What was I thinking? How often have we repeated that question to ourselves after doing something we looked back on with regret? We intuitively know that our thoughts affect our actions. But what we don’t always recognize is how our thoughts affect our actions. Our thoughts are so powerful that much of the spiritual warfare that takes place in our lives happens in our minds. This is why Paul in 2 Corinthians 10 instructed the Corinthian believers to reject thoughts that are not true according to Scripture and to use the Word of God as a weapon to pull down strongholds. In these pages, learn to recognize thinking patterns that undermine your ability to live a victorious Christian life, and discover how to retrain your thoughts with the powerful weapon of God’s Word.
Great book for helping someone reset their thinking in a biblical way. There wasn't anything specific that struck me as terribly profound, but the chapters on specific issues (being unteachable, unforgiving, unhappy, unbelieving, unholy) were very practical. I'll keep it around for future reference for sure.
This book was huge in helping me to evaluate my thinking and if I have allows stronghold to develop in my mind. I highly encourage all Christians to read this book and make sure their thinking aligns with Scripture.
So many wonderful and helpful truths in this book. I look forward to sharing this book with the potatoes in my church. It is a book a that I want to read again and again!
This book is helpful and filled with passages from God's Word. I've already placed many tabs in the book to mark important texts, which is something I have never done before.
The author makes the statement, "One stronghold of the mind is believing the negative opinion of one's self is not truth." I'm sorry, but if we can't accept the negative attributes within ourselves than we can not accept or be sure of the positive opinions we have about ourselves. It would be as though we are denying who we really are. Behind most positive thinking there once was a negative thought. It is those negative thoughts that drive me to become a better woman. I will not be rewiring my brain according to this ideological viewpoint.

A thought provoking read that places the responsibility for change squarely in the hands of the individual who is struggling. While this reader picked up the book for assistance with one pattern of wrong thinking, it shed light on other areas that are equally in need of change. This is not a soft read. If you're looking for a book to make you feel better about yourself...this isn't the one to pick up. But if you're truly seeking help, and you're willing to accept that your own behavior is at the root of your difficulties... you may be ready for what R.B.Ouellette has to say.
