Her heart searched for a melody. Will the love song she finally hears be loud enough to drown out the screaming memories of her past?
Back-up singer Casey lived the old anthem, “work hard, play harder.” When she meets handsome sub-drummer, Sam Wildner on a gig, their attraction is immediate. The two musicians forge ahead in a dizzy rhythm of passion and music, both impressed by each other’s harmonious abilities. When Sam learns of Casey’s family trauma involving her sister’s abusive ex-boyfriend, he commits to being there for her and her young niece who is caught in the middle.
The melody of their love song rings loudly in Casey’s ears as she and Sam navigate the precarious fast lane of jealousy, murder and rock ‘n roll.

Casey and Sam definitely had a rough start. They were attracted to each other and were moving right along, only to have tragedy strike in some of the worst ways. And once that happens, Casey is all but useless, so Sam and his neighbor step up to do all they can to help the woman Sam loves.
It was quite a task to connect with Casey, much less like her, but that may have been intentional on the author’s part because that’s how grief works for some people. Regardless, Casey had a very difficult time pulling herself away from the abyss, and Sam did the heavy lifting in life to help her recover. I felt that this story was more tell than show, but I definitely appreciated the reality of mourning that the author showed in Casey, even if it was painful.
I loved this romance-suspense book. This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up when I see one of her books. Her attention to details and her writing skills are great and her stories are always fun to read. This book is no different. This is a well written story that has characters that bring the story to life. It is engaging and a page turner. The twists and turns left me turning pages fast just waiting to see what would happen next. This is Sam and Casey’s story. They both have a past, one has a really bad breakup and the other is hiding from a psychopath. Casey is a backup singer for a band and meets Sam when he fills in as drummer. Their relationship soon grew, loved their chemistry. What will happen when Casey’s past comes crashing into the present? What will fate have in store for them? I loved both of these characters. They made the story easy to read as well as made the story pop. This is one of my favorites by this author and I highly recommend it plus her other books.
It's pretty sweet but has some terrifying moments....seems a contradictory thing and it is but it's life. You get some really terrific moments and some terrible.
Sweet and romantic! You could feel Sam and Casey's attraction right off the bat. Sam is simply the sweetest. He totally stole the book with his devotion to Casey and GG after tragedy struck their family. Definitely top 10 book boyfriend!
Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense By KG Fletcher 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the book Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by KG Fletcher. It is a story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is an amazing story that has me believing in true love and soul mates. I loved reading about the characters of Casey and Sam. Casey is a backup singer who is strong, intelligent, and independent. She loves her sister and her job as a backup singer on tour. When she meets Sam, she begins to hear the melody of a love song begin. Sam is a man who is an amazing drummer and has a deep attraction to Casey. These two feel a deep connection with each other. Just as their romance begins dark clouds roll in. What does the future hold for Casey and Sam? Read this book to find out. The way that this story is written I could feel the energy and chemistry between Sam and Casey. I grew to care about what happens to them with every chapter that I read. The book has both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. My emotions went up and down the entire time I was reading it. There are also tense and suspenseful moments. Don’t miss out on a story that is sure to touch your heart, I know it did mine.
“Casey knew they had something unique going on between them and felt nothing but pure delight as they started to create their own song together—perhaps the beginning of a love song....”
From the very first page you could feel the attraction between Sam and Casey, which only grew and grew as the story went on. The progression of a love song being created is the metaphor for Sam and Casey’s relationship, in the beginning the attraction is the thump thump of the bass, their heartbeats speeding up. As they get to know each other, spend time together, the melody comes. Then tragedy strikes in the worse possible way and Casey has to rely on Sam for support and guidance, their chorus is done. When they finally emerge from the other side of the pain and grief, their future clear, their love song is complete.
“Their love was a beautiful, harmonious expression of emotion humming between the two of them. Theirs was a full-fledged love song.”
I was not expecting such an elegantly written, emotional story going in, so I wasn’t expecting the depth of feelings I experienced during Sam and Casey’s story. There were so many tears, my heart broke for Casey and GG, but I loved Sam’s constant, unwavering love and support for both of them, and giving back the family they were lacking.
This is one of the most heartbreakingly beautiful love stories I have read in recent times, and I highly recommend it.
The only reason for the 4 not 5 stars was the language used sometimes (calling each other ‘girl’ and ‘boy’) just for me, didn’t connect with Sam and Casey’s characters.
Such a feel-good read! Sam & Casey fell fast & hard. With a great supporting cast, romance, and suspense, this made for a really enjoyable story! And I loooved GG! ❤️
I was smitten by the blurb and add the cover, right?
You would think you were reading another cheesy, lovey dovey book but only until the twist...and what a twist...holy Moly. I would have never expected it.
Casey lives with her sister and niece to help them out. She is a backup singer of a band and takes care of her niece between the perfomances. When their drummer double books himself they hire Sam - musician / high school teacher. Casey and Sam are instantly attracted to one another, the sparks fly and warm feelings build inside of their chests. They get along beautifully and enjoy their thriving love until her sister's call.....
Casey has right to be afraid. Her sister's abusive ex has gotten into their safe community complex against restricting order.
Yet Sam stays all the time by her side but can they go through it all after another tragedy hits them?
I laughed, I was sad, I was shocked, my heart was melting with joy.
You get truly everything in this book, I enjoyed it until the very end.
Sweet, romantic, and totally captivating but, holy, my heart! This book had me crying for so many different reasons. It was so beautifully heartbreaking.
Casey is a beautiful musician who likes to have a good time while she is on the road and helps raise her niece when she is home. Her sister is definitely her best friend and the family they have created is simple and lovely.
Sam is probably the worlds most perfect man! A teacher who gives his all to his students and a fabulous musician. Plus, he can sure plan an amazing surprise!
When these two meet it is instantaneous. They gravitate toward each other and find true love quickly and wholeheartedly. When the crazy, awful, heart wrenching moments of this book occur it was amazing reading the way their love song continued to play in both their hearts.
Overall this was just a crazy beautiful story. Everything you need in a sweet love song... love, heartbreak, redemption, and a happy ending❤️
Casey and Sam have a connection from the first moment they meet. What started as a beat of a drum and a melody of a song soon became the beat of their hearts and the melody of their love. Their story is impassioned, affecting and at times heart wrenching. At times their journey is like a beautiful tune but it is the crescendo, that poignant moment where it breaks your heart and holds it tight all at the same time. Like all beautiful love songs it will make you smile, cry a river and warm your heart.
Casey and Sam have that connection from the moment they meet. Sam is a temp replacement band member, but once he meets Casey, he falls fast for her. He would do anything for her as he gets to know her. Those moments help them connect in ways they didn’t know existed. The moment everything comes to a halt, she goes home. It is just so sad and heartbreaking.
While there were heartbreaking moments, you do get a really sweet love story, so romantic. Sam is such a good guy. He loves so big and so hard. These two were meant to be together.
This is my first read by KG Fletcher and I know it will not be my last. The banter between Casey and her band had me invested from the beginning. The flirting and whirlwind romance between Casey and Sam will have you rooting for them from the beginning. KG makes you forget that your reading a book, you feel like you are in the story with them.
The connection between Sam and Casey is one that is undeniable. Casey's niece is absolutely adorable and my heart hurt knowing what her sister endured by her ex.
When tragedy hits Casey and her family I was shattered. Again KG makes you feel as if you are living this story in real time and its happening to you and not a character in a book. I love books like this that give me all the feels from the beginning to the end.
Can't wait to see what is next for KG Fletcher I know I will be reading it.
This was a very fast paced story, full of wonderful characters, chemistry and plot twists. Casey and Sam's story made me laugh, cry and smile. I adored GG! My heart sang for Casey even when things looked their darkest. A great exploration into the love of sisters, domestic violence and starting over.
Love Song was an enjoyable and loveable read! You will fall in love with these characters and feel there heartache as well! Sam & Casey made my heart flutter with all their love! But can Casey overcome her pain and hurt to get their love song in the end?
Oh man! This was my first KG Fletcher book but definitely not my last. I was immediately captured by Casey and her band mates. I enjoyed watching their banter and seeing her and Sam flirt was so much fun. I was lost in their story and KG writes in such a way that I felt the love emanating between them as their relationship developed. They had knowledge of each other before the reader comes in to the picture so we're seeing them as things develop romantically. It's easy between them and they get each other. I liked Casey's family as well, when we start to get to know them. Her sister is kind and caring and watches out for her; her niece is so sweet and at a fun age! I loved how KG drew me into their world and based on the blurb, knew something was going to happen. When tragedy hit, I wasn't prepared for it and it absolutely gutted me. The path to healing felt realistic and love was a big part of that process, too. I loved everything about this book and highly recommend it!
This book had many elements that made it whole but above all of those, there was the love of a strong man at Casey's side, Sam. Their love story was their love song.
I have read and enjoyed all of the books by KG Fletcher that I have read and was not disappointed by this standalone friends to lovers, with a rock and roll twist, romantic suspense. The author took me on an emotional rollercoaster with this novel, its a wonderfully written and heartwarming friends to lovers romance with an added rock and roll element. Casey is a party girl and backup singer who meets stand in drummer Sam whilst on tour. The couple have an instant connection which gets stronger throughout the story, especially after tragedy hits and the couple need each other more than ever. They become friends and although they are both attracted to each other, Sam is still hurting after a bitter breakup and Casey is just not looking for anything serious. However, when Casey has to leave to go to her sister and niece’s aid, when she learns that her abusive ex brother in law has found out there address, Sam goes as well. Casey is worried that her family’s drama may put Sam off from any potential relationship but he’s more worried about Casey and her sisters safety. This novel really was an ‘edge of your seat thriller’, I was gripped from start to finish. The storyline had plenty of romance and great music as well as suspense and family drama. It definitely had more of a dark twist to it then previous books I’ve read by the author as it involved Casey’s sister being in a past abusive relationship, however this topic was dealt with sensitively and added to the over all story. The characters were all so well written and described that I felt like I knew them! Sam and Casey were great main characters, I love how their relationship grew and developed over time, and how their chemistry sizzled off the page and resulted in some steamy scenes. I also loved Casey’s niece, known as GG. This was an engaging read and I was fully immersed in Sam and Casey’s story, so much so that I read the book in only a couple of sittings. I also found myself thinking about the book and the characters long after I had finished the novel, always a sign of a good book for me. A five star read.
It's been a long time since I read a romance novel, but boy am I glad I read "Love Song"! It was super fun to read a romance that is set right her in the city where I live - Atlanta! The story moves at a quick pace, has some suspense and plenty of love and romance! I really enjoyed it and have added KG Fletcher's other romance novels to my reading list!
Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by KG Fletcher
5+++ Stars
*sigh*
I'll start by saying that this author crept up on me while reading her Southern Promises series, which if you haven't read go one click right now. There's something about her style, and the way she handles character dialogue and describes just enough of the scenes around the characters, and the characters that make me feel like I've literally crawled into the books she writes. I enter a comfort zone when I open one of her stories and then lose all track of real life and then sit in sadness when I finish. If I haven't stressed it enough this author is absolutely one of my favorites ever. Completely Amazing!
This story was no different as far as how much I loved reading it, it was kind of awesome though hearing about familiar towns and highways as I lived up there, just a bit north of Cumming, but my brother and his family still reside in Cumming! That made it all feel even more real and familiar. There was one part where I wanted to shout a few shortcuts I know of, as I was saying Nooooo do not get on 400!! LOL
The added suspense and edge of my seat reading was a complete surprise to me, it had me all messed up and the emotions afterwards were so hard. I fell hard for Sam and Casey and loved their story, as well as Gwyneth. I wanted to hug her so tight, but another player in this book won my heart pretty quick as well and that was John! This story weaved so much love, loyalty, bonds between sisters, danger, suspense, and heart pounding moments, you really don't want to miss out. I can't recommend it high enough!
I will have all of this author's books sitting on my bookshelf as when I reread them all I want them in my hands.
Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock & roll romantic suspense by K.G. Fletcher
This is a stand alone, but a fantastic story! K.G. Fletcher has done a fantastic job and this will not be my last read by her. She captivated my attention and didn't let go until the end. She has really brought the characters to life.
Casey, Cee-Cee, a back-up singer for her band isn't looking for love, but she finds it. Things get tough when something happens to her sister, but she isn't alone. The quote I choose for Casey is: “This is me and Laura backstage after my first professional singing gig. I was real young, a few months after our parents died. That night was the first time Laura ever told me how proud she was of me. As long as I can remember, she kept this photo on her bedside table. She once told me that every night before she went to sleep she’d look at it and it always made her smile after a long, hard day. She said she always knew I’d be successful with my talent and she was proud to be there, supporting me from day one. She believed in me....”
Sam, back up drummer, isn't expecting to find love so soon after a bad breakup. He lays eyes on Casey and is blown away. He learns of her sister's past, but doesn't think he'd be helping Casey after a difficult time. The quote I choose for Sam is: “I shouldn’t have left you. I’m never going to do that again. Do you hear me? I love you Casey, and I’m never going to leave you.”
Highly recommended for young adults over 18 and I'll warn you to have a box of tissues nearby. You will ugly cry.
KG Fletcher's experience as a professional singer brings authenticity and excitement to this contemporary romance between singer, Casey, and drummer, Sam.
As a young woman in Atlanta, Casey has a fun life filled with traveling for gigs and partying in hip cities. The only sadness in her life is her sister's escape from a violent ex-husband. Fortunately, Casey gets to love on her adorable niece, Gwyneth (GG).
Sam is smart, talented, and smitten with Casey. I love how the inspiration for naming his dog Bleu was eating wings with blue cheese and celery while watching football. He defines easygoing.
It's sexy when Casey sings a Patsy Cline song for Sam, who accompanies her on the guitar, on one of their dates.
And major props for mentioning a character from the TV show, Three's Company!
But my favorite part of the story was a suspense element that I didn't see coming. Casey and Sam do a masterful job explaining what happened in terms understandable to little GG. GG is precious:
Casey could see GG sitting on the floor with a hot pink feather boa around her shoulders and a floppy hat on her head. She had a very large book open on her tiny lap and was pretend reading to Bleu who lay on the braided rug with his paws crossed in front of him. A cowboy hat was perched on the dog's head and he sat stoic, as if listening to her every word.
I get super excited when I see a new KG Fletcher romance is available and often tend to one click without ever thinking twice or taking the time to even see what it is about. The cover of this one was a winner in all the ways and drew me in without seeing a single word, I was only more excited when I read the blurb and started to devour the insides of this wonderful friends to lovers romance. I am a sucker for music as much as I am reading, it is all about the words and the emotions the sounds draw from me, well this book combined the best of both worlds for me and laid out the romantic story of Case and Sam in much the same way a song would develop. Slow and steady and methodical until it builds into the crashing crescendo and boisterous ending. Music is often a direct correlation to my life when I listen and this book was the same. Things are not always perfect and the slow burn was definitely there between these two. Be prepared to be on the brink of tears a few times too, but I promise it is all worth it when you finish that last melodious chapter. I am so anxious to get my hands on more of Fletcher’s work!
KG Fletcher’s Love Song is, as the title suggests, a romantic novel where the main characters are musicians. The development of Sam and Casey’s relationship is interspersed with their experiences performing and touring together. I particularly like Fletcher’s vivid descriptions of the places they go to, and (of course) the food they eat when they’re there! The tension in this story comes from the ghosts of the past that haunt the couple. Sam is still getting over a difficult break-up and is afraid of making himself vulnerable to more heartbreak. And Casey’s sister and niece are worried about an abusive ex who they’ve worked hard to escape from. The story is at times quite dark, but this is balanced with humour and warm characters. Casey’s niece, GG, is definitely my favourite character! The bond she has with Casey is so special and their happy moments together bring light and fun to the story. For me, this book gets four stars. I would recommend it to fans of romance and music, who want a book that will have you on the edge of your seat (and maybe reaching for the tissues.).
I have read a couple books by KG Fletcher and I really enjoy them. Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock & roll romantic suspense was the latest I read. The book was not at all what I expected it to be, but I loved it just the same. The story tells of Casey and Sam meeting and falling in love, and the journey along the way. The first couple chapters shows us the stereotypical musician, drinking and partying and traveling around for gigs. I was expecting a quick pace rock star love story. But we soon discover neither are true Rock Stars- they both have a day job and responsibilities and like to just break free every once in a while to wind down. I loved both leads, as they are strong and independent but also vulnerable enough to rely on their friends and family when they need it. I would love to hear more about this couple. I don't want to give away surprises, but there is a huge event that shocked the heck out of me 3/4 of the way through. Read for yourself...you won't regret it.
Love Song (A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense) by K.G. Fletcher was a great 5 star read. I was excited to read this book, the author pulls you right in with her writing.
This is Sam and Casey’s story. They are both dealing with things from their past. Casey sings with a band and she meets Sam when the band hires a fill in drummer. The longer they worked together the closer they got, you could feel the chemistry between them. Just when things are going great, the past comes back to haunt them.
Will Sam be able to help Casey? Can these two get a HEA?
Overall I really enjoyed this edge of your seat romance. The couple were great, gotta love a drummer. My emotions were all over the place. There are several twists and turns. If you're looking for a great rocker romance you will really enjoy this book. 1-click and get started today.
Love Song was a wonderfully written romantic suspense written by K.G. Fletcher. While on the road as a backup singer, Casey falls for their stand-in drummer Sam. They share such a special bond, but suddenly Casey’s world gets rocked when she gets word she must go save her sister from her abusive ex. Surprisingly, Sam goes with Casey to help protect and support her. Casey is worried about exposing Sam to her family’s crazy past and Sam is worried for Casey’s safety. This story is the perfect blend of romance and suspense, with Casey and Sam’s relationship and the uncertainty of what the crazy ex will do. I really admired Sam for his willingness to stop touring and go with Casey in her time of need. I also sympathized with Casey who drops everything in her life to be sure her sister is safe, something I would do for my own 2 sisters.
Love Song (A Friends-to-Lovers Rock and Roll Romantic Suspense) by K.G Fletcher is another wonderfully woven and entirely captivating story. I say this repeatedly, but Ms. Fletcher never fails to deliver a story that captures my heart and mind, every single time. I love her warm, sexy, almost lyrical writing style- it makes reading her books such a pleasure. The way she wove quite an intense and suspenseful story in and around a sweet romance was really clever- and definitely gave this book an extra zing. As expected, the story is sexy and romantic, with intense moments, edge of your seat suspense, tension, sparks, emotion, and drama- and of course let’s not forget about the music. Well worth the read!
It is almost like Casey loves two separate lives as when she is touring, she adds spontaneity and fun to every situation however when she is home, she is the best sister and aunt that anyone could ask for. When her two worlds collide, it is both emotional and suspenseful.
Sam is the perfect mix of sweet and sexy who has been hurt by love in the past and wants to protect his heart until Casey comes into his life. He funds himself as a drummer on tour with the band and he is enchanted by Casey so when her life takes a dangerous turn there is nothing he won’t do to protect her and her family.
Casey and Sam are a perfect match in so many ways and their story is sure to touch your heart.
Love Song is a friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by K.G. Fletcher.
