WOW! *fanning myself*
This was a quick and very hot read which should come with a warning like “Best to be enjoyed at home. Will most definitely drench your panties.”
To say it with the character's words “Now that is some hot yoga.” Indeed it was!!
If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be arousing. Wow. What a sexual explosion.
The Story:
Sloane Millbank is an independent woman and professional partner in a law firm who doesn't need anyone to tell her how to live her life or do her job. But when it comes to her sexual desires, she yearns to be dominated and for someone to push her past her limits. Mr. M is this someone to her. They have a contract which makes her his to do as he pleases within their agreed limits. Sloane is both excited and nervous about the things he wants to do to and with her but her journey of sexual exploration is better than anything she could have imagined.
Thoughts:
I was captured by the writing and loved how the characters were well attuned to each other. Both of them were strong characters and although Sloane submitted to Liam/Mr. M sexually, she always stayed true to herself. Giving up control felt empowering to her and it never made her weak which I really liked because in lots of stories, the submissive becomes weak when she's dominated and on her knees.
Mr. M was somewhat a mystery because the story was from Sloane's POV and he didn't tell anything about himself. So I didn't feel connected to him but I really liked his dominance except one part, but I guess that's just a question of taste and opinion.
Be aware of the fact that although there's not only sex in this book but a little background story on the characters and some emotions, it's definitely no sweet romance. This was an excellent erotic story which will have its reader's panties wet in no time at all.

I was originally given an advance copy of this book by the author and loved it so much that I purchased a copy to support a favorite author.
I am not going to lie - after I started the second chapter, I was honestly not sure if I would like this book. BUT about chapter 3 or 4, it sucked me in and I could not stop reading until I finished it. The story is told from Sloane's POV and was written in such a unique way (which is why I initially had trouble) that I couldn't wait to see what would happen next.
Sloane is smart, independent, goal-oriented, and a natural submissive - but has issues caused by her up-bringing. Mr. M is a reclusive, Dominant that takes one look at Sloane and has to have her. Their signed contract spells out everything and both hide behind it to protect themselves. Each chapter seems to be a different scene engineered by Mr. M for Sloane's pleasure and they run the gambit from age play to public displays to the modern equivalent to phone sex. Each chapter also gives just a touch more of their story - either a childhood memory that shaped the future or a work incident or even a night out. Throughout the book you can see how much Sloane enjoys her contract with Mr. M but also see her struggle with the limitations of the contract. Mr. M is mainly a mystery until the end of the story but constantly showed Sloane exactly what she meant to him without her even realizing that was what was happening.

I really enjoyed this story and think it is one of the author's best; however, I would have LOVED a small epilogue to let us know how these great characters fared (as just getting a HEA leaves me wondering about their futures, especially in this case - did they have kids? did she get to do the thing that she wanted to do -26.2? etc.).

Underwhelming
This is a 50 shades kind of reimagining with more mature characters who are aware of their sexual needs and they're eons better at communicating their sexual interests.
This couple, even though their relationship is contracted, shows another aspect of the wide range of BDSM relationships. It's a good novella (the actual story ends at 75%) but it leaves so much background information out and the characters seem to just be jumping from scene to scene without anything relating the moments that are slowly alternating the face of their relationship. All in all this one still needs a lot of work but the ideas are strong and the representation is stronger than in other novellas with kink.

This story began in the middle, which is unique for a romance. Not sure if this approach was intended to make the reader feel off balance with the lack of information about the story and characters or not, but it is an effective hook. In the manner of Bridget Jones' Diary we are drawn into this couple's story by being made a sort of voyeur on the opening scene while the main female character narrates over the action. This is the only time she speaks to the reader directly although the story continues from her perspective, with periodic use of flashbacks. Mr. M. is left as much of a mystery to us as Sloane seems to view him. We get to know him by his words and actions alone until nearly the end. Their reunion scene is a metaphor of sorts illustrating expectations for the future of what has turned into a relationship while they weren't looking. Enjoyable, sexy, and at times even sweet, thank you very much.
If there are more stories like this in her repertoire, I would certainly like to read them. Thank you for the mini vacation.

First let me start off by saying I received this as an ARC. This is an honest review of “His by Contract.” Sloane is a smart, beautiful lawyer. She has an interesting and complex relationship with Mr. M. Their contract is clear. He is a Dominant and wants a Submissive. Sloane knows she has it in her. They build up an elaborate contract. She is to obey him, even if he isn’t with her. They both have a past that has caused them to build walls around them. But things take a turn and they finally realize how much the need is for the other.
Let me say that Sloane and Mr. M aren’t just Dom/Sub but so much more. I don’t know how many of us would love to have this type of arrangement. There are so many fantasies that are expressed. I, personally, have not tried many but if I could, I’d have to say, YES PLEASE! To have a rich man want to dominate you and it’s not like he is very hard core. He knows what would look best on you and buys the clothes and lingerie that will make you feel sexy and special. To have a Mr. M like this, WOW. This is one heck of a book. You experience so many different views in one story. But it isn’t just about that but what it comes down to.

This novella took me 3 dang days to get through, I was so turned off to reading on the second day I couldn't even turn my Kindle on. I am a 'read every single day any spare minute I have' type of girl so for a book to bore and annoy me to the point that I read nothing for an entire day is really something. I did not like the main characters and I felt like this book just dragged and dragged despite it only being about 100 pages. Sloane was entitled despite saying she had to work for everything she had. I found myself wanting them to breakup at the end so Sloane could go make somebody else miserable and Liam could keep playing like one breakup in his youth was worth the "I've been hurt and now I can't trust any women" crap he didn't grow out of. How dumb that he tattooed a lock over his heart because, he got cheated on once by his childhood girlfriend hahahahahah! Overall, It was a struggle to get through and now I am going to go read something I have read before and loved to reset the reading slump that this novella has threatened to put me in! I really feel like 2 stars is generous but, I am writing this really negative review so I gave it an extra star for that.

This was my first read by Ava Sinclair but I will most definitely go back and read more when I have a chance. What happens when two people meet, randomly but find that they can each get exactly what they need from the other. Strings? Yes...a contract that outlines exactly what they want, what they can have and what they can expect. What happens when it suddenly starts to feel like more? When you want to learn more about the other person? When you have hidden so much of your true self from others for so long that you almost feel like there is no way out of the hole you dig yourself in? Is it possible to find a future in an arrangement set up to just meet exactly each of their needs. I found this to be a great read with enough steam to make me want to read more and enough intrigue to want to learn more about each of the main characters (as well as some other characters)

This was actually my first read by this author - and I'm so happy I won a copy during a release party!
The premise of the book intrigued me, as I enjoy reading about strong, powerful women who find relaxation & release by submitting thru D/s exchange. This book was well-written and the characters were presented in a way that the reader grew to know them and their back stories. The beginning of the book was slightly basic, for the genre, but after the first couple of chapters the dynamics of the character's relationship pulled me in. The way the author gives us insights into both character's thoughts, wants & needs is very well done. By the end of the book I was thoroughly engrossed in the dynamics of the couple, Mr M & Sloane, and wanting a HEA for them!
I would definitely recommend this for lovers of strong women who have a sexual submissive side!

The characters were done amazingly and the storyline was compelling and gripping. This author has clearly done their research as this genre of book has been portrayed perfectly. The chemistry between the two is extremley well done. And I loved the steamy scenes.
This book will leave you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. This book was extremely well written and has fast become of my favourite books. I will definitely want to one click future releases from this author. This book was full of different emotions with many twists and turns in the book that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end.

I started reading this book not sure if it was going to be something that I would enjoy. The first two chapters were hard to get through, but from chapter 3 the book was a winner for me!
Sloane is a career woman and also a natural submissive. She meets Mr M who becomes her Dom and introduces her to the world of submission and sexual awakening.
A great book and well written. I think fans of 50 shades of grey would really like this read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is the story of Sloane, a partner in a prestigious law firm and billionaire playboy Liam. They are master and slave in a contracted agreement for exclusive sex as she is a natural submissive and he is a powerful dominant. They met at a fund raiser and he could not take his eyes off her. Neither of them have had good relationships in the past, and she has a lot of family issues to get over. Interesting story on the relationship that is developing, that both are denying. Good read with solid characters and building of trust in their burgeoning relationship.

I have been a fan of the author for a while now and I have read all of her books faithfully, at first I thought this book was going down fast but by the 4th chapter, I was totally engaged.
Sloane is an amazing woman very engaging fun smart and a natural submissive where say Liam is the total opposite he is an Alpha male with a hard shell to crack. But somehow she is able to edge into his hard exterior to make a place for herself in his heart as well as his mind and body.
A great book with amazing characters and an engaging plot.

I loved this book! It was a short yet steamy read that you just can't help but beg for more. I love how strong-willed Sloane is. She's not the typical heroine. Yes, she may be a submissive but she doesn't take crap from people. A dom when it comes to business, a sub when it comes to bed. I also love how she keeps her personal life and professional life separate. She doesn't let her emotions get the best of her. And Mr. M is a gentleman. He's so sweet and tender. A perfect match. Truly worth five stars. Looking forward to reading more books from this author!

WOW His By Contract is the first book i have read by Ava Sinclair and was pleased and entertained by the characters and awesome story-line. I was able to finish it in one day I was so hooked and couldn't put it down. Sloane and Mr M burned up the pages on my kindle with there hot sex scenes also there was betrayal, forgiveness and love. If you are looking for a steamy hot sexy read then i recommend this one, You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to read more from this author. To say I simply enjoyed this book is a gross understatement. It's so well written. The characters are well developed and the storyline is thoughtfully put together. It starts off with a bang and just keeps going. I fell in love with Mr M. I can't believe how good this was. I have got to see if this author can write other books this outstanding. Yes, the sex is hot, but their is a story with depth that is so worth the read.

The story hooks you from start to finish. You are captivated by Mr. M and Sloan from the first sentence. You want them to be happy and are given a front seat view of them finding not only themselves, but each other. They have to learn and grow alone, and with each other, to reach what they are both not sure they want. You won't want to put this down.

She is an intelligent woman but needs a man to control her and inflict pain and punish her. Liam is just the man to do that. Two damaged people who need one another and this turns from need to love. Ava Sinclair's writing just gets better and better. A definite winner.

Well-plotted with nicely developed characters and a fabulous amount of steam. I liked how strong Sloane was and that she knew what she needed. Although there were times I was irritated with Mr. M. he was a great character. I volunteered to read and review this book.

His by Contract by Ava Sinclair is a very good book. Sloane and Mr. M's relationship should be simple and precise after all the have a contract. However, when love begins to grow complications arise. Two people that have strong emotional walls have to learn that what they have is much more than just a simple contract between two consenting adults. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

Let’s start, I give a 3.5. It started great. The first chapter was inviting and enjoyable. For me though, the book stood standstill as the chapters went on. Not saying it was a bad read, just felt safe in the storyline. Good sex scenes though. Will give book 2 a try as some follow up stories are better than the first. Please do make your own decision upon this book as we all have different views.

I loved this book! Ava Sinclair is becoming one of favorite authors! I sat down and read it in one sitting. Mr. M is one sexy dom who has entered into a contract with Sloane, a very strong woman, to be his submissive. An almost entirely sexual relationship that meets both their needs. As they explore Mr. M's fantasies and test Sloane's limits, their relationship slowly evolves into more.

They both have issues in regards to relationships and thier arrangement works for them.... until it seems Mr M wants more. But will he lose Sloane due to his inability to trust others? this is a great read and the characters are hot together.

Sloane and Liam are a power couple but are they a couple? They provide a need for each other but what happens when Love gets in the way? I throughly enjoyed this book and recommend this to anyone that enjoys the dark side. Ava is a new to me author but I will be reading more very soon.
