Commonwealth is a novel about two families that and takes place over the course of fifty years. The center of the novel is a traumatic event that affects each family member in different ways.
The story opens with a description of an upcoming party. The author describes a young couple- a police officer named Francis Keating (nicknamed “Fix’’) and his wife Beverly. They are about to throw a christening party for their infant daughter Franny. Everything seems to go well at the party except for the fact that a man named Bert decides to shows up. After he and Fix’s wife “accidentally’’ exchange kiss nothing will be the same.

Fast-paced, rich in narrative and with mild twists and turns when it comes to the plot, “Commonwealth’’ is a story in which the author describes several stories, all combined and into one whole. At some point of the story, theThe stories story of other each characters will intersects and mixes but the most important idea about thein the book is showing us how one unfortunate event influenced many people and how they deal with it in many different ways.

Dramatic, fun to read and with many twists and turns, “Commonwealth’’ could be reader’s next favorite novel, especially if a reader likes “real-life’’ novels.
