As war rages on across the galaxy, a diplomatic mission turns into a desperate fight for survival.
Captain Peter Fromm: Fromm and his Warp Marines face old enemies and new threats inside a colossal space habitat ruled by a mysterious alien civilization. Their lives and the fate of their country hang in the balance. Heather McClintock: The CIA operative faces her toughest opponents yet: a race of decadent immortals with godlike powers and murderous urges. Her only weapon is an untried new technology with lethal side effects. Major Lisbeth Zhang: The fighter pilot risks her very soul when she makes contact with entities from the depths of warp space. Her choices may lead humanity towards a golden age – or eternal damnation. Corporal Russell Edison: Russell just wanted to travel across the galaxy, meet exotic aliens, and shoot them. These new ETs want to play with Charlie Company, and they are about to find out that Marines only play to win.
C.J. discovered his obsession with making up crap and writing it down at the age of 6, when he wrote his first short story, back in the days when the Cold War was still on and the only mobile devices were the wrist watch and the walkie-talkie. He's been making up crap and writing it down for fun and profit ever since.
Unfortunately I was not that impressed with book 3, consequently it took several days for me to get through it. Growing up an avid Star Trek fan watching reruns of the original William Shatner Star Trek, it reminded me of too much of an episode that held the same premise - a world inhabited by immortals who were 'bored' and kidnap Captain Kirk and crew members for entertainment. The difference being that they could 'force' the unwilling hostages to participate. I remember this clearly after all these years because Captain Kirk and Uhura were forced to kiss.....very scandalous for a young girl in elementary school! Kissing...ick!
A CJC. SYFY. Novel (WMCB. - 3) And the Fight Continues
CJC. has. penned the third novel in the Warp Marine Corps series, which has the men and women of earth on the attack against the second breed of intelligent snake look alike aliens. They were unprepared for an attack such as their' numerous planets, but the Warp Marine Corps had the upper weapons hand and readily eliminated planet after planet. However, as in the past the Snake aliens were recouping quickly. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
Well, start off with a diplomatic mission, new technology, warp, and plenty of action for our old time friends. Well developed story, good characters. Cannot wait to see where all this leads to in the next story.
I have a lot of SF books I've had difficulty putting down, but this one had me hooked from the first page. Alert: It is very important that you read the previous books in the series. I have spent the couple of days packing for my move tomorrow while trying to read this book. I have no idea what is in any of the boxes I packed. I just couldn't put the book down. Looking forward to reading the next, unpacking will have to wait.
Don't mess with the Marines. The galaxy at large are learning that lesson the hard way. In the third book they are invited to parlay for passage thru a warp gate, upon arrival they learn they are other for game of death. Well Marit being Marines, let's say death and destruction follow and the station is now property of the U.S. Warp Marines. Bring on the next book
I have been reading sci fi since I was a boy I am now 55 years old cj Carmella is the best new author I have found in 10 years his stories are enthralling the action is spectacular and the characters well thought out and engaging .I can't wait for book 4 .well done and thinks xxx
Great book. Fast paced. Good background and build up to main sequences. Good continuation of series. Eagerly awaiting another book. Couple spelling errors only counted 3 or4. Worth the time spent reading and money spent buying.
Great read. Action packed with an interesting if occasionally odd plot. Really enjoying this series so far; hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one!
Another excellent story. The Warp marines are invited to meet with the Tah-Leen an incredibly old and powerful alien race that controls some vital warp pathways. As usual the Tah-Leen turn out to be sadistic assholes and the Warp marines end up kicking their butts.
