Its been over one and a half years since I read the last book Witness Enchantment because I was so disappointed in the way the series was going. It was very disjointed and he seemed to just throw in new characters and situations almost at random.
Fortunately this was much better and except for the ending, the story was much more coherent.

Another disappointment

I couldn't remember why I didn't like this series, but it didn't take long for it to come back to me. The story jumps around and details are mixed up making it hard to follow and downright annoying. So done with this series.

Agatha’s adventures continues in the fourth installment in the series. Her rookie days are long since over and now she is the badass that is called in when magic goes bump in the night.

Agatha is back of course and so are her friends. Not surprisingly Fergus is stealing a lot of the show but this time we get to learn quite a bit about his past. As usual Agatha have a mystery to solve with its fair share of hidden secrets, twists and nefarious plots by equally nefarious characters.

These books are borderline young adult books and the story and the characters are thereafter. I have liked every book so far though, even if I am much further from being young than I would like to be.

The pacing, the dialogue, Fergus being annoying as usual, is all fun read. Agatha as well as the rest of the Federal Witch universe evolve another notch in this book and, of course, there are new hints and threads presented to the reader as to what future books may hold.

The Witches Council and the other various councils are really something I could be without though since they more often than not seems to be part of the problem and not of the solution. Typical home for political schemers and such like despicable creatures.

On the whole I enjoyed the book. A quick and easy but quite fun read.

I really enjoyed this book - this series is light hearted and such fun to read. It doesn't delve too deeply into any particular subject, but this one did a bit more than usual. This one revolved all around the unicorns and Fergus' history with them.

When a couple of dead unicorns are found mutilated, Agatha and he team are called in to investigate, but there's more going on than just a couple of dead unicorns. All the area surrounding the unicorn farm is dead - the other farmers are barely surviving, growing their crops and feeding their cattle. The answer must lie in the unicorn farm, but what is it?

Agatha has definitely grown in her powers and in her abilities to lead her team. I loved the secrets that were shared about Anastacia and that ending was a complete surprise. I can't wait to find out what will happen to her next. The Council are intriguing as well - not yet sure if they are really there to help or to be a hindrance. I guess we'll soon find out!

Are they sentient or not?

They have just gotten the case of the witness cleared when they are told that they are required to look into a new case. It is based on a ranch that breeds unicorns and was the home of Fergus until he got sold to Camilla. Unicorns are being slaughtered. What they find is even worse. The farms surrounding the ranch are dying due to the earth dying, there also appears to be a skinwalker in the area but worse what they discover about unicorns makes this a case of genocide. Great action, wonderful magic although I must admit that I really felt sorry for Fergus. Would love to see him meet his match.

Again a good book to read if you over look some stupid mistakes. This one was a big one, a boy laying injured for over 20 years, then gets up and remembers how to walk and move around. Come on, you haven't suffered a serious injury that hospitalized you where you had to learn to walk again. It doesn't take 20 plus years either, but suspend disbelief and it is a good read. I also didn't like the way the witches council activity took place at the end of the book. For this reason I am giving it a 4 rather than a 5.

I really enjoyed reading this story, as I have most of this series. One thing I had a really hard time getting past though... I'm almost certain I read in a previous book in this series that unicorns were known to be sentient and it was illegal to kill them. Aside from this, you'd think it wouldn't be such a surprise that unicorns were intelligent when Fergus has been around for as long as he has...

I love this series! The author is a very talented writer! He has created a very unique universe, and well developed characters. Fergus is by far my favorite character in the series and this book is all about his race, and origins. The dialog in this series is so hilarious, and the charters really draw you in. I highly recommend checking this series out! You won't regret it!

I can't get enough of this series. I love it. There were times I was a little confused, because I believe this story takes place after the spinoff by Taki Drake and T. S. Paul called "Shade of Honor". I'm thinking reading that one first might have been a good idea. Needless to say that's the next book I'm reading.

Federal Witch: Night of the Unicorn

Agatha and Fergus return to Fergus's Home Ranch. HE is Not supposed to come back because he was a sacrifice to protect the Unicorn Herd. There have been strange incidents, killings of Unicorns and destruction of all the land around the Unicorn preserve. The Magickal Task Force has their Next Mission.

Another excellent story

Some fascinating information and history of the Unicorns come to light in this book. Some terrible things happened to the Unicorns on the ranch Fergus grew up on. Hopefully, things will be better for them in the future!

A well written, detailed (yet still fairly fast paced) and engaging story. I look forward to starting the next book after work.

Fun, new, yet still a flexible reflection of tradition.

This is a fun, easily accessible read that, rather than inventing all it's own rules, uses snippets of mythology to add depth to an already complete mini-verse. The characters are true to themselves and their natures, without being hidebound to tradition.

Ugh !!! This one had way too much of the annoying Unicorn in it. Fergis has got to be the most pathetic, whiny, annoying character ever created. I have wanted him to get killed off from the first book. And in case your wondering NO the books are not getting any better and yet I'm still reading them. Help I think I need an intervention. LOL I'm off to start number 6.

Less Fergus, less excitement, and less humorous

The ending was a bit of a surprise, but I did miss the humor of the previous books in the series. Fergus was much less prominent, even though the story has a lot to say about unicorns. I enjoyed the book, but it wasn't the best of the series. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Fun read

I enjoyed this book. The reason for only four stars is the ending. The story build well, the ending was abrupt, almost as though the reader stepped on a rake, wham! It's over.

Great reading. Once I started I could not put it down until I finished. It is so exciting to watch Agatha grow and learn more about herself and her companions. Wonderful.

I found most of this story fragmented and a bit confusing. Not sure if its the way the story was being told, I missed something or it was editing. Needless to say it was difficult to follow the unicorn story.

Unicorns and witches

What a mixture! Great read and a welcome addition to the series. Little twists here and there but the federal witch manages to get to the truth. Looking forward to the vampire's story.

Great series

Another wonderful story in the series. T S Paul really sets up so many side stories in each book you can reread and catch tells of what will have a spinoff. Out of all his series the Federal Witch is still my favorite and will always come first.

Fun and interesting book

I didn't expect to be reading these books but I found a snippet in the back of my other book and was hooked. I love all things to do with magic and these books give a new insight into the world of magic.

A fun read.

Agatha and company are called in to investigate the deaths of some unicorns at a ranch in Montana. What they find there will challenge them and ultimately cause the loss of a team member.... But I'm not saying who - no spoilers.

Fergus and his kin get a more expansive role in this tale. Good to see all the players getting more skilled and able to tackle more complex challenges
