When I need a short, hot, sweet and safe read (which is more often than not) CM Steele never fails me. The books just work for me.
I love a good shifter story. It's rare to find one that the hero hasn't been with others up until he finds his mate. But low and behold, Logan was NOT! I was so happy. Now, in my unicorn world of shifters, they CAN'T be with others unless it's their mate- but with Logan, he chose not to be because of the fact that they couldn't let just anyone know they were shifters. So when he found his mate, Grace, he knew without a doubt that she was his and did everything he could to convince her to stay.
Grace was a great heroine. Having grown up an orphan she didn't have many people in her life besides her friend, Dana. Vacationing with her and her family (including the creepy brother) she wanders off and gets lost, but happens upon a beautiful home in the woods.

Another great read by C.M. Steele! The story follows Logan & Grace who meet under unusual circumstances. Logan comes home to find an intruder eating his food and sleeping in his bed... his parents follow him and investigate this little intruder. Sound familiar?
Upon seeing the little beauty in his bed Logan has decided that she belongs to him. The characters were likeable but I didn't feel their connection... My only critique is that it felt a bit forced at times and the I love you's didn't feel real. Besides that the story itself was very cute and I loved the Goldilocks and the Three Bears theme!

3.75 stars! This was a fun story and a great take on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. It has elements of fairy tales, shifters and breeding; three great things to read about! I loved the passion that the characters showed for each other and I really enjoyed the insta-everything. I devoured this story in about an hour.
I am new-ish to this author but I have found that she writes all short, hot and safe reads. Logan was a great bear, but he did get a little aggressive with Goldie (that was his alpha bear, I believe). I found Goldie to be quite accommodating and it was fun to read about her complete surrender. This was a fun read to escape from life fora bit and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys insta-love shiftier stories. Thank you to MK Moore for the recommendation and gift.

This was boring. The instalove, loads of sex (especially given the short length), and the lack of character or plot development had me uninterested. 😐 I appreciated the double virgin aspect of this story, but the talk of “breeding” had me 🙄.
ETA: I have to admit that if I had read this right after a book that featured a gross, faithless manho, I would have liked it a lot more. The H was super sweet. As it was, though, I wasn't really in the mood for this kind of story. I should leave it in my "to read when I'm in the mood for sweet brain candy" shelf.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this delightful book from C.M. Steele. This is a sweet, sexy, funny take on the children's classic, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, only this version is for adults only. Grace goes camping with her BFF, Dana, Dana's parents and her older brother, Jared. Grace usually declined the offer in the past and the only reason she agreed was because Jared wasn't supposed to be going. He makes Grace very uncomfortable by always flirting with and being inappropriate towards her. Grace is 18 years old, she has no family and lives on her own she doesn't have time to be someone's conquest. While they're camping she has to pee so wanting to get away from Jared's eyes she walks far into the woods. She gets lost and ends up outside a beautiful house and when she knocks no one answers so she walks around back. She is surprised and scared when she sees a mountain lion coming towards her so she jumps into an open window and lands in the kitchen. Logan Lockwood is 24 years old and he owns and operates a lumberyard and a tree farm. He never lets a surge in lumber sales force him to cut into the next year's crop. He's tired after working a long day and wants to go home and relax. He wasn't expecting to find a gorgeous woman who he knows is meant to be his sleeping in his bed. This story was so sweet and I totally loved Logan and Grace.

This one was so adorable!! Logan and Grace. Bear and beauty! I enjoyed it throughout the reading.
I started to cry. One bad thing after another and I was worn thin.
Immediately, he rushed to the other side of the bed leaning over it, causing me to flinch in fear. Seeing my reaction to him, he stepped back like I’d struck him. “I wasn’t going to hurt you. You don’t have to be afraid of me,” he said without taking his eyes from mine.
“I’m sorry. I need to go back to my camp.”
“No,” he barked out.
They were fate mate and when they met each other, they couldn’t resist at all. Logan was so so cute and charming, he loved his Grace so much.
His large hand brushed my hair away from my face, sending a jolt of comforting pleasure over me. I instinctively pressed my cheek against it, seeking to claim more of his touch. “I’m going to keep you, my little Goldilocks.” His words should have felt threatening, but they only served to pull me toward him.
“I’m not afraid of you,” I whispered, turning my eyes up to his. The possessiveness in his tone made me wonder if he’d try to pee on my leg.
Logan was s possessive OTT Alpha Hero, and being like a caveman when things comes to Grace. Their story was very complete and smooth.
I wanted to make her mine in every way. I didn’t do anything but turn up the temperature though. It was smarter for me to wash this way. In five minutes, I was wrapping a towel around my waist and scooping my little Goldilocks in my arms. She gasped, then pressed her hand to my chest. The appreciative look on her face, as well as her soft body against mine, did away the effects of the cold shower.
I sat on the bed with her in my lap. “How are you feeling, Grace?”
Logan can be insane and obsessed with Grace, their love are deeper with the time, even it was quick at first, nothing stopped their hands off each other’s body hahahahaha.
“I don’t care, my sweet Grace. You’re mine and I swear if I have to take you to work with me I will.”
“You’re crazy,” she muttered and shook her head at me.
I cupped her jaw, caressing her soft skin. “For you I am and will stop at nothing to keep you here with me.”
“Forever?”
“Forever,” I promised, lowering my head and kissing her soft pink lips.
Logan saved her when Grace was almost raped by a jerk, and he became the bear that day, but Grace didn’t afraid of him at all. Epilogue was ten years later with their their cubs, so so adorable!!!

LOVE IT!
This was a quick cute light fun story. A retelling of the story Goldilocks and the Bears.
Instead of three brother Bears living in the house there live a family of bear shifters with its Papa and Mama Bear and their only son Logan.
Logan is a serious guy who takes things seriously with little to non-existent friends. He owns a lumberjack company and never had a girlfriend. In short he was a virgin.
The story started with Grace going on a camping trip with her friend's family when she always said no. She only decided to go because she had heard that her friend's brother, Jared won't be there but after finding out she would come the guy had cancelled his plan with his girlfriend and decided to come.
Grace was constantly on guard because Jared had been hitting on her. Its because of this that she got lost trying to pee and couldn't find her way back. She unexpectedly found a house in the middle of a clearing when a huge cougar attacked her. In order to save herself she barge in the house breaking a chair and drinking Logan's protein shake and sleeping on his bed.
When Logan saw Grace his possessiveness had been instant as well as their chemistry. Their attraction to each other were confusing even for Grace when she had no interests in men and had never even dated, meaning she was also a virgin. Their story was just sweet even though it was instant it was cute.

What a an awesome sweet modern day telling of Goldilocks and the Bears
Logan Lockwood is a hot sexy lumberjack but he is also a bear shifter. And he has finally found his mate Grace Harper.
Grace got lost when she was camping in the woods with her friends and found her way into Logan's house.
From there it was love at first sight and Logan has finally found his Goldilocks.

Grace went on vacation with her friend, Dana, and her parents, simply because Dana's brother, Jared, wasn't going to be there. Unfortunately, the creeper, upon learning Grace was going too, changed his plans. Grace was going everything she could to avoid him, even going further into the woods to use the bathroom than she should've. When she comes upon a house, a mishap (read as cougar) causes Grace to barge into the house through an open window. While exploring, she realizes she's exhausted, and settles into a comfy bed.
Logan arrives home after a long day at work, looking forward to relaxing in his favorite, handmade by himself, chair. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen as it's broken, and apparently the intruder helped themselves to his protein shake as well. Man, he'd forgotten to take that with him and had intended to drink it once he got home. But, there's something in the air, a scent that he must track down the source of...oh man, it leads to his bedroom. His mate, for that's all that scent can signify, is in his bed. Yeah, that's just all right with him.
When Logan and Grace meet for the first time, she's a little intimidated, not only by the sheer size of him, but also the fact that he's apparently not happy and it seems directed at her. I loved this new one from C.M. Steele :) Logan is one sexy bear shifter, jesus, he was hot and possessive as hell but at the same time, gentle and protective over his Grace ♡
There are many Shifter's Romance that show the shifters aren't with anyone but their mate, and in this one, that's the case, Logan is in mid-twenties, still a virgin and waiting for his beloved mate. His parents have been together a long time and still passionately in love and he wants that and boy does he get it, in the most bizarre way, he comes homes with his parents, they see some damage inside their house and drops of blood and find a young girl, (the lost camper) sleeping in Logan's bed. Automatically, he knows that she's his and he'll do everything he can to convince her to stay with him forever ♡
Poor Grace, all she did was going camping with her friend and her family but between dealing with her friend's older slimy brother trying to get into her pants and losing herself in the forest after going to pee discreetly so she wouldn't be caught, especially by the creepy Jared, she gets lost, then runs into a lovely house in the middle of the forest, then chased down by a cougar, making her go through an open window, hurting herself in the process, jesus, poor girl couldn't catch a break, so she took a nap instead lol Luckily, for her, she wakes up to find the people who would be her family (her parents were no longer alive) and the mate of her heart, the love of her life, passionate, faithful and gentle lover and father of their children/cubs ♡ Her day started horrible but the days afterwards were better until Jared decides to try to take what's not his, hurting Grace (not life threatening, thank god because she was already pregnant with Logan's first cub) and being disposed of by Logan in bear form (what a way for Grace to find out but she accepted who he was and still loved him anyway ♡♡).
We get two epilogues that show how happy they still are, their beautiful family and still reading Goldilocks to their children which is aptly appropriate considering this story of Logan and Grace is based on the children's style fairy-tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears :) but C.M. Steele turned it into the sexy, loving and funny take of the original and made it her own ♡
