This is the novelization of the first Losing His Wife Series featuring Pete and Jess Mapplethorpe. It has been edited and combined into one book.

A cuckold tragedy...

Pete and Jess Mapplethorpe have been married for seven years now. They’ve got two wonderful little boys and an Irish Setter. Everyone that knows them would say they are the nicest couple you’d want to meet.

Well, they might say that Pete can be a bit of a jerk sometimes—but Jess? Regional Grade Three teacher of the year, three years running. Pretty, polite, sensitive, kind and thoughtful…

It must have been black magic that brought them together…

Behind closed doors everyone would be shocked at what goes on. They’d never believe the dirty things that sweet Jess might do or say. Pete doesn’t think he has what it takes to please his beautiful wife and they fantasize about larger men taking her and making her happy.

She’s just starting to discover herself at thirty-five… She wants to make up for lost time.

They’ve found a handsome, well-built young man to play along. It’s better than they even imagined. Now that they’ve started will she be able to stop? What if she doesn’t want to?

Her husband loves enduring distressing levels of humiliation and she’s finding a crazy pleasure now in delivering it…

UPDATE: I recently found the author’s website ktmorrison.com. Among her many books, I found an epilogue (Easter Egg) to Learning Lessons which I hadn’t seen anyplace else. At the end of my review below, I mentioned the final line in Learning Lessons which really got my attention and made me reflect further on the story I’d just finished reading.

I was of two minds about reading Easter Egg; the book left me in an interesting place which I didn’t want to disturb. But my curiosity won out. On the one hand the Epilogue added a nice finish to Learning Lessons. On the other, it was a little disquieting and left me with a few different questions. My guess is those questions will never be answered. If you like Learning Lessons, I think you will love Easter Egg.

Note: the start date above is when I read the book, the finish date is when I read the Epilogue - Easter Egg. I’ve also read 5 other books by this author, enjoyed them and rated them highly.

LEARNING LESSONS REVIEW

I hate serials so I waited for this series to be turned into a book; I'm really glad I did.

This book is a strong 4.5 but not quite a 5. The story is a hotwife story with a fair amount of trauma between the covers. It has a lot of great sex between the bull and the wife, plus a fair dollop of humiliation for the husband. What's different about this book is it's not a HEA but ends on a hopeful note. I'm not going to say who the hopeful parties are.

While the book does flip POV's, I don't feel we see the characters develop as much as we could. There isn't enough introspection resulting from story events. And the marrieds never seem to come to conclusions about what they are doing. When Jess asks Pete about his excitement over being humiliated, he doesn't really get past "I don't know".

Jess, who as "teacher of the year" appears to really understand people (both students and parents), seems to have a real blind spot regarding her husband and what she really wants, and how her actions affect others, including her children. She just seems to get carried along. I expected her to learn more from her experience in Florida, but the author doesn't reveal any of Jess's potential insights.

This is a cautionary tale about loving your partner too much. Both husband and wife fall into this trap, (husband with the wife; wife with her bull). This isn't about someone who falls ill, physically or mentally, but a day to day partner. If the partner knows they can ask anything of you and you will do it to "make them happy", they are likely to keep asking, keep testing, no matter how good and nice they are. And they're likely to do it until the askee has nothing left.

We do see Pete the husband grow from his experience of being asked too much. I think 'see' is the operative word; there is very little internal dialogue to highlight Pete's change in attitude and response, but his actions speak loudly. I particularly like the fib he tells at the end that will help rebalance the relationship with his estranged wife.

While this book is principally a good sexy story, the clincher for me was the very last sentence. The depth of this author's writing/thinking was revealed in just a few words, beautifully set up in the last few, short paragraphs. It was enough to cause me to almost rate this book as a 5. On reflection, there may have been additional deep insights imbedded in the book that I missed. I'm feeling that I need to re-read this book to see what I might have missed; "Learning Lessons" may yet be a 5.

As this is my first novel from this author, I will look to read some of her other novels. The author certainly has excellent potential - I hope to see it grow.

Cuckoldry And Humiliation. And A Lot Of It.

Normally I would give this book one star and leave a scathing review. But for one thing I realize KT didn’t write it for an audience like me. For another the story is so over the top ridiculous it’s almost cartoonish.

The husband had a genuinely small penis, the wife got great pleasure in digging the knife of humiliation into him as often as she could and the bull was a big stupid oaf. She even had the bull move in with them.

So yes, an over the top attempt to titillate an audience that I admittedly just don’t understand. So three stars for doing a good job at that.

I was hoping for a better ending but it left me unsettled.

A couple's desire to involve another man in their relationship, so that she can experience 'a real man' allows a young muscle-bound 'cuckoo' into the family nest.

This full-length novel is a very arousing but at the same time harrowing account of the wife's obsessive infatuation and the husband's misguided desire to make his wife 'happy'. His masochistic craving for cuckolding gives her the excuse to completely abandon acceptable sexual boundaries.

Wonderful Wonderful

This is an amazing story. It’s long, but definitely worth reading, even if you can’t read it all at once. It’s interesting that it starts one way, then makes you wonder and finishes differently than you might expect. Certainly an enjoyable read!

My rating is based on my enjoyment of the story. The writing is high quality and there were only a few grammatical errors. The story was simply too much for me.

This story may be a 5 star for you, especially if you fully enjoyed Kenny Wrights Training to Love It series or Arnica Butler's Corrupting April series.

All the warning signs about the type of story are there in the title. So be warned that you are getting a cuckold story that does not have a perfect happy ending.

Number one complaint is how long this was. It was well written, just too long and winding with a fair bit of material that was unnecessary. 600 pages could have been cut down and condensed to 300 at least.

Number two complaint is the reason behind their actions were weak or unexplained. This is probably my fault because the book was so wordy I probably skipped something vital to the story.

Number three, the revelation at the 80% mark would destroy any hope of a marriage's survival. It broke the foundation of their relationship that no marriage could overcome.

There were some well described sex scenes but due to the story length and context of the scenes, they were not hot at all. I found the last 25 to 40% of the story unerotic, even anti-erotic. I also felt fairly early on in the story that I was witnessing two people fall out of love.

A credit to the author, I suppose, that her writing affected me this much but it's counter to the genre. I need to read a quick and hot story to cleanse my palate to prevent me from giving up on the genre.

-------------

The title Easter Egg available from the author's site didn't really offer much more than Jess and Tyler a chance to resolve their relationship and allude to how she was more upset at his leaving than anything else about their relationship. No sex and, to me, it was actually more ominous than erotic.

There was a lot to like about this book, most prominently Jess's complete fall into her bull. The impact of the cuckolding relationship on the broader social and family dynamics was comparatively strong and warrants the 5th star. I'd like to have known more about how Jess came around to humiliating Pete's small penis and committing to a cuckold relationship.

The book is a fantastic read. I really enjoyed the ride. Writing reviews isn’t my forte, but I wanted to let would be readers know it’s good.

Sometimes teacher’Sometimes taught

Tough insights into the components of fetish driven to perversion. Even honesty has limits when fantasy ignites a couples deepest desires and fears.
I highly recommend this leisurely rollercoaster ride
