Disappointed

I've read ALL of the books in the series. First was unquestionably the best, solid 3 from my perspective. The mixture of SciFi, Mil and paranormal was interesting and author made it work, more or less.

The second was not as good, IMO, but author introduced a new, unique character (ship which is not uncommon in SciFi) and didn't do much with it, especially in book 3. That was very disappointing.

I don't enjoy any story, book where MC is a Superhero and the second used that character type more, whereas 1 was more credible (?). So didn't enjoy second as much reading about the Wolverine, Superman MC.

Was hoping that author, series got back on track w book 1 and feel ambushed with this one. The SEXUAL OVER/UNDER tones was major focus throughout and character, action took a back seat. This read too much like a male teenager fantasy.

There's so many examples and not in mood to write Cliff Notes on Zeta. Did I say teenager? I'm a little long on my teeth but I'd love to be on a small spaceship w four, dead gorgeous women and my main 'squeeze ' kinda telling me it's okay to mess around w the others because she knows I only love her..... ? Good grief, not what I signed up for thinking mil SciFi genre read.

Of the books I have read about space weretiger men this is without a doubt among the best.

I love that this book and series exists. After reading Bigfoot Hunters I thought I'd never be able to top that in terms of "I can't believe someone wrote this.". Even more surprising was that, unlike Bigfoot Hunters, it's actually not bad at all. First one was even good and this third book in the series is actually pretty great.

What makes this book better is that the plot is much more focused. The characters have clear objectives where in the previous books they had more vague general goals without a clear path to reaching them. In a way this is a simpler book but a better one for it; as the simpler story provided more opportunity for fun and character development. Which is what really makes these worth reading.

If your looking for Space Paranormal adventure about a Weretiger Space Marine and his growing harem of strange but actually interesting crew of space chicks, my friend you are in luck. If your not looking for that, well you should be. It's extremely entertaining.

I liked all three of these books, no matter how preposterous it is that a weretiger could attract a crew for his (sentient?) ship of nothing but beautiful women all who desire him. This is not fine literature, but good escapist reading, or man lit if you will.

Some editing mistakes, but nothing that really detracted from the story. Most errors are probably caused by revisions and rewrites, more so than shoddy writing.

This author's space opera reminds me a lot of Bill Baldwin's Helmsman series.

Little more descriptive sex in this one and lots of violence, definitely not for minors or the ultra-conservative.

I hope there are more books in this series as I would like to see where Adam, the ladies and the ship go next. Maybe the crew will run into more soldiers like Adam and Eve. I would love to see someone like Adam, but instead of another weretiger maybe a weresabertooth or a wereliger.

This book really dragged for me.

This series seems to set things up but never once touch on anything that was laid out. I get that the author is trying to write a space odyssey series but it feels like it's missing something to capture that feeling of a spectacular adventure. The whole narrative feels so confusing and weirdly rushed, yet the pacing of the book feels slow. Hmph! The story of the series so far seems to have no end goal/no goal to achieve instead it focuses on the here and now of the characters, and what makes this structure unappealing is the way the author writes the events that happens in each book forcing the MCs to act. To me, I just don't get it especially with how each book ends. The story just feels out of control and all over the place. This is especially true for this book. Things seem to happen randomly and the characters are always at the wrong place at the wrong time. There is no rhyme or reason for anything, it just feels like things happen because drama. Adam is also a let down in this book.

Minor plot spoilers

Minor character spoilers

A bit of a clichéd beginning to the book, within seconds of getting their hands on some credits they find themselves in the middle of a bank hold-up. I had hoped the author would have matured just a bit, but unfortunately the story seemed to be just as frantic as in the first two books, with them moving from one disaster to the next.

The main part of the book starts with Alex and Z being blackmailed into trying to infiltrate a group of criminal organisations. The infiltration part isn’t particularly well written and to be honest is fairly boring, then everything goes frenetic again. The defence of the space station is certainly exciting, but yet another fight against overwhelming odds and the last minute action that saves the day can be over done.

I just wish the author would stop making the plot disaster driven and actually allow them to develop some sort of plan that they can implement, with at least some success. As for the ridiculous teenage romance/sex fantasy, please just forget it.

If it seems I am being over critical, it’s because right from book one I thought this is a great group of characters but at the moment they are not realising their potential. I would have given the book 2.5 stars if this was possible.

Zeta Hack is a fun book that's part space story and part period gangster adventure. The story is fast moving and often funny. Nothing to take too seriously, but what would you expect with a book that features a man who morphs into a tiger man anyway? While the book is better if you read the whole series, but this book should work just fine as a stand alone adventure.

Contains violence, language, and some sexual situations (but no actual sex).

I received an ARC copy from the author. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Adam, Eve and Z arrive at the Queen's Hat Station to buy supplies and maybe hire some crew members to help out on their ship, Persephone. But they get caught up in a station that is besieged by corrupt cops, and lots of gangs. So Adam decides the only thing to do is to go undercover and try outwit one of the gang lords. Little does he know that another force is going to arrive at the station making things very difficult for him and his little crew.

Nevermind my previous idea that these are a modern John Carter series. This is the novelization of a harem anime. Not literally, the anime doesn't exist, but it fits the mold. The author should really try to find some artists to make an anime. Yet again, this isn't high culture, it's having fun without thinking about the consequences. I like it and know well enough that I should feel ashamed of myself for it, but I'm not really ashamed of it. Make what you will of that. On to book four!

A crews encounters and adventures

I loved this story the characters and action scenes were entertaining. The plots filled with intrigue had me riveted to the story. I can't say enough about the author's unique use of each character development and their final commitment to universal help & care. I look forward to many more adventures. I highly recommend this one's a keeper folks.😇😊

One adventure per book? Or planet?

I like the saving innocent people from corrupt governments. The characters are growing and becoming like a family and I like that although all the women are attracted to the Captain.. he has mostly tried to figure out his feelings first before pursuing any of them.. and it’s getting more complicated as more crew members of the female gender are added. I love Eve, I want to know more about her.. now she is called a witch.. and Z the hacker with a brain port..and Adam Captain Tiggggger. It’s a inside joke if you’ve read it you will get it. I wasn’t sure that they were going to be able to help Queen’s Station.. seemed like everyone was trying to take them for a ride but the ending was awesome.. “We like to party.. we like to 🎉 “<—Song in my head and dancing lol. Persephone the ship.. seems able to talk to Eve but more of her secrets are unraveling.. onto the next Episode.. of Star Justice 4!

Saving Eve with Z

I'm really into this series. It has humor, action, and romance. In this story Adam kills a bunch of bank robbers for trying to rob them, but mostly for hitting Z. Captured by the police, Commander Juliette impresses Adam and Z into helping her catch slavers. Eve is kept in jail to insure Adam's compliance. This book examines the developing relationship with Adam and Z. Along the way, they collect a pair of twin engineers and get a line on a pilot. What is going to happen with all the beautiful women they have collected? How will Adam and Eve work out the inclusion of Z in their relationship? Will Adam learn how to communicate more effectively with Persephone? I really like this book and anxiously await the next book.

Wow! Adam, Eve and Z are back again and have jumped out of the firing pan and into the fire. They arrive at the Queen's Hat space station to buy supplies and find some crewmen but, before they know it, they are in deep doodoo! For a station that has as ban on guns, rifles and other weaponry there are sure a lot of people carrying them. Adam, Eve and Z happen to be in a bank when it is robbed, by gun carrying bandits. Of course Adam has to defend his women and thereby runs foul of the law; because you're not allowed to kill anyone in self defense on the station. After this there is gore and more gore as Adam tries to get Eve out of gaol. These books are fast paced space opera at its finest. Next up the twins.

Man-Kzin Wars joins Heinlein--Children of RAH?

I could have pondered this for many years and not come up with this combo!!! Thank you sir for striking a very tender chord in my heart. I was appalled to hear of the loss of Amazon's support. Please don't hesitate to ask for any help that I might offer. Now I am off to follow your instructions to keep up with you and your wonderful cast of characters.

The Awesome story continues

Zeta Hack was even better than the first two books as we got to see Z's character grow in terms of her relationship with Adam. While the second book Space Witch, had a western vibe to it, this one had more of a gangster setting and atmosphere. The action was intense and violent, while there was even more character development than the last two books. I'm hoping that there will be at least another male crew member joining the team like what if he's the cook or maybe he could be a combat medic.

Great plot...great pacing...fun characters...what else do you expect it's an Earle book?.. And he hasn't disappointed yet on that measure...more importantly I'm just glad he didn't Ship sink...I almost pulled out within the first ten minutes of reading because I'd thought he did and I'm glad I held on...since he didn't...Phew!

Very satisfying

Thank you for another amazing read. Can't help thinking that the growing coterie of female crew along with Adam are going to become the disruptive changers in this Corporate greed bound universe and I'm looking forward to the team giving them a serious drubbing.
Awaiting eagerly the next story.

Great Classic "Lost Ship" Exploration/Military Space Opera!

Adam, Eve and Z meet new people, have a few problems, upset a corrupt corporation, defeat another corrupt corporation, save thousands of lives, free teen sex-slaves, and get shot repeatedly. But they do seem to have Fun!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AS BOTH AN INDIVIDUAL BOOK AND AS A SERIES...TRADITIONAL SPACE OPERA!

Space opera fun

Third book in the series, the crew is getting larger. If you like gangsters, smugglers, space battles, and gunfights, with a side order of tongue-in-cheek, this is for you. Please read the first two books if you’re interested in their back story, it’s all the same type of action.

Good book

Well, for this adventure was really interesting.
Really liked how Z was the primary girl through the book. The twins were also good to read, buy the cop really hated her. Maybe I will like her in the future books.

As for the next book preview, why do I get the feeling of Firefly’s Miranda planet when the planet’s status is described.

Mr. Earle continues to dazzle.

I stumbled upon the works of Michael-Scott Earle and I have not regretted it yet. I've made my way through the rest of his series and am now reading through the star justice series. This series is just as fantastic as his others. Action packed with a very likeable hero, this is a series for you if you enjoy the space opera genre.

Number 3 was as good as the previous 2

Might degenerate into a male fantasy in. Book 4 or 5, but still a good read. Lots of action. Nice introduction of new characters and good integration of their back stories without bogging down the flow.
