The opening of the book, we are introduced to Amber.
Amber can hear some sort o drumming sound, but, she doesn't know where its coming from as she is wrapped in complete darkness, wrapped in a thick blanket.
She knew she had been doped. But, had she been raped?
She is not the only girl that goes missing; the connection through each girl later becomes apparent and the author makes us aware of this at the time.
The pacing of this thriller is at the correct pace for a story like this at it allows the reader to digest the full impact of each event, each sentence and each chapter.
Robyn who take the lead role in the detective side is a passionate woman on a mission.
I thought at times she had a witty way about her when speaking about things other than #the case#
The investigation side of it was very informative, I could see how the author had done lots of research the make this fictional story stand out and believed.
I really enjoyed the book, I also enjoyed reading the information from the author at the back of the book explaining how she came by the subject matter.
It was definitely full of anticipation and had me fixed and foxed right until the end which left my jaw dropping with mixed emotions toward the reasons for these crimes.

This series just keeps getting better!! I love Robyn, what a fantastic character. And that ending - OMG I need the next book now!! When on a drugs bust the team find a body in a chest... this leads them on a twisted and complex journey to discover the murder and stop any more girls going missing. With it getting personal for Robyn she does everything she can to stop these murders. Highly recommend this book and the series to anybody who love a good story - one that you can't guess the ending of. A big thank you to Net Galley and Bookouture for an advance copy of this book to read, enjoy and review

This series keeps getting better and better. An easy 5 star from me.
A badly decomposed girls body is found in a trunk in a storage unit, after the unit intilly being searched in a drug bust.
Detective Robyn Carter and her team are brought in to investigate. The only clue they have is a mysterious woman dressed in blue who rented the unit and dropped off the trunk.
As the investigation ensues, there are little or no clues to what happened. That is until another girls body turns up. Having some similar cut wounds to the first victim, Robyn is convinced she has a serial killer on her hands but her superiors aren't so sure.
As another girl goes missing, this one someone Robyn knows, she faces a race against time to find this elusive serial killer as she tries to find a motive to the obvious pattern.
So after reading the first two in the series, I was really looking forward to reading this one. So much so I feared I may have built myself up for disappointment. Fear not though, this was everything I hoped for and more. A fantastic story based around bullying and revenge. Robyn and her team are now well established characters and are a joy to spend time with as ever. The book is very methodical with its storytelling and you really do feel part of an investigation.
The story itself is very strong and very well told, with just the right amount of red herrings to keep it believable. This series is just so readable. There's a flow to the writing and storytelling that's just a joy to read. A mixture of strong rounded characters, a great story and a story well told. There's quite a big cast of characters and unlike with other books, I didn't need to read back at any stage to refresh my memory of th character. I knew them all when they came back into the book. Vivid well written characters.
There's a little surprise towards the end of the book which some may be a bit iffy about but I loved it and sets up even more intruige for the rest of the series.
I don't have anything negative to say about this book. I just loved it from start to finish and felt thoroughly satisfied when I finished it.

The author chooses to address a topic that is very much in the forefront in today’s society, and one that should be given more attention. I have read the first two books in this series and loved them, so now plan to read the remaining three books in the series.

This is the third book in Wyer’s Robyn Carter series, I absolutely loved the first two books, Little Girl Lost and Secrets of the Dead and I think it’s safe to say this is my favorite book thus far. It’s clear to me that this is the type of series that gets better with each book, this is right up there with two of my other beloved Bookouture series, Robert Bryndza’s Erika Foster and Angela Marsons Kim Stone. If by chance you’re a fan of those two and haven’t read this I highly recommend doing so!
Per usual this opens with a gripping prologue that instantly grabs your attention, a young girl wakes up disoriented and terribly scared and is quickly aware she’s in grave danger when she realizes she’s being held captive by a deranged individual. Throughout the book there are several chapters from the young girls who are being captured and killed that were chilling and menacing and brought that sense of darkness and danger to the story.
It was so great to catch up with Robyn and her team again, she has a new supervisor now, Flint and it’s been a huge adjustment for her. The rest of the team are still intact and they’re all really growing on me, I still have a soft spot for Anna and Matt and Mitz is a really lovely man. Wyer delves even deeper into Robyn’s past, especially her relationship with Davies which is so nice as it shows her softer side and just adds to the solid characterization that’s already been established. There’s also more detailing her relationship with Davies daughter, Amelie and I love their special bond.
Once again there is the same intricate plotting and meticulous attention to detail here, there were so many various threads that I had no clue how they would all eventually tie together. There was an onslaught of twists and turns as Robyn raced to catch a killer before he could strike again and the pacing is relentless and breathless. This hit on some very current issues with a cyber bullying angle that is every parents worst nightmare, it is insanely important to monitor teenagers social media usage.
This was already a five star read for me before the last chapter and then Wyer threw a gigantic curveball that knocked everything on it’s head. While everything with the current case was wrapped up nicely things in Robyn’s personal life were sent into a complete tailspin, talk about one hell of a cliffhanger ending!! I am desperate to get my hands on book four now and cannot wait to see what happens next.

I lost my reading mojo this week and picked up two books unfortunately neither of them gripped me and I put them to one side. So as I loved the previous two books in the Detective Robyn Carter series I decided to read The Missing Girls. Although I wasn’t even sure if Carol Wyer could help me find my missing mojo (huge apologies to the author for doubting her) but OMG after reading one very disturbing and chilling chapter I was hooked, so after I kicking myself a few times for not reading this book before now I literally dived in and I wouldn’t have put The Missing Girls down for love or money.
I’m not going to go to rehash the plot details as all you need to know is in the book description, but I will say it’s a hell of a read and a gripping one to boot.
Carol Wyer writes in such away you feel you are there amid the investigation from the pathologist investigation where you learn more about the forensics to DI Robyn Carter and her team piecing the pieces of an intricate puzzle together, you can’t but help but look for clues alongside the team. By becoming so involved in the plot I felt a sense of urgency to find the answers before another girl went missing.
DI Robyn Carter is part of the reason I love this series so much, unlike many fictionally Detectives she’s relatively normal and not your typical stereotype she’s not brash and reckless, doesn’t appear to personality problems, or constantly have issues with her superiors, but all the same she’s an intriguing character. Very much like a real life investigation The Missing Girls is fast paced, with plenty to keep the reader engaged. The chapters told from The Missing Girls sent shivers down my spine, there is a constant undertone of foreboding that radiates from these pages, you sense their fear, distress and confusion as their captor toils with them.
Carol Wyers writing goes from strength to strength as does the DI Robyn Carter series. So many crime book series start off so well, but loose there way after the first couple of books, but that’s not the case here in fact each book in this series leaves you desperate for more, especially this one but I’m not going to say why and spoil the read for others. The Missing Girls is a crime thriller that will keep you reading long into the night, as I pretty much found I just had to read “one my chapter” and a dozen chapters later I was still reading. It sounds cliched but this is undoubtedly the best book in the series yet, and a crime book/series I would highly recommend.

This is book three of five in the DI Robyn Carter series. She is known for following her gut instincts but she gets very little support from her new DCI.
She is still grieving from a personal loss and in this instalment she was definitely not on her game. At times it felt like she was many steps behind the perpetrator.
This book was about a devastating tragedy in one family, it was to do with cyber bullying. The question is how far would you go when someone’s words have had a detrimental impact on your family? What would you do about it? Would you seek your own form of justice?….
There are a few red herrings and coincidences, Robyn who loves to treat each case like a puzzle 🧩 struggles to see all the pieces.
A body of a young girl barely a woman is accidentally found while a team is on a different shout. It then becomes Robyn’s case. Now, Robyn will have to pull out all the stops in order to prevent the next victim turning up.
Towards the end is a nail biting rush to save someone’s life will Robyn manage to prevent the bodies from piling up?…
There is a twist at the end, what does it mean?…

I really enjoy the DI Robyn Carter series, l think each book has got better and better as her character developed. As soon as I found out there was a third book in the series I could not wait to read it.
The opening chapter begins with school girl Amber Dalton waking up in a dark room containing nothing but a mattress, wearing just a hospital gown. As she felt around the room looking for the door a man appeared from the corner of the room wearing night vision goggles. He said 'it's too late Amber, you are mine now'.
Wow, what an introduction to a story. During a drugs raid at a storage unit the body of a schoolgirl is found hidden in a trunk. The body belonged to Carrie Miller who left home 6 months previously after a row. It appeared the trunk was taken to the unit by a woman called Joanne Hutcheson. When the police checked Carrie's computer they found she had been talking to Amber Dalton and Siobhan Connors. When the dead body of Amber is found the race is on to find Siobhan. What is the connection between Carrie and Amber?
My only disappointment was Robyn's cousin Ross did not help in her investigation as in the previous books. Carol mentioned she may write a book featuring Ross in his own story which I would enjoy. I was pleased to see the budding relationship between unlucky in love DS Mitz Patel and PC Anna Shamash. Robyn's rival DI Shearer showed a softer side in this book and maybe he is as lonely as Robyn, it would be interesting if they got closer in the next book.
The Missing Girls was a gripping read with plenty of red herrings. I was so engrossed in the story the time just slipped by. The end of the story had a brilliant cliff hanger ensuring Robyn won't be leaving us want time soon.
I really enjoy the DI Robyn Carter series, l think each book has got better and better as her character developed. As soon as I found out there was a third book in the series I could not wait to read it.
The opening chapter begins with school girl Amber Dalton waking up in a dark room containing nothing but a mattress, wearing just a hospital gown. As she felt around the room looking for the door a man appeared from the corner of the room wearing night vision goggles. He said 'it's too late Amber, you are mine now'.
Wow, what an introduction to a story. During a drugs raid at a storage unit the body of a schoolgirl is found hidden in a trunk. The body belonged to Carrie Miller who left home 6 months previously after a row. It appeared the trunk was taken to the unit by a woman called Joanne Hutcheson. When the police checked Carrie's computer they found she had been talking to Amber Dalton and Siobhan Connors. When the dead body of Amber is found the race is on to find Siobhan. What is the connection between Carrie and Amber?
My only disappointment was Robyn's cousin Ross did not help in her investigation as in the previous books. Carol mentioned she may write a book featuring Ross in his own story which I would enjoy. I was pleased to see the budding relationship between unlucky in love DS Mitz Patel and PC Anna Shamash. Robyn's rival DI Shearer showed a softer side in this book and maybe he is as lonely as Robyn, it would be interesting if they got closer in the next book.
The Missing Girls was a gripping read with plenty of red herrings. I was so engrossed in the story the time just slipped by. The end of the story had a brilliant cliff hanger ensuring Robyn won't be leaving us want time soon.

I was going to give this 3 stars, but there was an unexpected twist at the end and that made me very happy, so it gets an extra half star.
Pros: Solid police procedural mystery. I liked how sometimes, just the results of small details of the investigation were revealed rather than having us experience each officer hunting someone down and questioning them, etc. It was nice just to find out the result, which was another clue to solving the mystery but not integral enough to take up multiple pages. I also was pleased with the ultimate resolution.
Cons: I dislike the writing approach where the reader knows more about what is going on than the characters do. It is super frustrating to know that Florence is in danger, know why, and generally know that it has to be connected to the missing girls, yet the police are spinning their wheels and have no idea. I get that it's to create tension in the novel, but it totally annoys me as a reader.

The Missing Girls finds DI Robyn Carter on the trail of a killer yet again when a stakeout that was meant to lead to a drug bust turned up a the body of a teenage girl instead. she is left with few leads and too many unanswered questions when the body of another girl is discovered. The pressure is on to find the killer, and Robyn needs to solve these murders in a hurry because someone she cares about is missing—and time is running out.
What I Liked
I loved the second book in this series, Secrets of the Dead, so I had high expectations for The Missing Girls. I wanted a chilling crime spree committed by a villain whose identity I would be completely unable to figure out before the Big Reveal came, and Wyer definitely pulled that off. That chilling crime spree I hoped for took on an even more distressing note when the motive behind it was revealed, because it was the sort of thing that felt like it could easily happen in real life.
I also wanted to learn more about Robyn Carter, herself—particularly concerning her memories of her dead fiancé, Davies Hilton, and her struggle to deal with his loss.
An unexpected twist at the end of the book completely surprised me; I finished this one some time ago, and I am still blown away by it!
What I Didn't Like
As much as I loved the cliffhanger ending, I didn't like having to wait for the next installment of the series. (Okay... I know that barely counts as a dislike, but it's the best I could come up with for this section of my review.)
Final Thoughts
The Missing Girls is an intense thrill ride that's the very definition of unputdownable. With a series of crimes made all the more frightening due to the believability of the motive behind them, the villain in this novel will be hard to forget. The surprise bombshell at the end of the book is destined to take your breath away and have you rushing on to book four as quickly as possible.
If you haven't started reading the DI Robyn Carter books, you seriously need to get on board with this series, because hours of entertainment await you!

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this was. I hesitated to request this because it's the 3rd book in the series. I'm so glad that I took a chance! And, being as it's the 3rd book and I haven't read the others, it could be read as a standalone.
Parts of the story were told from the victims voice during their captivity and the other parts from the lead detective, Robyn. I really liked Robyn. She was a capable detective and a good character to read about. As were the other characters. The plot was interesting and kept me glued to the pages. I didn't find this to be a predictable mystery at all. It's a good book when you set it down but can't wait to pick it up again. I know for a fact I'll be checking out the first 2 books!

I have read all of the books in this series now and loved each of them – this one is tense and it really does keep you on your toes, I loved the characters from the first two books and I love how the relationships are building and developing. The writing style is brilliant as always and having got to the end of the book much too quickly for my liking I now need to know ASAP what is going to happen and what Carol has planned for Robyn!! She leaves you on a real cliff-hanger!!!

This was goood. A dead girl is accidentally found in a trunk in a storage depot. The investigation focuses on the woman dressed in blue who delivered the trunk but she is proving difficult to track down. More bodies turn up and DI Robyn Carter has a serial killer on her hands. This was a lovely twisty story that had me guessing. The identity of the killer was quite a surprise although towards the end I started to figure out where this was going.
The characters continue to be developed but to throw in another twist, Robyn comes across something that throws doubt on the official version of Davies' (her fiancé) death. The plot thickens and to be continued...

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I have a lot of love for the DI Robyn Carter series. When Little Girl Lost was released at the beginning of the year, I was blown away when I realized that it was Carol Wyer’s first attempt at writing a thriller. She writes as though she has many years of experience in the thriller genre. Secrets Of The Dead proved to be another great follow up in the series, and Carol Wyer has become an author I will automatically read. If you haven’t had the pleasure of interacting with Carol yet, I suggest that you connect with her on social media, she is so kind!

One thing I want to point out is that each book can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the series in order to get Robyn’s full backstory.
The Missing Girls is my favorite book in the series so far! The story is about bullying and how harmful it can be to all those involved. Carol Wyer creates these stories that are relevant and entirely plausible, which makes them that much more terrifying. I love Robyn Carter’s character and how she will do anything to find justice for the victims and catch the killer. I admire her devotion to her job and the loyalty of her team.
The Missing Girls is full of twists and turns the entire way through. I thought I had figured out who the killer was halfway through the book, but wow was I wrong! Carol Wyer throws a curve ball with that ending that I did not see coming! I’m looking forward to continuing the series with book four in December.

Goodness gracious me, this series just keeps getting better and better!
The third instalment in the DI Robyn Carter series starts off with a truly gut-wrenching and harrowing chapter. Just like that, I knew I was in for another treat.
When DI Shearer is given a tip about drugs stashed away in a storage unit, things don’t quite go as planned. There are no drugs. There is however a trunk with the body of a young woman inside. CCTV footage reveals very little and the woman who left the trunk in the unit is proving hard to find. And then another girl goes missing. Are these disappearances connected and if so, how?
I truly adore Robyn and her team. There’s fun banter, they don’t seem to waste time on petty rivalries and even DI Tom Shearer was almost likeable. I wonder how long he can keep it up! Things aren’t all rosy at the station though, with a new chief in town who’s a bit harder to win over than his predecessor and Robyn must fight and come up with a lot more than pure instinct to convince the new boss that she’s on the right path.
The investigation into the missing girls is incredibly scary as it’s highly realistic and believable in this day and age. But that’s all I’ll say about that because I don’t want to give anything away. In an odd sort of way, I could almost sympathise with the killer. Their reasons for doing what they’re doing are really rather heartbreaking. Suffice to say the brilliantly executed plot is disturbing and tense, truly gripping and compelling. And it makes me wish I had more of an idea about what my thirteen year old niece gets up so she stays safe.
And then! I don’t normally make a habit of mentioning the ending. But holy cow, the ending! Talk about being utterly sucker-punched! I was so blown away, I almost thought the world tilted off its axis! This is how you make sure the reader comes back for more!
Carol Wyer strikes again and continues to up her game. As this series goes from strength to strength, I can hardly wait to get my grabby hands on book four! Did I mention that ending?!

Detective Robyn Carter is back with a bang in another thriller. The formula remain the same girls missing+ found dead +torture and cuts on body =serial killer and police investigation.
The author Carol Wyer has written an action packed twisted tale with Detective Robyn Carter at the helm. This is the third book in the series. There is a strength and conviction in Carol's writing, and she seems to grow more with every book.
Detective Robyn too grows with the book. There is self assurednes and an aura of confidence about her. She is as clever as she was in the first book. I like the fact that Robyn's personal life is also told to us and it is nice to read about the woman she is at home. The plot may appear same but the treatment given definitely isn't.
Carol has packed this fast paced thriller with enough twists, forensics and good team of investigators that it leaves us asking for more. A great thriller.

This is the third novel already where DI Robyn Carter investigates a case, and now I’m more certain than ever that this is a series to follow with each new book she publishes. I liked the second novel but I do feel this one’s stronger, with a very good plotline and a real motive. She scores high points in my books! Robyn and her team, Mitz and Anna, Ross and even Shearer are also all really starting to grow on me and it was a warm welcome to see them back.
I’m not going into the plot because there really isn’t much to share except that it’s all a big mystery, you don’t know who and you don’t know why and Robyn really doesn’t have a lot to go on. It’ll take great skill to get on the right path that will give her an inkling of who it is and until the motive slowly and carefully comes into the picture, but skill is something Robyn (and the author) possesses in oodles.
A few details that I want to highlight this time which makes me really love this series and this novel so much: I like how fully detailed Robyn and the pathologist’s findings are described. Some people don’t enjoy descriptions like this but I do, it’s like standing next to a body yourself at that moment, experiencing everything in that moment at the same time as the detective and it satisfies that need that I’m feeling to know and learn more about what fascinates me. I also really enjoy Robyn’s personality in general and I continue to admire and like how she goes through the investigation step by step, the way that Robyn keeps control of all the different leads she’s working on. She makes it very organised by using post-its, by the way she talks about it, by recapitulating her findings from time to time and that works really great to keep up myself and get a clear image of it in my head as well where we’re at, even if it’s nowhere at that time. I appreciate this writing, keeping it a steady pace and never letting the investigation run in chaos, all over the place. She’s gently leading me towards a motive, a person who might be responsible for all this. It’s like a mist before my eyes and she makes the sky clear up gently and slowly.
She didn’t let me down, there were a few unexpected twists and turns while I was racing towards the big reveal of the killer’s identity but it wasn’t that which made me audibly gasp, it was another sort of twist and turn that got me even more excited than unmasking the killer this time. The ending leaves much to the imagination and I’m very impatient to see what’ll happen next. What a great move, and also what a tease! I can’t wait for book nr. 4!

I downloaded this book from Netgalley some time ago but due to commitments I had to shelve it half way through. Maybe it is the gap, maybe it is because I have read so many astounding books this year but I felt this one didn’t quite give me the buzz I was hoping for.
Robyn is a well defined character who has developed over the course of the series. All the characters are robust and work well some we like and some we don’t so there is a realistic mix of people.
The story progresses at a steady pace. Unfortunately I worked out the unsub quite early on so the 'unexpected twist' was not forthcoming. That said it is a good read that will appeal to readers of crime fiction and police procedurals.

Robyn is a well defined character who has developed over the course of the series. All the characters are robust and work well some we like and some we don’t so there is a realistic mix of people.
The story progresses at a steady pace. Unfortunately I worked out the unsub quite early on so the 'unexpected twist' was not forthcoming. That said it is a good read that will appeal to readers of crime fiction and police procedurals.

For those that follow my reviews they may recall that I wasn't a great fan of this series in the early days, however I'm pleased to say that I am so glad I stuck with it as I feel invested in the main characters now. This third instalment is definitely the best yet and based on the final two chapters I cannot wait for number four!
I'd like to see Robyn & Tom Shearer work a case together, or perhaps have Robyn confide in him regarding her personal shock revelation that has just been dropped on her... would he want to help her? Judging by the increasing positive interactions seen throughout The Missing Girls I think his feelings will be conflicted (of course, this is all hypothetical!)
I'll definitely be recommending this series now to fellow crime fans!

I love it when you finish and book and immediately pine for the next one and this was one of those books. I had read the first two books in this series and loved them so started this book with fingers crossed that it would be as good as the last two. I need not have worried in just a chapter in and I knew it would be a brilliant read. The thing I love most about these books is that you almost feel like you are part of the team, you get pulled head first into the story and exit with a serious book hang over. The story flows so beautifully and easily and there’s a few little things thrown in there to mislead you and keep you on your toes.
A little girls body is found in a trunk and the only lead is a woman in blue that rented the storage locker and dropped off the trunk. Soon another body with some similarities turns up leading Robyn to think that it is the work of a serial killer but not everyone is as convinced as she is.
And the ending of this story is just a complete sucker punch and you just don’t see it coming at all and all is nicely lined up for the next book….which I really really want to read RIGHT NOW!!!!

We are back with Robyn Carter and the team and I feel like this series is building in pace and couldn't wait to get started on this new one. A body of a girl, 16-year-old Carrie Miller is found in a trunk and Robyn and the team are working on the case. We see the return of the cracking characters that form part of the team such as Mitz and Anna, as well as a somewhat more likeable DI Tom Shearer. Robyn's new boss Flint however is not somebody that has gelled well and it's not going to be easy for Robyn.
The story itself was pacey and we see the team work their investigative magic. Alongside the team working their case, we once again meet Robyn's cousin Ross who I absolutely love. He is working a case looking for a missing dog and I was thrilled to see him back as he is a character that I love and think works well in this series.
In addition we see Robyn working through her grief after the loss of her fiancé Davies. In addition she still has contact and is forming a relationship with Davies daughter Amelie. I really liked this element of the story as we see how Robyn is coping and her thought process. The plot for the murder of Carrie Miller weaves its way throughout the book adding lots of layers and as the bodies add up, so does the stress put on Robyn and the team. I loved this latest book and as for the ending...well it was a cracking one! People are saying it's a cliffhanger, but I disagree. It's just an absolutely first class opening for the next book and I cannot wait to see what happens. Another brilliant read for this new book by Carol Wyer and I loved it from start to finish, roll on book 4!

Carol Wyer does it again! I love this series - each book in this series is perfection. I started this one wary - how could this author better her absolutely brilliant previous two reads in this series? But that's exactly what she has done! This amazing book delivers on every level: it packs a gut-wrenching punch, there are twists galore and the story blew me away! The characterization is spot on, every single character believable and well rounded, their motives and actions absolutely spot on. This is a book that scared and thrilled in equal measure. Brilliant and unputdownable. An author I hugely admire. I cannot wait for her next book.

Holy Missing Girls Batman by Carol Wyer. Ok, that’s not the real title of the book, but that’s how I felt after I read it. WOW.
They’re back...
DI Robyn Carter and her extraordinary team are back. While pouncing on a self-storage locker during an apparent drug bust, they find a large trunk. They open it believing they will find illegal substances, only to find a dead girl. While they work to uncover the identity of the girl, another goes missing.
DCI Mulholland has moved on, and DI Carter’s new boss is DCI Flint, and he does not believe that the missing person case has anything to do with their dead girl. So what’s a girl to do? Go rogue and investigate it anyway. And it’s a good thing she did. DI Robyn Carter’s spunk and tenacity are what I like the most about her. She follows her hunches and is usually right.
Anna and Mitz are back and cuter than ever. I like how their friendship has blossomed during this book. I enjoy both of their characters immensely.
Sweet, Sweet Ross.
And ROSS. We mustn’t forget Robyn’s sweet, sweet cousin, the PI who will do anything to help her. At the end of the book, Ms. Wyer mentions that many fans have asked about Ross having his own series. I wholeheartedly agree. He would make for a fantastic private investigator series.
Carol Wyer’s The Missing Girls, as usual, is a roller coaster ride with lots of twists and turns. While I did figure out “whodunnit” early on, it still didn’t take away the intrigue surrounding the events that unfolded.
And what a freaking cliff hanger at the end! Please tell me you will continue that storyline, Ms. Carol Wyer. Pretty Please. With cherries on top.
As with all of Carol Wyer’s books I’ve read, The Missing Girls is five no-brainer stars for me. I simply can’t wait for the next installment. Same bat time, same bat channel.

Another solid read featuring Robyn Carter and her team trying to catch a serial killer, someone who may be using social media to hunt for their next victims. This third book in the series carries on the rivalry from the first two books between DI Carter and DI Tom Shearer. Shearer is his usual arrogant self, jumping on the good drug busts and leaving Carter to handle the annoying and unsavoury discovery of a body wrapped in plastic. Their new DCI Richard Flint is no fan of Carter’s investigative skills or her gut instincts. Fortunate for Carter,she has an unshakeable team helping her hunt down clues and knock on doors. Carter still has some ghosts which haunt her and ones she may have to face in the future if the final chapter is an indicator.
Carol Wyer has successfully made the leap from Chick Lit to the Mystery/Thriller genre with this series. The pacing is sound and the plot keeps you speculating as you follow the thin leads dug up by the detectives.There are occasional leaps of faith to move the case forward but they take nothing away from the reader's enjoyment. I enjoyed the twists and turns in this one and look forward to more DI Robyn Carter books in the future.

This is the 3rd book in the DI Robyn Carter series. I have read and enjoyed all 3 books. But this one started out slow for me and it was over halfway through the book before I got into it. I was also getting irked by the mundane references to the dead fiancee. Made sure she ate and got her to use post-it notes, really? All in all, the writing was good and the story was interesting with a twist. It also left quite a cliffhanger so I guess I will be reading the next book too.

I was really eager to read the third book in the Robyn Carter series. I love her character and this latest investigation. I enjoyed every page and couldn't wait to read more and find out how they were going to find this killer.
You can just imagine yourself in the police investigation, looking at all the coloured post it notes- wondering what connections will be found and looking for clues with each suspect. At one point I was certain it was going to be one suspect- but we are led into other avenues and more chilling evidence comes into play. You are desperate for them to find the missing girls and for them to find out how the cases are linked.
Carol E Wyer produces the most spine tingling suspense- willing you to read just one more page even though you should be turning the lights off to get some sleep. How could you leave them in the middle of the case!

This is the third book in the DI Robyn Carter series and it couldn't have been any better than it was!
This was such a fantastic book and Carol deserves so much credit for her amazing writing! This is one of my absolute favorite series and I cannot get enough!! After reading this I am even more pumped for the fourth installment coming in December!!!!
The books starts with a gripping beginning that pulls you in so far that you know that you cant back out and stop reading anytime soon! A girl wakes up and realizes that she isn't where she last remembered being but she is being held by a deranged psychopath who has left her with nothing but a mattress and very little light. This continues with several other girls that have done something that the captor doesn't agree with in any capacity. So the captor is determined to make these girls pay for what they have done.
With the many threads that are hard to understand where they will all intersect and weave together you cant help but keep reading in order to see what is happening. Yes you will grab the edge of whatever you are sitting on because it is that gripping of a tale that they girls go on, along with the intricate details along the way!
This book hit such a hard place for anyone to deal with whether you are the person being bullied or someone that you know is being bullied whether it is online or in person. Online is always such a hard thing to deal with because people get bold behind a keyboard because they don't have to deal with the person in real life. This book hit this issue head on with a vengeance! SO many things can come of cyber bullying and this is one of the hardest things to deal with because you never know who is behind a computer or a phone.
Carol took a very hard issue that is such a huge thing within the world right now especially younger kids that aren't as well equipped to handle the harsh realities that are out there and she smashed it out of the park. It bears a warning to watch what you do online and especially how to conduct yourself at all times. She made this book into something I never dreamed would be as amazing as it was!
Just as the book ties up some loose ends DI Robyn Carters life not only takes a small dip but goes into a full tailspin and takes a huge turn!
I absolutely cannot wait to start on the fourth book in the series to see what happens in DI Robyn Carters life!!
I have such a love for all things Carol Wyer and I absolutely LOVE Carol!! She not only has an amazing talent to writing but she is one of the most absolute sweetest people I have loved getting to know!!!

The Missing Girls is the third novel in the D.I Robyn Carter Series and it’s the best one yet. It starts with Amber Dalton waking up with a throbbing head. In a dark empty room apart from a mattress she is lying on and wearing something unfamiliar and rough material. The last thing she remembered she was wearing her pleated black skirt and silk blouse. She moves and feels around the room to find a door and then she realises that someone is in the room with her. There is a piercing light comes from a man wearing a night vision goggles and with a torch who threatened her with a knife. Amber is so scared she wets herself. The man says that he should rub her nose in it. She wants to go home but he says “it’s too late you’re mine now”.
DI Robyn Carter and her team are on a drugs raid at a self-storage unit, when they come across a chest. Where they find a decomposed body of a young woman in it. Wow, what a book. It gripped me throughout. It was intense, gruesome in parts and the author was very good at keeping you hooked from the start to the end. I liked how the story showed the ups and downs in the police investigation. It made the story more believable, the in-depth story of each character and I thought it was very up to date in the world in the way that, the story included a phone app and the subject of cyber bullying.
I also liked the little teaser at the end of what going to happen in the next instalment in the DI Rob Roby Carter Series. Can’t wait.
