Alpha Awakening - Adam Adam is fulfilling his dream to play ball and is excited to be on his own, away from the compound. He never imagined he’d meet Bella, his mate, a Breeder. Bella is a member of a religious group and cannot have any interaction with outsiders. Adam’s wolf won’t accept excuses and pushes Adam to take their mate. Bella’s determined to remain true to her faith. Can these two find a compromise before a corrupt group destroys the compound? Will Bella take a chance on a reformed playboy? This is the second book in the La Patron's Den Series.
I live in the southeast and enjoy reading and writing all things paranormal. Nothing is more relaxing than cracking open a new adventure in a new world.
I love paranormal tales and characters in general and shifter stories in particular. Throw in the romantic element, strong Alpha characters who bend beneath the power of love and I’m over the moon. Sighs…
AWESOME!!!! Breathtakingly Handsome Just Like His Father!!!!!!
Wow, Ms. Sydney, you did it again. I found this novel to be just as interesting and action packed as all the others. You are really doing your thing when it comes to the pups of La Patron and Jasmine. This book had so much action in it until, I was turning page after page and reading every line. Sometimes, I had to go back and reread because I thought I had missed something. The love Bella and Adam had for each other really radiated at the end of the story. I truly enjoyed the pace and progression of their love story. I can hardly wait to read about the two remaining pups....
After dealing with the death of her mother Bella tries to move on with her life and pursuit the music she loves outside of the Boreal Order. She unknowingly sets off a series of events just with wishing her life were in a different stage causing Adam, the playboy soccer-playing pup of La Patron, to realize she is his mate. Not knowing that she is a virgin breeder sending out mating pheromones that set off events of almost a cataclysmic proportions. Now she has to deal with the unbelievable information that Adam has revealed to her, plus having to possibly lose another parent, while defending the secrets of the secretive Boreal Order. Just when one thinks that Bella and Adam can finally have their HEA, an old jealousy rears its ugly head that violates the main rule of mates and mating, one dare not touch another wolf's mate or put her in danger. It was only the beautiful singing voice of Bella that could soothe his angry beast.
I loved reading this story. It kept my attention from beginning to end. We see Bella evolve from an innocent sheltered young woman to a woman thoroughly in love with her mate. We also see a devil may care playboy living his good life doing what he loves to do until he gets a wif of those potent pheromones Bella was sending and he knew that she was his mate. But, he learned that he had to take baby steps and be patient with his mate. That was something he never had to do before with females but Bella was special, she was his, all his and made especially for him. He could not risk losing her, the consequences would be devastating to him if he lost his mate. We see him being the perfect mate and protecting her with everything in him with the help of friends and family.
Adam the most playful and seemingly easy going of the quad is slowly awakening to the wolf and man he is meant to be. He is the first born male of and seen as a jokester because he enjoyed laughter and fun. But little did they know that he had so much depth and was as much La Patron's son as his brother David and thus as dangerous when roused. Adam has found his niche in playing soccer and a tight friendship with Tomas. While in Italy for a tournament his awakening begins. The free spirit finds his mate and she's so different than what anyone could imagine but perfect for Adam.
Bella lived a strict life in a religious community and had no idea about the Nation and all that comes with it. She is smart and gifted with an incredible talent. Before she meets Adam and is thrust into his world there are thing she must learn about herself and the world in which she lives. Bella finds herself in the midst of pain and loss.
The storyline was intense and steady. The background issues kept the story flowing and showed a different side of mating that we had not seen before. Adam 's complex and so is Bella. Would they find common ground or would their mating not get off the ground? Buy this book and find out. You will not be disappointed. There are a few typos and missing letters but it does not take away from the story nor does it pull you out if the story.
This is my review and how I see it. Author Sydney Addae in book two of the LaPatron's Den series explores the life outside the den for the oldest pup from Silas and Jasmine Knight. Adam who we knew to be the mischievous one of his brother and sisters have gone to play Fut bol (soccer) in an overseas league. Life over there was not without its challenges for Adam.
When Adam meets Bella, his wolf wants to claim her right then and there; however, it seems this young pup is up against a challenge of a lifetime his mate is very unique. His mate is a virginal breeder who belongs to a religious commune.
While at some point I felt that Bella hindered Adam, as well as the untimeliness of the songs that she sang, was a bit inappropriate during the situations that were taking place. All in all, it was an enjoyable read.
I hope there wasn't a clue left about Tomas in this book, it seemed unfair given the circumstances and it should not be like parents as so will be for the child.
Adam's living the high life, his team won the championship and he's relaxing in Rome. Bella has just lost her mom, her mother's last wish was for her to go to Rome to study music. This is how they meet but that's just the beginning. From here we're on a roller coaster, from pure breeds chasing Bella because she's a breeder in heat to zealots attacking Bella's home because of the secret buried there. Adam has to learn to go slow and really cultivate his patience. We get the rest of the family support throughout the story as well, it's great.
Adam is the man!! This man had something to prove not only to his mate but to himself! In the same process showed his mate that she could live free from doctrine bondage. Sydney Addae can write a paranormal story like no one else! I can't just read a few pages then stop. I have to read to the end. I recommend reading the entire series.... go ahead you will not be disappointed!!!
Not a bad story about one of Jasmine & Silas' sons. Adam was basically a playboy but meeting his mate matures him.
Bella lived a very sheltered life but she handled things with Adam pretty well.
They faced unexpected challenges and I do wonder if the Order will appear in future stories. While not my favorite of the series, it wasn't bad. And apparently La Patron's den can't help but find trouble. Lol.
I really enjoy reading books by Sydney Addae! This entire book was awesome! I so love the adult size Adam! And David for that matter! I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Si!as and Jasmine raised some respectful, powerful, intelligent pups! I love this series.
As usual you knocked it out the park. It's Christmas comes early every time a new book comes out in this series.
Jasmine and Silas need to have more Pups to keep this series going for longer than the four. I will go back and re-read some of my favorites until next book comes out. Hurry up. Thanks.
was really looking forward to this book but i have to say i am struggling with it, tbh i'm bored. i have forced myself to read this book up to 79% and if it wasn't part of la patrons series i would have dnf it.
just not holding me at all, the chemistry between adam and bella is decidedly missing, i'm just not feeling it from them at all.
sadly there is only one La Patron!!
... and whats with grown arsed adults still calling their fathers Daddy incl Adam!! honestly the books called alpha awakening and i'm supposed to take him seriously as an alpha and he's still calling his father daddy! yeah NO
....and what was it about bella's singing? it wasnt explained at all, did it have powers? her just singing out of the blue, well i found it all a bit silly tbh.
I can't wait for the next book! She takes me all the way to the edge. This story I'd hot from the beginning to the end. The words just drip off the pages like hot sex. Come join the world of LA Patron and you won't be disappointed! LOVE HER BOOKS AND JOIN THE DIN ON FACEBOOK. KT
I really like Sydney Addae's books. I stopped reading this series a couple of years ago. I recently went through my library and realized I hadn't read The Den series. So glad I did because Adam was always my favorite and I like Bella's spirit. I'm ready to read Renee!
Adam the playbook and soccer player, meets a woman who doesn't fall at his feet. Bella has lived a sheltered life in a religious community. She at first doesn't understand him or his world. Due to some challenges she must trust him to protect her. And with a show of how he is able to protect her, her feelings shift towards him.
This was another great book written very nicely by Ms. Addae. I truly appreciate her skills and imagination, I have read all of the books in this series I hope she continues to write books particularly in this series until Ms. Addae becomes bored..
I loved the story! Both Adam and Bella grew as people and as a couple. Addae always delivers. The religious controversy kept it interesting. Can't wait for the next book!
Showed a different side of Adam that need to be seen. His mate is a perfect balance for him. It was not what he was looking for but what he needed. I can't wait for David's story.
Setting up Bella's part of the story was awkward and too long. Once that was over the story kept pace and went smoothly. I have avoided reading the children's stories but now I am going to back up and get Jackie's.
I've loved every book in this series and Adam's story with Bella was yet another amazing installment. I love how each book has fresh elements and twists that keep the series exciting. I can't wait to see what Sydney comes up with next for the Wolf Nation!
The wild child has finally met his match in a quiet religious zealot. The Goddess doesn’t make mistakes so he’s gotta step up to the task and prove himself all the while keeping her safe. This is a nail-biter but an excellent story.
Enjoyed this read. Adam was very strong and vulnerable at the same time. Bella had hesitations at first, but became his rock. Loved that she loved his wolf. Alpha Barticus was the man. Loved that we got a little of the twins and David.
The book was really good and I loved that it was only focused around the kids, not so much of the parents. It's really amazing how far this series has come.
