I love Amish stories and I admire Heidi for holding her own. I can't imagine wanting something so bad and it's just withing reach. Heidi however:; is stronger than she looks and is a wonderful teacher in many ways and I believe if memory serves me correctly a matchmaker in the making.
There are many new characters in this book. We meet Lisa, Bill the janitor, and a few others. All have come to learn how to cook.
I think the one I most feel sorry for is Nicole who has to do everything around the house. There is no way not no how would I take on all that responsibility when there were two or three capable hands or bodies whatever the case may be. I'd be like hey I need a little help around here I can't do all this by myself. I"m a sister not a mother.
There are a few things that I like about the story. There are a few dislikes I don't like for example when Kendra went back to live with her parents and changing her mind. Sometimes it's not always best and it usually ends up hurting the other party.
I do believe that things work out some for the better but some not for the worst.
I did have a little trouble connecting with the characters in this story but I have seen God's grace through the author who wrote this book..I do understand that these books are written from the heart of the authors who put these books out there for us reader and for that I do thank you!!

Lyle and Heidi open their home once again to a cooking class. Will this class get as much out of the class as her last one? Not only did they learn how to cook but they also learned life lessons through Heidi's scripture posts on the recipes. However, with this class Heidi is working with a broken heart. She and Lyles' dream has been dashed. While she is happy the young Mom's prayers have been answered, her heart breaks for her own loss. Will her heart be healed as she tries to help others? Will she and Lyle ever get their happily ever after.
I love how Heidi and Lyle open their home to others. I look forward to another class soon.

I just could not get drawn into this book. Sorry.
I usually can connect with the characters in a book very quickly. I just was not able to do that in reading this preview. I started reading when I was 4 years old and have no idea how many hundreds or more books I have read. There have only been a couple of dozen that have left me feeling as unsatisfied as this book did. I can only blame it on the shortness of the preview. I did not get a chance to see how the characters developed in their relationships with each other or to the story !one given in the first chapter.

The framework for this novel is an Amish cooking class for six people. As the story unfolds, we learn about each of the people enrolled in the class and the problems each one is facing. We also learn about Heidi and Lyle who learn to overcome disappointment when they learn they will not be getting the baby they had been looking forward to raising as their own. It is pleasant to watch the characters begin to share their problems and joys with each other--and to have the recipes of the meals they fix so we can try them for ourselves.

Second book in the Amish Cooking series. Once again Heidi not only teaches her students cooking skills but she nurtures the needs of students lives with special scripture on the back of each recipe. Wanda has a knack to weave lives of people from totally different walks of life and how God can use these differences so each can find solutions. Heidi does this all while she’s nursing her own broken heart,

I really enjoy the Cooking Class series, learning more about Lyle and Heidi Troyer and Heidi's students from each class she holds. I am always reminded to reach out beyond myself and stay interested in peoples' stories. Everyone has one, and most often it's not the one you expect to hear. I'm looking forward to the next Cooking Class book!

When I first started reading this book, I was hooked . different stories all intermingled and you felt for the main character. Hope to find this book when it comes out in full.

Heidi is a amazing woman. The way she helps the people in her cooking class is amazing. The characters in this book are all very special people. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.

Better the Amish way
