I didn't do this last night while in bed as it is not a good place to try and hit the buttons on my reader. This was one of their best books as I am
thoroughly entrenched in the characters and feel that I have an intimacy with them. The book was full of intrigue and a continuation of the searches with the Frenchman and his cronies but ended surprisingly. I won't blow it but the last chapter was a bit supernatural. Great read.

The Sahara Legacy - a review by Rosemary Kenny

I'm totally blown away by the thrilling 13th book in Ernest Dempsey's Sean Wyatt Thriller series, The Sahara Legacy.
All of them are outstanding and once you start reading any of the previous books, let alone this one, you'll be completely hooked as I was.

Brilliantly plotted, with charismatic hero Sean Wyatt, who's human, flawed, yet seemingly indestructible as time after time he escapes from seemingly fatal abushes, attacks and nefarious villains' clutches while deciphering complicated, mind-boggling codes and ciphers and often rescuing his hapless sidekick and best friend, IAA kingpin Tommy Schultz or another innocent victim at the same time.
This latest plot involves jewel-encrusted gold tablets, that when placed in the right order give clues to a fabulous treasure in the fabled lost city of Zerzura in the Sahara Desert and ranges from Civil War America to modern-day UAE countries and sees the return of a previously-defeated nemesis, on the same hunt.
The tension mounts unbearably as our heroes are betrayed by one they thought was an ally, subsequently leaving Sean for dead, with his body swept away in a subterranean river.
How will the remaining 'good guys' escape? Is Sean really dead? Has the villain triumphed after all?
You'll be dying to find out the truth from the very beginning and the best way to do that is to get a copy of The Sahara Legacy today - and tell all your friends!

I received a free advance arc copy from the author for my honest review and I also purchased it from amazon.com. Something I like to do to support a few Indie authors that I like.

The Sahara Legacy starts with our dynamic hero duo of Sean Wyatt and Tommy Schultz in distress, staked out in the desert of the empty quarter and no surprise that they get rescued at the last possible right before they are about to get killed.

Dempsey makes me think of Mighty Mouse (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X78i1...) every time these two are in destress, you know who the rescuer is and part of the formula of his for the series.

This is a good addition to the series, Dempsey adds all the elements you would expect from the action/adventure genre, like the historical stuff added to the storyline and puts the read right their for all the action.

The only bad thing with this is the lame ending, just seems like he could have written better and would have been better to see June be the heroine who saves Sean verse what he wrote.

Definitely give Dempsey a try, he's worthy of it and might just end up being your favorite new author.

Fast paced. Action packed. Witty. If you like Indiana Jones you will take a shine to this one. I love Indy but reading the action and gun fights is not like watching it!

Duplicity in the Desert

And we're off on the next adventure of our dynamic duo, former agent Sean Wyatt and his best friend and archeologist, Tommy Schultz. This time they're trying to unravel a mystery that has intrigued Tommy since childhood -- the search for the lost city of Zerzura, said to hold the key to immortality.

Of course, it wouldn't be a real Sean Wyatt adventure without a villain after the same prize (but for nefarious reasons). All the ingredients for a romping good read are here. Cool treasure with secret clues? Check. Great banter and dialog? Check. Perfect locale for maximum danger? Check (the Sahara desert). A great cast of secondary characters? Check (especially Sid). Timely appearance of needed help? Definite check. Some wild plot twists throughout the story? Check and double-check. Thrills and laughs along the way? What else would you expect from this author? Big, fat, bold CHECK!! Need I say more? Okay, read this book!

The Sahara Legacy: A Sean Wyatt Archaeological Thriller
Author: Ernest Dempsey

The Saharan Legacy is the fourth or fifth of Ernest Dempsey’s books I have read. He is a prolific author, who always manages to find the next plot to write about.
The Sean Wyatt series is entertaining and keeps the pace up. I do enjoy the archaeological aspect of the story and the accuracy is always spot on.
In this novel, Sean and Schultze are thrown into a fast-paced action-packed trip across North Africa. The story starts when Sean is just a kid and then takes us on a rollercoaster trip to fulfill a lost dream of his parents.
As usual in these thrillers, Sean is a bit weary of his old life, but he can’t stop being thrown back to his days as a secret agent for Axis, a shadowy alphabet agency that works behind the scenes to keep us all safe. While Schultze has the brains to figure out what is happening and where to go next.
The Saharan Legacy kept me interested throughout the book as the team keeps on the move and are always chasing the next lead. I do like the aspect that they do not always win every battle on the way to win the war. At times the team are at a loss for what to do next. I enjoyed Adriana’s character and look forward to hearing more about her in future books.

With such a long series you are never quite sure who is going to die and who is going to be saved. Ernest is good at keeping the reader on their toes with a surprise at every turn of the page.
I have lived in Africa for many years and do enjoy it when authors come to my neck of the woods and write a good compelling thriller. Ernest is great at his research, which is not always seen in some of these thrillers, and he makes sure the areas and descriptions of the people and places are accurate. As a denizen of Africa, I would like to see a little more research into the food they are likely to get and access to clothes fuel, etc. It is a different world here and chips are not a thing! I know I am being picky, but when a character does something that is quite clear to me not possible in the situation then I do have to lift my head, and it stops the enjoyment of the book.
But that being said the story kept me occupied and I finished The Saharan Legacy in three days so it must have held my attention.
Overall, I would recommend this series to any aficionado of thrillers especially if you enjoy the African twist which I very much do. The storyline is coherent and well thought out with a great plot line and an exciting crescendo at the end.

Sean Wyatt Adventure Book 13 of 20 – Draw is Slowing Down

So far I’m on book 13 of the 20 book Sean Wyatt Adventure series. While I really have enjoyed this series – the way in which Dempsey puts these books together is amazing – and the series has been very good, overall, I’m almost feeling that draw begin to ebb a bit; I just didn’t feel as drawn in to the subject of this book as I have the others. Is it possible that it may be because this particular story isn’t even based on a ‘real event’ or idea which, in truth, causes my interest to flag? If it actually is, it isn’t coming through here, and Dempsey didn’t provide an Afterward indicating that it was, as he typically has.

One can only read so many search-for-the-treasure-and-beat the bad-guys (even when they’re engaging in one of my favorite subjects: archaeology) books.

Having said that, however, these characters HAVE grown on me, and I am extremely enamored of archaeology and history, so the series’ primary subject(s) continues to pull me in. And even though there are yet 7 books in the series to complete it, I’m going to take a break to begin a new author that I’ve been eager to explore. Be back in a few with more reviews on Dempsey’s books.

I received a free advance e-copy of this book and have chosen to write an honest and unbiased review. I have no personal affiliation with the author. Wow! ‘Unputdownable!’ Ernest Dempsey has outdone himself again with another great Sean Wyatt thriller. This time they are looking for a lost oasis city in the Sahara Desert. This book is full of action and danger that never quits. There are lost artifacts, and enough villains for an extremely interesting and exciting read. Mr. Dempsey does a great job of mixing facts and legend with a good measure of fiction in this extremely well written piece of historical fiction with an amazing plot. This book would make a great movie. This is a keeper and well worth the read. I look forward to reading more about Sean Wyatt and his cohorts in the future.

This is a truly great thriller, I have been a fan of the Sean Wyatt series for quite a long time now, and there have been some fantastic stories, but for me, this is the best yet.
The book starts with a real bang and then gets better! The plot builds to a tremendous, shocking, climax and a real twist in the tail.
Ernest Dempsey is great at evoking the atmospheres of the locations he is writing about and he has maintained the standard in this offering, with great descriptions of several different countries.
The other stand-out feature of this series of books is the humorous sparring between Sean and Tommy, and there are some fantastic examples of this in this book.
In my opinion, this is one of the best thrillers this year.

There's such thing as too much action, I'm afraid. This book is the equivalent to fast food: it's OK maybe to have it every so often, but you know it's not good for you. There's no tension at all during the search for the lost city (the protagonists pretty much solve the riddles on the fly), and the chases and gun fights are so frequent and exaggerated that they become absurd and ordinary. Literally everywhere the go they need to shoot somebody. I understand there's an audience for this, though, and that's fine by me.

I don't know how Ernest Dempsey does it, but each Sean Wyatt book is better than the one before, and this one is no exception. Tommy wants to finish a quest his parents started, and so with Sean they begin their search for Zezura, a mythical city in the Sahara. Of course, there is a bad guy, and action and fights, but our heroes come through, with a little help from Adriana. Though for a brief minute I did wonder if that would happen. Loved it. Can't wait for the next one.
Although I received an advance copy from the author, with whom I have no affiliation, I bought a copy because the covers are just so fabulous.

Fast paced Action + Adventure Thriller

This is my first action thriller. Liked the unique plot, revolves around a treasure hunt. Sean Wyatt is the center heroic-character, along with Tommy, Adriana. In some chapters, the plot is predictable with too many twists, and reappearance of The Frenchman(Dufort) many times.
A good first impression on action thrillers is established with this. Planning to read more from thriller series from Mr.Dempsey

Somewhat disappointing...

I am a fan of the Sean Wyatt series, but the plot of this story is disjointed and never fully engaged my attention — I found it easy to put down, which has not been the case with the other installments. The plot also veers so far into the fantastic/ridiculous that no degree of suspension of reality suffices to avoid the “you’ve GOT to be kidding” response.

Love the relationships of all the characters in the Sean Wyatt books. This one provides another mix of history and fiction with adventure, intrigue, and humor thrown in. I was on the edge of my seat at times, chuckling at others, trying to solve the problems, and shedding tears near the end. Another great read by Mr. Dempsey.

The Gift of Eternal Life

I sure hope the author shares in that gift so he can keep telling great stories. This was yet another terrific thriller. These books are a joy to read. Carry on with wherever this great series takes you and us. As always, I'm looking forward to next tale of exciting adventure and perhaps new characters as well.

Yet another excellent read by Ernest Dempsey, this time they are trying to complete Tommys parents quest for a lost city and the source of eternal life bring on an old nemesis and the stage is set. Lots of twists and turns and a couple of real shockers, great to see Adrianna and June involved but only minority for the latter. Keep up the great work Ernie.

Sean Wyatt wins again, and so do we

This series remains one of my favorites. There’s a nice blend of historical fact and fiction. Plenty of action, even some suspense. These are fun reads. The characters are developed nicely. Good guys are good. Bad guys are bad. The stories are always entertaining. Recommended.

One thing I really enjoy about this series is the effort the author takes to show places not normally seen in these types of books. Part of the action in The Sahara Legacy takes place in Chad. The research is well-done, but the character growth is completely lacking. It is a family friendly romp that is entertaining.

He has done it again!

Another rollercoaster adventure for Sean Wyatt and his friends. Mr Dempsey does a fantastic job weaving real locations and artefacts, along with his imagination, to create some epic stories. If this is your first book in the series I recommend you start from the beginning.

I just love Sean Wyatt!

These Sean Wyatt books are truly awesome. I love the history mixed in with the mystery, action and fantasy. Sean is like an Indiana Jones/James Bond mix. Of course, I love all the other characters too. This character couldn’t have solved all these on his own! One should really read all these books!!

A good, clean, exciting adventure in which Sean and Tommy race against Dufort to locate a lost fabled city and to prevent the latter from obtaining an ancient powerful weapon. It was very much like a lot of Wyatt adventures, same flavor but which hasn't lost its savor. Fun and escapism at its best.

Fun book to read

I enjoyed this book. I've read all the books in the series and each one has a unique plot and ending just like this one. It took a few good twists and turns, but those are always interesting.
I read it in two days. Couldn't put it down.

Another action packed winner!

Sean and gang are some of my all time favorite characters. While they are brave and talented, it is their love and loyalty to each other and their goodness and honesty that is appealing. This was a terrific story and thoroughly enjoyable book.

A Sean Wyatt thriller

I love this series. The finds they go after are wildly illogical, but the relationship between the characters is what keeps me reading. I will continue to read their adventures. On to the next!
