Still love the series but this book wasn’t my favorite. I think it’s because I’ve never connected with Faelen or Mary.

Mary being my least favorite character of the whole series

Todd finally has closure

We watch as Todd goes thru so much on this book. We see him grow in so many ways and he finally gets his closure. We see that they are all coming together to try and save Durov.

Todd Wallace AKA Faelan got his turn! What drove Faelan to be the big bad Wolf to Brie? Why did he connect with and put up with Mary and her mess? It is all revealed here. I liked Todd from the moment he was introduced in the beginning of the Brie series. His scene with her with the dubstep caught my imagination. It was second only to Rystar acting out Brie's fantasy after the auction.

Faelan and Mary have been making more progress than I thought was possible. And then there was a truly intimate and romantic scene. And it was followed by a shocking scene. A mystery from Mary's past is revealed with a surprising twist. Mind blown! So much to process. What I thought would happen didn't. What did happen took the story in another direction.

When Rystar greeted Faelan at Marquis Gray's home, I laughed out loud. And then everything got serious. The focus shifted back to where Her Russian Knight ended and picked up from there. Sir and Brie are in a painful bind because of what happened to Rystar in front of them. Sir hates his helplessness, and Brie is falling apart. Faelan is determined to help them as much as they have helped him.

This series has had its twists and turns, but this story has more than its fair share. Thane (Sir) is still recovering and feels helpless. Brie is torn apart with fear. And as Todd hopes to make amends for what he did to Trevor so many years ago, he is willing to help and risk it all. But when others rally around to help Rystar, I get choked up.

Then there was the mystery female that was checking out Todd at the Haven. She was described as older than him, "a few years older", and it turns out to be about two years. That was a bit of a disappointment. I was hoping that she'd be 5 - 10 years older. Then there was the fantasy that left me hoping for more, and the reveal that was kind of meh. But her connection to his past led to a chance for him to heal unexpectedly. I liked how that turned out as well as what was revealed in the last chapter. Jaw drop.

This was well-written, absorbing, and had some unexpected twists. There was also some depth to the characters and their relationships that made this more than just bdsm and a suspense. There was insight, wisdom, and healing. Outside of one relationship that I thought was built up well but disappointed me in the delivery of a less than satisfying relationship, in my opinion, I enjoyed this story.

Note: I had received an advance reader copy, and this is my honest review. I have purchased most of the books in this series in the original serial format, the novel format, and some in this new version. I will definitely be reading Her Russian Returns. Rystar is still my fave!

I have read every word that Red Phoenix has written and am heartbroken to give this book less than 5 stars. I almost gave it 3 stars because it was excruciating getting through Faelan and Mary in the first part of this book but then comes Tono, Marquis and the rest of the gang to save the day!!!! Faelan with Mary is the weakest, wimpiest "dom" I can imagine. She continuously tops from below and he doesn't handle her bratiness except for one time and it seems out of place and awkward. Mary is my least favorite character in the series, I still don't know how she got into the Submissive Training Center or how she graduated. She is a brat all of the time and a switch who tops every chance she gets. Mary needs a firm but loving hand and Faelan just didn't deliver. She actually needs the type of dominant Sir was with Brie when they first got together.

But, Mary leaves and Faelan returns to his friends from the Training Center and The Haven showing that the charismatic, imaginative, clever master is still alive and well. He has a couple of scenes at The Haven that are pure Red Phoenix gold. Once the entire Training Center "scooby gang's" story has been told I would love to visit The Haven as a series similar to KD Robichaux's Club Alias.

But I digress. I couldn't stop reading as the intrigue around Lilly and Rytsar unfolded bringing all of the Training Center family straight to Sir's hospital room and it was a delicious treat to visit with everyone. I am so pleased to see Sir recovering and growing a bit stronger each day as Brie's baby bump grows too. There is a classic Marquis scene with his magical flogger and I look forward to exploring his story with Celestia. Marquis has layers to his personality that I never saw coming but I love. As with the last few books there is a cliff-hanger, this time around Rytsar and his precarious future. I am counting the days to the next book.

Todd Wallace has intrigued me from the first time he ran up to the house that Brie was in on the beach, trying to rescue her because he thought she was being held against her will. His training to become a Dominant wasn't always easy, and he made a lot of mistakes as a young, arrogant, inexperienced Dom. But he eventually started to find his way and made a name for himself as the Dom Faelan in the BDSM community.

I was anxious to find out in his story if he was ever going to find the right woman who he could grow with and develop the type of Dom/sub relationship he sees all of the Doms he looks up to having with their partners.

Reading about Todd's past and the events that occurred that changed his life forever was heartbreaking. How will he ever find true harmony, something he will need if he is to join in a true trusting relationship with a sub? Until he learns to forgive himself and set the darkness in his soul free, he will never find peace and his relationships will continue to suffer because of it.

Seeing him step up to the plate to help Brie and Sir Davis, that was amazing. The family that was created out of the Submissive Center is truly a force to be reckoned with.

I would be remiss if I didn't at least mention Mary, but I can't reconcile my feelings for her at this point so I am staying silent until more is revealed about her. Or maybe nothing else will ever be revealed with her, at which point I will formulate my opinion of her once and for all. I will say that Red has written her character fantastically, as she is probably the most complex character out of all of them.

I was happy with how this story ended, leaving us with a couple of OMG moments and now nervously biting our fingernails leading us into the next book. Come on August 27th!!

Under His Protection is Faelan's Story. We meet Faelan early on when he meets Brie and decides to become a Dom at the Training Facility. He past has haunted him his whole life. In this book it we finally learned the entire truth of who Todd/Faelan was and what has shaped him into the man he is now. When the story first starts, Mary and Master Faelan are seemingly in a good place. I feel their relationship is getting stronger and deeper, only to be shocked when things start to fall apart. This leads Faelan back to California and Brie and Sir's life. He immediately learns of Lilly and her plot concerning Brie. Rystar has enlisted his help to make sure Lilly never hurts her, Sir, or their baby ever again.

Kylie is also introduced to us. She is from Todds/Faelan's past. These two embark on a little play time, and she also helps Faelan confront his demons and frees him.

With Rystar missing he will do everything in his power to keep his promise to keep them safe. Then, they devise a plan to go to Russia to find and bring Rystar safely home!

I thought the story was well written, and I'm thrilled to finally learn of Faelan's full story and what he deals with on a day to day basis. I was a saddened about him and Mary. I think they are good for one another, yet I'm intrigued about Kylie and I wanted more of her/ and her with Todd/Faelan. I can't wait to see where things lead when the "team" goes to Russia to find and rescue Rystar.

Under His Protection was another great installment in Brie's Submission. Faelan has always been a character that intrigued me. Red Pheniox stepped up the angst when bringing you Todd's story. It brought a refreshing new twist on previous events. While taking you deep into the Wolf Pups past and mind. And I have to admit I was definitely more than a little anxious to see more into Mary and Faelan's relationship. It was a emotionally charged rollercoaster that was deep and erotic. BUT keep your Kleenex handy because Todd brings the heartbreak you are expecting and more. Where there's heartbreak there is also equal amounts growth and healing from Faelan's character. Red Pheniox leaves you wanting so much more Faelan. He had a complex character that I feel this book only scratched the cover of. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the possibility of maybe another Faelan novel later on! Because I definitely didn't get my fix of Faelan and Kylie. I adored her character and have so many answers as to how their future plays out. And HOLY PLOT TWIST on that jaw dropping ending. It left me utterly speechless!

Under Her Protection was 4&1/2 STARS well earned to Red Pheniox on another beautifully written book.

Goosebumps mixed with tears and laughter...

I still need to fully digest my feelings for Faelan. He hasn't been a favorable character of mine but I am understanding the many sides of his character now. I will also be rereading 'Under His Protection' to help me further understand my change of heart towards Mr Wallace.

I loved the way he stepped up as Rytsar entrusted him with Brie's safety and life. I am saddened by how Mary treated Faelan but I trust, wholeheartedly that the author, Red Phoenix will guide us through her actions and I look forward to reading that book. I loved how Marquis handled the flogging scene and remained true to Celestia's feelings and reactions also. That man has quite the gift. I loved the way everyone came together in Thane's hospital room, even Boa. The tearful reunion of Ms Clarke and Sir, it was perfect that she was there. I am beyond ready for Rytsar's rescue although knowing him, he isn't just waiting to be rescued.

So many feelings this story continues to give us, the fans and family of Brie and Sir, all of the characters we love. Thank you, Red, for taking us on this amazing journey.

Red Phoenix continues to wow us with are favorite Doms and subs from the Submissive Training Academy.

The unique family they have come to be, continue to rise to the occasion to protect Brie while Sir slowly heals. Lily's being neutralized, however our favorite Russian, Rytsar is in tremendous danger. In order to keep Brie safe Rytsar enlists Marquis to assist, when he calls on him he finds Faelan has been staying with the intelligent, thoughtful Dom and his enchanting sub Celestia. Faelan joins the ranks and soon becomes an ally to all.

Fallen is chasing his own demons, fresh from a bad breakup, the sexy Dom finds himself enamored with a fiery sub with a link to his past. Todd's story was one that had to be told. He has lived his life in fear, filled with guilt. Will he be able to get past his demons and live the life he was meant to live? A thrilling, jaw dropping twist makes this another standout read in the series.

If you have not read a book by Red Phoenix you are certainly missing out on some Kindle melting and paper smoldering good reads. The series we are reading is the story of Brie and her journey through submissive training and on down the road within her life. The story unfolds over the pages of 13 books before this one. Each giving us a glimpse and more of each Dom and person in her life.

When we first meet Todd Faelan, I like so many others did not like him. However this book dives into his past and shows us who he. It provides answers we have longed to know. I do not want to give away information to the story of this book. However I will say this is certainly a 5 start read and you should pick up your copy today and fall head over heels to your knees with Faelan.

Under His Protection is book 14 in the Brie’s Submission series by Red Phoenix. I was a little hesitant going into this one knowing it was from Faelan’s point of view. So far I haven’t been overly thrilled with this character and I believe him being in a relationship with Mary isn’t a good match. I was quickly proven wrong not only on my assumption of how this book would go but on his character as well!!! Faelan has absolutely proved he has changed his ways and I absolutely love Kylie for him!! You really learn a lot about his past but how it shaped him into the person he has become and having Kylie there who knows and can connect with him on that level is amazing!!! I can’t wait to see these two grow as a couple!

Faelan has suffered from overwhelming survivor's guilt for 10 years. His carelessness caused the death of another and he's never forgiven himself. He's been set back on his heels a number of times in his life, most recently by a cruel breakup with Mary. He thought his love would make her whole again. It didn't. When he's drawn into helping keep Brie and Thane safe from Lilly, he steps up because he needs to repay debts owed to those who have there for him. He is also determined, with the help of others, to rescue Rystar. Through an old schoolmate who has become a new friend, he finds the absolutuon he needs to finally move on with his life.

Faelen

The torture that Todd has put himself through since the accident that killed Trevor has been immense. The last few years has been rough with the breakup & reconnection with Mary, his surgery & his recovery & now his relocation to LA.

Now we have Rytsar's attack & kidnapping. The arrest of Lilly. And the fear of what could happen next. This story is full of Faelan's coming into his own. Learning about what it is that he can do. And it's full of fear for Rytsar.

I cannot wait till August 27th when we have the end of the story. I may have to reread the whole Series. 😀

Enjoy!!

I would give this 3.5 stars, rather like the Master Anderson and Tono Nosaka's stories they are backstories that I guess need telling, especially Tod's as he is entrusted with Brie's care as Thane continues to recover. They do contain a great deal of flashbacks and repetition of parts of previous books, I have to therefore consider this as fluffing up the series.
I have enjoyed most of this series, however there are areas of dialogue and scene setting that are so surreal and really not believable they can make these stories appear weak. I also think this complete series could probably be reduced by 2-3 books if the individual stories were woven better into the main plot.

I never expected to see the story in Faelan's perspective and I am glad that I did. He surely has grown a lot in this series. The wolf pup has become a wolf. It is good to see how much he has matured and how much he has grown to forgive himself from his past. It is also good to see him stay close to the others of the center as well as of the community he is in.
I was not able to put this book down and I am glad that I gave it a chance. I was not sure at first if I wanted to read Faelan's side of the equation, but I am glad that I did.
There are not that many hot scenes in this book, but it does offer a new glimpse of the new and improved Todd. I truly recommend it.

Surprise Hero

I didn't know if I would love this book with the same passion as I've devoured the other 13 books in this series. Todd was never my favorite and always a background character. I should know better. Red Phoenix never disappoints!! This is an outstanding, soultouching, mind blowing account from Todd's perspective starting at Brie's collaring ceremony and ending at present time with the search for Rystar. I loved every word and I can't wait for book 15 later this month!!

Surprise

Faelon is the lead in this installment of the Brie series. He’s actually had a pretty tragic life and it’s great to understand where he’s come from and how he becomes such a likable guy in this boy. He and Mary are together but end up at odds buy the middle of the story and Faelon really grows up and becomes Brie and Thanes helper to save Rystar. The Doms from the Training Center really comes together in their fondness and respect for each other and are all willing to go to Russia to save their Russian Dom. Great read.

A very emotional read, which has left me in shock! Whoa! When Brie screamed for Rytsar whilst she was an emotional wreck...i did as well. Got to say this book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time i was reading it! How very dare you Red, doing this to me and leaving me hanging to boot! (think i might just read this one again, but for now, i want to know what happens to my favorite sadist Rytsar. I am biting my nails sitting on the edge of my seat still thinking about if that guy is all right and let me tell you Red he better be or feel my wrath...... Grrr lol 😂

Red Phoenix does it again! With each new book in this series, a little more is revealed about the lives and backstories of the characters. Of all the characters, Todd Wallace is one of my least favorites, but I have a new appreciation for him. For one who has read all of the Brie books, some of the story's twists and turns are not unexpected, but there are surprises that no one could have seen coming! Read this one now before the next book is out at the end of this month!

OMG... that was amazing! My heart hurts so much for Falen. Finding out about his past, and then the ending knowing what could have been. I hope one day he learns why... I am dying to find out about what is really going on with Mary. This book shows the amazing community to which they all belong. They give true meaning to being there for one another. I cannot wait to read the next one! <3<3<3

What friends are for

Rytsar is a hunted man but it will not stop him from protecting Brie. This is a roller coaster ride of suspense and joy. The evil that stalked Brie and Sir is contained for the moment. Rytsar has been captured. All the Masters join forces to help the Russian and Faelan is taking point. He is free of the guilt he has carried thanks to a new lady in his life. Now he just needs to return from his dangerous mission.

So DAMN Good!!

Ugh!! I LOVED this book! To know that Thane woke up, that Faelan was not broken by smart, just makes my heart sing. You know after the Collaring ceremony, my heart broke for Faelan, cause he just knew Brie was his. Yes, he went about it the wrong way, but the heart wants what it wants. So glad that I got the chance to read his story! And I can't wait to read what comes next!

Painful, Powerful, Necessary

Regret is a dangerous and powerful thing. Self doubt and self loathing cause more harm to you than good. In this book you will find out that peace that can be had if you just learn let it go, and learn to forgive yourself. The surprise at the end was intense!!

~Red, you truly are a Godess! I'm grateful for your profound words of hope and the uplifting meaning in this story!~

Wasn't a fan

I wasn't a fan of Faelan. He just didn't make it easy for me to like him because of his attraction to Brie. In this story he totally redeemed himself. He stepped up for both Brie and Thane and even knowing that our Russian Dom didn't like him he showed him that he was a man of honor. I'm so happy that he made me love him. I was just so sad that
Mary walked away from him the way she did, but I'm so happy that he found love again.

Protect me!

I'm gonna honest I was hoping to read more about the Rystar. When I saw the book is Faelan, I groaned and I knew I would have to deal with reading about Mary. These two characters not my favorite LOL! However Todd has redeemed himself, I'm excited to read more about him and Kylie if Todd comes back in one piece from Russia. I can't wait to see what Mary does with Lilly but I am also curious about the producer and Mary, still not a fan of hers LOL!

Wow. This is from the point of view of Todd Wallace. Like the last 2 books, we do visit the Brie and Thane situation, but this one focuses more on Todd. I knew he was a lost soul, but not how deep down really hurt. Mary is a force to be reckoned with. We find out how close the BDSM community really is with eachither, friendships run deep. Marquis Grey has taken Todd under his wing, and shiws Todd how it can be used for healing another, and lets Todd know how his demons effect him.

This book gives you background on Todd Wallace aka Faelen. We get to see what happened in his past to cause him to be the way he is. Todd and Mary put up with each other and realize they have real feelings for each other. He gets the chance to prove his worth and gets closure on his past as well as a friend that helps him to take that step. Some typos but a good story none the less. Todd’s story had to be told and it fit well at this point.

I was so happy to get Faelan's story

What a moving story of what made the Wolfpup in the strong Dom Faelan. After all his scars and guilt. We finally get to hear his whole story. We learn what he learned from his experiences with Brie and Mary. How he over came all of his feels of hurt and betrayal. Now we see if he can save the Russian in time. I can't wait for the next installment.
