After 26 years in Corporate leadership at a Fortune 500, I discovered people within the organization lacked integrity. I’d always known deep in my soul that I was trying to fit a square peg in to a round hole since I’m the typical creative type. I miss my staff but I don’t miss the corporate world. It’s been said that the Universe will let you know if something isn’t right for you. The first time, it will hit you with a pebble. Then a brick. Then a boulder. Let’s just say that I got flattened. When my fifteen pound toy dog, Nigel, was threatened, I knew it was time to say goodbye.
It’s true.
Here’s what I found within the first thirty days of being free. Writing stories from my heart that readers love means more to me than working myself in to an early grave for people who only care about their bottom line.
My heart has never been more full and my soul has never been more satisfied.
I’ve never worked so hard in my life but it doesn’t even feel like work. It’s worth it. All of it. Because it’s about the joy that’s found within the journey. The highs and the lows because I get to write stories for all of you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, enjoying and recommending the stories that I write. When you share my work with others, nothing is more rewarding. Your word of mouth is my very best friend … that, and your reviews. There is nothing more important to me than all of you.
I love to hear from my readers and answer all communications personally. You can find me at:

THE SLOT
Cole and Eloise are total opposites but sometimes the opposite attracts. They both work in the Hockey industry, Eloise PR and Cole and Hockey player. They meet one night leaving work not realising who the other is and they click. These two have a rocky road getting into a relationship, people getting in the way trying to ruin it. And Eloise's ice princess identity that she uses to protect her. My heart broke for Eloise a few times and I had tears in my eyes. She knows too many douchebag in her job and private life.  Seriously!!!! Sometimes I just wanted her to slap someone, but she is the better person and can move on. Well all except one, Trevor! Holy crap! What a past they have and more heartache for Eloise. I've got to say I was a little disappointed in  Cole when the truth came out. I nearly wanted to throw rotten tomatoes at him. Nearly! He came through for her when he got his head out his butt. I like him again now :) i like how he didn't give up and genuinely cares about her. Things get a little difficult personally when Eloise secrets come out. And the way he sticks up for her when people makes comments ♡ I really did enjoy this. I can't wait to read more of Kylie and her going on :)
THE CREASE
Kylie is unique character. Growing up abandoned with no family and feeling worthless, she got worked to get to where she is now. An amazing job with good people. But still the past has a hold of her and big time insecurities, especially around a certain hockey player. Shredder a big star hockey player didn't have it easy getting to this place. A dark secret and a health secret keeps him with his guard up. Hot as hell and such a good heart. When he meets Kylie he knows straight off he wants her, but his past makes him weary. His well meaning, overbearing mother and someone from his past doesn't make it any better for him. Two damaged souls. It's like they are meant to be to help each other. Both have such insecurities and it does get in the way. Alot! It was sometimes frustrating. But then they have a bonding moment and it's YESSSSS then again insecurities. I did enjoy the banter between them and dates hahahaha first date that Kylie picked. Wow definately not something I could do but was fun to read. They have such fun and know to live life to the fullest.
They both face the past demons and really wanted to hi-fi Shredder.  Jezz story? Wow I don't know how I'd feel after all that time, but kind of nice in the end. My heart went out for both of them. Both stand on there own feet and deal with whatever comes there way.
THE REBOUND
Ryder is finally getting his Hockey dream and going for The Riots. He has been a little bitter over the years which I can kind of understand but still wanted to slap some sense into him. I didn't like him in Eloise book the 1st Riot book. To be honest in this one I had moments that I wasn't impressed with him. Then he would turn it around and impress me again. Can't decide if I wanted Hannah to kiss or slap him hahahaha ok both. With his childhood and loosing his dream I do get it, but his whole attitude about women kind of angered me. But like I said before he would do something for Hannah then I like him again. Hannah I loved her and felt for her.  Feeling like she did always a disappointment and how her parents talked to her sometimes when telling her what to do. She is a adult and she needs to make her own choices and find what she wants to do. I did feel her pain and anger alot but sometimes I felt like she needed to explode and just let everything out.  She did impress me with her kind heart and finally standing her ground and figuring out what she wants. Oh and finding a irritating but HOT guy. I really enjoyed the story for these two and the feelings I experienced for them both. Ryder had great moments when he was so sweet and tender with Hannah and I felt jealous.  They both have family issues to deal with so they both enjoyed the time together. But i still can't decide if I want Hannah to slap Ryder or not hahaha.

****The Rochester Riot Digital Boxed Set 1-3: The Slot - The Crease - The Rebound
5 stars
I purchased a copy of the steamy Hockey related three book collection The Rochester Riot Digital Boxed Set 1-3: The Slot - The Crease - The Rebound by Colleen Charles and this review was given freely. Three interwoven ironic and at times twisted full length romances with dark undertones but happy endings featuring members of The Riot hockey team and management as they struggle with corrupt management, the sequelae of abuse, changing dreams and finding love.

The Slot
4 stars
I purchased a copy of The Slot: Cole and Eloise in the steamy Hockey related three book collection The Rochester Riot Digital Boxed Set 1-3 by Colleen Charles and this review was given freely.
A tribute to justice, good morals, love and doughnuts. A behind the scenes look at the life of a female PR Director in the dark largely self-entitled Alpha male world of The Riot's management team as well as a poignant story of a rape victim's healing. The snarky/ sarcastic Director of Communications and Community Relations for The Rochester Riot hockey team Eloise Robertson makes a vow never to date anyone she works with but a chance meeting with an attraction flirty mystery man who turns out to be the new star center Cole Fiorino challenges her life plan giving her the hope that she could have it all.

The Crease
4 stars
I purchased a copy of The Crease: Shredder and Kylie in the steamy Hockey related three book collection The Rochester Riot Digital Boxed Set 1-3 by Colleen Charles and this review was given freely. An ironic and twisted steamy story of insecurity, new love, family expectations, and the vast array of depravity/ abuse found in today's society. Feeling alone and insecure after her youth in foster homes and on the street, The Riot's PR administrative assistant Kylie Rose decides there in no place for romantic love as she struggles to balance her career with escaping the influence of her former "street family" but then The Politski Foundation heir Sheldon Politski aka Shredder the goalie for The Riot hockey team cracks through her seemingly carefree facade and allows her to hope in both love and family.
An 18+ novel

The Rebound
4 stars
I purchased a copy of The Rebound: Ryder and Hannah in the steamy Hockey related three book collection The Rochester Riot Digital Boxed Set 1-3 by Colleen Charles and this review was given freely. Not what I was expecting. I thought the third and last book of the series would include the newest draft pick and Shredder's new roommate not the smarmy self entitled Ryder mentioned in book one and Eloise's youngest sister Hannah.
This is a reformation of a bad boy-virgin romance. Just as a Riot promotion offers twenty nine year old Ryder a second chance to play in the NHL, his estranged father is let out of jail and Ryder finds himself attracted to Eloise's sister Hannah.

The Slot: Eloise Robertson works a high powered job for an NHL Franchise named Rochester Riots in public relations. When a chance encounter has Eloise meeting Cole Fiorino new center for the Rochester Riots will she mix business with pleasure? This is a stand alone sports romance novel with a bit of suspense. This novel offers sweet romance, action, humour & some twists to keep you captivated. With entertaining character's that are realistic with real emotions & flaws. When secrets of Eloise past are revealed unexpected shock occurs. This novel is a journey to find love in spite of your past that is sweet & touching. A entertaining read.

This is the 2nd stand alone novel in A Rochester Riot Sport Romance series. This one revolves around PA Kylie Rose & Goalie Sheldon (Shredder) who come from two different worlds. Pink hair Kylie grew up in the system going from foster home to foster home till she was old enough to be on her own. Shredder has two big secret's that could destroy his chances with Kylie. This novel had a lot of depth & well developed with no plot holes. With bewitching characters that are realistic with real emotions & flaws. This novel offers a bit of hockey, secrets, mystery, sweet & sexy scenes, & twists & turn's to keep you captivated. I prefered this book over the first book in this series. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

The Rebound - Standalone - with characters crossovers. This is my favorite book in this series. It has a good mixture of Hockey scenes & sexy spicy scenes. The characters are witty & compelling with real emotions & flaws. The premise of the novel got me interested & did not disappoint. This novel is sweet & mixed with angst. It will make laugh, cry & cheering on Ryder & Hannah. With a fantastic ending a delightful read. I recommend reading this sports romance novel as its splendid.

The Slot

Eloise,
Admit it. One look at Cole and you were lost. Even if the last thing you want is to fall for a hocky jock. But he’s determined to light your fire and melt that oh-so-icy attitude of yours… And he knows, Pretty Doughnut Lady, that you belong to him.

The Crease

Kylie and Shredder… Wow. Past and present secrets and pain will either draw you tightly together or tear you apart.

This is my favorite of the three books in this set. I loved the intricate plot, the careful pacing, and of course, watching the deep love develop between these two wounded souls. Really good.

The Rebound

Ryder,
I really did not like you.
Maybe, over the course of the first two stories, I saw a glimmer or two of something-- someone worth knowing.
Hannah’s sweet and good… Too good for you.
But then, love finds us in the most unexpected ways.
And love is a crucible to bring out the best in us… if we let it.
So, Ryder… in the end, you won me over.

I really enjoyed this box set. I hadn’t read any of these books before, and I settled in, over a few days, and just absorbed the stories. Each book is a stand-alone, and yet each is connected to the others, with characters continuing on from one to the next.
Bottom line. Well worth my time. These characters will linger in my imagination. 5 stars.

This was a very good box set if you knew your hockey! And, I don't but, it was still very good. There are 3 books, slot, crease, rebound and an extra
book, benched. They each have a couple and their romance. Cole & Eloise,
Shredder & Hailey, Ryder & Hannah. Cole, the hockey Star and Eloise, a front office type are the first couple. Shredder, the Star goalie and Hailey her assistant. An office type who never made it into the NHL, Ryder and Hannah is Eloise's sister. Coleen Charles has done a perfect job of describing them, has all the little extra special things about each couple. Such as Eloise's nick name of pdl and who would ever know that Cole was a barrister? Coleen Charles is a very good author who just gets better and I would definitely recommend reading this book!
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy and wrote an honest review.

I've read Book #1 The Slot out of the box set so far.
This was not a normal sports romance book in my opinion but I liked it maybe more actually because of it being more in the romance Slot than the sports Slot. Has a lot of feels through-out the story with twists too. All around a good romance story.
I cannot wait to read the other two stories in this box set.
I was given a copy of the box set to read. I really liked the story I read and chose to review it and was not compensated in any way to review it or asked to give a positive review.

I love The Rochester Riot boxed set! I already had two of the three books, so this set just completed my collection! These hockey players are hot and all alpha male, and I love how there's humor, angst and steam all rolled into this package. Great character growth and development as well for our hunky hockey men and their women. I also appreciated that these weren't just marginal stories involving hockey, but that hockey itself played a really integral part of these books! Great writing, great collection! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and also own them.

This boxed set provided a lot of absorbing reading about The Rochester Riot Hockey Team members and the ladies who fell for them. My favorite was "The Rebound" (AKA 'The Point') because it showed growth and a redeeming quality to one of the previous characters in other books in the series. My least favorite was "The Crease" because the main characters had such far-fetched adversity in their upbringing. Overall, it was a good series.

I simply love Colleen's books...her story lines drag you in and bring you up close and personal with all the characters ❤

Each book is a great standalone read, but they're even better read in order x

Each book has a lil bit of naughty, but plenty of story to keeps you hooked 'till the end...hunky men, strong sexy women, love and romance...what else do u want from a good book...or three 😘.

Review for the Point:
This is the third book. It's about Ryder and Hannah. I absolutely loved the first person point of view of the story, which is always a deal breaker for me. It's definitely worth the read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Hmmmm

I almost didn't read this one, but I knew I had to. I knew a happily ever after was coming.
I was not a fan of Ryder's from El's book. I was also not a fan of Ryder's from parts of this book but he won me over after a while. He definitely had the d*** attitude down pat!!

Great stories, easy read.

The Slot

Another great book from Colleen Charles. Easy to read with a twist youd never see coming.

Eloise: Works for the Riot hockey team. She puts her job first. People think shes an ice queen. She just needs the right person to thaw her, could that be new hockey star Cole Fiorina.

Cole: New hockey star with a love of doughnuts and coffee. Meets Eloise over buying doughnuts, hes attracted to her. But can they mix business and pleasure.

Will something from her past destroy them or can they win through.

The Crease

A gripping read that highlights problems.

Another great love story that highlight a topic that gets swept under the carpet, its in the news in the U.K. right now.

We find out how Cole & Eloise work out.

Kylie Rose Eloise old pa and best friend with pink short hair has a secret shes worked hard to get away from and hide.

Shredder the handsome goalkeeper makes a clumsy impression on Kylie at their first meeting. Shredder has his own dark secrets.

Can Shredder change the impression he made on Kylie? Can they overcome their problems to make each other happy.

The Rebound

We meet Hannah baby sister to Eloise (from the slot), She is at a lose in her life needing a change, needig to sort out what to do with her life. She moves to Rochestr to help Eloise. Can this be the new start she needs.

Ryder works in marketing at The Riots but his dream is to play hockey for them. When the chance comes to try out for them he goes for it.

Ryder is a knowen playboy not looking for anything after a night of fun.

Hannah is looking for somethng special.

Can they find what they are looking for in each other. Can both of their dreams come true.

I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book."

Below you will find my reviews of each book. Overall, I give the series 4.3 stars (average of the 3 books).

The Slot review *****

This book sweeps you into the crazy world of hockey! You get to see what goes on "behind the scenes" of an NHL hockey team and see a romance blossom between the unlikely pair of The Ice Queen and the Beantown Bard. Eloise is focused on her career in marketing and can't find a man that can get past her icy exterior. Cole just joined the Rochester Riots to help get the team the Stanley Cup. I love how the two meet and their almost instantaneous chemistry. I expected Ryder to have a more nefarious role in the book, but there were plenty of other interesting obstacles. I know you'll love this story and how Cole and Eloise get their happy ending. Watch out for Kylie; she's a pistol!

The Crease review *****

Kylie is back and the main event in this story! She meets Shredder and doesn't believe he could really ever be interested in a girl like her. Kylie has a unique backstory (I'll let you discover it for yourself) that makes her feel unwanted and Shredder has a secret (or 2, or 3) that no one knows about. I loved the intricacy of the plot and the depth of the characters. There was never a dull moment in this book! A great continuation of this series with a character that, I'm sure, everyone fell in love with in the first book.

The Rebound review ***

Man I really wanted to like Ryder, but he left such a bad impression on me in the first book that it was difficult to see him with Hannah. With that being said, I liked the plot and the idea of Hannah breaking free of the "homestead" after a rejection and Ryder getting a second chance at his dream. Hannah was definitely an innocent and naive character throughout almost the entire book. I would have liked to see more of her transformation into maturity as it seemed a little glossed over. Ryder doesn't change until the epilogue which made me happy that Hannah was happy, but still did not endear me to Ryder. Overall, this was not my favorite book of the series, but was worth the read!
