DEMIS IN THE SUN

Summer has finally arrived for Takahashi-sensei and the demis, and they’re determined to make memories despite their challenges. From telling scary stories to finding creative ways to cool off, the girls always have fun in their own way. When Takahashi-sensei gets the chance to reserve the school pool for demis only, he’s able to give them a taste of the normal summer experience they’ve been looking for… but he may not be ready for a new level of sexiness from Satou-sensei! Meanwhile, a new demi appears on the scene. What adventures will she bring?

This is another great volume. This series just gets better and better. I hope my Tetsuo-Sakie ship sails, there is nothing I love more in this series than their budding romance. This also has a great two-parter starring a Zashiki-Warashi (house spirit) and her roommate. This has been an enjoyable read so far.

This volume was very chill like previous volumes. The bonus chapter about Ugaki and Kurtz and the anpan was hilarious.

This series is such a chill read, not just because they spend part of this volume trying to find a way to use a snow woman’s powers to stand in for the a/c in the middle of summer.

One of the things I most appreciate is that it doesn’t (or hasn’t, anyway) turn things to the wildly inappropriate with Takahashi’s relationship with the girls. He cares about them as a teacher and, while some of them clearly nurse schoolgirl crushes (Hikari is fairly hopeless), he has made it plain he has no intention of acting on it.

Thus you’re left with a fairly charming story about the daily lives of teachers and students, some of whom happen to be monsters, including the world’s worst succubus. It’s not a classic, but as these types of stories go, it’s a cut above.

ugh I loved this volume!!! tetsuo and sato continue their cute, sexual-tension-filled dance around each other (both are pretty wholesome and definitely not too brave 😂). they also continue to give the demi girls some adorable bonding moments. the pool scene was so sweet! hikari and yuki’s friendship is probably my favorite. finally, we get a whole last section about a new kind of demi - a zashiki-warashi!! yoko‘s relationship with the zashiki is very heartwarming…then finding out she’s a takahashi too?? is this tetsuo’s sister??

this volume also provides us a clear answer on tetsuo’s mindset towards the girls - he explicitly states that he sees them as children, and could never/would never think differently, of course. hallelujah!! this is what we saw through his behaviors, but it never hurts to see it confirmed in writing by the mangaka.

Another page turner. The monster girls try to stay cool in the summer (especially snow woman and vampire), and there’s a lot more fun bonding and hanging out to beat the heat, rather than much drama. There is some speculation on how dullahan legends formed, which was nice too.

Also! Final chapters introduce a new monster girl, another from Japanese lore. It’s a two parter that tugs at the heartstrings just the right amount. Hints at how one is related to another character; perhaps we’ll see them again?

These feel very short. Like, this volume was mostly focusing on the heat of Summer and poolside. Mostly Snow woman (Yuki), Dullahan (Machi), and Sakie focused. Not a ton of development, though Takahashi gives a slight answer about how he would respond to interest in him romantically from Machi (theoretically speaking only).

The final chapter focuses on none of our main characters, instead introducing Yoko and Zashiki-Warashi (Happy Home spirit). Decent little story. =]

I am in love with this manga!

So much fun! It's wonderful. Such a light-hearted, yet though provoking series. Such great lessons in living with differently abled people. This series is just plain adorable, & so are the girls. Art, simple, yet very good. Dialogue, very good, very real feeling. Characters, likeable, relatable.

Момент з тим, хто пише історію, був сильним.

Останні два розділи трохи зіпсували враження, тому 4 а не 5.

Of course we would have a story related to swimsuits. Not even slice of life stories are safe from that.

Anyways. Funny how professor Sakie is slowly teasing Tetsuo at every opportunity she gets. Trying to prove that he’s truly immune to her pheromones. Which he’s not, he’s just very good at hiding it.

As the girls enjoy their day, Kyoko gets to experience being underwater for the first time. You know, thanks to her body she’s not able to do that safely.
