I like this book explanation of how simple prayers should be. It made me realize that praying is basically talking to God it doesn't have to be scripted.

I also like the sample prayers as they some of them are speaking to my situation.

This was a really good and simple read. Prayer is something many believers tend to neglect as a spiritual discipline, myself included. Rachel does a wonderful job of reminding us of the importance of prayer and how simple it can be.

I found the many illustrations helpful and relatable. If we want God to show up in our lives then we have to live expectantly. This doesn’t mean we’re waiting for miracles of biblical proportions to happen daily, but for his hand & graces to be evident in the normal moments of life.

Reading this book together with my wife has helped us both recommit to having healthy prayer lives. I believe this book is worth reading for anyone curious about prayer or trying to get back on the prayer wagon.

I have read a lot of books about prayer. This is an outstanding example of my favourite kind: Straight to the point, practical and life changing.

The author somehow finds the right balance between personal, scriptural and practical. She’s not on a frolic telling you her personal theory of things, nor is she pounding you with scripture till your head spins, nor is she propounding some highfaluting impossible to achieve philosophical treatise.

This book is based on the solid ground of experience and practice. I am impressed and enlivened by this book. It’s on my read out again list that’s for sure.

An easy to read, straight forward look at making prayer a priority and what to focus on in prayer to God. Backed up with lots of scripture.
