I've got to say I really enjoyed this story. I found myself saying just one more chapter quite a bit as I wanted to know how the story was going to go. I found myself guessing quite a bit through this wondering who did it.
Great debut novel. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
"Mum's The Word" is the debut psychological thriller by Sian Morgan. I know that a lot of hard work went into the book, a lot of editing and spell checking was undertaken. Once this was done it became a great summer read. The characters were all connected in some way which is gradually made clear just how the further you read. The characters are a mixture of likeable and despicable. One particular character had me feeling quite sorry for during most of the book, but by the end my feelings had totally been changed! "Mum's The Word" will appeal to a lot of readers like myself - a mum (or dad) who navigates the school run day in day out, who likes an exciting mystery of a read. I look forward to reading the authors next book.
First off I am rating the storyline as I like it. I did enjoy the thrill of it and the suspense of not knowing what can happen next-- always left me wanting to know more.
I think the dialogue and structure of the content could have been better equipped for the American version--this version depicts more of the England "English" Version. The dialogue is England English and can often give a reader a sense of confusion when reading the content.
The storyline itself was interesting. The twist of the characters had me a little confused at first but in the end I was able to understand more and got a sense of thrill from the plot of being a thriller storyline.... It definitely related to a lot of psychological aspects making it an interesting read for sure.
I am 50/50 on this book. The story us really good, however the enjoyment I usually get from reading a great book was somewhat spoiled! There was a lot of repetitiveness, jumbled sentences that you had to read over and over until they made sense and also getting the key characters names mixed up. Such a shame a great book has been spoiled by bad editing!
I gave up on the first page! There were far too many errors for me to read this book. Wrong words used all over the place. Someone really should have proof read this properly!
