A sweeping saga of love denied and dreams deferred, in the tradition of The Thornbirds.

Glenna McDoweil is a successful internist married to a man who dotes on her. Her present life is far better than her childhood, having been raised in a convent and adopted by a cruel foster family. Unlocking the secret of her parents' identities, and why their love was forbidden, leads to Glenna's profound personal awakening. In this compelling novel by a natural storyteller three generations of strong, Scottish women are reunited in their hopes for a brighter future.
