I know a lot of reviewers are telling you that this story can be read as a standalone, but no, it really just can't. It's your choice, but this series should be read in order :)

First let me say that the slow burn between Mel and Dog was perfect for this story-line. Anything else would have just been ridiculous. You see, Mel has been in hiding for a year. She gets to come home now but there's an adjustment for her. It's all new to her so pilling on an insta-relationship to that would have been ridic. So MAD PROPS to Max Henry for knowing not to do that. Dog himself is dealing with life/family issues that are pulling on him as well. Slow burn was the perfect way to build their romance. They have chemistry from the very start, and it's explosive, but their journey is still a slow burn. Mel had a lot of adjusting and growing to do after being away for so long and the story represented that well. Dog's issues with his family and his past were also well woven into the story and developed thoroughly.

I've loved this series from the start and continue to do so now. I can't wait for more from one of my favorite motorcycle clubs, Fallen Aces!

Holy Hell!! This book is just bloody amazing and I really didn't think Max would ever be able to come close to my book of 2016 Tormented but Misguided is up there with that one for sure. The raw emotion  that I got from this book had me really shook up and I couldn't write this review for a time as to put into word how I feel is bloody hard.

The characters Dog and Mel are a match made in heaven, they both know it but are both to scared to say just how they feel. Both feeling beaten by the losess they have both experienced and although they are both hiding things they are there for each other. Dog eventually shows his true self and the real man that has stolen my heart. And Mel's too.

Koen, not the clown, the fool or the Dog he portrays to the world but the man that cares and feels and loves with his all. Mel is kick arse in this book and as the ex presidents daughter she suffers no fools and she doesn't suffer Dog at all but she bends and bowes for Koen.

This book isn't a pretty book, it isn't even lovey dovey, it's raw, hate filled and just heartbreaking, is probably the best way to describe it. I can honestly say that this book and series are some of the best MC books I have read. It's not all about club life, it's about finding ones self in the mayhem of their life and in the arms of a loving strong family that they all chose to be a part of.

A huge recommend from me. A page turner that delivers surprise after surprise, time and time again. Max Henry, I can honestly say is one my top 5 authors. What a great wordsmith she really is.

What a great installment to this series!! If you haven't read this series before you could read this one as standalone but I think you may enjoy it better if you read the others but I like to do it that way anyway. This book was about two people who have been hiding but in two different ways.

Mel has been in hiding in the deep woods from everyone for the past 14 months and now its time for her to come back into the world. Unfortunately her world isn't what it was when she left. She has now lost 2 very important people to her and acclimating back into life isn't easy. Only one person makes her feel safe and comfortable and unlucky for her he has earned his name Dog for his way with the ladies.

Dog has been hiding his real self from everyone. He puts up a front of the joker, the man with the way with the ladies. No one in the MC knows his true identity or the family he is from. He can be himself with only one person and he knows he'd never be good enough for Mel but he wants to show her he can be what she needs. He has his work cut out for him for sure.

This book was so good. I loved the build up throughout the book of the relationship between Mel and Dog. She wasn't just going to cave and fall for his ways. The way they both felt sage with one another to share parts of themselves. It was just a really great book and I can't wait for the next Max Henry book!!

Mel has been in hiding, but it's now safe for her to return. She's missed her MC family but it will not be the same as it was. Her losses cuts deep but she must carry on.
Dog has problems with his blood family. His father is ill and Dog is being used, pulled back and forth between the company and the MC by his brother, but he has only time for his Fallen Ace MC life and turns the other way from his family.
He's happy that Mel has returned. It's great to see her, she looks as hot as ever, and he wants her, badly, but she isn't interested, she's put him in dreaded "friends" zone. Which sucks! And now they're dancing on the edge of may be or may be not. And she's teasing him crazy.
Great plot and addition to the Fallen Aces MC series. Love the characters and story and nice to see King again. A very enjoyable story. I highly recommend it!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This is the 5th book in the series it can be read as a stand-a-lone but highly suggest you download the previous 4 and catch up. I enjoyed the chemistry between Mel and Dog. My heart went out to Mel watching her struggle with her place and where she fit in then to see the other side to Dog than just the cocky playboy had me in aww.

How does a woman who has been on her own in the deep woods get back to the life she once knew over a year later? Mel is trying to wrap her brain around the loss of her Daddy and sister while the only family she has left, her brother, is missing. She is struggling to be in a place that brings back so many memories and also trying to figure out who she is these days. Mel is no longer the woman she use to be and she feels she no longer has a place with the Club. But what she does know is she is she feels something when around Dog but Dog is Dog and how can she trust her heart to a man that has repeatedly shown that he is a love’em and leave’em time. Mel knows she deserves more that than and Dog has to show her that he does not think of her the same way he does the others. Dog has to show her she is someone special.

The side that Mel brings out in Dog is incredible. He shows her a side that no one has ever seen or knows. He is amazingly patient with her and when he thinks she is in trouble he comes running. It amazes me how well he knows Mel, he knows she is strong and helps her figure out who the real Mel is and what she means to the Club.

I loved the slow building relationship between Mel and Dog and how Dog opens up to her. My favorite scenes are the one where we see a different side of Dog and the shopping/hunting scene. I have to say I am excited to see what Max Henry has instore for us next.

A few of my favorites:

“I wouldn’t have picked that. Didn’t they call you something else before you got your road name?” “Shithead. Grunt. Pisshole. Kid.” I smirk. “Take your pick. Nobody actually knew my name.”

“I don’t know how to do this,” he calls through the darkness, his voice hoarse. “I don’t know how to be serious with someone. But you make me want to learn, Mel. You’d be worth giving this up for.”

“Don’t be angry at me, babe.” He staggers right, jamming a boot out awkwardly to regain his balance. “I’m a jerk when I’m him.” He points to the cut, groaning as he sinks to his knees. “He’s an idiot,” he says, slurring his words a little. “A fuckin’ idiot. But this guy,” he pounds his chest twice with closed fists, “he only wanted to see you smile.” His words die off, his voice weakening as he sags on his knees, his head almost touching the ground. “He loves your smile,” Dog whispers. No, scratch that. Koen whispers.

“You listen up good, Mel, ‘cause I’m only gonna say this once.” Dog runs a finger along my jaw, a thumb over my lips. “You never owe a man anythin’, got it? If you don’t want to do it—don’t. And if a man ever makes you feel bad for that” —he shakes his head and sighs—“well he ain’t much of a man, then, is he?”

A year in solitude has done nothing to dampen this woman’s spirit. She might have been unsure and out of sorts when she first got back, but as the weeks have gone by she’s simply gone from strength to strength. She’s every bit the born leader she professes not to be. A warrior’s heart packed into one spitfire of a package. Perfection.

I enjoyed Misguided so much even though this can be read as a standalone I highly suggest that you read Existential before this one . Right from the first page I was really drawn to the story and characters I wanted to know more about them to see what they were going through and how their growing attraction is going . Mel and Dog have had different childhoods but in a way had to pretend to be someone that they are not and are unhappy being they'v also are going through loss of the ones they truly loved . Dog shows what he feels for the heroine right off the bat but Mel is a little hesitant knowing the heroes reputation in the club but she does feel something for him . Mel has no idea whats going on what has accorded in the time she has been away so when she reapers Mels dealt with a lot of blows and the only one she feels safe and grounded is with the hero .The only people Dog considers his family is his deceased mother and his brothers in the MC he has a lot going on and once he gets to see Mel again it's like she heals some thing in him . They have great off the charts chemistry and when they let everything go it becomes even more intense . Can't wait to see whats to come for Max Henry just amazing you don't want to miss one clicking this fantastic read .

Mel has spent the last year of her life, in hiding, away from her family, and everything that she loved. When it was safe for her to return, she was a different girl. And although she's back at home, she feels completely lost, so she struggles to find her purpose in the MC. Dog comes from an mentally abusive/well to do family, so he already carries some serious baggage, in which he's not willing to share with anyone. But he's so happy when he learns that Mel is alive, and he's been sent to pick her up, as he has always wanted her, but since he couldn't stay away from the ladies for any length of time, she friend zoned him a long time ago. However, this time, he is going to prove to her that he's the right man for her. Mel is still very wary, as she is sure that he will break her heart, and yet, she's still playing with the notion of offering what little of herself she has left. Will he take care of her heart? Max Henry with all of her brilliant writing style, has done it again with Misguided. This story was filled with even more angst than her usual works, and I could physically feel Mel's pain and depression that seeped through my kindle. And Dog, well the pain his family unleashes on him with their insults made me want to hit things while my eyes leaked. However, that didn't stop me from wanting to choke him out a time or two with his bone headed decisions. Together, their sparks lit up the sky, which inevitably led to some FIERY HOT sexy time that will destroy panties everywhere. I CANNOT NOR WILL EVER get enough of this amazing author, so while I wait impatiently for her next masterpiece, I'll just HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND this EPIC PIECE OF GOODNESS TO ALL!

This book..... I don't think I have the right words for this book. I actually missed the book before this one so it feels like I haven't read these characters in a while. So it kind of felt like coming home to me to be able to read these characters again. I will say this though this book is a bit different than Mrs. Henry's other books in this series. This one is much lighter, and what I mean is there's not a bunch of action/killing/gore. Which isn't a bad thing it was nice to see a lighter side.

Man Koen, or aka Dog. He's a man who is trying to forget his past. He's trying so hard to be someone he's not. There really two different side's to him, Koen the smart, caring, kind man. And Dog, the man he wants everyone to think he is. I liked seeing both sides of him and I actually liked both sides.

I really liked Mel, she's the daughter of the fallen Fort Worth president and sister of Dana (who has also been lost). She a women who's been in hiding for the past year only to come out and find that her whole life has changed. I really felt for Mel and everything she was going through. She's just trying to figure out where she fits into the life now and isn't having much luck with it.

I really enjoyed this book and I thought that Mel and Dog were perfect for each other. I really liked that they weren't strangers to each other and already had a friendship of sorts. Even though this book is lighter than other's in this series, I still enjoyed it. I liked seeing familiar old faces in this book and seeing softer sides to them. And even though this book is a bit different from the others there's no lack of drama.

I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5 and can't wait for the next one!!!!

*****5 Misguided Stars*****
This series is something else so raw, so many emotions in each book; each story is so good and different but still keeps all the characters in series in each book. Mel is a ghost to her family Fallen Aces MC for 2 years now, they believe she was caught in the war cross fires. But her brother Hooch president of the Fallen Aces MC Fort Worth chapter knows different he had to keep her safe from the clubs enemies. Dog (Koen) is known amongst his club chapter as clown and man whore but he far from that; 2 years ago he lost his friend Mel while he was prospecting for the Fallen Aces MC. Fast forward unfortunate invites brings Mel out of hiding. This book is what happened when Mel and Dog stop being afraid to give into what they feel. Dog’s hides who he really is very good from everyone else but Mel see’s right though him: his past and current family situation is not perfect and never will be. Mel has no idea what’s been going on since she was hiding and in learning the things she missed she doesn’t know what to do or how to feel. This is what happens when 2 lost broken souls try to heal one another. I’m leaving so much out just READ!

Mel has been in hiding for a year thanks to her crazy ex Carlos who put a hit out on her head. Dog a.k.a Koen comes from money but, he wants nothing to do with it. He resents his father and brother because of how they are and how they misuse their power instead of using it to do the right thing for all parties involved. Dog has always had feelings for Mel but, she thinks that she is too good for him being a biker princess and all that. Hooch has gone AWOL the club has had no contact with him in over a week so they decided it's time to have their Pres. back. in comes Dog and Mel to the rescue to find Hooch and bring him back home. Dog and Mel start to get closer and maybe even give themselves a second chance. Dog finally takes Mel hunting and thing heat up turns out Mel is a good shot. Dog's family problem comes back to him in the behind in full force. thought it was bad but, jeez his family is a piece of work. It has been awhile that I have read a MC Romance book this was a delight to read now I have to play catch up and read the rest of the series.

What a Ride !!!
Misguided by Max Henry is the fifth book in the Fallen Aces MC Series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend to read the books in order. These are:
Unrequited, King and Elena´s book
Unbreakable, King and Elena´s story ´s conclusion
Tormented, Sawyer and Abbey
Existential, Hooch and Dagne
and now Misguided, Mel and Dog´s story.
Mel was in hiding for more tha one year, after the threat against her life is neutralized, she´s able to come back to her family. Only that her family is no longer what it was. She has losses to bear and has to learn how to deal with it.
Dog is only a pawn for his blood family. He breaks up with them and lives and breathes the Fallen Aces MC life.
And now Mel is back. Dog is angry, he´s hurt, he´s happy that she´s back and most of all, he wants her, bad. They dance around each other and their issues.
I really , really loved this next installment. I love the words and I love the writing. I love the story and the characters. I recommend this series and give 5 stars. Thank you Max Henry !

Although the Fallen Aces MC chapters are featured through out the book, it didn't have a hugely MC feel to it. I think a lot of this was because Dog, the hero, hadn't grown up in the lifestyle. That said I still enjoyed this book, it is very well written with an interesting plot.

The book was mainly about Mel coming to terms with bereavement and Dog/Koen trying to convince Mel that he was worth taking a chance on. I really liked the 'slow' build up of their relationship, although I didn't quite feel the passion of it. Don't get me wrong their were some very tender scenes and when we did eventually get them the sex scenes were very hot, I just didn't feel their love.

I did like both main characters, they were well written and believable. The story flowed well, it was easy to read and I really liked the author's writing style. Although the book didn't blow me away, it did keep me reading, and I never once felt bored or uninterested in it.

I would definitely read more work by Max Henry.

Didnt excite me as much.

I liked the other books in this series, but this one was boring. There was chemistry with the H/h and love but also alot of questions. Her previous relationship with Sawyer yet he loved the sister. And she never ran into him during the month there and the back and forth. That would have made a great section of the story. Talking about her sister death since Sawyer was there. I think Ms Henry missed a great chance at a minor emotional plot in this story. Unless it will be in the future story but it should have been here. I do love her writing style and the love angst. And I do like sexy scenes but I love that her stories aren't just about the sex. The part where Dog was piss drunk was a great scene except the talking in each other's face where she could feel the heat of his breath, I am sure she could smell the overnight puke. I almost wretched. I will read more and may even pick up butter boys since I do feel some things are missing. -Dink.

Dog

***ARC provided in exchange for an honest review***

This is a raw, gritty and wonderful addition to the Fallen Aces MC and I have loved each and every book in this phenomenal series and can't wait for more. Koen (Dog) as everyone calls him shows people the person he want to be portrayed as but not the one who he is deep inside. The only person who even got a glimpse of the real him is Mel who was and is his friend who he thought was dead. Mel was put into hiding by her father but some things goes down and she thrusted back into to the world that she has always grown up in. Too bad things are different and sometimes that leaves her wondering which way to go after be on her own for so long. Enter Koen the friend who always wanted more but know for that to happen she needs him to be the real him. This page turner will grip your heart with intensity and leaving you breathless. I so can't wait for more.

Once again Max Henry has woven her magic with words and created another fabulous story!

Dog aka Koen, is pleasantly surprised to find his friend Mel is still alive. This is their story.

When Max Henry creates her characters she describes them so expertly than you almost feel like you can reach out and touch them, they are that three dimensional. Dog's father I could have cheerfully slapped and his brother too for that matter! Whereas I'd really like to get to know the other characters for real.

This story has a full kaleidoscope of emotions including fear, anger, excitement, joy and humour. For example this quote from the story...
I glare at the tall motherf**ker. “Seedier than the used end of a condom, but hey, it’s to be expected.”
I love the analogies used by this author as well as her timing and pacing of the events, all perfectly executed to entertain readers.

I'm already looking forward to her next book!

Again I am blown away by Max's ability to capture so much raw emotion in a story. This book had me on the edge of my seat waiting to see where she was going to take the characters next. Dog the charismatic playboy of the MC and Mel the feisty, take no prisoners Presidents sister take what they need from each other to heal the pain they've both suffered. Great tragic losses help to shape them into the people they are... and in each other they find the strength and courage to fight for their love! It's not your typical MC book, as in the MC is prominent but they are not the main story line. This is a tough, heart wrenching sweet story of two people finding their place in life and with each other. This is one of my all time favourite MC series.. I can't wait to see what Max comes up with next. A kick arse author who is an automatic one-click for me!!

The time is now safe for Mel to return home however the Mel that comes back is no longer the same woman. Dog is known as the ladies man, the joker of the MC who doesn't take anything seriously but they've always been drawn to each other.
Dog's past has always been shrouded in mystery his MC brothers know nothing about his life before he joined them. Mel has faced unimaginable sorrow on her return and things will never be the same again,
I liked the push and pull between them the sexual tension leaps off the page. Can Dog prove to Mel that he's not the man she thinks she is and can Mel overcome the insecurities that her enforced isolation has brought out in her.
The story had a great plot and the slow build of their relationship was realistic. We see a side of Dog that only Mel brings out of him. Overall a fantastic addition to this series.

Misguided is a great book. It covers love, lust, finding yourself and finding you other half. Both Mel and Dog go through this journey and it was powerfully written. I was drawn into their story by both of them, this is not a case of liking the h more than H. You want to see them both come into their own and do it together. The excitement of an MC book is there as well but it doesn't take over the plot. We get to see parts of the story of Hooch and Dagne from another perspective which is one of my favorite things. There is so much happening in this story that you will not want to put it down. I read it in one sitting. Definitely recommend you meet the Fallen Aces and read everything Max Henry writes!

This is the 5th book in this amazing series, and can be read as a standalone. Mel has been in hiding for a year, and when the threat is eliminated, it is safe to be brought home. But home no longer feels the same as she is forced to come to terms with bereavement. Dog, who turned his back on his own family, lives for the family he has now, which is the MC, and he is very happy that Mel is back. These two are great together, and Dog is determined to convince Mel to take a chance on him.
This is a well written storyline, which had me hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. I adore this series, and in my opinion, is a must read for all MC lovers. Awesome job Max!!

Dog missed Mel during her year of isolation. They were friends before that, but he wanted to bang her then and still wants to bang wants to bang her now. Even so, he still thinks she's hoity-toity and refers to her as a bitch in his own mind.

Meanwhile, Mel, returning from her year in isolation learns that she's lost not only her place in life, but also her family. She's lost and not looking to be a hook-up for manwhore Dog.

Honestly, at this point I don't even buy them as friends.

I've read other books in this series as liked them well enough. I just don't GAF about these two MCs.

Really enjoyable MC read. If you've read other books in this series you will have met Dog and here we get to know the man behind the mask. Dog and Mel have been friends for many years but after the death of her father and sister, not to mention a year on her own hiding out off grid. Parts of this book crossover with Existential, Hooch's book.
As always the plot is interesting and well paced, while the characters develop throughout the story as their lives and personalities are revealed. I think I need to read The Butcher Brothers series to get the full story on some events in this series.

I really enjoyed reading Misguided by Max Henry. This book pulls you in with the first page and keeps you engaged until you get to the very end. I love book about brothers in the MC. Dog doesn’t hesitate to show Mel what he feels but Mel is very hurt because of the things that happened to her family while she was in hiding. It was so endearing to listen to this strong Alpha male talk about his feelings for his mom. Dog and Mel have hot chemistry and I love how he stops and puts his forehead to Mel’s and tells her “he is making memories”. Love this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book along with the whole fallen aces series, although not as MC heavy as the others in the series I was pulled into the storyline from the first few pages! Very well written and totally worth the read however I do recommend you read the series before hand as so much happens leading up to Misguided, trust me it will be worth having the big picture going into it, although you can get away with reading it as a standalone. Enjoy!!!

I have fallen in love with all the boys of the Fallen Aces MC and the MC world they live in. Hooch will always be on of my favorites...but Dog is right up there with him. I love this MC and how they are with each other. There are so many MC books out there to choose from, but Max and her Fallen Aces are one of a kind. This series is fantastic! Mel blew me away. To go through so much and come out the other side the way she did, amazing. Great read! Brilliant writing and story.

Max Henry delivers yet again another five star read & a great addition to the Fallen Aces MC series. You can't help getting invested in Dog & Mel's journey & cheering them on as they help each other overcome their pasts and find the strength & courage to fight for their love. Can't wait to see what comes next. I highly recommend Misguided as well as the stories of the other members of the Fallen Aces MC family!

I received an ARC for my honest review of this book

Enjoyed this one a lot. It's bad enough that Mel was stuck in the woods for a year by herself but to come home and find out what happened to her family is beyond devastating. I understand her feeling of displacement and purpose. Dog (Koen) was awesome! Just goes to show you that having money doesn't make a scrap of difference, his family is even more disfunctional then the rest of them put together. Looking forward to the next one as there's so much more to happen.

Misguided is one of the most beautiful MC Romance books I've read. When I met Mel in Existential (Book 4 of the Fallen Aces) I was curious about her story, never thought that Dog had such a sad story to tell.

Misguided is a beautiful love story, even if MC Romance is not your thing, this is a love story you have to read.

Well done Max Henry!

Another great story in this series! I loved the chemistry between Mel and dog (Koen) as they found each other again and worked out their direction in life together after both faced many challenges. It's always great to recognize the other characters in the story that have been in other stories an also get a glimpse into how things are with them also. Story could also be read as stand alone.

Misguided by Max Henry is the fifth book in the Fallen Aces MC Series. This book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend to read the books in order.
Unrequited, Unbreakable, Tormented, Existential, Misguided.
Max Henry is a truly gifted author, I have still yet to read a book by her that does not grab me from page one. Well done Max on another awesome story.
