I couldn't wait to get to know Roxy better. After meeting her in Mr. Fiancé and finding her to be a barrel of fun, I was eager to read the HEA that Lauren Landish would create for her. And it truly was a sweet ending. And just how swoon-worthy was her match, Jake Stone??? He was gorgeous, ambitious, a truly good person, and he was raising his little sister all on his own. Dang, what a catch! This story was packed with steam, love and romance and was my absolute favorite book from this author to date.

Release Date: June 25, 2017
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Heartstopper is another Winner by Lauren Landish. This book is Roxy and Jake’s story. Jake is a new character in the LL world but you already know Roxy from Mr. Fiancé. She’s Mindy’s little sister.
Roxy always wanted to be a famous singer but she never got famous so now she does something else for work in order to bring money in. She ends up getting a promotion at work and she goes out to celebrate it with her best friend. Roxy meets Jake and they are immediately attracted to each other. Roxy decides to have a one night stand since it has been so long yet the night doesn’t go the way either wanted it to.
Jake Stone has just opened up Club Jasmine and when he spots Roxy across the room on opening night, he is instantly gobsmacked by her. He wants her with ever fiber in his being but things take a turn and neither are able to get that one nighter they were both wanting.
Sexual tension between these two is deep and intense. There are a lot of things that keep getting in the way of these two finding love but their connection was instant and that attraction is ever deepening. This is a fantastic journey that Roxy and Jake go thru, each in their own way of learning about oneself, each other-- putting yourself out there, and opening your heart for true love. Will they or wont they is the question for this story. You will love this book and fall for both main characters in this story as I did.

1.5 stars. This wasn't for me...

This really wasn't for me. I read the previous book in the series and I actually liked it, but this is like a different author wrote it. I don't remember the other one being so silly. This one is just so... juvenile, for lack of a better term.
In the previous book I liked Roxie, she was funny and charming, but in this story there were moments when I was just rolling my eyes. Example: She goes to this nightclub, and 5 minutes after meeting the H, they decide they want each other, so he takes her to a back room at the club that is very conveniently furnished with bedroom furniture (I know, why is there a bedroom at a nightclub?), so anyway the start kissing but the H is suddenly unconscious (he drank a spiked beer that was intended for the h), so she thinks he just died. And what does she do? Not get help. No, she calls her best friend and starts joking around that a guy just died on her, and why she has such bad luck. So that's just an example that might give you an idea of the book.It is plagued with absurd situations and silly things. I think it is meant to be funny, and maybe if I was in high school I would like the book, but unfortunately I'm not in high school and I really didn't get it. Even the dialogue was childish at times. The epilogue had me cringing.
I think I won't read any other books by this author.

Oh my days how annoying can a book be?
Roxy was so far up her own ass it was sickening. Didn't like Hannah one bit either.
Plenty of things I could list that I hated about this book but one was very early on in the book.
Jake literally watched her walk across the bar, he had only just saw her for the first time yet when he sees a guy touching her he gets angry.
Wtf? Get a grip
As soon as Jake saves roxy from the creep she looks at him and thinks this night will change her life forever
YOUVE LITERALLY JUST MET!
Then when they're getting down to it in the back room she says "take me"
Seriously who even says that anymore?
Cringey as hell
Could list more annoyances but I think you get the gist

Heartstopper is another great book by Lauren Landish. This book put a big smile on my face. This book is Roxy and Jake’s story. Jake is a new character, but you may already know Roxy from Mr. Fiancé. She’s Mindy’s little sister.

Roxy always dreamed of being a famous singer, but she never got famous and does something else now for work. She gets a promotion at work and she goes out to celebrate it with her best friend. She also hopes to meet a man for a one night stand, because it has been a long time. Roxy meets Jake and they are immediately attracted to each other. The night doesn’t end the way they both wanted it. Roxy never expected to see Jake ever again, but Jake hoped to see her again soon. They see each other again at the place they least expected it.

Jake is hot, caring, loyal and kind. He works hard and he’s good at it. He wants it to be a success. He immediately noticed Roxy when she walked in the club and he wanted her. He can’t forget her and he still wants her after that night they met. There is something about her that he thinks is special and different. Jake supports her dream of becoming a singer and helps her every way he can. He loves to hear her sing.

Roxy is a funny, loving and loyal woman. She is so passionate about singing and she’s good at it. Jake inspires her to write songs and perform again. She loves how supportive he is. Roxy likes Jake and she can’t believe what happened their first night. She can’t stop thinking about him. Roxy and Jake has a great chemistry and they are so hot together!

This book also has some amazing secondary characters. Roxy’s grandmother made me laugh every single time! She’s hilarious and the best. I loved Roxy and Jake’s friends. I hope that there will be a book about some of their friends. I can’t wait for the next one.

-- My honest review is based on an advanced reader copy of this book. --

Roxy is an aspiring singer working an office job when she goes clubbing one night at a hot new club. There she meets Jake who owns the club and the two of them almost sleep together, after running off she expects to never see him again but then discovers he's her new boss. She is determined to keep things professional, but he's not.
I really liked this book Roxy's determination to make it on her own was admirable and her chemistry and feelings for Jake were off the charts from the beginning. I thought Jake was sexy, sweet, and playful at times and I really enjoyed his relationship with her. I also liked that Jake was so close to his sister who at times could be naive and bratty but that was understandable of a sixteen-year-old. My other favorite thing about this book was the appearance of the couples from the previous books making an appearance. It was good knowing that Brianna and Gavin, and Mindy and Ollie are all still doing well.

Dreams are important. Most of us settle for the 9 to 5 daily grind, but it takes a special kind of drive to shoot for the stars and chase your dream job. Roxy knows this all to well, as she tried her luck at a singing career but could never breakthrough, so she settled at an office job.

Jake Stone has just opened up Club Jasmine and when he spots Roxy across the room on opening night, he is instantly smitten. However things are relegated to the backburner when Roxy realizes that Jake is actually her new boss.

Sexual tension between these two is palpable, and when Jake sets up a karaoke night and Roxy gets up on stage, all those old feelings come back and she finally gets the chance she has always dreamed about to sing on stage again. This had me laughing at her banter with her best friend Hannah and I loved the cameo appearances from Gavin and Oliver. Another great read. I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

Well we got to the gang again, and I missed them. This was not my favorite, and I honestly thought it would have been funnier, but maybe it was me, and maybe my expectations were higher since I loved Mr. Fiance so much. In the last book I found Roxy to be so hilarious, but again maybe it was because she was trying to be more grown up, and trying a different job, whatever, it was cute, Jake sounded handsome, didn't really care for Nate, or Sophie. Did like Hannah, and was really happy that Mindy and Grandma, and Oliver showed up. Mindy saves the day.

Heartstopper by Lauren Landish a palpating five star read. This is a standalone romance with a HEA, but if you have read Anaconda and Mr Fiancé then you may recognise a couple of the characters and a certain red dress, that brings to my mind a grown-up version if the sisterhood of the travelling pants vibe. (I secretly pray I could borrow the mythical dress) This book will make you giggle and have your heart sinking as well as fluttering with god feeling.
Roxy Price has spent the last 10 months of her life being a grown up, working hard to get a promotion and saying goodbye to her dreams, she used to sing in a club on weekend nights, but after being told she wasn’t good enough she went back to school and got a real job, as she won’t mooch of no one. Roxy is her own woman, she knows what she wants and needs and plans to get it. After 10 long and lonely months, she needs someone to relive the tension and when a superhero steps in he seems perfect. Until Roxy meets her new boss on Monday morning and it’s the superhero in a suit Jake Stone.
Jake knows what he wants and he plans to do what he needs to get it, and he has no problems with professional boundaries and strictly business isn’t something he plans on sticking too, is Rosy strong enough to resist?

Ok I really wanted to like this book. I attempted many times to get thru it but I just couldn't. The first time reading, I put it down at 7%. Because I kept on cringing at the lines. I didn't like Roxy. At all.

1. Jake is drugged and she slaps him in the face and yells, WAKE UP BITCH. really????I

2. She can't understand why she can't get laid. Since now he's drugged. And she thinks to herself..is my p*$sy kryptonite or something?

3. I cringe when she performs. The way she describes herself dancing, she just sounds ridiculous.

I tried, days later to go further. I got 13%. I still don't really like Roxy. I do like Jake though, so I try to get into the story. Skipping the singing and dancing parts. I put it down again.

Days later I pick it up again and skip ahead a bit so maybe something catches my attention and I can get into it. I'm curious of Jake and his sister's. And I dig office relationships. I like that Roxy tries to help the sister. But Then Roxy's family comes one night..interrupting sexy time for Jake and Roxy. They seem kind of trailer trashy? I don't like how Roxy speaks, a little too obnoxious for me. So now I'm surrounded by a bunch of women from her life who basically all act the same? Nope. So I finally put myself out of my misery.

*in my own defense I am currently in a book funk. So maybe that's why I dnf? 😕

Lauren Landish was recently added to my MUST BUY and KEEP list. All of her book and collaborations with Willow Williams are superb. Heartstopper is no exception. Roxy just received a promotion at Franklin Consolidated and wants to celebrate with her BFF and roommate Hannah Fowler. There is a swanky new club in town and Hannah was able to get tickets. Thank goodness as the line to get into the club is very long. The outside is gorgeous, it has a huge well-lit parking lot, but the inside is really gorgeous in an understated-way. The owners Nathan and Jake Stone sunk a great deal of money into making this club something special. It is.

Jake spots Roxy the second that she walks in the door. To him she looks like an angel. He notices that a guy is pestering her at the bar and goes down from the VIP section to scare him off and use that as an excuse to talk to his angel. While there he drinks the beer she did not touch. The creep drugged her beer and knocked Jake out. At first Nathan wants to blame it on Roxy, but the security cameras clearly show the creep dropping something into her beer.

Jake turns out to be the new managing director of Franklin Consolidated which causes problems for Roxy and Jake.

There is a lot more going on in this delightful story and we get revisit with the people from Mr. Finance, Stud Muffin, and Anaconda as well as Roxy and Mindy's crazy family. Great book. Highly recommended. Of course a HEA

Another Great One

Although this one took a little longer to hook me, I really enjoyed Roxie and Jake! The sparks fly immediately between these two, and who would ever forget their unforgettable first meeting! The feelings these two go through are top and bottom of the barrel! Wow, to actually be able to go after your dream, even after previously giving up on it is truly breathtaking! The way Lauren Landish pulls all the charters back together is both funny and amazing! I love Roxie's spunk and Jake's level headedness!

Heart stopper

Loving this family, these have been standalone X, but they have connections to each other😊, Anaconda, Mr. Fiance, now this. Jake and Nathan have just opened a new club, with all the challenges, cost liability, ever growing worry of will it make it, keeping everything on the up and up, Jake meets Roxy by chance when she is unable to get away from an unwanted suitor. Join in on this story, great journey into learning about oneself, each other, compassion, doing for others, putting yourself out there, be ready to move on. Open your heart for Love❤️

Loved Roxy and Jake! Roxy was badly in need of a man, and when she and her friend hit Jake's club, they immediately sizzle. I love how Ms. Landish always writes an engagingly hot romance that knocks your socks off! Jake was so hot as the club owner with swagger. Roxy got what she needed and more with Jake. Loved this one as much as I've enjoyed Lauren's other books! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy.

This is another awesome book by Lauren Landish, one you don’t want to miss!
It is heartwarming and amusing with all that banter between the protagonists; it contains some drama, too, and of course some quite steamy hot scenes!

It made me laugh out loud a couple of times.
I loved especially the very special Mr. Felix and his hilarious reactions to Roxy’s singing and practising for her performances.
Aaaaand I loved Hannah’s dry and sarcastic humor!

This is a must read!

Roxy and Jake will set your heart. Roxy is a little firecracker and Jake, is a total sweetheart. This is so steamy and sexy. Jake is obsessed with Roxy and getting her to live her dream. Roxy has a smart motion her and just love her banter with everyone. You can see her just come alive on stage. The side characters are just as good in this story. You will fall in love with them all.

This was fun, and that ending left me howling with laughter. I enjoyed watching Roxy and Jake get to know one another, fall in love, and sort through their mountains of family dramas. I especially liked seeing Roxy’s music career get to be exactly what and how she wanted it to be, without pushy, obnoxious record execs dictating it. I’m also liking that Roxy reaching for her dream has prompted Hannah to do the same, and I can’t wait to see what the author has up her sleeve for the next book.

I loved that Lauren used a side character again for this book. I really enjoyed seeing the characters from previous books. The scenes where all the guys got together were priceless. The scenes Jake and Roxy found themselves in were hilarious. A great read full of passion, following your heart, learning along the way, and love. Can't wait for the next with these characters, maybe Hannah!

Roxy and her best friend Hannah hit the new nightclub that's recently opened. Jake (part owns new club with friend Nathan.

This book is funny, romantic and a very enjoyable read. Once I started I couldn't put it down. Absolutely brilliant

This whole series has been a joy to read! Can't wait to see if Hannah has a book (who is just as much a spitfire as Roxy)

This book didn't pull me in right away, it took a couple chapters. Once I got past the first few chapters I was hooked, I ended up loving this book. I loved Jake and Roxy together, but Roxy on her own is another story.. Overall I enjoyed it and I would recommend it.

Love this series!! Everybook is engaging and entertaining and keeps you laughing through and through.

Jake and Roxy had tons of chemistry but, after a night of chaos they realize why they can't be together after that night, Jakes her new boss. The tension between them keeps building until Jake feels he's about to explode.
