Dylan Anders is making amends. After hitting rock bottom, he's got something to prove and this time, there's no looking back. Unfortunately, looking forward has him trying to volunteer for a literacy campaign where he has to win the approval of the one woman who seems unaffected by his charm. He never expected it to be easy, but he certainly never expected to have to work quite so hard to win one woman's approval.
Ambitious Paige Walters is ecstatic when she's hired to recruit musicians for a literacy campaign-it's her chance to prove she's got the chops to make it in the family business. When Dylan steps in, she immediately dislikes him and vows not to let the fallen idol screw it up. But as the work brings Paige and Dylan closer together, their attraction grows...and so do their challenges...

What People Are Saying about Samantha "Classic, thoughtful, and sometimes as lyrical as the stars." -Kirkus for A Sky Full of Stars "A delight for readers...a classic love story." -RT Book Reviews for This is Our Song "So much more than just a romance." -Night Owl Reviews for Always My Girl
Samantha Chase is a New York Times and USA Today bestseller of contemporary romance that’s hotter than sweet, sweeter than hot. She released her debut novel in 2011 and currently has more than seventy titles under her belt – including THE CHRISTMAS COTTAGE which was a Hallmark Christmas movie in 2017! She’s a Disney enthusiast who still happily listens to 80’s rock. When she’s not working on a new story, she spends her time reading romances, playing way too many games of Solitaire on Facebook, wearing a tiara while playing with her sassy pug Maylene…oh, and spending time with her husband of 30 years and their two sons in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
This is second in a series and characters and setup follows from the first so I recommend reading in order. Frankly, Riley from This Is Our Song is important, too, and that's from a separate series. Might want to pick that one up too, but I did fine without it.
We pick up with Dylan coming out of rehab with a lot of shame and determination. I'm not a fan of "issue" books, but this worked for me. I liked that you could see how his fear motivated him in the right ways and that he wasn't going to take things for granted. It made it easy to engage with him so that Paige's initial write-off of him had a strong impact.
Paige being both judgmental and such a weenie with her family made it hard to connect with her at first. Her willingness to step-up and acknowledge when she was wrong and to give him a real chance made all the difference and it wasn't long before I attached to her, too—though not without some continuing friction because I'm not a fan of doormats and she keeps letting her family walk all over her for longer than I liked.
That said, this is a growth-arc story with both leads learning to overcome their weaknesses and each having the other's strength and support. I loved seeing them come together and learn trust. And I really like that Chase gave them some non-standard friction that required each to consider what they were willing to give to being together. So they each had to make a deliberate choice to stay and I liked how that worked out (and not least because neither fobbed their confusion/doubt on the other).
The final move by Paige's family surprised me as it was a bit high on the drama side. Chase had put enough support for it that I wasn't pushed out of the story despite the extremity of the dysfunction. But it was still a bit close to tripping my BS filter. I did appreciate how it worked as the payoff for Paige and Dylan's trust and showed how they'd weather some pretty serious setbacks (including ).
Anyway, this ends up a bit of a weak four stars. I liked them both and the growth arc was engaging and believable even though I had some friction along the way (mostly with Paige's family and her having to learn to give them boundaries). I'm interested in more of the series, and that's not nothing.
A note about Steamy: There are no explicit sex scenes in the story. But there are enough lead-ins and nekkid play that it still qualifies for my steam tag, I think. Just on the very, very lightest possible setting.
Paige works for her family’s PR firm in LA. Her relationship is strained with her father and especially her sister. Her sister is used to sitting on Paige’s coat tails letting her do all the work until the very end where she swoops in and steals all the credit.
Paige thinks she finally has something that will show her dad what she can do and its something that she is very passionate about, Literacy Now. But Ariel once again sweeps in and finagles Paige into the position of baby sitting a Dylan Anders, a rock star recently out of rehab.
Dylan wants to change his life and realizes that his “community service” working with Paige on the Literacy Now program is his chance. Dylan is also passionate about Literacy because he had trouble reading as a child.
Dylan finds Paige not knowing who he is refreshing and that her treatment of him is like he is an everyday person and not the bass play of Shaughnessy, a huge rock band. Dylan doesn’t think he is good enough for Paige, but he shows her that she is more talented than her family has ever given her credit for.
Amazing emotional connection right from the start, Chase draws the readers in with vividly compiled words…its pure magic.
I received this ARC copy of One More Promise from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca. This is my honest and voluntary review. One More Promise is set for publication Feb. 6, 2017.
Paige lives a life of rules, structure and safety. Dissatisfied with her job at her families PR firm, she struggles daily to be what they want her to be but can never measure up. When her sister steps into Paige’s latest project, despite screwing up some of the details, it actually ends up being the thing that will change Paige’s life. Instead of a literary genius, her sister has contracted a rock star to help push their new literacy campaign.
Dylan is a recovering alcoholic. Now that he’s got rehab behind him, he’s finding life has nothing to really offer him. His band is on hiatus and even if it weren’t, he’s not sure he’s ready to be thrown back into that life again. Nevertheless, he’s bored and looking for the something more that life might offer him. Due to a court mandate, he must serve community service and he soon finds himself in the company of Paige with her quirky way of dressing, her large framed glasses and her disregard for his star status.
I really enjoyed this story of Paige and Dylan. This was more of a character driven story rather than one led by drama or angst, and although there is just a tad, it isn’t the focal point of the book. I liked that this showed their relationship as true in that they both suffer from growing pains when learning to share their life with a significant other. Along the way, they each continue to seek out a way to make their professional lives more satisfactory even while blending it with their personal lives.
This is well written and never bogged down. The secondary characters were terrific, even Paige’s family that I wanted to smack a time or two. The chemistry was spot on even if there isn’t a lot of sexy times shared with the reader. I didn’t miss it because these characters were so real to me, I just had to know how things were going to work out for them.
This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and Sourcebooks.
Dual POV Safe – no om/ow drama; H was a manho before rehab Possible Triggers - alcoholism
Paige Walters works for her family PR firm in Los Angeles with her father and sister. She has always felt like an Ugly Duckling, or maybe Cinderella compared to her tall, svelte, glamorous sister and always falls short in the eyes of their father, even though her sister Ariel never actually does any work and dumps it all on Paige. Although with clients and other people Paige is forthright and firm, with her father and sister she is just a doormat and she never gets the courage to call them on their bad behaviour.
Paige feels passionately about a charity called Literacy Now and she has come up with a campaign involving famous authors, which she hopes will encourage reluctant readers at school to get more involved with books.
As usual, Ariel is asked to do one simple thing and, not only doesn't do what she was asked, but decides to go off on a tangent. Instead of contacting famous authors, Ariel decides that what the campaign needs are just famous people full stop and has invited rock stars and actors instead.
Dylan Anders has just spent three months in rehab after crashing his car whilst under the influence. He is the bass player with Shaughnessy, a famous rock band, and desperate to turn his life around. He is required to perform several months' Community Service following the accident and thinks that the literacy now campaign could be something he could get behind, particularly because he had difficulty reading as a child too.
Paige really has no idea who Dylan is, which he finds refreshing, initially put off by his tattoos and image she comes to find that the man underneath is nothing like the media image. Dylan likes Paige, he knows she is too good for him, she should date a lawyer or someone like that, but while the band is on hiatus he thinks the campaign will keep him out of trouble. he's never had a relationship last more than a few months anyway and Paige just isn't that sort of girl.
Paige is sick of her sister taking all the glory while she does all the hard work, she's sick of her father falling for Ariel's attention-grabbing tactics, she's sick of Ariel undermining her and criticising her clothing choices, but most of all she's sick of everyone thinking she's Miss Goody Two Shoes. if she wants to have a short-lived affair with a tatted rocker, why shouldn't she?
This was just a joy from start to finish. I haven't read any of the other books in the series but I don't think its necessary to be able to enjoy this one. If you like bad boys trying to turn over a new leaf and clever, funny women with a sweet tooth then this is definitely a great romance for you. I also got the distinct impression that this was a 'fade to black' kind of romance, I'm not going to go back and double check every sexy moment, but that was my overall opinion.
I thought I recognised some lines from famous (to me) films in there somewhere too!
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Leave it to his parents to think all he needed to get started on this new life was a new suitcase.
Ariel didn’t smile. She rarely did. She thought it caused wrinkles.
She wasn’t even his usual type, but it turned out his usual type wasn’t particularly good for him.
A man knew when to pay attention, and Dylan learned early on that food was to Paige what flowers were to some women.
My Review:
This was a relatively light and easy to follow story with a slowly developing romance between Dylan, a newly rehabbed and tattooed bad boy rock-star with his reputation in tatters; and Paige, the mousy, uptight, and generally overlooked yet anxious to please PR executive who was assigned to be his handler. Paige worked in her father’s firm and her family was rather vile, yet they provided most of the comic relief.
If you have ever read a romance novel at any time in your life then, of course, you already know the outcome, yet the story was entertaining with a few delightfully naughty bits, and the characters were sweet and endearingly flawed. Although, I was slow to fully warm up to Paige as she was initially rudely judgmental and inflexible. I did not expect the former hard-partying man-ho rock-star to be the most level-headed, considerate, and thoughtful character in the book, but I adored the sweet and sexy Dylan.
Most girls/women have had a rock-star or famous actor fantasy or two - um thousand, yes, I will fess up… I’ll own it and wave my hands in the air like I do not care. While I don’t read rocker romances often, there are times I need something lighter in tone to break up the tedium or alleviate the residual heaviness from over-servings of angst or brain scrambling thrillers, and this sexy bad boy with a bad rep for fast living and hard partying came at a good time. And well, it’s from Samantha Chase, nuff said.
I’m a sucker for books about rock stars, bands, musicians and I know it is because music has always been important in my life, so I easily fell in love with Samantha Chase’s Shaughnessy: Band on the Run series. This book deals with a band member who made some big time mistakes which landed him in rehab and he is now trying to keep on track, get his life in order, and be a better person. I liked the realism of it, the fact that he makes mistakes, he owns them, he learns to apologize and mean it, and how he begins to realize that other people matter in his life when he hurts the woman who has called him out, made him live life again, and believed in him even when he didn’t believe in himself. One More Promise is filled with forgiveness, hope, laughter, and love and it was a joy to read.
Dylan Anders knows he has a tough road ahead of him; he isn’t foolish enough to think he has his addictions kicked and he is seriously committed to helping the literacy campaign his manager has set him up with especially since he knows he can shut himself off from the world. He figures he’ll be working with an older librarian type and it will be a good start and a safe assignment and then he meets Paige Walters and his world is turned a bit upside down.
I loved that Paige wasn’t impressed by Dylan’s celebrity and while she was enamored with his looks, his past haunted her and she wasn’t shy about letting him know. Her honesty was something that was refreshing and something Dylan admired. This relationship built over time as they spent lots of time together on the campaign, but also a lot of time sharing with one another both discovering that their need for parental approval set them on their respective messed up paths. I appreciated that while attracted Dylan didn’t want to draw Paige into his messed up life, he really was trying to be a better man and I think it set the tone that Paige tired of his excuses took matters into her own hands. They brought out the best in one another and supported each other, something they both desperately needed in their lives.
I appreciated that Ms. Chase didn’t shy away from the stigma of rehab, or the issues that come with sobriety especially for someone in the public eye. I thought she was respectful of the issues addicts face and that each day is a challenge and for that I applaud her.
Both Paige and Dylan were struggling in different ways and while they were pretty good at communicating sometimes they lost their way. It was good to see them learn from their mistakes, learn to apologize, and work on their relationship along the way.
I love the way Ms. Chase immerses you in her books and One More Promise is no different; you embrace the characters, you cheer their accomplishments, you feel their sorrow, and you rejoice when they find love and that is the mark of an excellent story.
A year ago I was reviewing my very first Samantha Chase book and it book 1 in this series, One More Kiss. I fell in love with her writing then and continue to love her words today!
Okay, so Dylan has quite the sensational past. Every cliché of a rocker gone bad, Dylan resembles. But that was then and this is now. He knows who he was and accepts it but he also wants to do better. He wants to be better. Cue the literacy program run by Paige.
Paige and Dylan don’t get off to a smooth start. She makes rash judgments about him that really are not surprising. I mean he does have a reputation, so Dylan is prepared for all of it. He’s also not what she was looking for the literacy program. She wanted authors. But of course, the boss wants him so ….. let games begin :) or should I say sparks :)
Without giving too many details away, I have to say that I very much enjoyed both Dylan’s and Paige’s growths in this book. Individually and as a romantic couple. They were a fantastic couple together and really good humans apart. Both of them have had their own versions of rocky paths to travel and it warmed my heart as much as it tore it up.
This was another high ranking **happy sigh** book that shouldn't be missed by this author. It will make you feel good no matter what's going on in your life :)
Quite liked this one - especially the hero and heroine. Interesting story. Paige and Dylan are fantastic! I enjoy this group of people and seeing them as they grow! Looking forward to the 3rd in the series!
Paige Walters loves PR, marketing and promoting. She works in her father’s PR firm along with her sister. She allows her dad and sister to walk all over her. Needless to say, she has self-esteem issues. She is frustrated and beginning to hate what she loves. She has put her heart and soul into her job at the cost of a personal life.
Dylan Anders is a bass guitarist for a famous rock band. He has a reputation as a manwhore and alcoholic only concerned with looking for his next good time. He has just finished a 3 month rehab stint after crashing his vehicle while under the influence. Community service is also part of his sentencing. Dylan has realized he’s hit bottom and wants to turn his life around.
Paige’s passion is for the Literacy Now campaign, raising funds for library services and access to them. She has worked to get multiple authors to join her when her dad takes the campaign away from her and gives it to her sister. Her sister decides they need more famous people to lead it. Enter Dylan.
When Paige meets Dylan she sees a heavily tattooed trouble maker and not at all what she envisioned for her campaign. Dylan recognizes he’s got an uphill battle to convince her to take a chance on him.
Once Dylan and Paige started spending time together, she begins to see the nice guy beneath the tatts and reputation. They become friends. Dylan was focused on getting his life together and didn’t want to drag Paige into his crazy world of no privacy and people watching his every move waiting for him to fail. Paige decides she’s going for it and Dylan doesn’t stand a chance.
I liked that Paige is short and curvy, not the usual glamorous model type heroine. She isn’t afraid to eat or admit she has a sweet tooth. She has her own style and doesn’t dress like everyone else .I enjoyed watching her finally grow a backbone and stand up for herself.
I loved Daisy, Paige’s assistant. She was Paige’s biggest supporter and friend. She is quirky, funny and hard working.
Ariel, Paige’s sister, is a tool. She’s mean, snarky, ignorant and takes every opportunity to cut Paige down privately and publicly make her look bad in front of everyone. Her dad is also a jerk, never recognizing her sister’s duplicity or Paige’s abilities. His actions near the end made me want to knock him out.
I loved the phrase “Inhale the future, exhale the past.”
This can easily be read as a standalone even though people from other books/series make an appearance.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.
This book was a good read. I remember the saying, "Never judge a book by its cover."
Too many times people are judged by what they read and what they think they know about the person, when in all actuality you don't know the person at all.
This was the story of bad boy Dylan Anders. His reputation preceded him, and people believed the stories that they read, or what they knew about his past. Dylan has turned a page in his life. Although he has changed, he knows that no matter what some people will only see his past and not look at the man that he is now.
I loved Dylan from the start, but I couldn't stand Paige. It took me a while to actually feel sorry for her. It took me a while to actually like her.
Upon finding out Dylan's past Paige became very judgmental and thought that she knew the man that Dylan had become. Well she was wrong. That bothered me; I instantly disliked her.
Paige had her own problems which she seemed reluctant to deal with, I became sorry for her. In life no one wants to be constantly used.
I liked how Dylan's and Paige's relationship naturally grew, it didn't seem forced. It wasn't instant love. They both got to know each and grew from there.
Paige Walters is working on starting a literacy program, wanting to leave her PR job. Now she meets Dylan who has just gotten out of rehab and yet is still searching for something to fill the void that is missing since the band is on hiatus. Wanting to work with this program for his own personal reasons from when he was younger. He gives himself to the program. He is still fighting himself, his addiction and the steps he need to make in order to improve himself. Leaving his house is step one for him, and he thinks everything is going good until someone goes and breaks it all up. Paige believes him and with her help they are able to overcome the first hurdle. Now though he feels that because of his past he will always be looked upon as a failure and a drunk. When the pressure gets to be too much he calls for help and he also needs help in fixing things with Paige. This is when he tells her about his past and why her program is so important to him. A wonderful book to go along with the other books in this story. Very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com I gave it 4 stars. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com

3.5 Stars
I have read a couple of books by Samantha Chase, and I was drawn to the idea of a character who was just starting to put his life back together after some bad decisions. The slightly broken, but on the mend hero, is always appealing as they feel human and it's easier to gain a connection with that hero than some other more "perfect" romantic heroes. In this case, I really connected with Dylan, I felt like I understood him and related to him.
I really liked the parts of the book that focused on Paige and Dylan. I liked their chemistry and I liked how real their relationship felt. I also liked, oddly, that Paige was written (at least initially) as a bitch. She was really judgmental, she makes assumptions about Dylan, and I enjoyed the glimpses of the personality of both of them that are given through these interactions.
I was not as thrilled with the secondary characters, particularly Paige's family, and there were times that I felt they were a little unrealistic. I get the idea that they needed to have that connection, but I had a hard time believing a lot of the situations that resulted from those characters.
Samantha Chase is an expert at dreaming up larger than life characters that are hard to resist and even harder to walk away from. Her greatest asset is her ability to humanize those large personalities into people we as readers can relate to. That has never been more evident, than within the pages of One More Promise. Dylan is a man with a ton of baggage and a persona that overshadows his remorseful attitude. Paige is a woman, with a bit of a chip on her shoulder and a lot to prove. One More Promise is a tale of forgiveness that borders on regret and spirals into an unforgettable love story. Second chances aren't given, they're earned.
Samantha Chase's Holiday Spice was one of my favorite holiday books of 2017! Holiday Spice had heart, swoony romance, and a drool worthy setting, and because of that, I couldn't wait to read more by Samantha. So when the chance came up to read and review One More Promise, Samantha's latest book, I instantly said yes! Romance, rock stars, and a literacy campaign?! I simply couldn't wait!
The result? One More Promise offers up yet another swoony pairing as well as a heartwarming look at second chances and new beginnings. While I didn't love it nearly as much as Holiday Spice, reading it was still a wonderful way to spend a few hours.
One More Promise focuses on Dylan Anders and Paige Walters, two twenty-somethings unwillingly brought together for a literacy campaign.
Dylan is a former bad boy on the path to redemption. He's struggled with partying, alcohol, and drugs over the past few years; however, now that he's fresh out of rehab, he's determined to remain sober. From the first page, I was rooting for Dylan. It was easy to see how hard he was trying and why staying sober this time was so incredibly important to him. Going along with that, I thought Samantha did a great job of bringing Dylan's emotions and struggles to the surface. His recovery was never simple...sometimes he felt tempted and sometimes he faced the judgement and hate of people who thought he'd never change...but Dylan stayed resilient and I couldn't have been prouder of him. I also loved how determined he was to be part of the literacy campaign, especially since it brought him and Paige together.
Paige, on the other hand, is sick of being the good daughter, the good sister, and the good employee, because being good has gotten her nowhere lately. Her dad walks all over her, her sister walks all over her, and her entire company walks all over her. It doesn't help matters that her entire literacy campaign has been hijacked by her sister and father under the guise of "helping." I truly felt for Paige. It's hard sometimes to step up to people, especially those closest to you; however, given Paige's circumstances, I felt that it was only a matter of time until Paige lost it. I couldn't believe the moves Paige's sister and dad would pull. If I was in Paige's shoes, I would've lost it way sooner than her. What I liked the most about Paige, however, was how compassionate and hardworking she was. She knew what she wanted in life - to fight for causes and people that she valued - and this showed greatly through her actions and words.
The plot in One More Promise primarily focused on Dylan and Paige's enemies-to-friends romance as well as Paige and Dylan taking on their respective demons. I felt the romance in One More Promise was well developed. It took a while to get the "juice;" however, I enjoyed the slow build of it. It was fun to see Paige and Dylan start off as enemies in some respects, and then slowly become unwilling friends. I loved how they brought out the best in each other as well as encouraged the other to ask for more in life. As I mentioned before, I thought Samantha did a great job of handing Dylan's recovery. While I wish the struggle with Paige and her family was a bit more developed, it was still an important part of the plot. So much of Paige's life as tied up into her family so it was interesting to see her slowly break free.
Overall, One More Promise is a bittersweet yet romantic ride from start to finish, and for those of you who love epilogues, One More Promise's epilogue will have you oohing and awing.

I enjoyed the book, but not as much as I wanted. I was a bloodthirsty creature wanting to see Ariel getting what she deserved. Well, she did, but I wanted something a little more cruel to happen. And we never found out if she was indeed pregnant. I also hated Paige's father. He was a bad person and I hated how he treated her. I am happy to see him almost destroyed. I was almost satisfied with the way Dylan and Paige confronted them.
Speaking of Paige, I have to say that I liked her. She was a good person and a bookworm like me. She doesn't have a backbone at first, but slowly she becomes stronger and she is able to fight for what she wants and I liked that. As you might know, I don't expect always character development, but I always love it when I see it and give extra points to the book. Dylan was a good hero. After his rehab, he is a changed man and it's for the best. I loved him. From the secondary characters, I liked Dylan's band, Daisy who I hope will get a book and Kathy. I hated Ariel and her father as I mentioned above, but these were the only two who were bad.
The book was good. The characters were to my liking, the plot was good even if I was frustrated with all the changes Ariel was making and the main couple had a great romance. I loved that Paige didn't even think of blaming Dylan for what happened to them and how she didn't doubt him. I am happy I read this book and I would definitely recommend it.
Dylan teaches us that we should never judge a book by its cover. He went through so much and goes on a wonderful journey in this book. Samantha chase continues the Band on the Run series with Dylan’s story. Dylan is the bad boy rock star only to me it isn’t who he truly is. I think he does what he does because he is crying out for attention. He wanted to also numb his pain. He was successful and amazing but didn’t see himself as someone who anyone would care for. He drank to excess and was your typical stereotype of a rock star. Until he hits bottom and makes a change. A change that he realizes is needed for himself. Now he wants to be a better version of himself. He knows it will be a struggle but a struggle he wants to go on. He makes changes. At first he hides out not wanting the temptation. Than he decides to remove the memories and start anew. He does a introspection of his past and sees the truth and doesn’t like it. Now he is taking control only he had some self doubt and doesn’t see the guy he really is. He is a smart, sweet, caring and understanding man. Passionate about music and talented as well. It is Paige that helps him see this. And his bandmates that give him in the end a reason to fight to keep his love alive. Paige is a smart and capable woman. she has a complicated family life and it does cause her stress. To me her family keeps her confidence and belief in herself down. She is a pushover for them. Let’s her sister taunt her and use her so she can have peace of mind. Only it hurts her because her sister steals the thunder and takes credit for things she shouldn’t. How do two seemingly different people yet both the same in questioning themselves come together? Paige is doing a campaign for Literacy (her sister does take control here to but is a complete idiot and Paige is the one running it but not getting the credit for it for it is expected of her). At first Dylan sees this as a way to get his community service done. than he meets Paige and is smitten. He is intrigued by her only she doesn’t see him as anything but a typical rock star. she judges him and isn’t very kind to him once she finds out about her past. She shames him. It does hurt Dylan and he finds a way to use it to his advantage. Paige though is the one blown away by Dylan. SHe may not have wanted him at the beginning but they are good for each other. She does see the advantage to having him there. they are attracted to one another and you can feel it in the air around them. Only Dylan is trying to be opposite of what he was and fighting that attraction. He is kind to her and they have some engaging conversations that intrigue them but also get them to see how much they challenge and support one another. Dylan helps build her confidence and becomes her confidant. Paige helps Dylan see who he really is and gives him the confidence to believe in himself as well. The two give us a entertaining tale as they struggle with their feelings and themselves to be together. When they come together at first it was because of a misunderstanding due to Dylan’s past. Over time that becomes more and a fight for them to keep. Not because of their feelings but outside forces. It is those outside forces that comes close to tearing them apart. ONly Dylan with the help of his bandmates figures out what is worth fighting for love and himself because they show him he is worth it and Paige showed him this as well. A tender entertaining story. The characters have you engaged and are likeable. Told from Dylan and Paige’s view and it gives a complete picture of what is going on in their lives and their hearts. We get tender moments like after the party, sexy moments and intimate moments when they confide in one another. their struggles are real and how they support each other and lift each other up is written in a very real and wonderful way. The journey to self discovery and self worth is seamlessly written into the story and becomes a part of their love for one another. They understand each other and help break down barriers each has and sees beyond the outside to what the other really is- a great, caring and loving person that loves, supports and respects one another.
Samantha Chase has created the perfect friends- to -lovers romance for fallen rock star Dylan Anders and super-efficient public relations executive, Paige Walters. At first glance—Dylan and Paige seem like an unlikely couple. He’s a jeans and t-shirt guy and Paige is a sweater, scarf and skirt person. Maybe they have more in common than they think? Paige works at her father’s PR firm in Los Angeles and as a manager she can choose projects that interest her. Paige loves to read and wants to be a part of the Literacy Now project. She envisions famous authors meeting children and encouraging them to read. Paige can’t believe that her sister Ariel has invited celebrities, not authors to the program and that her father approves of the changes! Shaughnessy guitarist Dylan Anders has completed his required 90-day stay in rehab after a DUI. Rehab has had a positive impact on Dylan; he’s decided accept responsibility for his behavior. Dylan understand he needs to make some serious lifestyle changes – he wants to be a better man. Participating in the Literacy Now campaign enables him to complete his required community service, help others who struggle with reading and obtain some positive press. Loved that Paige had no clue that Dylan was a famous musician. Her first impression of the scruffy, tattooed bass player isn’t positive. She is sure that the only reason Dylan is joining the project is to complete his three- month community service requirement. Paige is floored when she learns that Dylan understands what she is trying to accomplish with Literacy Now and that Dylan is an avid reader. Loved that Dylan did not judge Paige and he took the time to listen to her. As Dylan and Paige’s relationship evolved, it was apparent through Dylan’s actions that he was committed to be a better man. In my opinion, this compelling character choice moved this book from a good to an excellent read. The secondary characters add so much color to the novel. Samantha Chase’s depiction of Ariel is spot on. The author’s description of the sister’s rivalry and their back and forth banter gave the reader insight as to Paige’s family and work environment. Loved Daisy—Paige’s loyal assistant. She adds a lot of humor to the story. Loved that Dylan and Paige connected with the Shaughnessy band members and that Paige saw Dylan’s devotion to his music. I enjoyed that the romance between the couple developed slowly—at first Paige and Dylan resisted their attraction to each other. Both characters struggled with their own insecurities which made their journey towards happiness relatable to me. Loved the superbly written conclusion to One More Promise. There are several compelling plot twists and a few surprises in this emotional story which is full of drama, heartbreak, forgiveness and most of all—love. One More Promise has it all the feels--captivating characters, family drama and a heartwarming romance! And I guarantee that you will fall in love with former bad boy rock star Dylan and the woman who inspires his desire to change.
Living life in the shadows is not easy for most people. For Paige – working at her family’s PR firm is a constant reminder of just how much she resides in the shadow of her sibling. In spite of being the one that carries all of the weight at work, somehow Paige is constantly overlooked and pushed aside for her sister. A serious slap in the face when Paige is not recognized for the contributions that she has made for the business.
After rocking a serious promotion for a Literacy Now campaign, Paige once again found her project torn to shreds by Ariel. With the complete regrouping of ‘celebrities’ that Ariel chose to work on the project over Paige’s list, a rock star straight out of rehab arrives on the scene. Dylan Anders is a rocker at heart, and his recent stint in rehab has left him with community service hours that need to be fulfilled. With a desire to regroup and change his ways, Dylan is committed to helping the Literacy Now project in any way that he can.
With the job of head of the project now out of her hands, Paige has been assigned the task of ‘babysitting’ Dylan. While it is definitely not the ‘job’ Paige had imagined, Dylan is quite surprised that Paige has no clue who he is on the rock scene. A refreshing change of pace from the usual invasion of Dylan’s privacy. Paige decides that she wants to deviate from the constant undermining of Ariel, and decides to throw caution to the wind where Dylan is concerned. The only problem? Where will things lead once their campaign is over?
One More Promise is quite the refreshing spin on a rocker romance. The way Paige and Dylan cross paths is definitely a plus for this fan of the literacy world. The duo are complete opposites, and it makes for some really interesting encounters between the two characters. Dylan battles with his mistakes from the past, and that is prevalent in the way he is trying to straighten up his life. Paige has always gone ‘unnoticed’ where her family was concerned, and Dylan’s appearance in her life adds a spark that was very interesting to see blossom.
Overall – One More Promise was a lighthearted romance that had an interesting premise. A novel that can be read as a standalone, but is part of a series. While I enjoyed the tension, teasing, and romance that buds between Paige and Dylan, I am looking forward to uncovering more about each character in the band!! *Clears throat* It wouldn’t hurt to see a little more Daisy in future books as well!! A great book that gives a new ‘light’ to a rocker romance!!
I really enjoyed this book and would absolutely recommend it! I found this story to be a mix of all things I enjoy reading. One More Promise is Book 2 in the Band on the Run Series. Although it was book 2 in the series it could still be read as a stand-alone. I had not read book 1 before I read One More Promise and I didn't feel like I missed anything. However, after reading book 2 I definitely want to read book one and any books after. One More Promise follows Paige and Dylan's story. Paige along with her sister Ariel work for their father's PR firm in LA. Paige is always playing second fiddle to Ariel who can do no wrong in their father's eyes. No matter how hard Paige works Ariel finds a way to swoop in and make it about her and be the face at the end of the campaigns. Dylan is the lead guitarist for a very popular band named Shaughnessy who is just out of rehab looking for redemption in the public's eye. Dylan is asked by Paige's sister Ariel (in yet another attempt to take over) to work on a Literacy campaign that Paige is currently working on. This campaign is very important to Paige and Dylan isn't the type of person Paige had in mind for this campaign but in the end she is forced to go with it. Both Dylan and Paige help each other through personal issues as well as falling in love along the way. As with most stories there are obstacles in their way. What will happen in the end you will have to read yourself but you won't be disappointed. I would give this book 4.5 Wine Glasses/Stars!

New York Times and USA Today bestselling romance author Samantha Chase delivers a sweet Rockstar romance. Yes, I know that totally sounds like an oxymoron, but she totally managed to make it happen in One More Promise.
Paige is in charge of the literacy campaign held by her family’s business, and she couldn’t be happier. Used to doing all the work and getting none of the credit Paige is determined that this time will be different. She has it all planned out, things are looking good, then a Rockstar shows up.
Dylan wore the bad boy Rockstar persona well, that was until he went to rehab. Things look a lot different sober. He joins up to participate in the literacy program hoping to make amends and find himself. Problem is his reputation precedes him.
This is the typical bad boy and good girl scenario that you expect from a Rockstar romance, but is not as explicitly sexy as you would think. This a sweet and charming romance that just happens to have a bad boy Rockstar.
I loved getting to know both Dylan and Paige and following along on their journey to love. From fighting their attraction to falling hard for each other this was fun and engaging. You can feel that the connection between these two is instantaneous even when they refuse to acknowledge it. I love my Rockstars and Samantha didn’t disappoint with Dylan. Four stars.
Another one to mark on your TBR ladies! Samantha has done it again and OH MY, was this a fun ride.
This novel follows Paige and Dylan. Paige works in PR and Dylan, a recovering alcoholic rockstar, is part of her newest project.
And let the fun begin.
This was a story about growth and just falling in love. There wasn't a whole lot of chaos or giant surprises, but it was such a great read to send an afternoon falling in love with. The chemistry and the true connection of these characters is everything. Throw in a fantastic cast and you are going to fall in love with this world as much as I have. Add to Goodreads Buy On Amazon: http://amzn.to/2BFYlu2 Synopsis: Ambitious Paige Walters is ecstatic when she's hired to recruit musicians for a literacy campaign—it's her chance to prove she's got the chops to make it in the family business. She certainly isn't going to let some fallen idol screw it up. But as the work brings Paige and Dylan closer together, their attraction grows...and so do their challenges...
One More Promise is a book that I could not put down. I was excited to keep reading about Paige and Dylan. The story had spunk, love, strong characters, a fun setting, and a great storyline. I loved that the characters were relatable, even the famous band members. There were unlikable characters that were necessary for the story to flow and be true to life but most were likable.
My feelings while reading were up and down. I laughed, I sighed in contentment, I smiled, and I had tears all while reading page after page of this wonderful story. I laughed at the fun Dylan and Nora had. I was content with their relationship and how real it was. I cried at how both characters were treated by friends and family but loved how strong they both were, especially when they were together. I was in awe of how together these two were able to conquer anything.
This is the perfect heartwarming and loving story. The characters were amazing and the storyline was fast paced. I recommend picking up your own copy and enjoying the story of Nora and Jack.
Loved this book! Dylan and Paige are fantastic characters and they just seemed to bring out the best in each other. This is the second book in the Band on the Run series but it is easily read standalone. The writing is excellent and the story is fun and nicely paced.
While the band's on hiatus Dylan is working hard to get himself together. Fresh out of rehab he's looking for something to keep him busy as well as complete his required community service hours. That's where Paige Walters comes in although she's not happy about it. Her sister has turned Paige's literacy campaign into a circus in Paige's opinion but with no other choice she has to go along with it. She tries to make the best of it. Spending time with Dylan is no hardship but as their attraction grows she worries how she'll ever say goodbye.
One More Promise: Book 2 in Band in the Run Series—
I truly love Paige and Dylan. They both have a lot in common. A must read.
Dylan is trying to get his life back in order. The band is taking a break. So his manger thinks getting him to do a Literacy Program will be good for him, and help set an example for the public to see him in a different light.
Paige Walters is trying to put a literacy campaign together, but it doesn’t involve musicians. Her father and sister are harping on her to change things up from just authors. She finally gives in.
As Paige and Dylan spend more time together she sees things in a different light, and is ashamed that she judged him right away.
But when something unforeseen happens what will Paige and Dylan do?
What a very sweet and charming story!! It is very enjoyable!
I fully enjoyed Dylan! Dylan gets into some trouble. His community service is helping Paige at PRW with Literacy Now campaign. Paige is a very hard worker but there were several times I shook my head. She made quite frustrated. Paige gets pushed over by her Dad, her boss, and her sister who also works at PRW.
Dylan teaches us all a valuable lesson: if you set your mind to straightening your life out it is YOU who changes it! Everyone will pass judgment but don't let them get to you. Keep changing YOU!
This series is very enjoyable! Highly recommend reading!
Dylan was a hard rocker who crashed and burned. He had to go to rehab and after had to do community service. This is where he met Paige. I loved Paige. She had it rough because her sister Ariel was a bitch her father was a complete failure as a father and a boss. Jared them both. Dylan took time for me to like him but by the end I was cheering them on. Oh my was it a satisfying conclusion!!!! I love Daisy so I am hoping she gets her own book.
Dylan and Paige had me feeling all the feels. I smiles, laughed, cried a little, got angry on their behalf...just everything! Both characters were so well developed and I felt like I was falling in love right along with them! I can't wait for more of this series!
One More Promise is book two in the Band on the Run series, and it is Dylan and Paige's story.
We first met Dylan in One More Kiss, and I have wanted to read his story ever since! As this book begins, Dylan has just been released from rehab, and he is trying to accomplish two things-stay sober and rebuild his life. His first step in this process involves successfully completing community service.
Paige works for her family's PR business, and her current job assignment is to manage and execute a campaign promoting literacy. As usual, her overbearing (and lazy) sister, Ariel, steps in and takes over forcing her ideas on Paige. It is Ariel's decision that ultimately bring the sexy rock n roll god Dylan into Paige's life, and what starts off as a "babysitting" role quickly turns into something much more!
I fell in love with this series after reading book one, and this book only made me love it more! I thought Dylan and Paige were both great characters, and I loved the way they balanced each other out, and, of course, I loved catching up with the entire Shaughnessy gang! Julian's story is up next, and I will be counting down the days until it's release!
This book hooked me right from the beginning! This story had all the elements I want in a love story – heart, passion, emotion, humor and plenty of sexy moments. There are twists and turns along the way that kept things interesting. The storyline was well developed and I didn’t want it to end. It is a beautifully written love story! I definitely recommend reading this book!
