The sci-fi shelves are bursting with obnoxious alternate realities, but what if our own world was revealed to be among the worst of them?
If you shared shiftless film critic Douglass Infantino’s caustic view of late capitalism, you'd probably take heart from the discovery—until you realized that you’d have to erase yourself from the continuity in order to put things right again. Is Douglass noble enough to make the ultimate sacrifice? Time travel giveth, and time travel fucketh things up.
This novel felt like one of the most real takes on how someone would interact with time travel technology. Full of flawed plans and emotion driven decisions, it made for a thought provoking read. Plus 1930's Hollywood as the story backdrop was a setting you don't often see in this sort of tale. Made for a great read.
Although there were some quirks in the writing style that I found a little odd at first (characters who speak in a parenthesis??) by the end of the book, I found them cute, and I was disappointed that the book was already finished. I couldn't put it down, and was done in 2 days!
