Evil, the enemy, and sin work powerfully to move mankind toward desolation and destruction. But God, as a masterful Builder and Repairer, is working in our time and throughout history to set things right. What does He set right? People, souls, hearts, minds, and lives. When we trust in Him and turn from sin, God works within us to repair and restore the way we think, what we value, and the priorities and perspectives that move us to action.
The book of Isaiah is the story of a Hero—a loving, skilled, and powerful Hero—who concerns Himself with our welfare and our future. One day God will set things right for the whole world, but the first six chapters of Isaiah focus on the personal level. Setting Things Right explains six ways that we can cooperate with God to set things right in our hearts, minds, and daily lives.
Come, enter into Isaiah’s gallery of vivid pictures and take in the richness of God’s “paintings.” God effects the rescue and relief that we have been waiting for, and builds within His children a new reality of glory and restoration—a reality, not only an ideal to be longed for. Isaiah vividly portrays the keys to possessing this reality. God is ready to set things right. For you.

Beebe is the author of Isaiah: Setting Things Right and a co-founder of Lighthouse Bible Studies. She has a bachelor’s degree in business, but her heart is in teaching the Bible. She has developed application-based studies for the New Testament books (except Revelation which is event-based) and for Isaiah, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Daniel in the Old Testament. Isaiah: Setting Things Right is her first written study.
Her perspectives and understanding of the Bible have been influenced by some great pastors and teachers, and by the works of great Bible scholars. She was a member of Dr. Adrian Rogers’ church for nineteen years, where she heard the word of God come alive in rich insights and practical application for the daily Christian life. She listened to Dr. Charles Stanley’s In Touch radio program for fifteen years, and heard another very practical exposition and application of Scripture. She became familiar with such reliable sources of definitions, customs of Biblical times, and interpretations of Scripture as Matthew Henry, Adam Clarke, Albert Barnes, Dr. Spiros Zodhiates, and The Linguistic Key to the Greek New Testament, among others.
Beebe has taught the Bible to women, high school girls, and Vacation Bible School preteens. During her four years in the witnessing program, Evangelism Explosion, she heard a wide range of concerns, objections, and perspectives. On eight overseas mission trips to Brazil, Uruguay, and Ukraine, she participated in evangelism, taught Vacation Bible School, and spoke to children, teenagers, and women about faith in God and life with Him.
Her heart’s desire is: • to promote Bible study in our fast-paced world • to help women understand the Bible and see its relevance to their daily lives • to encourage women to delight in God and embrace His help • to share with other women the spiritual journey of the Christian life
In the future she hopes to have a Bible study campus in the Atlanta area with her husband and her daughter who are also Bible teachers. Katy Kauffman has published her first written Bible study, 2 Timothy: Winning the Victory, about how to win the spiritual battles of life and ministry.
Beebe enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching good movies, and scrapbooking homemade Christmas cards.
This great insight into the book of Isaiah will help propel you forward into reading other Old Testament prophecies. We can realize how these words can apply to our lives today too.
