I didn't understand the point of this. Not a lot happens and it's really short. Basically, Kallie was screwed over by her ex and has no money now. She works at a dive bar in a bad part of town and lives in a shitty apartment that gets broken in to. Sasha works at the bar with her and starts supporting her. He lets her live in one of his houses and gives her money. That's about it lol. At least it was a quick read.

I was thankful that this was a short book. There really wasnt much to the book. Kellie's ex made her lose everything due to smuggling money from her business for a prostitution ring type thing. Then she gets robbed and "saved" by Sasha. After she started to feel for him she finds out that Sasha was actually Jeremy's boss?! I dont get how she could just forget all of this. This does not seem like a healthy relationship at all. Ugh Kellie is so stupid in my opinion, maybe has daddy issues.

Confusing mess

So the title says bad boy alpha dominate billionaire romance, but the bad boy is a Russian mobster running a prostitution ring, that caused the good girl to loss everything. Yeah he’s Alpha, and kind of dominate as well as rich but this story is screwed up. Not just the grammatical and punctuation issues but the story end at 75% without and understand at all. It’s a confusing mess.

Meh

The ending was anticlimactic. There was this great buildup on the main characters and then.... bloop it ends and it’s meh. You can read it but why?

If I could have given this zero stars I would. This was hot. freaking. garbage. The male character is no alpha. The girl gets screwed over and finds out her new lover used to work with the scumbag ex and she's all like...okay then.

No. Just..no.

Kallie owned a successful employment business with her fiancé and thought everything was going great. That is until the Feds came to the office and informed her that he had been switching her employees with prostitutes and running a brothel out of her business. Before the feds were able to get him he transferred all of her money from their shared accounts and disappeared. Luckily, she had some money in savings that he didn't have access to, but Kallie's name and business were ruined. Deciding the best course of action would be to start over she took what cash she had, got an apartment, and started working at the first bar she walked into on the bad side of town. Everything at Darkness seems to be going downhill quickly and her only saving grace is the tall, sexy Russian Sasha who might just make things worse instead of better.

This is a book that I have had sitting in my Kindle library for years. At the beginning of it I had high hopes. I retained those hopes as I progressed deeper into the book as I genuinely enjoyed parts of it. That being said Kallie is like a young girl who is just desperate. One second she is acting all big and bad, but she doesn't even have the guts to look into all the details about the man she is sleeping with. Not only that she jumped into bed with her boss the first chance she got. Flashing sign there, honey. No matter what was done to her or she found out all we got was the attraction was too powerful. Please.

Sasha is a cagey pain in the ass and I found that I hated him for most of the book. In fact, I was hoping that he wouldn't be much of a thing after-all or that something about him would be a redeeming quality. Nope. I dislike him as much at the end of this book as I did at the start. It started with the whole "I want you to be a kept woman." thing and just escalated from there.

The end of the book just annoyed the hell out of me and I will not be getting any more books in this series. At all. Yes, I have more Lexy Timms books, and have enjoyed some of hers in the past. So, I will not be stopping from all of her books, but this is one series I am done with after book one.

My favorite character in this book is Sal, although he bends over a little too easily to Sasha. He seemed like a nice enough male otherwise.

If you are looking for an action packed book that will leave you wondering just how deep the issues go then look no further.

I really wish I could do 3.5 stars

So I liked the story enough. Not enough to really want to know what happens next but enough to finish reading without it being painful.

I do like Sasha although he is very high handed with Kallie. Trying to make decisions for her instead of giving her a choice. And all because he felt guilty. Yeah to be high handed because well that’s the way you are can be okay but doing it out of guilt, in Kallie’s case, was just plain too much.

I also liked Kallie. She scolded herself on being overly vulnerable to a man she didn’t know. Trusting him and developing feelings for him in the span of a few days. And I can appreciate her realizing how ridiculous that is. On top of that Sasha is the reason her business was ruined. She goes back and forth, which can be frustrating at times to read, but it’s also understandable. She is having an internal war between her brain and heart. Trying to determine which way she wants to go.

Now one thing I absolutely did not like was that ending. It feels like the other forced the ending to have other books. And so there was no conclusion. I don’t mind cliffhangers but they need to flow that way. Not just abruptly end.

Great start to this steamy series!

This is my first by by Lexy and I'm hooked! I can't wait to read the next book. Sacha and Kellie had amazing chemistry and their Insta-love was definitely intense and hot. I just got introduced to these characters and want to know more. Kellie is smart and strong wanting to start her life over. Sacha is very dominant, possessive and protective. Together they push eachother and at the same time can't stay away from each other.
About Love is the 1st book in this series and the next book must be read to see how their story continues. Very well written and easy to follow story. The narrators also did an amazing job. Even if it was only in Kellie's POV, the audio had a male narrator for Sacha's dialogue which I loved! Can't wait to see what these characters are up to next, and see what other work Lexi comes up with.

This book had the potential to be a really good story but sadly for me it was just to predictable. I need there to be more sexual tension between the lead characters, I like the chase, the game of cat and mouse that builds the tension, but Kallie just annoyed the heck out of me. She is too needy whilst trying very hard to pretend she isn't and is in control. Sasha is perfect though, he knows who is and gets what he wants and he wants Kallie. I found i skipped a lot of pages because Kallie was just too annoying. If only Kallie had left Sasha the first time she decided to and made a stand and then Sasha could have hunted her down, that would have been exciting but Kallie ruined it by acting like the jealous girlfriend who just ends up stalking him. I know Lexy Timms writes brilliant books, but unfortunately this one just didn't do it for me.

2.5 ⭐
It was an okay read, the storyline was interesting and the plot twist was good but I have to say that the ending was a disappointment, there wasn't much of a wrap and the story just ended abruptly (which it's what lowered my rating). I feel like this was more of a book for people who want to read about the smut but, since I personally don't really care for that, my rating doesn't reflect my opinion on the steamy scenes.

*EDIT*
I just went and looked up the next book here on GR and found out the story ending this way would likely make sense if you read the rest of the books, since they're are about the same couple. Not a wise move honestly because even though the ending was cut short, there's no cliffhanger or something that would make me want to read the rest of the series.

This is the first in series about Kallie and Sasha. Kallie owned a head hunting company that placed employees with various companies and people with her fiance, who secretly fired the employees and replaced them with prostitutes. Jeremy ran off and took all her money and destroying her reputation. She hides in a roach infested apartment and gets a job as a waitress at a Russian bar. Trouble comes the first night when the bar is shot up as she bends down to pick up a glass she drops. Sasha is a sexy Russian that makes her tingle all over with just a look. He starts taking over her life and gives her the best she has ever had, but he is hiding something that can ruin everything.

Kallie has lost everything. She decides to start over anonymously in the wrong part of town. In a dark bar that’s called Darkness as a cocktail waitress. Her first day is shocking and she wants to quit. Though she is broke and needs the money she stays. That begins the connection with Sasha. Her knight in shining armor. Or so she thinks. As they stored progress she starts thinking that’s sasha could be the reason why she is where she is at. She falls for him so quickly that now she questions everything about their relationship. So what happens next? I can’t wait for the next book.

Sacha and Kellie have an amazing chemistry which is very intense and hot from the start, Kellie is a smart and strong woman needing to start her life over again after being betrayed by her fiancé and losing her business at the same time. Sacha is dominant, possessive and totally protective but isn't the easiest to understand. There is a push pull between them constantly but they can't stay away from each other either. About Love is the 1st book in this series and I can't wait to read the next book to see what happens between them.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this storyline of Lexy's. The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that info here. The author did a good job with the storyline to keep you reading. I enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.

Out...

Out of the frying pan and into the fire fits the description of Kallie Margolis' life right now. She lost everything to her "fiance," Jeremy, who was into much more than a vanilla employment agency.
Sasha was a hot Russian...but was he even worse than Jeremy?
Great beginning to the series!

Good Read!!!!

Kellie has been screwed over by her boyfriend. She has lost everything & that's what leads her to a bar on the dark side. She gets a job but is noticed by the boss. He helps her out when she has trouble at her apartment. He moves her into his townhouse. They are attracted to each other but it's a love hate relationship. A great read. Thanks.

Decent story, poor character

While I enjoyed the underlying story, and really felt it could have developed into an amazing story, I felt the main character was....childish. The way she reacted to people and things that didn't go her way felt like what a rebellious teenager would do. Unfortunately, a decent story isn't enough to make me come back for the second book.

I like some of Lexy Timms books, but this one is really my cup of tea. Don’t care much for books that involve people in the crime world. Although she doesn’t outright say Sasha is involved in crime, its insinuated. Especially when his bar gets shot up in the first chapter and he brushes it off as if nothing happened. Also, the book was also only about 100pages. Which was a disappointment.

Good intentions on plot, characters and romance. the synopsis really pulled me in and at the beginning of the novel, you can't turn your eyes away. however, as the story leads you on I started to skim my way through … mainly through the sex, mainly through the poor-pity me from the heroine's POV.
I feel like this story has potential but it didn't hit my mafia mark, unfortunately.

Loved the hole thing, it just didn't have an ending. Well not the ending I was looking for, it's another book with a cliff hanger ending. I just don't see them make peace with all the things Sasha did to her, unintentionally as it may be, it still happened. Really wanna see what dumb excuse she will give herself for forgiving his behavior.

Really enjoyable read

I really liked this book. It has romance but also a lot of twists. The relationship between Sasha and Kallie is great but also very complicated so it was all hearts and roses. The only thing that kinda annoys me that it ended so soon

Too short

Hot or cold which is it, that’s the way Kallie and Sasha’s relationship is. Kallie lost everything and then to find out that her so call Knight is black armor may be the cause. What is a girl suppose to do?
