Brooklyn, Drew, Symone, and Leah grew up the best of friends. Their parents co-own and operate Patterson Pharmaceutical Company, a thriving business that has continuously grown over the last ten years. But after the economy took a hard turn, the family business suffered significant losses, leaving the family’s income on pins and needles. To make matters worse, the property the Patterson’s inherited from their late grandparents is up for auction from missed payments the family was not aware they’d missed. With the family’s debt growing and relationships being tested, the four friends decide to take drastic measures to get the funds needed to secure generational survival. Being high-end thieves was not something they agreed on overnight. Taking from the less fortunate they couldn’t stomach, But stealing from those who already had plenty might just save the family from ruin.

What a refreshing surprise. Totally different from what I usually get from urban fiction. This book has an actual plot. The characters have motivations not centered around getting a man. The Bechdel Test is passed!

With the family's pharmaceutical company not benefiting from today's opioid crisis, Symone, Drew, Leah and Brooklyn turn to high dollar crime to keep things afloat. They've just pulled off a successful heist overseas but back in the States things are starting to fall apart. The ladies are shaken but not stirred as they pull themselves together and get to work to fix their problems.

The writing could use a bit more polishing. There were some clunky moments that read like, "She opened the car door. She got into the car. She closed the car door." Thankfully it's just a few lines like that.

Absolutely Captivating

WOW this is a enjoyable story to read with characters that are easy to enjoy! The heroes so far is women who just wants to love and be loved. They have a connection of family that's so strong that makes it seem as though they are known as sisters with each other. But there is someone who is determined to come between them and sever their bond. This is a suspenseful story that has a little of everything and it will never be denied a woman who loves her child will not allow anyone or anything to get in the way of her having them because she desires them above all else. This is not just a typical romance, since it has elements that's so surprising and of course throughout the entire time there’s something so unbelievable that’s just simmering beneath the surface, and that along with the depth of passion that the main characters have for each other. It's what makes this book such a page turner. I found the characters and storyline to be my favorite parts but I really enjoyed this story that I hope for a series and oh did I forget about the cliffhanger but I don't mind because it's still worth staying up nights to binge on this story that's fantastic!

"Prowl" (Nothing Else Matters But Survival Book 1) by Stephanie Nicole Norris & Deidra D. S. Green

My Thoughts....

What a interesting mystery thriller and suspense read that these two authors gives the readers. It is definitely one of those stories that you will not want to put down because there is so much going on keeping ones attention. The whole idea of this story was off the chart being well written involving 'stealing a salt shaker' but only to find out that wouldn't be the end of these four ladies problems. Not only that but we find that the FBI maybe on them too. Then the story will get into some twist and turns that will only leave the reader to a cliff hanger. So, we will be left wanting to know what has happened to ...! Well, the reader will have to get Book 2 in "Prowl [Nothing Else Matters But Survival]" to learn what is going on with Brooklyn, Drew, Symone and Leah.

Prowl (Nothing Else Matters But Survival Book 1)

I am familiar with the DMV downtown areas so the various places were interesting to read about. The main characters are sisters Brooklyn & Drew Patterson, their twin cousins Leah & Nia Hunter, and close family friend Symone Ellis. These 🚺 work in the different fields such as museum curator, social worker, and business owner. Faced with losing their parents pharmaceutical business & farmland (Patterson/Hunter Legacy), the women become professional thieves! A great story line with exciting 🐕 chase the 🐱 involving FBI Agents Mason and his partner, Brittany .

This is my first time reading the author Stephanie Norris' work. There are three 📚 in this series and I plan to read them all. I definitely would recommend the author Stephanie Norris (a new author for me).

Got for an honest review.

The author’s pull me into the world they built for their characters. Once you pick it up to start reading you can’t stop reading. I didn’t want to miss anything so I didn’t put it down.
“We’re stealing a salt shaker” Loved the story.
Thought it was well written and the characters were well developed. Drew’s character makes me like her. FBI seem like they might be on their trail. The story moves at a very good pace to keep it moving along. The twist and turns keep you that much more interested on whats going on.
Another great book from the authors. Hope to keep reading their books in the future.

Thank you for letting me read your story.

La familia

Alright, now Stephanie!! Our introduction to Brooklyn, Drew, Leah, and Symone was explosive. We have sistas and sistas from another mother coming together to save their legacy by any means necessary. Throw in some love interests, unforseen complications, and missing loved ones returning.....you just sit on the edge of your chair or couch caught up in all the happenings. Enjoy your reading!! Blessings

This thriller was written so well that I kept reading until the end; just couldn't put it down! The characters are very well-developed, the action continuous, and best of all I could see and hear the characters, they're so real. The salt cellar at the center of this story is real, and researching for a photograph of it was worth it; it's interesting to see what was desired.

These are the baddest chicks

This crew is the coldest and they are about that business. They have the best cover up and the least expected. Symone and Mason has this chemistry that is undeniable but also dangerous to act on at this time. I can't wait to see what the books have in store!
Great job ladies, I truly enjoyed reading this book!!

Drama central

The women are prime example of drama central. So much is going on with them, but the more they try to fix things, the trouble they seem to attract. Can't wait to see how it all plays out.

Friends helping friends

This was a great read! These ladies were thieves with brains and beauty. It seemed like a lot of money and far fetched but a great fantasy thought. I really want to know what happens so I will keep reading. Some grammatical errors but not enough to distract!

1/17/18 There are 3 books in this series of which I have read 2 and currently reading #3 but Goodreads is not reflecting the series, not sure why or who will update this so that it will be reflective?????

These ladies were good at accomplishing their capers. I liked the fact each one had a different speciality in thievery they had mastered. I think Legend will become one after he's finished dealing with these females. Good storyline that kept me going to find out if they would successfully complete these difficult but clever heists. Looking forward to reading the next part.

Prowl 2 ------5*****
Good continuation of the series as the ladies up the antics and attempt an even bigger heist. Edge of the seat action as I felt I was present for these death defying heist.
Looking forward to next part

Good ending

Almost everyone gets to happy and it looks like these ladies are retiring. Not as thrilling as the first two installments, but nice closure to the series.
