed with enough dirty laundry to last them both a lifetime. In Prison. Her dirtiest laundry is the 1.2 million dollars she insists she didn't steal from the mob and Gray is wrangled into helping her find it.

Well, this was not Gray's first rodeo with a beautiful criminal and he had the bruises to prove it. He was not going to blindly trust a woman ever again, especially one suspected of murder and many other nasty crimes. He would help her, but he wouldn't be getting into bed with the mafia princess or falling for her or her games.

Mickie says only her cousin knows where the loot is located, so Gray sets out to find her. To do that, he'll have to follow the money, but he is afraid at the end of that trail he'll find a lot more than he bargained for, because had a feeling the sexy-as-sin woman was guilty as hell.

But will he find the money before the mob finds Mickie? Or will she distract him with her Nonna's Magic Massage Oil and fritattas at the beach house where they're hiding out and get them both killed?

Mickie has found herself in a bad situation that leaves her without a place to go. After getting through what should have been a quick stop for coffee, she heads over for a job interview. She is in need of money to keep her going and find her cousin. Lou Ellen is back, and she’s taking charge with Gray to get Deep Six up and running in DC. Mickie’s interview is with Lou Ellen, and she ends up running into the “dick” from the coffee shop. When she realizes where she’s applied and knowing her secrets are ones that can easily be trusted she must make a decision…to run or stay and trust! Gray, agree to hires Mickie when Lou Ellen puts her trust in her, but I don’t think he realized the adventure he would have with her while trying to help her out. This is another great addition to Deep Six series, and it’s nice to get to read about some of those other Deep Six characters from previous books. I highly recommend this book… hell… the series even!!

Don't tell Dave and Susan, but this is probably my favorite Deep Six book yet. Gray and Mickie's story has a different tone than the rest of them, and they left me laughing quite a bit and fanning myself almost as much. Who knew bean counters could be so romantic?? Becky McGraw has another winner and I highly recommend it.

This H.E. is a Big Dill! Who doesn’t Love the Boys from Deep Six Security!

Polished, son of Politician meets his match in the form of a fiery, Italian girl from Jersey!

Grayson Jennings was under the impression that his job helping to hire new help for The Deep Six Securities was going to be walk in the park, until a little Jersey spit fire walks in toting some dangerous baggage. When he sees she’s in trouble, he cautiously gives his word to help her. Not one to trust easily, after having been lied to n the past by the woman he loved. Gray is hoping he’s not being deceived again, however as new information comes to light Gray is tested again seeing similarities to past mistakes. Can Gray keep a level head to sort through the lies to find the truth about Mickie and help her untangle the mysteries of who is hot on her trail and exactly what they want while fighting the attraction he feels towards her?

Michaela Girabaldi (aka Mickie) finds herself right in the middle of a mob/gang movie type plot. On run from the people who killed her uncle and some bad guys looking for their money Mickie lands right in Grayson’s lap. As Gray reluctantly begins to help her by unraveling the secrets and twists that have become her life’s story, Mickie finds herself falling for the Deep Six forensic accountant. As new discoveries are made, lies are told can Gray keep believing Mickie’s story is 100 percent truth or does he allow doubt to creep in a cause him to lose faith in her.

This is a fast pace story full of humor and twists that keep you not wanting to put this book down!

I was lucky enough to win an ARC of Gray Matter. I was so happy, I could have cried. I cannot begin to tell you how long I have waited for the uptight accountant's story to be told. It was worth every breath I took while I waited and dreamed of what trouble Becky McGraw would put him through.

Gray is out of his comfort zone. He may have been from DC. He may have once worked in DC, but he likes the comfort of the Dallas Compound where he happily plays with digits all day long and halfway into the night. He already had his world turn upside down in DC. The last thing Gray needs is another Mona.

His world is turned upside down in a coffee shop. Talk about first impressions!!! Michaela Girabaldi is his complete opposite. She is loud. She is disorganized. Her thrift shop cloths conflict with Armani is all you need to know to realize fireworks are going to fly.

Gray heads back to the office in a terrible mood. Mickie has interrupted his state of calm. More Fireworks---she has applied for and been hired to work in the new office. In this story fireworks are in the form bullets are flying at Mickie. What is stalker Gray to do?? He comes to her rescue.

Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of suspense. Mobsters, Cartel, her brother, team members all make life difficult for Gray. Hawk is in his element -teasing, harrassing, flirting. Gray is in he element going over books trying to save Mickie, convict Mickie, love Mickie, hate Mickie.

Grab this book. Dive in deep. The excitement will have you biting your nails. The sexual tension will have you looking for a walk-in freezer. And the ending---Holy Hot Tamales---

We have been waiting for a good while to find out what happened to Gray. Heartache and disappointment has followed this accountant for some time. I have heard it said, to all men some good must fall (at some time) so we know this fellas time would come.

Deep Six is making a move east, and that means getting personnel in place to run the shop.

When a story starts with a beautiful Italian fireball named Michaela Girabaldi, we know it is going to be hot. Heck, even her name smolders as it slides off the tongue. From the minute Gray meets Mickie, we know this is going to be a wild ride for them both. Little does either know to what extent their encounters will take them, or how each circumstance will draw them closer to the other.

That italian spirit and those old family secrets can be helpful as well as harmful . . .depending on who you are.

Becky McGraw, this was a trip I was not expecting. One with all sorts of twist and turns, where each character had to address their own “elephant in the room”. This story kept me riveted to the next page, because there were so many questions that needed to be answered. If I was not laughing, I was scratching my head. At times Becky had me wondering if love would ever come about, and even if it did, would it last. The ending, is nothing less than priceless, and touching.

Congratulations Becky, you have definitely put a great story together with this one and I cannot believe I can only give five stars as that is not enough. Great job!!

Deep Six Security is getting ready to open a DC branch and their office manager Lou Ellen and Forensic Accountant Grayson Jennings are there to get things moving, including hiring some new personnel. Michaela Girabaldi is at the end of her rope and the end of her money. She is running from the mob after they took out her employer, her uncle who specialized in money laundering, making book and sundry other questionable activities. When Lou Ellen takes a shine to Mickie and hires her on the spot as office manager, can Gray become Mickie's savior by following the money and getting her out of the jackpot she is in with the mob, the feds and the Mexican cartel who are all trying to get her? Or will he be the one to serve her up on a silver platter to the feds? Oh, and the fact that she is sassy and beautiful and has snagged his imagination and heart keep things even more interesting!
This is the fifth book in the Deep Six Security series by Ms. McGraw and may be my favorite in the group! Both Gray and Mickie are multifaceted and interesting characters with complex issues. Plus, they are both funny! Mickie is sassy and smart and able to hold her own in a crowd of dominant alpha men (a house full of brothers can do that for you!). There is a lot of humor throughout the book as well as a great plot and excellent development. A well deserved 5 stars! Oh and can I take Gray home with me? The inspiration for Gray is as handsome as sin!

I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Never under-estimate the hotness of the numbers-crunching guy in an office full of alpha-male ex-military types! He's "kind of a big 'dill'".

Loved how Gray and Mickie met at the coffee shop because it really set the tone for the rest of their initial relationship.

Mickie is "set up" for a crime she didn't commit. Or did she? Grayson has to solve the few clues surrounding the death of Mickie's uncle and the apparent embezzlement of millions from the mafia all while keeping Mickie safe from both the mafia and a drug-running gang. Gray has to overcome his doubts about Mickie's innocence but every time he is convinced that she is telling the truth, another piece of evidence turns up to make him question both her innocence and their relationship.

Mickie's brother, Dante, shows up as a larger than life "made man" (or is he?) who may or may not be trying to help Gray and Mickie stay safe and prove Mickie didn't do the crimes she is accused of.

The chemistry between Gray and Mickie is so hot that I'm pretty sure I saw smoke coming from my Kindle! And I don't think I have ever seen a book cover model who so exactly matches the written description of the H. And that makes me giggle when I think of Gray reading Mickie's romance novel!

Overall, I loved this book! Also really liked how Mickie's brother gave Gray advise on how to win Mickie's heart. Can't wait for Dante's story - "Italian Stallion" indeed.

Both of these people were passionate but in different ways. They had the potential to really compliment one another and bring out the best in the other person too. Their bickering was a bit more than just that, though, at times Gray was downright mean and I couldn't get behind that. And to have angry sex be a focus wasn't exactly my favorite either. Gray was so determined to not be swindled that he held on to his mistrust tighter than he held onto Michaela and that cost him in the end. Did they work it out? Of course they did...it was the how that was pretty entertaining. The whole story was tumultuous and full of frustrations on all sides. I liked Michaela's fire and vulnerability. She was the star of the couple and kept me hoping for the best for them. A couple other people stole the show, though and that was Hawk and Dante. Especially Dante. I'm looking forward to reading their stories. Overall, this was a pretty good book that makes me curious about all the other players in the series. As for this particular relationship, I'm on the fence because I think that there are some key foundation elements that are missing from their relationship. Their fire and commitment should see them through, though, so their HEA did feel both hard-won and believable.

Read and willingly reviewed this ARC for the author.

Marie's Tempting Reads ARC Review:

What a crazy, exciting, action-packed adventure with surprising humor, witty banter, compelling characters, and a sizzling HOOOOOT romance! This is my first Becky McGraw read and I have to say, I am STUNNED with it. I wasn't expecting my first read from her to be so freaking AMAZING! I LOOOOVED Michaela! Her attitude, spunk, smarts just made me want to be BFFs with her! And Gray, he is gorgeous, and broody, and when he and Michaela get together, all sorts of sparks fly. The heat is INTENSE between them and the constant push and pull just had me eagerly turning the pages.

Now the action and danger was ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT GOOD! Between that and the constant heat and romance, it made for one heck of a incredible read! Once I dug into Gray Matter I did not want to leave until I was finished and then I just wanted another taste. Now I am determined to go back to previous books in this series to read what I have missed because Becky McGraw won me over.

Gray Matter is just a TON OF FUN and one great adventure with great chemistry! I give this book an AMAZINGLY WRITTEN FIVE SHOOTING STARS!

Gray Matter is the fifth book in the Deep Six Security series and it will leave you laughing, crying, and swooning, yes swooning! Grayson Jennings is an accountant, a bean counter, but he is a sexy hunk who knows how to handle himself in just about any situation, that is until he meets Michaela Girabaldi and she turns his OCD life upside down. Mickie is a hot, sassy, sexy Italian, who knows how to use a purse to her advantage, and she uses it quite often on Gray. Mickie finds herself in a lot of trouble at her old job, and Gray becomes someone she thinks she can trust, not knowing that because of things in his past, he has big time trust issues. Gray decides to try and help her anyway, but since these two are like oil and vinegar, that is when the fun begins.
I absolutely loved the first meeting between Gray and Mickie, it had me laughing out loud. Also loved the way Gray got the nickname Mr. Big Dill. I loved the other characters in this book, Hawkins, Lou Ellen, and especially Dante. Her little dog Tito, will steal your heart too.
I give this one five swooning stars and highly recommend it.

Gray Matter – Deep Six Security #5 by Becky McGraw – 5 stars

“Every one of us has had trouble of some kind, but we didn’t run from it. We had the courage to run toward it, together, to reclaim our lives.”

This is the 5th book in the Deep Six Security series and it is the first one I have read. It read well as a stand-alone and while I knew there were characters whose stories had already been told, it didn’t make me feel I was missing something – it just made me want to go back to where it all began.

Grayson Jennings “Gray” “The Big Dill” and Michaela “Mickie” “Jersey” are the main characters of Gray Matter. They meet at a coffee shop when Mickie is trying to pay for her coffee. “Lady, could you please finish playing Let’s Make a Deal with that purse? I have to get back to the office.” I really feel like this line could sum up the whole book. There is humor and sexy times and a mystery to be solved. Mickie and Gray both bring different personalities to the story that balance it out perfectly.

I really enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading the entire series. Becky McGraw has just become a “one-click” author for me.

Gray Matter is the fifth title in the Deep Six Security series, a romantic suspense features a pair of opposites who are undeniably attracted to each other.

Mickie finds herself in trouble, and goes into hiding. A job interview with Deep Six Security, ends up being her saving grace. She's incredibly impulsive, headstrong, loud, sassy, passionate and quick tempered, as well as being incredibly resilient and strong.

Mickie's savior is Gray a forensic accountant with trust issues. Gray's world of structure and organisation is thrown into chaos from the moment he encounters Mickie. Grayson is controlled, intelligent, protective, determined and an alpha to boot.

The banter between this pair is fun, flirty, and full of wit and humor. Their story is full of drama, action, suspense, intrigue and romance.

This was my first time reading anything written by Becky McGraw but it will not be my last. I thoroughly enjoyed this title and look forward to reading more of Deep Six Security in the future.

Gray Matter will keep you laughing.

This book will tickle your funny bone and your heart strings. Grayson Jennings is the total staid, stoic, boring accountant he professes to be. But Grayson has a secret that only he realizes he didn't used to be that way...life turned him into the workaholic he is but little does he know his life is about to change and he will never be the same again. The chaos that Michaela brought into his world was more than he was capable of dealing in the beginning and all he wanted in the end. Becky McGraw has the ability to make you laugh and sigh at the same time as you read. Her character development is phenomenal I felt like I knew each person as they were described. I know this Italian family from Nonna to each brother and Michaela sassy, sarcastic and innocent ...perfection. This book will keep you gripped in its pages until the very last page and you will wish for more only because the characters will endear themselves to your heart. You have to read this book and this author.

Becky McGraw has done it again with another Deep Six Security Book. Grayson Jennings is a former FBI accountant right that's what I thought an accounts well okay. Grayson has the task of opening a new office and when the security company is looking to hire someone he never imagines his path crossing with Michaela Girabaldi. Michaela is passionate and sassy and will make you laugh with her spunk. She is out to find the truth of what really happened with her family and her life. What she doesn't expect is to come face-to-face with a man who makes her blood boil and her skin tingle all at the same time. When Grayson finds out her secrets all hell will break loose and not in a good way. These two go through all the tribal's and tribulations of a relationship and in the end Michaela's life might be proved to be to much for Grayson to deal with. Can these two find out the truth and come out on top?

This is book 5 in Ms McGraw’s series , Deep Six Security. Whether you are new to the series, or have been following it from day one, it’s a stand alone and you will have no problems following the plot.
Deep Six Security is opening a new branch in DC and is hiring . Gray Jennings , the forensic accountant for them, is there to help in the hiring of new employees. In comes Michaela Girabaldi, who brings along a truck load of trouble. One being , running away from the mob and money missing. Yikes!!
Gray is thrown in the middle of her mess. In the midst of him helping her, they have enough chemistry that could easily zap you.
Will these two outwit the bad guys? Will they finally get together? If you have enjoyed the previous stories in the series, and like intrigue, suspense, bad guys, hunky heros, strong female characters and oh, yes, romance, this one is for you.
I was gifted this copy. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

The Deep Six Security Series is back again, with just as much action and adventure as the previous 4 books. Not only is there action, but there are hysterics that will keep you laughing as you turn the pages quickly to get to the finale. This is a total one sit read.

This book is exactly what happens when the quiet accountant finally leaves the desk and tries to help the damsel in distress. Only that damsel is not asking for his help, and she is running from the mob and the FBI, but she doesn’t really know it.

The fun and banter, the sexual tension and the fighting is just what makes a Becky McGraw book so worth missing a whole day to read it. To say that I have my calendar marked for the next one with an alert as to when it comes out, is an understatement. I LOVE Deep Six Security!

This is a very well written book. It is the 5th in the series.
I like the story line and unexpected plot. It has been true to the term twists and turns. A different and enjoyable story that caught me from the first to last page. The author pushes you with her way of using the words to come through a lot os emotional feelings. That is from frustration until laughing. And that describes a good book. The story flows of the pages. This book has it all; drama, action, passion, chemistry, suspence and hot scenes. Grayson and Michaela are such a well suited couple.

Gray Matter by Becky McGraw is absolutely spell-binding. Ms McGraw has delivered a well-written book and loaded it with amazing characters. Kudos to Ms McGraw for weaving a story with enough suspense, action, humor and sizzle to keep readers tied to Gray and Mickie's story. Their tale left me satisfied with the HEA and sad to reach the end of the book. I totally enjoyed Gray Matter and look forward to reading more from the talented Becky McGraw in the future. Gray Matter is book 5 of the Deep Six Security Series but can easily be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

This is book 5 in the Deep Six Security series and it features Grayson Jennings and Michaela "Mickey" Girabaldi. The story was exhausting in a very good way. The action was constant and the story line involved a lot of variables but was easy to follow. Michaela was the typical New Jersey Italian woman. Funny as hell! I was a little irritated with Grayson for his constant fickleness towards Michaela. I realize he'd been burned before but he was brutal and she deserved better.

The characters in this story were unbelievably amazing! Even though this is book 5 in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I'm excited to see who gets the next adventure.

Oh my!!!

All I can say WOW!!! This is by far my favorite book by Becky McGraw. Being an Italian girl myself I could relate to the attitude, family , language and food Mickie experiences. I laughed throughout this whole book and tore through it in two days. And Grayson was so hot and intriguing. My kind of guy! These two characters are polar opposites which makes for a fun and interesting read right up to the end. The mafia and Mexican drug lords are after them for crimes Mickie is accused of but didn't commit. And don't even get me started on Mickies brother Dante! Whew! Can't wait for the next story!! A+!

Gray Matter by Becky McGraw is book 5 in the Deep Six Security Series and like the previous books in this series it is an exciting attention getting novel with a romantic bent. You can't help but get a kick out Grayson Jennings reaction to Michaela Girabaldi, a smart-mouthed Jersey girl running from the mob. They are like fire and ice. Their relationship is a real hoot to read and enjoy. This is a great book and I hardily recommend reading it.

Who knew how hot an accountant could be.... Loved this story was funny, hot and suspenseful. To this calm mild mannered man so out of sorts by a woman was fun to witness. The sparks and humor between the two of them kept you laughing through out the book. Can't wait to know more about Dante in the future....I definitely want to know more about him but loved how he supported his sister even knowing it would probably ruin his career. As always Becky McGraw gave her readers what we needed and now can't wait for the next story.

Gray Matter is an action paced, faced paced story that contains everything from murder, mystery, hot alpha men, strong determined women and a story-line that drug me in and wouldn't let me put it down.

The Deep Six Security books have topics that are a little more intense than your average romance and this one deals with the mob which I find interesting and scary, but what a great read.

I was happy to to read and review this as an advanced copy from the author/publisher .

Hah! I was definitely hooked from the very beginning. A little Italian whirlwind known as Mickie just found herself in the middle of a big convoluted mess.
Gray to the rescue, a smokin hot bean counter!
Oh my gawd, the dialogue between these two really is snort-laugh worthy and their chemistry rivals Nonna's magic oil.
This hit all my buttons as a fast paced and fantastic read.
The introduction of new characters--perfect for their new East Coast Office.
This is so Becky!!! Loved it.

Wow. This was fast-paced, hilarious, and a bit sexy. Completely unexpected characters that were very well written, and plot twists that weren't entirely predictable (an achievement for this romance sub-genre)! I enjoyed the author's easy, flowing writing style, and the spatters of Italian cursing and words of affection. This is my first taste of Becky McGraw's Deep Six Security series, as I received this book for free (and am voluntarily reviewing) but I will be reading the first four asap!
