Summary:
When Derek discovers that Mieczysław "Stiles" Stilinski--known for his YouTube videos of skating, not his competitions--is going to be at Nationals, attempting to make the Olympic team, he has to go. After all, Stiles learned ALL FIVE of Derek's Worlds routines and posted video of each one to YouTube. Yuri on Ice inspired Sterek! Loved this so much. The characters or events in YOI don't come into play here, Victor is only mentioned as a competitor, nothing more than "Nikiforov", so don't go thinking this is YOI.
It's more about how Derek used to compete, but stopped to be a father, sees Stiles skating Derek's old routines on YouTube, and offeres to coach Stiles for the Olympics.
But it's so cute and fluffy and sweet. Derek has the cutest little daughter ever, and Kate is her normal, bitchy self (although maybe not psychotic- no one's dead, at least!). I only wish there was more Derek/Stiles couply time, but the focus here is more on skating, and a bit on Derek taking a chance. Still, I love this, and would totally love to see a sequel, of life after the Olympics.
