This is an alternate cover edition for ASINB01EI1EBFG.

In the aftermath of the bloodbath in London, mercenary Alex Dering is just trying to get her life back to normal—whatever “normal” is for a mage with a newly-awakened dragon side. Her latest assignment: a job for the Magic Council, the leaders of the supernatural community and the people who sentenced Alex’s kind to death.

Apparently, normal just wasn’t in the cards.

A new and mysterious supernatural threat has arrived in Munich, someone who melts buildings, summons forth armies of the dead, then vanishes without a trace. If Alex can’t catch this rampaging supernatural, tensions between humans and supernaturals might just boil over.

Ella Summers has been writing stories for as long as she could read; she's been coming up with tall tales even longer than that. One of her early year masterpieces was a story about a pigtailed princess and her dragon sidekick. Nowadays, she still writes fantasy. She likes books with layered plots, lots of action and adventure, and a touch of romance. When she is not busy writing or spending time with her two young children, she makes the world safe by fighting robots.

Originally from the U.S., Ella currently resides in Switzerland. She is the author of Sorcery and Science, a fantasy adventure series set in a world splintered by magic and technology.

Magic Kingdom is book three in the Dragon Born Alexandria series by Ella Summers.

Let me start by saying you do need to read the Dragon Born World books in order to understand all the elements and things in play. They each coincide or happen after previous events.

Magic Kingdom had a dark sinister undertone. There’s an evil that is collecting fairy artifacts that can control the dead. We also learn that their are two evils in play and what their plans are.

Alex and Logan do a lot of running around in this story and are always arriving on the scene just after all the aftermath. Not much character growth in this one for Alex.

We are treated to Alex’s sister, Sierra, who comes with Kai and the Commandos for the Magic Council’s big meeting to discuss what is happening in the world. We also get to have Naomi, whom I love, and her cousin Eve and her boyfriend Max around. This gang is still investigating the missing hybrids.

Two things that bothered me:

We don’t get to learn anything about the Dragon Born. They have a book that only a Dragon Born can read, yet we the reader and characters don’t get to learn anything. Alex and Sierra still don’t know much about their Dragon Born gifts. I really want to know more about the Dragon Born. Why did the council turn on them? What are all their gifts? etc..

The other thing that I found weird is that Alex is having these odd dreams. What’s up with the weird dreams? It didn’t fit into the story and felt out of place to me. We never learn about them and why Alex is having them.

Magic Kingdom was an ok read. I wasn't as enamored and into the story. It took me a while to get through this book. I just wish it had more, that my questions where answered, and that some things got better or more explanation. I'm going to take a break from this series for a while.

Love the twists

Having the sisters together was very interesting. I was a bit sad that they didn't work together very much. I guess Sera has her own problems right now. Alex continues to be strong but she is also very fragile and is worried about becoming a monster. Her dreams are a mystery that I hope will be solved soon. This book was a little harder to get through but the twists were great.

Trouble in paradise?

I’m enjoying this series, however I’m beginning to get extremely frustrated with Logan. His attitude just rubbed me the wrong way as he continues to hide things and act like a lone wolf at times. But since we see Sera, Kai and the Commandos I’m more than happy with the story.

All hell has broken loose in the form of out-of-control magical creatures attacking humans making Alex and Logan job harder as they, and Monster Cleanup, try to keep up with it all. Hopefully the Magic Council and others will get things under control and the two of them can get back to stopping the Convictionites.

The gang’s all here as the series moves to Europe. Lots of yucky and dangerous monster killing. But I’m really upset with Logan. He’s not a very supportive, understanding lover. You would think with the blood bond he would feel what she was and figure it out. I felt like punching him.

I feel sorry for the pizza delivery guy. Just drops off some and has to turn right back around, all in 15 minutes. And why would you keep a syrup bottle in a drawer where it has to lay down. Should be in a cabinet or refrigerator.

Fave scenes: Alex fighting the bees, Eva and Marek playing the fairy PC game, the Monster Cleanup stickers and the two fairy guards.

Love this author, and the Dragon Born Series

A great blend of magic, romance, mystery, and action that lines up seamlessly, following right along with each of the important characters within the Dragon Born stories. I enjoyed getting insight into each of these people as their story unfolds and aligns with the other characters. I firmly believe characters and their ability to draw in the reader are what make any book worthwhile. Sera, Kai, Naomi, Alex and Logan certainly do an effective job of just that with their different personalities, full of snarky sarcasm, witty humor and the way they show their fierce loyalties and devotion to one another. Definitely a series that was enjoyable to read!

Very good continuation of series

I enjoy both Dragon Horn series. Alex is a little wilder than her sister. Logan has been put through so much by his own mother. I'm concerned about them trusting Marek's mother. None of them seem to get a chance to get rid of the bad guys except one at a time.

Magic Kingdom is another big win for Ella Summer's Dragon Born series! Alex can't catch a minute's break between fighting every bad creepy crawly nasty thing on the planet. The monsters have gone wild. Chaos is everywhere. Of course, underneath it all is a crazy evil mastermind or two trying to take over the world. Lucky for her, Alex's magic is just as wild and crazy.

Alex is becoming quite a warrior

Alex struggles with realization that she needs to unfetter har magic and the fear that she will become a monster if she does. She enthusiastically loves to fight, and win, so it could be a problem for someone with less character than Alex. It works out nicely

Great series

I continue to sing the same song, read Ella Summers books! She is great with good versus evil. Strong female heroes with a touch of naughty thrown in for good measure. The guys aren't bad either. Romance just enough to be pleasing yet not overpowering.

Good book written well!

The characters really come to life, the settings are described well without delving into overly descriptive chunks, and the story line is fun and surprising.

Fun and exciting!

Ella Summers does such a great job with her character development and consistency of narrative voice that I find her series a joy to read. Fast paced, descriptive, and always kept on your toes, Magic Kingdom was a fantastic read.

I made it 11% into this book, but it's just too ridiculous to finish. It's probably no worse than the previous book, but I've lost my patience for sticking it out when I have other, more promising, books waiting.

Honestly at this point I'm not sure why I'm still reading them. Maybe just because I was needing something silly and mindless?

One of the better books of the series. Lot's of open plot lines at the end, so I am sure there is much left to work out.

Magic Kingdom takes place right after Magic Blood. The Magic Council has hired Alex and by extension Logan (where she goes, he goes) to help solve the issues that are arising in Munich. Magic is on the fritz and it is up to them to figure out why. Weird stuff is happening and the Council needs to have it cleaned up before the Magic Summit takes place.

A lot goes on in Magic Kingdom, Alex and her twin, Sera introduce their boyfriends to their twins. The girls inner dragons are able to talk to each other. Sera is still trying to unlock her inner dragon so she isn’t really helping her sister unless you count moral support. Marek and Eve are off doing something, the missing hybrids were mentioned. No one really knows what Naomi is off doing but it’s important cause she is MIA for a bit. Alex’s nightmares are getting worse and she is scaring herself. Oh ….Logan’s ex shows up on the scene, what a witch!

Alex and Logan are figuring out the inner workings of being in love and working together. Logan as an assassin doesn’t like people much. Alex has to remind him to be nice a lot. I don’t know it kinda fits him, so I say love the man love the scalding face. Alex’s interactions with her inner dragon, Nova are hilarious, you can literally feel the relationship building between them. Alex is still jumping head first towards danger, only now Logan prevents her from getting too hurt. His protectiveness is in overdrive since London. He has a contingency plan for his first two contingency plans of escaping with Alex intact should the Magic Council figure out what she is.

When Marek’s momma goes missing, all heck breaks loose. The group as a collective whole acts together to get her back. The big baddie Majestic has her, as Alex and Marek want to go guns a blazing, Logan won’t let them. Will they get to her in time? Will the council find out what the twins are?

Magic Kingdom was a fun adrenaline rush from start to finish. You have to read all of the previous books in the series and her sister’s to really know what is going on. It is entertaining and amusing. You can’t go wrong with this series.

Called back to Zurich and now working for the Magic Council Alex and Logan are cleaning up the monsters and following leads on a new Supernatural threat that has risen. Someone is releasing monsters and creating chaos through out the city. Sera has come to Zurich with Kia for the Magic Councils Summit. Alex and Logan work for the Magic Council under Marek's mom Margery Kensington whom is responsible for hiring the assassin that came after them as children and killed their father. Magical fairy relics being stolen, Alden a powerful evil mage, and the Convictionites all coming together in Zurich. Alex is plagued by dreams of becoming evil and destroying the world and stressing that she will loose control. Marek, Eva and Naomi are in search of missing Hybrids. Marek's mom is kidnapped from the Magic Council Summit and it turns out the Convictionites are after the same Fairy artifacts as Alden and his followers and Zinnia a Convictionites with mutated magic wants Logan and Alex to retrieve the artifacts from Aldens follower or she kills Marek's mom. In the end with help from the Commandoes, Eva, and Marek they triumph and get Margery back and kill the Zinnia and Alden's agent. It was great to see the interaction between Sera, Alex, Kia, and Logan. I am really looking forward to what happens next in the world of both Alex and Sera and maybe to see where Naomi's story will lead.

Amazing Action & even fun times in between.

Ella Summers' book, Magic Kingdom, is full of intense action, emotional roller coasters, well-practiced light magic, lots of dark magic, and TONS of new monsters to keep Alex & all of her friends busy, much to their delight, of course. HA!

This book brings the 2 Dragon Born twin sisters together. Their men reunite (did u know that they'd had "dealings" before?), and thank goodness for the commandos who bring skills AND comic relief. Add to them Marek with his big dragon, his rescued love & fairy hybrid Eva, and Eva's enormously talented cousin & glam fairy hybrid, Naomi. You've got a well-casted book where anything could happen...

And it did! It REALLY did! A little bit of everything happened! I loved it, read through it in 3 days (around family schedule or it would have been a marathon read to the end). And I'm ready for more!

I'm actually heading over to buy Rival Magic & the rest of the books available right now. Poor bank account...

If you love reckless action packed, fantastical, magic-soaked fun mixed with witticisms & a few sexy moments, take my advice & just get ALL of the books. Thank you, Ella, for entertaining me & keep drawing me in over & over again!

This series of twins separated in most of their books, has all the mystery, humor and romance of books that are easy to read but very very [ Extremely ] hard to put down the books. The world created by Ella Summers was great with very strong kick ass heroine. Like her first series of Dragon Born; this series features Alexandria or Alex as the main character with her sister; Sera coming into the book fully this time.

Another strong book from Ella Summers series "Dragon Born". Fast-paced as always, plenty of action scenes and cool magic battles.

Highly recommend Magic Kingdom and can hardly wait for the next books in the series and Alex last book in this story line and I do hope for more of Alex in the future.

Loved it..

I adore the entire series and this book was no exception. I've always preferred Sera's story but this book made me a fan of Alex's now. Not to give anything away but the sisters and their beaus came together in this book. They had separate missions but interacted so that was a very pleasant surprise.
There was plenty of action, tons of romance and even a past lover turned spy. As always.. well written. A very good read and highly recommended.

Good story

Looking forward to book four, in both series--one due out sometime in summer 2016 aka any time now; the other by the end of 2016--and caught between hoping it comes out soon and hoping she takes an extra editing pass to clean up the sound alike words (e.g., graze and grace have massively different meanings).

Otherwise, this was fun, fast, and furious, with the first clear victory against Team Hate.

This is a really great book! Just when you think they've hit just about everything something new pops up. This one will leave you guessing for answers and clues to figure out who and what the new threat is and if Alex and her friends will manage to live through it all or not. I can't wait to read the next one! Waiting for it to come out is just so hard! LOL
